GM NPC BLACK PHANTOM

"I would much prefer a visit to Mechron City." said Black Phantom. "I have a message to deliver...and I'm sure they will pay you handsomely indeed. If not, I have other options there as well."

IC: Silvia Raine - Wolf Pup, Makuhero City.

"Very well," she clambered into the cockpit, "Let's get off this rock." With that, the ship rose up off the street, and began its ascent away from the doomed asteroid...

GM NPC MR. MAKURO

"Does a certain robot named Mr. Makuro rank among your creations?" Mr. Makuro said.

IC: The Creator - Hero Factory.

"You don't look like one of mine," he replied warily, momentarily considering the possibility that a single one of his droids had not only learned how to repair and maintain itself, but also how to construct itself a spaceship to escape the planet before its destruction, and then how to create an entire galaxy's worth of new robots.

It seemed unlikely. "So who did create you, and all these other robots? Why?"

GM IC TRAFEROUS (& FRAVI)

Traferous whistled. "We are under attack. Next time, we fire everything and level that blasted building. Everyone ready?"

IC: Mr Vyle - Traferous' Ship.

"With pleasure," he sneered, eager to at last seen his vendetta come to an end.

OOC: New character profile.

Villain(?) Profile:

Name: A duck

Powers, Abilities, & Weapons: Has all the powers and abilities of an ordinary duck. However, her particular species of duck is especially hardy and mean, not to mention territorial. She will chase anyone and anything if they encroach on her territory.

Her diet is very hardy, and she can thrive on gosh darn near anything she can fit down her gullet.

Appearance: A very disgruntled organic duck.

Bio: This duck lived peacefully in a pond in Antropolis, but recent events have left her pond severely damaged and unusable. She is currently searching for a new pond.

Location: Antropolis City

OOC: Well'p, that's that for that. Glad that farce is over.

IC: Nimius Ardor

Location: Critically Wounded - Villain Storage

Nimius slammed into the floor again after one heck of a room spin. There he lay, out of commission mostly due to the damage to his core. If someone didn't come help him and repair the damage, he might surely die...

IC: Jimmy Abacus

Location: Mission Control

"Well... s***!" Jimmy cursed as he saw the size of their opponent's ship. "Alright, I think it's about time we got those shields going!" He called out.

IC: Ken Render - Mission Control

"Can't rush art, pardner," Render mumbled around his chewing wire. He soldered two wires together and then called, "Should be good, fire 'er up!"

IC Helen [Mission Control]:

Just what she wanted to hear.

Not wasting any more time, Helen dashed to the nearest operational console and hit the button for the fail-safe shield, causing the system to thrum with renewed life as it took a moment to fire up. She almost punched the button a second time out of frustration, but finally the new shield began forming around the Tower. "Fail-safe shield is online!" she announced over the comms.

OOC: Here we go again...

Name: Discordia

Character Type: Villain

Powers and Abilities: The Chaos Flame - Discordia can summon a shadowy, fire-like substance from her body, intermingling with what appears to be sparks of blue, green, and purple electricity. In actuality, however, it siphons energy from whoever it hits and transfers it to her, weakening her targets while increasing her own stamina and, in some instances, even allowing her to recover from injuries faster while in a state of rest. While it causes absolutely no physical damage whatsoever, and any burning sensations felt by those targeted by this power is due to its hallucinogenic side-effect, it should also be noted that it has the potential to (at the discretion of the character's player) slowly corrupt those affected by it over an extended period of time if its essence isn't purged from their system, causing them to act more and more selfishly until they devolve into cold-blooded psychopaths.

Probability Manipulation - Discordia can also alter the probability of relatively minor events, increasing and/or decreasing the likelihood of their occurance. Causing some wiring to fray in order to start an electrical fire? Check. Willing a weapon to jam the next time its owner attempted to fire it? Easy. Erroding a steam pipe at just the right time and blasting its contents into the face of someone nearby? No problem. Creating a malfuntion in a pair of Hero Cuffs that temporarily redirects their flightpath, only to end up targeting their previous owners? Hilariously effective. Heck, she's even used it to win the Makuhero Lottery a few times in order to fund some of her more expensive villainous exploits, though it does require a small period of concentration and planning on her part, so she wouldn't be able to interfere with a bullet's trajectory if it had already been fired. Likewise, it also does not allow her to animate, transmute, or change an existing material's state of matter, so transforming a puddle of water into oil or ice or turning a hammer being swung at her face into a bundle of harmless kittens is simply beyond what this power can achieve.

