OOC: Could I get away with giving him just night-vision?

OOC: No. He has invisibility, silencing, mega-cutting though stuff, and quaza bursts. The only reason I even allowed it was the huge power drain you put in, which would mean that he wouldn't spend that long in the field compared to the other Heroes.

OOC: Aye, he's fine as-is. I hope there will be a recharging station handy next mission...

IC: Saracen Rune - Rocket Bay.

"We're done here," he reported to Zib, "our shapeshifting foe slunk off, and we've wrecked all of the villain's equipment down here."

IC: Crowley - Sunny Square.

He wasted no time in sneaking out of the hotel and making a run right for the square. He doubted anyone else was likely to offer him a free ride off the planet, so he had no intention of wasting this opportunity.

_______________________________________________________________________________

OOC: Speaking of Crowley, I was hoping to make one small addition to his profile. Given that he's organic, and therefore can't use medbots or repair bays, I feel like he kind of needs a way to recover a little more quickly from his injuries between missions:

After what transpired on Tranquis VII, Crowley uncovered a new quirk of his enhanced anatomy. It turned out he possessed an accelerated healing ability, allowing him to recover from most injuries within a matter of hours, although more significant wounds would likely take up to several days.

Is it okay if I have him ferry all the other Heroes in on a submersible if the target is underwater?

OOC: Maybe not all the other Heroes, but if there is an underwater target, I don't see why he couldn't ferry some of them. :)

IC Kathrine Scarlet:

I I hooked up with the Dropship I'd......well dropped from, and pretty soon I was on my way to my mission manager's office. I still had yet to be assigned a team, but it had been all hands on deck, so I'd been sent out, even though I was a rookie.

Stepping inside with a giant grin on my face, I did a little twirl of excitement. "Soooo~ How'd I do, boss?"

OOC: Please help it won't let me like T. Pecs more than once

IC: Eloise Thumper

Thumper flexed her arms, grinning, and then felt a strange shift in her shoulder plating. A moment later, the arm that had been sparking for half the mission gave a good zap, a few puffs of smoke, and fell limp. She experimentally lifted her wrist and dropped it again before laughing awkwardly. "I... guess I'd better see about heading back home, too."

Thumper followed after a few other Heroes on their way out of the lair.

OOC: Would there be enough time between this mission and the next for Thumper to get repaired? I really want to use her for the next mission.

GM NPC ZIB

"Pretty good, getting the communications back up," Zib said. "Except we evacuated all the civilians. That reminds me. Quadal, go send a message to the space station where the Tranquis civillians were dropped off. Tell them it's clear and they can go home if they want."

He then nodded in response to Saracen.  "That's probably the best we do for now. Mission analysis is taking a look at that strange form, and we'll see if we can come up with something soon."

GM IC TRAFEROUS

Traferous looked as what appeared to be a large beast approached him, with big teeth. It looked to be injured in several places, namely a hole in its side and a mangled mouth. But Traferous suspected it was more intelligent than it appeared, otherwise it would not have understood his announcement. He gritted his teeth in an effort to avoid being condescending.

"Hello," he said, extending his hand in greeting. "As I said before, I'm Traferous. Pleased to meet you."

IC Shade - West Wing Briefing Room:

Shade considered the question before flicking on his blades' quaza link to make the blades glow a faint red. After waiting a few seconds for the effect to sink in, he turned his chameleon field on hiding him from sight. "You can call me Shade. Who are you?" he asked before turning off the quaza link and chameleon generator.

IC: Alex Drift - Tranquis VII extraction point

This was not Drift's day. First: boring extraction job. Second: having to fly citizens back and forth all day when his buddy was out punching people with a crazy buzz-saw-arm-thing. Third: his cockpit had somehow picked up the smell of burnt rubber from Tranquis VII. Hadn't he asked Zib for the exciting missions?

Oh well. Drift touched down on the extraction point and signaled the other ships to do likewise. Once down, he opened the doors and yelled through the intercom, "Alright everybody! We're home! Please exit the craft in an orderly fashion and have a nice day. Next time those brains come pickin' around, just give us a call."

