Ayliffe
Information Central [Modular MOC] As part of the great Mayhead City redevelopment, the town's old, dated information centre was completely renovated to provide a better experience for tourists wishing to find out more about the local area. The new building both manages to maintain the iconic interior of the old information centre and project the centre's design into the future with a state-of-the-art viewing platform. Liopleurodon
That staircase is beautiful. Also, I chuckled at the random "POLICE" brick on the outer wall. Congrats on being featured on the front page!
IcarusBen
I smell a Lego Island reference. Am I right in assuming this was inspired by the Information Center in that game? 1 Quote LEGO Republic:The ValkyrieThe "Christmas Brick" My BZPRPG Profiles Now a proud member of The Kanohi Force
Ghidora131
1. Congrats on the getting of the featured! ;D 2. It seems a little barren, but would fit very well in a landscape. Nicely done! 3. Thums up for the profile picture!
Onuki
Really nice job! The red "i" and book on the counter are great shoutouts to Lego Island. I really like the use of transparent red tiles for the "i" on the floor: you could have used plain red, but you thought of a way to make it stand out from the white even more! All the tiles in the MOC really give it that new, futuristic look you were going for. And the SNOT for the book is awesome. Great job making seamless use of a variety of white pieces, too. In my experience things like the white columns and those 1x4 white fences at the top are hard to work in without their sticking out, but they fit right in here! Now I wish people made more Lego Island MOC's. Ayliffe
Somehow I didn't actually notice that I'd been frontpaged until I looked through this thread. Oops? Welp, time to reply to all these replies then. That staircase is beautiful. Also, I chuckled at the random "POLICE" brick on the outer wall. Congrats on being featured on the front page! Thankies! The staircase was a bit of a tight fit, but I managed to get it in. Forgot to do a staircase from the ground floor to the first floor though I smell a Lego Island reference. Am I right in assuming this was inspired by the Information Center in that game? I can confirm that your nasal assumptions are indeed correct! All three lego island games were a big part of my gaming childhood, so it felt natural that I should pay tribute to those games in this way. 1. Congrats on the getting of the featured! ;D 2. It seems a little barren, but would fit very well in a landscape. Nicely done! 3. Thums up for the profile picture! Ooh, numbered replies now? How fancy! 1. Thanks lad! Amazingly this is the second time I've been frontpaged in 6 months, so I must be doing somethin' right. 2. Information centres are usually crowded, so I've left plenty of space for people to move about in there. I may add some more things in the future (the constructopedia and power brick come to mind), but for the moment it's probably gonna stay like this. 3. Sorry, never heard of a "Thums". I'm assuming that it's a good thing though. Really nice job! The red "i" and book on the counter are great shoutouts to Lego Island. danny316p
I love the interior. I kind of wish that the Island theme carried out to the exterior, too, but I don't see how that would be possible to do in the modular standard.