Weapons: Predator Blades - Two pairs of retractable, serrated blades attached to her wrists, perfect for shredding through interior circuitry or disembowling those pesky organics in close-quarters combat.

Appearance: To the horror of her victims (and to young children everywhere), Discordia resembles a strangely attractive, vampiric, goblinesque jester. She wears a tattered, green cloak adorned with feathers of a similar color, as well as blue and gold, and the gunmetal horns protruding from the back of her head and through the hole in her hood resemble the iconic, belled hats commonly worn by those of said profession. Aside from being either pitch black or gunmetal in some areas, her body is a host to a vibrant amount of colors (most of which were hinted at in her Chaos Flame ability) with a few bits of silver and gold thrown into the mix as well.

Needless to say, the palette of her atire is quite eye-catching... which makes it all the more easier for her to pluck them out.

Bio: Not much is known about Discordia's past; her former identity, her homeworld, and the reasons for her descent into villainy remain entirely up for debate. What is known about her, however, is enough to cause even the hardiest of Villains to begin spontaneously leaking oil at the mere mention of her name. She is a remorseless killer and seemingly picks her victims at random, which means that giving her so much as a funny look or questioning her motives or tactics could easily wind up being a death sentence. She also has a habit of leaving a bloody mess almost everywhere she goes, only to spontaneously disapear, which makes tracking her current wherabouts difficult at best, as nobody knows where she is going to strike next. Her titles vary greatly amongst the criminal underworld, with some referring to her as the Emissary of Chaos while others call her the Hellequin of The Hunt.

Despite her cunning and ruthlessness, those who spend enough time in her presence can all agree on one thing, however, and that is that Discordia seems to display signs of some form of advanced mental instability. She can often be heard holding up her end of a conversation within an adjacent room, only for a potential eavesdropper to discover the room completely empty upon her departure, save for the fact that a mirror or some other reflective surface usually remains. Her personality also frequently changes at random intervals as well; one moment, she'll be absolutely ecstatic to toy with people and relish the joys of combat, and the next, she'll display a more devious side, preferring to plan out her actions before executing them swiftly and lethaly without so much as a word.

Either way, those who face Discordia soon learn that not only is she a highly capable fighter, but also a force to be reckoned with.

Faction Name: The Wylde Cards

Moral Alignment: Chaotic Evil (a.k.a. the people willing to kill just about anyone, regardless of sides)

Characters Involved: Discordia (obviously), anybody willing to join so long as they fit the carnival/circus asthetic or are some sort of mutant freak of nature/robotics (will edit and repost in the event that people actually join)

Base/Resources: The Fun House - Formerly known as The Three C's Carnival, Circus, and Casino Resort, this space station was once a failing tourist attraction until one day, Discordia showed up and persuaded its former owners to part ways with their establishment. Or she murdered them in their sleep and used their bodies as stage props, but nobody can really confirm this. Whichever you choose to believe, it has since seen numerous repairs and renovations, and is now open for business once again, acting as a front for the Cards' activities and simultaneously luring in potential victims looking to get away from the boring activities of their daily lives. Since the station itself cannot land safely on planets, and has no readily apparent ties suggesting any form of wrongdoing from within, it is accompanied by several cargo shuttles that are not primarily built for combat and are used mostly to transport supplies.

OOC: I think the only issue I can see with that profile might be this:

Willing a weapon to jam the next time its owner attempted to fire it? Easy.

Generally speaking, weapons are considered to be an extension of the character, and therefore can't be influenced/controlled/destroyed/etc. without the player's permission, otherwise it's usually an autohit. But given the nature of the power in question, this kind of feels like a borderline case, so I'm not really sure.

In reality, it would be posed as just another attack to be reacted to. I have absolutely no intention of using it unfairly.

He blinked slowly, each of his multiple eyes opening and closing one at a time. "You expect me to believe that?" He gaped, incredulous, "That you just woke up in a factory one day, with no sign of your makers, and outlived all of your companions to build yourself a galactic empire out of nothing? Even you must realise how ridiculous that sounds, surely?"

GM IC TRAFEROUS

"Fire!" He mashed a button to launch some ship grenades, as well as lasers, at the building. The grenades exploded against the forcefield, flickering it, which caused some minor heat burns on the Factory's pristine silver paint job. Traferous whirled around and fired the ice and water cannons at the forcefield at once. "Keep firing!" The forcefield should freeze...and possibly explode...

GM IC FRAVI

Fravi's response to the Kestral's hail was to blast flame through the flamethrowers at it, hopefully bathing the enemy ship in a sea of fire.

