It had its highlights, such as the Piraka posing as Toa on their arrival, but overall it stuck out like a sore thumb.Matoro's death, because people won't shut up about it.I didn't like that the Toa Ignika was just kinda there... And then wasn't. It was odd.The Bara Magna arc. If it had gone on for longer, I may have come to like it. Otherwise though, a completely new world with new-but-basically-the-same-thing-as-before, no Kanohi and no real diversity of environment was disappointing.As for sets...The Toa Nuva's masks were awful. They themselves were fine, but their masks weren't. Big and gloopy wasn't really a very... Bionicle-y aesthetic.The Bohrok Kal. Even as a kid, I thought them being a rehash was a little disappointing.The Toa Inika. Eugh. They marked the beginning of Bionicle's decline with a pearly white grin on their rubbery, useless faces.Kalmah was the worst Barraki.The 2008 Matoran were disappointing. I think it was a case of trying to connect things that really didn't need to be connected. Like the 'Anakin built C3PO' in the Star Wars prequels.
