The livestream started a bit earlier this week than usual, but at least I didn't miss much (and once it was all done, I was able to watch the recording to see the first few minutes). Finished up the Simpsons level with battles against Lord Business and the Joker, and then level three was Ninjago, with battles against Sarumon, Lex Luthor, and Master Chen. Very interesting seeing all these worlds mix together like this.

 

Based on what I'm seeing, it looks like much of the gameplay involves moving the physical characters around on the toypad, especially when you need to use those keystones. The one recovered in the first level uses portals, the one from the second level seems to be for matching a color-coded pattern, and I assume the third one that was just recovered in the Ninjago level will use elemental powers of some kind.

 

Also, I couldn't help but notice that certain kinds of background music that was used in the LEGO Movie Videogame is also used in this game. Having never played any other recent Lego game, I have no idea if other music files have been recycled from some other games too. (Though I'm sure there's still plenty of original music too, such as on the Simpsons level.)