GM IC DR. LIE

Dr. Lie lowered the power draining net and opened the door to Adam West's prison. The anti-quaza maniac quickly fell into the net, allowing the doctor to drag him back into the hangar with Night Stalker and Marrow

Approaching the two, he shrugged. "It may not look like it, but he can drive."

IC: FOCUS [Kestrel, Space]

Well, that was the last attempt he was going to make.

The Kestrel's shield easily deflected the flames, and thanks to the lack of any real impact, also remained firm and steady. Focus fired a single homing missile at the other ship before activating the Kestrel's charged FTL drive, allowing it to seemingly vanish, reappearing far away in a different sector of space entirely.

"What a waste," he muttered, beginning the charging sequence again as his eyes fell upon Echo's core. "Well... time to see if we can get you put back together, I guess."

After seeing the way Traferous' ship had responded to the attempted hails from the Kestrel, she pulled the New Dawn further away from the battle, not wanting the ark getting caught up in a crossfire.

She just hoped her brother hadn't gotten stuck in one, himself...

IC: Gabriel Bliss and Alex Drift - Makuhero Skies (Cor Solis)

Drift, now in the pilot's seat of the Cor Solis, took his chance when enemy grenades flickered the Factory shield and launched the ship off of the roof with a volley of his own explosives aimed at where the grenades had come from. Bliss, meanwhile, had swapped over to the gunner position and began priming the turret for the next chance he got to fire at the enemy ship.

GM IC TRAFEROUS

Traferous' group felt the impact as the missile hit the outer field, rocking the ship and causing a group of the field to blink out for several seconds before coming online again. An energy cannon on the belly hit the outer hull, punching a minor indentation and burn into the hull. Some of the shots from the ship went awry.

GM IC FRAVI

Fravi grabbed the ship's shell cannon and fired it at Bliss' explosives. The resulting collision was a loud BOOM that was heard on the ship's deck.

The ship had to stop firing to put up its forcefield to avoid being shredded. A few weapons were damaged from the shrapnel from the shell.

"I suppose that sounds strange to you, but that is the way of things in this entire city," Makuro said. "We try not have civilians who work in the factories for that purpose have any special influence over their creations, lest one civilian take advantage of that to build their own personal army of slaves. They deserve the right to live their own lives."

It was then the irony struck him - and he fully expected the being in front of him to point it out. But I built these robots to help others, he thought. Not for my own benefit. It is clear that this being doesn't understand that at all.

"And yet, you not only have influence over the robots you build here, but over every machine in this galaxy. Everywhere I've journeyed since my return to this galaxy shows signs of meddling from your 'Hero Factory'." He glanced idly towards the two bodyguards who'd accompanied Makuro into the room, wondering what they were making of all this, "So as payment for your hypocrisy, I demand that you use that influence to undo the wrongs you and your kind have done."

"When I last explored this galaxy, a little over a half-millennium ago, this galaxy was free." He replied wistfully, recalling the times before the plague, before the war, before the exodus. A time before his planet had been annihilated by solar storms. A time when he'd still had a home. "There were no robots populating its planets, no cybernetic police force dictating how people had to live their lives, no mechanical villains wreaking havoc. IC: Ken Render - Mission Control

He set about fixing the newer shield. "Gotta find a way to steer 'em off. Not too keen on playin' peek-a-boo with these shields for too much longer."

Render glanced very briefly at his supplies, and then at Forticus, before returning to his work. "Hey, pardner, wanna nip to the ship repair bay n' fetch me wunna them mechanic's toolboxes? Might need more tools and odds n' ends if I'm gonna get this place back up to scratch."

~

IC: Dorothy Quark - Whoops Forgot About Rune's Post

Quark frowned slightly at the mention of Antropolis City. She'd fetched Thumper from there, why else did it sound so...

Flood was there.

"What happened at Antropolis?" she asked Rune, dread turning her core to ice. She hoped it was something far, far away from the water, whatever it was.

~

IC: Timothy Gyro - Lost A Friend

Gyro snarled between the villain and the intruders. There was nothing he could do about the villain except hope someone would catch her on the outside, so the intruders would have to take priority. He bit down his anger and called over his shoulder as he turned, "Hey, don't forget to shoot me a Herobook friend request, buddy!"

He flew after the intruders and shot, intent on finishing them off. Kat hadn't come to his aid yet, which meant either she was still fighting the villain, or she went somewhere else. That said, it was eerily quiet from what he could hear from inside the Hero Factory. He tried not to think about that.

