IC: Var Vicious

Location: New Dawn

"Your eagerness to jump into the unknown regardless of my warnings is... worrying to me..." Var hesitated for a moment, then went ahead and followed him. "I will go, but don't think for a moment you've appealed to my sense of curiosity. I'm merely going to make sure you don't get yourself killed and compromise my alliance with your people."

IC: The Creator - New Dawn, Command Bridge.

"Given that your warning basically consisted of 'it's dark in there', I'm not particularly concerned." He replied flatly, brushing a fingertip over one of the elevator's sensory nodes to coax it open, "Are you planning to join us, Max?"

IC: ???- Skeptical

The robot stopped firing, but kept his weapon pointed at the organic's face.

"Really? How do you plan to do that?"

IC: Crowley - Really?

He just stood there, blinking a few times in confusion.

Here he was - a big, lean creature with twisted claws, lots of teeth, and the ability to ooze superheated plasma energy from his skin - standing in the middle of the ship's cockpit, full of all of the sensitive instruments and panels needed to control the ship. Damaging the ship in such a way to leave it incapable of taking off again was so easy he was surprised they hadn't already accidentally done it during their fight.

"Tha... that's what you mechanicals call a... joke... right?" He asked hesitantly, unsure if the robot was being serious.

IC: Eloise Thumper and Mara Quiver - The Astral

They reached the main area, where Forticus was still present, and Thumper flashed Quiver a quick grin as she pulled on her gloves. "I'll see you when we get back from saving the planet!"

"S-Sure," said Quiver meekly. "B-Bye."

As Thumper dashed out, Quiver felt a little sad. Sure, she wouldn't be much good on the mission, but saving planets and big portals sounded very brave and Hero-like. She hoped that one day, she'd be good enough to go along and help.

She walked to Forticus. She was glad he was still here, but couldn't help asking why. "H-Hello. Aren't you g-g-going? I-If you d-duh-don't mind me a-asking, th-that is."

~

IC: Dorothy Quark - With Stormer and Friends

Quark waited with Stormer, glancing over the Heroes that had arrived. She saw none of her teammates- Quiver and Thumper's absences weren't troubling, since no doubt Stormer would have mentioned to her if either had been hurt, and Flood's even less since he was, presumably, still with Furno, investigating whatever they needed to investigate. Furno was quite promising for a Hero, if a bit hot-headed, so she had no doubts that a simple investigation would go along fine.

But then, when are investigations ever simple for us? she thought to herself before shoving the thought aside. She had no time to worry right now. Flood would be fine.

Ah, there was one of hers. Thumper ran out of the ship, nearly tripping on a step as she caught sight of someone in the crowd. Quark followed her gaze and saw Bulk. She sighed, but wasn't surprised. At least this time she was here to keep an eye on them. She might have known Bulk from the early days of Hero Factory- not as well as she knew, say, Stormer or Wolfe, but well enough- but that wasn't going to spare him.

Thumper spotted her, and waved. Quark raised her hand in half a wave back as Thumper took her place with the others, occasionally glancing at Bulk and then looking away with a sheepish grin. Quark shook her head to hide the slight smile that forced its way onto her face.

Render was still absent. What was taking so long? She decided to delay in giving him a call and instead asked Stormer, "What is the current plan for our approach?"

IC: ???- Yes, really

"I have no doubt in my mind that you could render this ship unusable right now, but that hardly qualifies as being able to destroy it. To do that, you would have to damage it to an extent that wouldn't exist anymore as a ship, just a pile of scrap. Either way, that's beside the point. I'm not letting you steal my ship, and you don't seem willing to give up on trying to steal it. I suppose we'll have to work something out."

IC: Crowley - Final Warning.

He glowered, his anger and frustration only growing with each word the obnoxious mechanical uttered. He wasn't even taking Crowley's threat seriously, instead opting to make fun of him for his limited understanding of words and their meanings. "Last chance," he responded, "Give me that key, or we both get stuck here."

IC: ???- Cargo ship

"See, this is one of the reasons why you organics haven't been the dominant life forms in the galaxy for a few millennia now. You're so inflexible."