And with the last of them gone, he was onto the fourth sour spot of his day: having to wait for Echo. Drift was too tired to call the other Hero up, so he just sent an "Extract" objective to Echo's HUD and sat back to rest. He really needed a recharge...

IC: Echo - Grand Tranq battle

Echo got the message, but was too busy slashing at the black beast to care. He did, however, relay the transmission to Riot and Stryker.

IC Shade - Briefing Room:

"Pleased to meet you. Do I call you by your first name, last name, both, or do you have a preferred nickname?" Shade swiveled his head towards Striker. "You clearly heard my introduction, but I'm afraid you have the advantage here. What might your name be?" Shade didn't like being treated like second-grade material, but these heroes didn't know him as a person and barely knew what his capabilities/functions were like in the field so he let it slide. Besides, the assassin's secretive existence left him with a want for some rare social time.

IC: Smitty Slink

He decides to leave the planet, with a realization that he really wasn't of help at all to the mission, he's severely underpowered, and needs an upgrade. He leaves a fair bit humbled. He thought whoever had just given that little speech (he couldn't pronounce their name, even internally) seemed a little cocky, but seemed to have good intentions.

OOC: In case I was vague, Slink is going to headquarters, to get an upgrade before the next mission.

IC: Jimmy Abacus

Location: Leaving

Jimmy followed the other heroes, having moved the cuffs to hold both of the 'civilian''s hands behind their back, and now escorting them along for imprisonment for their involvement in Project Sunstorm.

OOC: Consider Abacus sheeped with the rest of the group until they're back at HQ. Anyway, time to re-try this Omega Team leader thing. And just so it's clear, his powers were intended to be insanely destructive, but I guess I'll try nerfing him a bit.

Hero Profile:

Name: Nimius Ardor

Powers and Abilities:

Major:

Blue fire - Can create, control and absorb blue fire, as well as controlling and absorbing any other fire. His flames have the insane potential of reaching up to 1453°C, although if he concentrates enough, he can make them even hotter, with an upper limit of a whopping 1750°C, although a short while of this can completely drain him.

Minor:

Great strength and endurance - Nimius has higher strength than the average hero, and endurance enough to allow him to last much longer due to a special thermo-nuclear quazadite core created specifically to allow his insane heat resistance potential.

Insane heat resistance - His affiliation with fire means he can withstand heat ranges up to a 2000°C safety mark, and a 2730°C upper limit, which he cannot withstand for very long.

Gear: A fire sword that can channel his power into a flame blade that can reach up to 1500°C

Appearance: Tall and brutish, he wears a black cape made of the same insanely heat-resistant material as Nimius himself.

5m7dshV.png

Bio: Development on Nimius’s special attributes began after the events of Tanker Station 22. By the time when Aldous Witch was apprehended, Nimius had already been assembled, and undertaken a few minor missions to hone his skills. After a near-catastrophic event following Nimius showing the true highly destructive potential of his powers, he was moved to the Omega Team; a team of heroes with powers so highly destructive that they are reserved for extreme circumstances only. After preventing a villain from causing the total annihilation of the galaxy, Nimius was made the leader of Omega Team.

OOC: I hope these temperature ranges are a bit more acceptable.

Er, the biography for this Hero is questionable. Who is Ardor? Also, if he is a rogue Hero that doesn't obey Hero Factory orders, he would be better classified as a villain.

Further, this biography seems to preclude him from going on missions with the other characters, which is something I want to avoid. I'm not going to write you your own interaction subplot if I don't even know what it is.

Ardor is Onaku's character, who me and Onaku previously agreed had hired Vandal some time ago to aid in his plans. I suppose Vandal might be better classified as a villain, but he's more neutral. I chose to call him a "hero" in the sense of a species, not a job description.

As for Vandal's past, I'm not really sure why him having a past that happened before the game's events would be a problem...his character still has time to develop, and giving him a past seems like a good way to help that development. Are you saying that you have an issue with something specific in his bio, or are you saying he shouldn't have a bio at all? What do you mean "write me an interaction subplot"?