~

IC: The duck - Antropolis City

She waddled to the edge of the hole, and quacked. This would not do. This would not do at all. Her pond- her pond- was reduced to a hole in the ground. She could see no water, no algae, no shelter. She did not like this.

She produced a series of mumbling quacks as she tottered away from the hole. Ah, she was incorrect- there was shelter to be had. She climbed on board the flying boat that was resting nearby. She claimed this place as her own, glaring proudly on her domain.

She was very tired from such a long day, and did not want to be out in the open for a nap. Nor was there much of a place to sleep- all possible doors seemed shut tight. She settled with a metal crevice, from which heat emanated. It was a very tight fit and a little oily, but it was warm. She curled up and dreamed of breadcrumbs.

~

IC: Kaiba Blader

Were Blader to be experiencing any semblance of consciousness right now, he would feel a weight settle in his chest. Perhaps it was some semblance of guilt for the atrocities done in the name of his cause.

He would find guilt to feel feathery.

IC: Lilith Specter

Location: Interceptin' thems Destroyers

Lilith gracefully glided through the wall close to the Destroyers that were waltzing away from Gyro. She took aim, and fired her rifle at one of them, straight at their centre of mass.

IC: Andrea Plume

Location: Ship Hangar

Andrea had fortunately managed to get inside the shield before it had gone up, and now landed her ship in one of the factory's ship hangars. She exited her ship, careful not to step too hard on her left leg since it was damaged, and then with a light leap off of her other leg, she began flying off to mission control with her wings. For some reason, her hero frequency no longer yielded any connection to the factory's comm systems. Strange...

IC Helen - Mission Control:

Warning after warning flared across Helen's computer and datapad as the Tower's shield faltered. She prayed that it would hold just a little bit longer, or at least until Render could fix it proper. "Be ready to fire again if that shield comes down," she told Jimmy. "And watch out for the Cor Solis."

She turned back to her datapad in time to see an odd bit of information stream in: a Hero Factory ship had slipped into the hangars at the last second, but it wasn't of any model currently in use. On the contrary, it was quite old. Only a few people there at HF possessed older ships, though rarely were said vessels of HF make. Even stranger was that Helen didn't recognize the pilot at all, despite the Core that adorned the latter's chest...

She opened the comms to a hallway the pilot was passing through. "You have not been cleared to land in our hangar bay," Helen informed her in a flat voice. "Please state your name and business."

IC: Alex Drift and Gabriel Bliss - Makuhero Skies (Cor Solis)

"YEE-HAW!" Drift whooped as he sent the Cor Solis into a sharp nose-dive to avoid any retaliation shots. With a spin of the quad-wings, he flipped the ship around so they were flying belly up, a dangerous tactic, but one that opened up Bliss's  turret up for a perfect shot. "Now!" He yelled.

Bliss pointed the gun at where one of their rockets had just been shot down and unloaded a deadly torrent of .60 caliber rounds. "Eat this!"

IC: Marrow - Traferous's Ship

Marrow's escort pointed to a new arrival and said "Hero". Yes, Marrow could tell he was a Hero from the core, even if it was missing the weird squiggle. The only odd thing was that he was powered by Anti-Quaza instead of the usual stuff. That was a bit strange.

Then the guy with the gun-arm and the hammer pointed at a dropship. So they were giving it a Hero to eat while it rode down to Hero Factory! These people were so nice.

IC: Andrea Plume

Location: Corridor - Hero Factory

"Fifty years? Did your systems crash and wipe out all but the earliest mission logs? I've only been gone for five months..." Andrea stood there a bit confused. "Hey, where's Zib anyway? And how has the city grown so much in five months???" She then asked.

GM NPC MR. MAKURO

"I am sorry, but it simply is not possible," Mr. Makuro said. "Even if we were willing to kill so many of our own people, we simply do not have the power to do so. We have been trying to defeat all the villains here in the galaxy for a very long time. If we cannot kill all of the villains in the galaxy, how can you expect so much of us?"

GM IC BRAIN MASTER (TALKING TO MAX VALE)

"We are going to have to leave this area to allow this ship to feed and recover," said the Brain Master. "If you wish to continue fighting Hero Factory, it would be in your better interest to leave, yes."

GM IC DESTROYERS - 4 - NEAR LILITH, GYRO

The attacks from those Heroes were enough to finish off the remaining Destroyers there.

GM IC ADAM WEST

Adam West eagerly scrambled into the cockpit, ready to drive. "Get onboard," he said in a low growl.

GM IC DR. LIE

"Are you going with them or staying here?" Dr. Lie asked Night Stalker.