The robot holstered his gun and began digging through one of the pouches on his belt, apparently searching for the keys. He pulled them out of the pouch, before detaching the keychain and putting that back.

"I'm keeping the keychain, if you don't mind. I kinda like it, and you don't strike me as someone who cares about that sort of thing."

He began to hand the key to the organic, before suddenly flicking his wrist upwards, tossing the key over their head. It landed on the floor of the cockpit, within full view of the robot.

"That's another reason you guys aren't in control any more. You were supposed to catch that."

Little did the organic know, the key was now being pulled to the floor by a strong magnetic field.

IC: Crowley - Ship.

Despite his tenuous grasp of language, Crowley wasn't stupid. He'd survived for months on his own in a number of decidedly awful locales, and knew a thing or two about bluffing and trickery. After all the effort this being had gone through to drive Crowley from the ship, it seemed unlikely that they'd give in to his demands so easily. This had to be a trick or some sort, surely?

But the robot had holstered their firearm, and their sword was in its sheath. They had no obvious means of launching an attack on him in the brief moment it would take him to snatch the keys up off the floor.

Still wary, Crowley turned his head to the side, one eye on the robot, the other on the keys on the floor. Then, gingerly reaching out with his hand, he tried to pick the keys up off the floor between two of his talons.

OOC: Apologies for disappearing again -- on top of having a very busy week (jury duty, ugh) I've been trying to sleep off this nasty pain in my jaw since Sunday. @__@

I guess the best you could do is take them to the place they picked up the charges from.

OOC: Except Hero Factory doesn't seem to care about other planet's laws. For example - not turning Rotor over to his home planet for execution. In Kaiba's case, though, most of the charges against him probably came from Hero Factory itself. So, uh, I guess he can go complain to Makuro or something?

OOC: I doubt HF would have lasted as long as it has by disregarding the laws of other worlds. They probably didn't send Rotor back because a) they were still taking care of paperwork/formalities involved in getting him deported, or b) HF and Rotor's people do not have any sort of criminal deportation agreements. I imagine most planets in this universe do have laws/acts/statutes/etc. that call for mandatory deportation of criminals for certain crimes... but I don't think the story team was gonna worry about telling that to 10-year-olds. ;P

IC Jet - Medbay, Astral:

"Oh, good," he sighed with relief.

IC Flint - Portal:

Ignoring the dashboard instruments flaring in warning, Flint began to tentatively navigate the ship into the massive portal. He gave it a minute to see how the vessel faired, and, satisfied that she would hold, increased his speed and headed for Mechna.

OOC: I know, I know, I'm not supposed to double post, but seeing as how I don't want to edit this into the above post, and it's been almost 24 hours since the last post, I think maybe an exception could be made? This is a profile anyway, so it's not like I'm just double posting ICs or something. Either way, here comes a new villain profile.

Villain Profile:
Name: Whirl

Powers, Abilities, & Weapons: Whirl is frighteningly proficient at using the helicopter blades on his back for flying and manoeuvring in the air. He's also proficient at firearm usage, as well as at fist fighting, and is extremely strong to top. His armour is quite durable, and his internal components aren't very easy to damage. Not that he's by any stretch invincible, he's just a tough nut. He owns two high-power energy pistols that pack quite the punch with each shot.

Appearance: Whirl basically looks like Rotor, but larger, bulkier, but with a sleeker and more advanced looking armour design. The helicopter blades on his back are a bit larger than Rotor's too, and there are several thrusters on his back he can use to assist with manoeuvring. Like Rotor, his armour is orange and black, with some red glowing lines across his armour, and two bright red glowing eyes.

Bio: Built as an improvement on the Rotor design, Whirl was sent out to hunt down and bring back Rotor to their shared homeworld, dead or alive.

OOC: Time to retcon Delta out of Project Hatchet. Since said group never actually interacted with anyone, I don't really think this should pose any problem.

