"I am not a coward!" The ghost raged, appearing between Stormer, Weaver, and the advancing Render Roundup. "I am Von Nebula. I'd think after all the battles we fought"- he unfurled his ghostly claw hands - "you would at least show me some proper respect."

IC: Marrow - About To Turn Surge Into Makuroni And Cheese

Marrow took a moment to decide its next move, considering Surge and how to eat him. After a few seconds, it picked the classic "Jump and Bite" technique, a very special move where it jumped and then bit.

IC: Render Roundup - Impromptu Ghostbusting

 

Render was surprised, to say the least. He knew Von Nebula- Quark spoke bitterly of him- but he didn't think the guy was a ghost. Thumper, who knew the name as some kind of dastardly villain, raised her gloves with a clank.

 

Quiver shrunk behind Stormer, fumbling with her rifle.

 

OOC: I don't care how long it takes. I have a plan, and I will not stop until Thumper punches this ghost. Last night, I had a revelation as to how it could be possible. I want- no, I need- to punch this ghost.

Zib might have been leaning over a microphone or something, because she heard. She flippantly waved a hand. "You can set off, Zib. I'll take any stragglers. I gave them fair warning we were leaving."

"Surge!" Stringer yelled, running at the monster to try to bash into it with his shielded blaster.

 

GM NPC SURGE

 

Surge lifted his arms over his head to shield his head as the monster's jaws closed in. Behind him, his wings flared to life. "Oh, right, I have wings," he said. I hope that my earlier attack weakened the creature's jaws.

IC: Marrow - String Cheese?

Marrow crunched down on Surge's arms, numb tongue flailing everywhere as its teeth sunk into the metal. It never got a firm hold however, as Stringer's unexpected charge threw it off balance and dislodged its razor maw. With a hiss, the monster lashed out at the newcomer with one of its arms while trying to get its jaws back around Surge.

"I'm simply waiting for the right time to remove this imbecile from existance. Unlike some other villains who blindly smash into things and act like they are innocent fools, I lurk in the shadows of the night and leave no doubt as to how evil and dispicable I truly am."

IC Jet - Med Bay, Astral:

Being set down was just as painful as being picked up, if not more so. Jet tried his best not to fuss, though. He managed a small wave with his good hand as Bulk left, then allowed himself to fall back onto the bed in wounded little heap. Now that the fear of being eaten was subsiding, the pain from his injuries was beginning to kick in fully. 

IC Wolfe - Quark Qruiser:

Now that he had a moment to himself, Wolfe began replaying the day's events in his mind, trying to make sense of it all. His bout of impudence was quickly fading as feelings of loss set in once again, and he realized it was because he was staring out the window at the sombre wreck that was once the Assembly Tower. So many lives lost. There wouldn't be any way to tell how many of his friends were among them until after the site had been thoroughly searched. Wolfe decided not to think about it, at least not while the remaining Heroes had a mission to complete. 

He slid down the far wall into a sitting position, the charger plugged into his core, and leaned his head back, humming a quiet tune in an effort to distract himself.

IC: Render Roundup - Von Nebuparty

 

Render murmured to Thumper, "I'm gonna put this here villain in a cell. You keep an eye on this, y'hear?"

 

Thumper was staring at the ghostly apparition before her. She considered him thoughtfully. To Render, she said, "Sure."

 

Render moved off to a cell as Thumper carefully approached Von Nebula. She wondered, not for the first time today, if it was possible to punch a ghost, should the situation come to that. She swished a heavily armoured hand experimentally through his midsection.

IC: Jonathan Splint and NPC Georje - Still digging out Ruby

 

The medics had uncovered Ruby's face and most of her upper body. Georje pulled out his diagnostic tool and pointed it at her Core to check her energy levels. Meanwhile, Splint took a step back and started analyzing how to move the massive support pillar that had crushed her legs.

Surge took the opportunity to back out of maw range using his wings.

 

Meanwhile, Marrow's blade arm cracked against Stringer's shield. The sonic hero fired off an sonic blast in retaliation at Marrow's head.

Von Nebula shrugged. "That's because he put me in a staff, and turned me into a ghost. It's all his fault."

 

GM IC 78 EAST

 

78 didn't do anything to fight Render's current actions, except to move her arm off Render's neck in preparation for being set down.

 

Albeit a little reluctantly.

 

GM IC FRAVI

 

Upon seeing 78's current position, Fravi facepalmed. "Hey," she yelled at Stormer and Weaver. "I asked you a question!"

Stormer brightened. "I'll gladly take responsibility for that one, coward."