GM IC TRAFEROUS

Traferous kept firing his ice cannon at the field. The ice would at least slow the passage of energy, allowing him to get through it with a barrage. He would try THAT, and then if that didn't work too good, he would bomb the side of the island, vibrating out the amperes.

He wondered why no one else was helping, but he supposed it was because of the ship's vibrations. "Come on, guys. We're in the middle of a battle. Stuff generally hits the ship's forcefield when that's going on."

GM IC FRAVI

Fravi was very tempted to ignore the bullets, but the morons were aiming them at the ice cannon, and Traferous wouldn't like his prize being destroyed. So Fravi fired three lasers and began to deploy a machine gun at the Cor Solis, hoping to at least drive it away.

IC: Mr Vyle - Traferous' Ship.

Tearing his gaze away from the spectacle, he headed for the nearest weapon control console, and tried to figure out what it controlled, and how it worked.

IC: The Creator - Hero Factory.

An expression vaguely resembling a frown clouded the creature's features, "I never mentioned killing anyone. Besides, how do you kill something that isn't even alive?"

GM NPC MR. MAKURO

"All of us have independent life," Mr. Makuro said. "You're asking me to destroy all of the robotic life and citizenry this Factory was designed to protect throughout the galaxy, so your organic life can return. I would much rather than all life in the galaxy could live in peace."

GM IC MR. VYLE

In all of the confusion Mr. Vyle had ended up in front of the plasma and energy gun panel, seeing as that was one that Traferous wasn't really seeing a use for. The panel contained a crosshair screen that flickered in between a small ship that was firing bullets and the Hero Factory, which flashed "TARGET SELECT," like some old video game. If Mr. Vyle touched the screen, it would settle on which target was on the screen, and read "PRESS BUTTONS TO FIRE."

Next to the screen was a diagram of the exterior of the ship with four buttons. One was at the top of the ship, one at the front, on in the dead middle, and one in the back.

IC: Mr Vyle - Traferous' Ship.

Now, Vyle was in no way an expert on battling from a space vessel, but from general experience, he knew it was far easier to hit a large, stationary target than a small, moving one.

He set the system's sights on Hero Factory, and tried to make it open fire.

IC: The Creator - Hero Factory.

"You have no lives." For the first time, The Creator's face took on expression of true rage. "You're not alive! You're not real! You're machines, constructs, automatons. You were built, not born. Created to serve, not to conquer. Your kind have no right to take these planets away from those who evolved on them!"

He stopped, mandibles clacking as he breathed hard, forcing himself to relax, "I never asked you to kill or destroy anything, simply remove the invaders, and give the planets back to their original inhabitants. That still leaves you machines plenty of planets, space stations and asteroids to continue your meaningless..." he searched for an appropriate facsimile, "...existences."

IC: Timothy Gyro - The Hole

Gyro nodded to the Hero, drifting towards the hole to the villain lockup. "Uh... thanks a lot, buddy, but I just gotta go check on a friend real quick. Be right back."

He zipped down the hole and into the lockup without waiting for a reply. The room looked like it'd been tossed around some, but he couldn't see Scarlet anywhere. He breathed a sigh of relief- she must have left already- when he saw a figure lying on the ground. He approached slowly. It was Nimius Ardor, apparently he'd been nicked by the sword resting next to his torso and was lying on the floor to mope about it. Gyro grinned and flew over. He and Ardor didn't really see eye to eye, it could be said. Ardor messed with him and gave him flak a lot, and in return, Gyro called him names and dumped him in large bodies of water while he was in sleep mode. So, to see the guy having a sook over a nicked fuel line was pretty funny.

"Hey, if it isn't my old pal-"

He froze. That was... too much oil for a nicked fuel line, now that he was closer...

He stared.

That sword hadn't nicked Nimius. It had impaled him. Gyro landed immediately and ran over. There was no way a villain could get the drop on Ardor. The guy might be a putz, but he had power behind him, a lot of power. The standard Hero Factory First Aid training flew by his mind, but he could only think to check if Ardor was awake by grasping his shoulder and gently slapping at his face. "Hey! Hey, Nimius! C'mon, wake up, wake up..."

IC: Nimius Ardor

Location: I'm not dead!

Nimius was out cold... almost. The facial slapping delivered by Gyro triggered warning signals in him that forced him back into conciousness, at the expense of power. Something he couldn't afford right now. "Gyro, what the he- Aurggghh!" Nimius coughed up internal fluids. "M-my core... I think I may die..." For what might be the first time ever, Gyro could see in Nimius's eyes something he'd probably never felt before. Fear.
