Bionicle: The Journey to One casting predictions and hopes

Recommended Posts

Here's what I'm thinking. Idris Elba as everyone.

I've said it in another topic a while ago, and I'll repeat it here: Morgan Freeman as everyone. That would be interesting to see play out.

Nicolas Cage as everyone. :P

I'm beginning to detect a trend. :P

I'm not picky about who should play whom, though to be honest I'd prefer professional voice actors over major Hollywood stars. People who specialize in voice acting are not only cheaper to cast than A-list celebrities, but in many cases they also do a much better job, tending to create a distinct voice for the character as opposed to just using their own normal voice. Heck, that's a big part of why I can't come up with a full list—you never really know what a skilled voice actor will sound like for a character until they bring their talent to auditions.

On that note, Mel Blanc as everyone.... If he weren't dead, that is...

The narrator as the male Toa, a female actor for Gali. Someone more evil sounding for the villains.

No, I would definitely not like that. You can have a narrator voicing every one of the characters, or you can have individual voice actors, but if you try to have it both ways it will just wind up sounding stilted and awkward, like the classic theme's audio serials. There's a reason audiobooks generally stick to a single narrator—changing much more than the inflection of a single narrator's voice can ruin the flow of a story, unless you plan to have EVERY character voiced individually.

*tries to think of voice actors I know from things that aren't anime*

*forced to confront my weeabo trash lifestyle*

*feels like this is a good place for a Vic Mignogna joke but too lazy to properly construct one*

But anyway, Chris Sabbat for Onua, as a roundabout way of having Major Alex Louis Armstrong as a Toa.  Onua does have canon dialogue regarding the Protector masks being passed down FOR GENERATIONS! (Island of Lost Masks)

...Eh, as for what to expect, who knows, I'm no good at serious guesses.

Can I get Arnold Schwarzenegger voicing Onua? Or even Samuel L Jackson narrating the show? :P

If we had a narrator for everything, we could just get any celebrity with tons of free time, regardless of who they are.

As for individual actors donating their voices, I'm not sure who would be suited to the roles.

Jason Statham as Pohatu...Dylan O'Brien as Lewa...Pauley Perrette as Gali...Steve Blum as Kopaka...The Rock as Onua...Peter Cullen as Tahu...Gary Oldman as Ekimu...Hugo Weaving as Kulta...Mark Hamill as Skull Slicer.

My god, Peter Cullen as Tahu? That would be amazing.

"Toa, move out!"

"Makuta... By the end of this day, Six shall stand, One shall fall."

I want to say that I would watch it regardless of what even happens if anybody was voiced by either Cullen, or Nathan Fillion. Sadly, there's no way it'd actually happen, but I can dream, cant I?

If we had Tahu voiced by Peter Cullen, I'd hope he'd do a rather different voice than he does for Optimus. Optimus Prime, at least incarnations I've seen, is calm, methodical, and wise, traits reflected in Cullen's voice for him.. and traits emphatically not shared with Tahu.

I think the narrator is on the right track with his voice-- something kinda gruff, very brash.

Whoever voices the other characters, it would be nice if the animation narrator voiced Narmoto.

That way, LEGO could confirm that the animations are a story told by Narmoto, giving an in-story explaination to the single voice and the focus on Tahu's journey.

I'd actually prefer the narrator to stay on as Pohatu over Narmoto - in part because its kinda iffy as to whether Narmoto will even appear again anyway, and in part because I really like his Pohatu voice and it would take a lot for another VA to meet the bar it sets.

I picture Peter Cullen doing something more along the lines of his G1 Ironhide voice. Also, Jess Harnell - the voice of movie Ironhide - might be fitting for Tahu.

Charlie from its always sunny as Lewa

Tina fey as gali

James earl jones as narmoto

The guy who did bender as everyone else

Ah, Charlie Day...he was funny in Pacific Rim. I could see him as Lewa.

Nice to see all the responses. Tara Strong as Gali. That woman is really talented so I see no reason why she couldn't. Plus I think there is a chance of this happening as a couple of people she works with on FIM have been involved with lego before (including bionicle).

It's just that... Tara Strong voices SO MANY CHARACTERS, and she's so often typecasted to use the same "default" voice and... it just gets annoying after a while, you know? Like you hear a character speak and it becomes impossible for you to think "This is Gali speaking," you just think "This is Tara Strong speaking."

I dunno. That's kind of how it is for me when voice actors get known for using one voice most of the time. I love her more out there performances, like Raven in Teen Titans, but that doesn't happen much.

I kind of hope they just get the Mask of Light cast... I mean how hard could it be? Most of them were on Ninjago or Chima anyway.

I don't think they would quite work, at least not doing the same voices. Maybe Tahu would, with his usual hot-headed attitude, and I guess the Token Girl always has pretty much the same voice, but Lewa's nature-loving carefree voice doesn't quite fit the more bitingly sarcastic Lewa of G2, Onua's gruff, boisterous characterization didn't even fit him back then, and Pohatu has definitely changed too much for his friendly voice to be fitting.

Tahu: Scott Mcneil (Did an amazing job in Mask of Light, and I would love to see him come back.)

Lewa: Jerry Jewell

Gali: Laura Bailey

Pohatu: Patrick Seitz

Kopaka: Steve Blum

Onua: Christopher Sabat

Every single time I see one of these casting topics, I see the same set of celebrity actors picked for everyone. At least I haven't seen anyone say Jennifer Lawrence yet. (Cause yeah, she would totally voice characters in a Lego netflix series. ;) )

Kopaka: Steve Blum

The rumor goes that Steve Blum was the voice of Kopaka in BIONICLE the Game.

So far, I haven't seen anyone else mention Jason Statham, Dylan O'Brien, or Pauley Perrette...and yeah, Jennifer Lawrence is far too busy with other things right now. Although she's done with Hunger Games and will soon be done with X-Men, so ya never know.