Thanks in advance~

Making a villain profile...

Name: Dr. Halmos

Powers, Abilities, and Weapons: Halmos is a doctor of engineering, meaning he's skilled at repairing stuff. He wears a noble Rau in orange which allows him to understand unknown languages and bestial communication. After determining he was too slow to be an effective fighter, Halmos designed a device to disguise his internal system as that of a civilian, allowing him to get on the hero's side when he needs it. He carries 20 throwing knives on the inside of his lab coat.

Appearance: Halmos is short enough to get away with being a civilian. He is orange with dark blue marks, and wears a noble Rau in orange on his face. He has a hunch in his back and wears a white lab coat.

Bio: Halmos was a scientist employed to investigate quaza further and see if it was possible to melt it down and put it in people's veins. Proving so, the offices held him prisoner to continue experiments. He got revenge by infecting a traveling Hero, which wrecked everything at Hero Factory and started a war between the two, in which Halmos escaped to Tranquis.

Location: Tranquis, heading towards Traferous.

Not approved. While Halmos can have translation abilities (I'm wondering if those are necessary...I kinda evoke the "everyone in the galaxy speaks English" trope in here to save a headache), he's not going to have an actual Rau...that would mean he traveled into a Bionicle dimension to get it.

This is Hero Factory. I think we have more than enough story opportunities in here without making a crossover mashup. I think that would be the subject of a different RPG.

Biography:

Vandal was built a while ago as a hero, but developed an unforeseen independence. He started questioning orders, doubting his leaders. Eventually he managed to remove his command chip and strike out on his own, travelling across countless worlds in search of fame, glory and wealth. He found life as a mercenary suited him best. Eventually he found Ardor, whose plans held the appealing glint of gold.

Ardor is Onaku's character, who me and Onaku previously agreed had hired Vandal some time ago to aid in his plans. I suppose Vandal might be better classified as a villain, but he's more neutral. I chose to call him a "hero" in the sense of a species, not a job description.

However, because of his nature, this character probably won't start at HQ like the other Heroes, but you probably won't know where until I announce mission #2.

Also, if Ardor is cannot be approved, I will have to ask you to change that backstory.

Villain Profile incoming:

Name: Marrow

Powers and Abilities: Marrow has no powers other than the ability to"smell" quaza, but is extremely fast and brutal, rending through metal and shredding wires with ease. If possible, it always begins a fight with an aerial attack (it can't fly, but uses its exceptional leap and climbing capabilities to get the drop on its opponents). It's also extremely good at hiding in the shadows.

Weapon(s): Marrow is covered head to toe in razor sharp spikes. Its main form of offense is the particularly long pair that emerges from the ends of its arms in place of hands.

Appearance: Marrow is hunched and bird-like in appearance. Vicious spikes sprout from every angle of its twisted form and its arms are unnaturally long and end in jagged blades. It is colored red and black.

Bio: Marrow is something of an enigma. No one is sure where it came from... or how it became so violent. It is driven by a perpetual bloodlust and an insatiable hunger. It feeds on metal and devours quaza, which it can “smell”, giving it a way to track down Heroes. And when Marrow takes down a Hero, they usually don't get back up. After Marrow was finally captured, it was put in maximum security to rot. But then the Breakout happened... and Marrow disappeared.

Yeah, I'll wait till Ardor is approved to play Vandal...if he doesn't get approved at all, I'll edit the bio.

Thanks :D

OOC: No worries, I just wanted to make sure I knew what was going on.

GM IC TRAFEROUS (W/CROWLEY) & ADAM WEST

Traferous noticed Crowley looking at his claws. "Sorry," he said, forcing himself to remain cheerful. "Force of habit."

Shortly thereafter, a dropship swooped down from the sky at high speed, skidding to a halt in a cloud of dust. "Argh," Traferous complained. "I will be driving us back."

I'm going to hold off a verdict, and pose the question to the other players: do you think these temperature ranges are better?