Villain Profile:
Name: Delta

Powers, Abilities, & Weapons:

  • Delta is able to manipulate the fundamental forces of reality in a five meter radius around himself. That includes the Electromagnetic force and Gravity, as well as the weak and strong force. How ever, altering these forces requires equivalent energy from himself, which means he cannot split atoms as he sees fit. Also worth noting is his inexperience in using his powers, meaning he is not yet able to access the full potential of them, leaving him with only crude manipulation of gravity and the electromagnetic force. The electromagnetic force he can only control through either electricity or magnetism, and is incapable of directly altering electromagnetism itself.
  • His "hero core" is nothing like what present day heroes use. Shunning the quaza completely, it instead opts for a singularity matrix, which never has to be recharged as the singularity continues to recharge the power storage units. The power storage units also have far greater energy capacity than present day hero cores, meaning he has more energy at his disposal.

Appearance: Delta looks like nothing from this time period. His form is complex and graceful, the parts all come together to form one being that looks as close to the text book definition of perfection as is possible. His white smooth form is decorated with beautiful hexagonal grid details, contrasting large sections that are plain and smooth. These two elements form an elegant dance across Delta's armour, with the occasional light lines glowing light blue. A light blue glowing delta symbol is indented into the centre of his smooth and beautifully curved chestplate. His face is completely smooth, aside from the cheeks which are indented and decorated with the same hexagon grid detailing as the other parts of his body. The eye holes are angled rhomboids, through which can be seen light blue glowing eyes that seem to extend all the way under the holes.

Bio: Delta comes from a far future, and was constructed only a relatively short while before leaving his own time period. It is unknown how he managed to get back into the past, but any knowledge he has is of events that happened shortly before his time period, which means he has no knowledge of any events in the soon to come future.

IC: Mara Quiver - The Astral

She nodded, carefully sitting beside him with her knees pulled up towards her torso and her gun tucked safely between her chest and knees. Even with the quiet, quick respite on the chargers, she still felt like she hadn't fully caught up with everything that had happened. Her sadness at her home, destroyed and beyond repair, was crammed as firmly as she could get it into the back of her mind, but she couldn't quite get all of it to stay there. She would have liked to maybe pick through the rubble a little. Maybe see if any of her models survived. Even as she thought that, she felt guilt. People lost their lives in that explosion, and here she was, thinking about her little toy ships. She stifled a sob.

"I-Is it okay i-if I... if I stay w-with you? For a l-little while?" she asked, her voice wavering slightly. "It's j-just, the other a-are g-g-going to g-go on the muh-mission, and I... I'm not g-good enough yet. Ellie s-said I could g-guard the sh-ship, and if y-you're here t-too... c-can we g-guard t-together? I... I d-duh-don't want to b-be alone."

Necrissia gently stretched one hand out, and lightly touched her black, pointy-taloned fingers on it. "Hmmmmm... yes, I can still feel a lingering of structure... hmmm... the details... they escape me... but the overall shape... the accents... the functionality of the components... I can see them... yes... I can see them clearly now." Necrissia's visage moved up at Focus. "Summon Franklin. I will need his assistance with this next step."

OOC: So, things have been a little slow around here- I'm pretty sure Fishers has been super busy lately with something. I was thinking of taking over Stormer, so at least some of us are being nudged along in the right direction- I don't know what Stormer's/Fishers' plan is, and I'm not sure if we know enough as players to get the ball proper rolling, but I can at least try and get some player interaction going until she gets back. Does anyone know if Stormer's available for players to play as for interaction? I'm pretty sure he's a green NPC, but I'm not entirely sure he's allowed to be played with. Augh, taking over NPCs is hard. >:v

IC: ???- All part of his evil plan

The organic would find their attempts to retrieve the key unsuccessful, as it felt like it was attached to the ship. The robot made no obvious attempts to take advantage of the situation, appearing to be unaware of the organic's struggle.

IC: Crowley - Not Impressed.

"This is not funny," he growled, turning his full attention back to the robot. He'd seen the machine cling to the side of the ship, and send slivers of metal flying through the air. This had to be the same thing.

There was a word for that... the force that attracted metal to metal... He couldn't remember.
