Do you talk to your Bionicle sets? Or did you?

No shame here. Seriously.

Interesting poll, and I think I fell in line with what Rahkshi Lalonde was talking about above. I would talk to them in the sense that I'd narrate conversations between them, or yes, do the whole action phrases thing.

Does having them fight while adding my own sound effects count too? : P

And no, this doesn't happen anymore. I may or may not still swoosh my Star Wars sets around, but that's another topic.

Zaktan tells me to kill my family all the time. That doesn't happen with you guys?

I did give them voices and narrate battles and such, but no, I've never directly talked to them.

I talked to them a lot when I was younger. Today, I still do, mainly when I'm building, modifying, or MOCing with them. Things like, "Alrighty, let's see what we can do to you," or, if I'm replacing a broken piece, "Let's see what ails you, my friend. You'll be all better soon."

You know, just like those guys who talk to their cars while working on them. :)

As a kid, yes, although it was more me giving them voices while playing with them - Bionicle is the main reason I can do an American accent now, as most of the voices I gave my characters during roleplay were Americanised. Also, there was a short period at school where I'd have a figure on my desk with me, who I'd tell to sit down/stand guard while posing them appropriately.

As I got older however, playing with my figures became more of a rarity. Nowadays, the most I'll do is fiddle about with them and pose them in new ways, or set off their functions. I may mimick a character's voice while trying to percieve what they're like, but not often. Most of what I say to them now is expletive, generally when they topple over or crumple.

Never talked to my Bionicles... The only non-human thing ive ever really talked to would be cats and other animals of the sort.

As others have as well, Me and my brother used to have Bionicles talk and fight each other... made whole stories out of it infact!

I'm twenty now, and he's five years older then me... He'll still occasionally take them off the shelf and have them say a few things and duke eachother out every once in a while, and sometimes ill take part; it's the same part of the kid inside us that never quite grew up I think, that keeps me coming back to this site and still drawing them, I guess...  :P

sorta do. Back when I was, like, seven, I rummaged around my Big Box o' BonklesTM and, while making MOCs, I'd end up talking to individual parts when I was frustrated on not being able to find them. Things like 'Where are you, Bohrok Tooth?! If I don't find you within thirty seconds I'm gonna chuck you in the garbage after I'm done with you!'

(Sorry about the poorly-worded run-on sentence. I'm exhausted right now.)

I must confess that I still do this.

I'm sorry.