OOC: According to my quick consultation of Doctor Google, the various components of circuit boards and wiring melt at the following temperatures: Silicon at 1,414 °C. Copper at 1,085 °C, and Aluminium at a comparatively low 660.3 °C. This still kind of means that Nimius' flames could still potentially be causing some parts people's internal wiring and circuits to begin melting or falling apart without him even having to actually touch them.

Assuming, of course, that heroes even actually have circuits, or that there isn't some component in a hero that insulates those circuits against heat. If they are, then I have no further objections, so I guess it's up to you to decide whether that's the case or not.

IC: Crowley - Sunny Square.

Gagging on the dust cloud, Crowley cautiously padded towards the ship.

OOC: I actually had a question about Marrow: it mentions it drinks Quaza. How do you drink a crystal? Unless the guy liquidises it first, like a spider. That'd be spooky.

It's a pretty cool design otherwise, don't get me wrong. The Quaza thing was just a little confusing.

IC: Markus Vex - Meeting Room.

"Whatever's easiest for you," he shrugged, beginning to pace while he waited for Zib to show up.

IC Shade - Meeting Room:

How could a hero not care about his own name? Shade decided to put that to the test: "All right then, Marshmallow. Do you know anything about the mission Zib's supposed to brief us on?"

OOC: To Fishers' question: No, Marrow can not fly. It has slightly higher than average jumping and climbing capabilities to make up for it though. I'll edit that into the profile.

To ZippyWhargarrbl's question: I always got the impression that the Hero cores distributed some sort of energized form of quaza throughout the system. Marrow can absorb this energy as well as crush the actual crystal material to powder. Sort of like how Chi had a liquid form and a crystal form...

Update: I changed the profile to say "devours quaza" instead, just to be more clear.

OOC: The Quaza is part of the energy core, which seems to be like a battery. I don't think it distributes crystal anywhere. If it did, where's it going to get it from? The core? You'd run out of core pretty quick.

OOC: I'm going to say that Ardor approved, and profile changes to Marrow approved. The flame powers need to be able to work, so yeah.

I warn you Onaku - you're starting to build a bit of a reputation for building overpowered characters. :P

For quaza - absorbing quaza energy is fine. Quaza is not a liquid, though - it's a rock.

(I'm still sort of waiting for that battle between Aza, Ezec and the others to end...sort of. I'm writing out the mission details ATM.)

OOC: I never said "liquid". I said "energy-form". Going with your interpretation of the quaza cores as batteries, the substance I'm envisioning is like the electricity generated by the battery. Hero cores don't use electricity, they use quaza energy, which is what Marrow can absorb. Your point still stands though, so I'll suppose Marrow will just sort of crunch up any quaza he gets a hold of.

IC: Markus Vex - Meeting Room.

He paused midstride, frowning at Shade. "You know how childish you sound when you make up words, right?"

OOC: Confusingly, Heroes have been shown to have at least a passing knowledge of food. I don't get it, either, but they reference food at least twice in Savage Planet. One mention even implies they eat- Nex (I think?) replies to "This'll be a piece of cake" with "Mm, cake". Hero Factory is a mysterious enigma.

So point is they'll probably know what a marshmallow is. I'm glad I could be here for this incredibly vital information.

IC: Markus Vex - Meeting Room.

He paused midstride, frowning at Shade. "You know how childish you sound when you make up words, right?"

OOC: I was under the same impression as ZippyWharrgarbl regarding Hero Factory and food.

IC Shade - Meeting Room:

Realizing that heroes probably didn't have as wide a selection of variety as an assassin might regarding what food they could choose to eat at mealtime, Shade quickly made to cover his tracks: "What, I can't make up a silly-sounding name to call you by?" Turning to Striker with a grin, Shade said, "If you don't answer my previous question, I'll be forced to make one for you too."

IC John Striker:

The veteran Hero simply cocked an eyebrow.

"I think I liked the old days, when The Factory was full of professionals." He said to Markus. "Well, besides, you of course."

Regarding Shade once more, he said evenly, "John Striker. The fact that you don't know me means you're either new, or it's above your clearance level. Either way, Show some respect."
