I do think the silver Mask of Light looks a little out-of-place. I'd recommend one of the Golden Masks from G2 instead. Also, I think Takua would look better with less blue and more red. Part of the charm of his blue mask was that it was supposed to clash with his color scheme in 2001. These are just nitpicks, of course. On the whole, these are very nice models. For Takua I am waiting on a Bricklink order for new pieces, so he can have a completely black skeleton frame without the trans blue pieces. I also bought enough skeleton pieces that I am hoping to do G2 style Jaller, Hahli, and other Matoran/Villager builds in the future. Jaller and Hahli have perfect G2 mask matches, with the Gold Mask of Fire, and the Blue Mask of Water respectively. I also got a Protector Mask of Fire of Bricklink, so maybe I could do a generic Fire Villager to go along with Takua and Jaller. On the Mask of Light; I personally like it, but I can see what you mean saying a golden G2 mask might fight the style better. The only G2 gold mask though which resembles the Avohki seems to be the Mask of Creation though, and that mask is iconic in its own right that Takanuva with a Mask of Creation might look more like "Toa Ekimu" than Takanuva. The gold Mask of Light might work, but it is a different color than the "New Gold" and also fetches a higher price on Bricklink. Quote All aboard the hype train! Xboxtravis Posted November 2, 2015 Author Share Posted November 2, 2015 I could see the Gold Mask of Water as an Avohki substitute, now that it has been mentioned I have noticed the Mask of Water has similar sweeping curves as the Avohki which come of the side of the mask. I don't think I would use the Blue Mask of Water though for Takua, since if he is using the MoW for Takanuva, it would look to similar. So here are my mask ideas then summed up so far: Takanuva: Pearl Silver Avohki, or Gold Mask of WaterTakua: Protector of Water MaskJaller: Gold Mask of Fire (Toa Jaller? Protector of Fire Mask?)Hahli: Blue Mask of Water I have also thought about how Hewki's original color is Burnt Orange exactly like Pohatu's new colors, so maybe he might be getting a Gen 2 MOC sometime too. Seeing there are only 200 of those things in existence; and I don't have plans to shell the money out for one, I will have to go for either the solid blue Mask of Water or use the classic Trans Blue Kaukau. I think the solid G2 Solid Blue Mask of Water fits the G2 ascetic more, but the Kaukau would sure bring back memories. Quote All aboard the hype train!