"But wasn't that because you tried to kill him?" Weaver pressed, passively ignoring Fravi. "I mean, Stormer is far from what I'd call a nice person, but it seems in this case it was just self defence."

The Recall grimaced before eventually lowering his arm.

"Fine," he growled. "But you're still not entering our hangar. Tell me what your ship looks like and what you need off of it, and if it's here, I'll have someone deliver whatever you require to a workspace of your choosing."

He then had a strange feeling that someone aboard the ship was talking about him behind his back, but quickly shrugged it off as he had more pressing issues to deal with.

"You'll continue to be under surveilance, however, so don't even think about trying anything shifty."

 

OOC: Sorry for the late reply; something came up yesterday, and I was too exhausted to post.

He set 78 down in the cell and walked out, setting the bars. "I'll see what I can do about yer book, pardner. You might've noticed things are a lil' hectic right now, so you'll have to excuse the wait."

 

To Fravi, he said, "I can see what I can do about answers. What do you need?"

IC: Eloise Thumper - Learning. Watching. Waiting.

 

Her hand passed right through, and he didn't even seem to notice. She considered this, in silent contemplation. Her gaze drifted to the floor. She mumbled, "If things pass right through you... Why don't you fall through the floor?"

 

OOC: The problem is giving Thumper cause to punch a ghost who is making no threatening moves. Give her time.

Well, the kid had a way at tugging at the old, icy core tubes. Quark glanced at the wreck outside. "We all do, kid. Get on board, you can have a rest. You'll feel better after some downtime."

 

Gyro led Scarlet on board, draping an arm over her shoulders. Quark peered out, looking for anyone else she was missing. Her eyes fell, hesitantly, on the bomb. She couldn't leave it out here, but she didn't much want it on the ship. With a groan, she picked it up and placed it in a cabinet, shutting the door tight. She turned to the others, and pointed to the bomb. "No one is to touch this. Is that understood? I am taking it only so no one accidentally sets it off while it's left here."

He shook his head, "No matter, the important part is aboard the ship, rather than the ship itself. If this vessel has standard airlocks, I should be able initiate a docking that way...."

IC: Marrow - Memories Of Echo

Marrow ducked under the sonic blast, but still got all the feathers on its head ruffled and some of its hearing blanked out from the force of the attack. Ineffectually shaking its head to try and clear the ringing in its ears, it swung its arms wildly at Stringer, not even caring where it hit him anymore.

"What your doing isn't my buisness, Recall," Zib said. "You can take the prisoner to the docks if you want. There isn't any ship docked there, though." He shuddered as he disengaged the communicator.

OOC: Hey guys, I'm back!

 

If I could get an update on what's happened in the past week that'd be great. Also, has anyone bothered to fix Night Stalker yet and is Ruby out yet?

Traferous left and died, Vex and Striker got into a fight, and Surge and Stringer are fighting Marrow.

 

No to both; Von Nebula is running around the villain cells near Night Stalker though.

OOC: Ok great.  I'll start from when she can see light again and work up to where we are now.

 

IC: Ruby

 

When the light first hit her eyes she sighed with relief.  As Splint and the others cleared more of the rubble away she said, "Thank you so much."  As they got most of her upper torso out she tugged at her scythe.  When it wouldn't come out, she checked to see what direction it was pointing and then turned it on, the scarlet blade stabbing upwards out of the rubble.  With a grunt and a wince she tugged it free.  "I can chop this beam up into pieces, just step back a bit first."  Then with a few swift cuts, she does exactly that, slicing the beam into much smaller pieces.  "That's about all I can do with this without cutting myself."

IC: Night Stalker - Ignored and in pain

 

"I don't mean to interrupt your argument over why Von's a ghost and whose fault it is, but I'm slowly dying here.  If you could just get me to the medbay or something then I'll let you be and you can continue your discussion."

Night Stalker looks up at him from his position on the floor, surveys his badly damaged body, then looks up at the hero again.  "I'm full of holes and I can't move my lower half, and you ask how I'm feeling."  He lets his head fall back to the floor with a clank.  "Never been worse in my life.  Just drag slash carry me to the medbay.  I just want to not be in pain at this point."

Render smiled. "Well, pardner, I'd be more worried if you weren't in pain. Stay on the floor, now, and I'll see what I can do about disconnecting your sensors before dragging you off. You'll be numb, but that's better than this, ain't it?"

Render had his blaster at the ready anyway as he switched off the bars. He carefully tried to roll Night Stalker over. "Yer access point's in the neck, right? Most bots' are. Lemme know if you feel a twinge."

Night Stalker let himself be rolled over.  "A blaster?  Really?  The extent of my current abilities is sitting up and then falling back down because it hurts.  Yeah, it is."
