what's chima

In short, Legends of Chima was a LEGO theme about different tribes of anthropomorphic animals living in a world balanced by energy orbs called Chi. Evil tribes rise up and try to steal all the Chi for themselves, which is frowned upon, and the good animal people fight back. There are all sorts of different animal-themed vehicles and there were a lot of imaginative designs. I never bought even one set, but I watched the whole TV show. Basically, Chima as a whole wasn't horrible, but LEGO's done far better.

When I first saw the name, I thought it said legends of china. Oops. :embarrassed:

Anyway, I liked the line, it was cool to see anthropomorphic animals in a Lego theme, the sets were pretty imaginative and while I didn't pay too much attention to the show, I thought it looked decent enough. The minifgures were my favorite part for some reason, it could be the head molds, the printing or just the look of the figures. Seeing Sibress's head underneath her animal mold made me wish there would be some more light blue hairpieces. The CCBS sets were also great since they provided more prints & pieces in unique colors.

Not sorry to see it go. I've actually looked in here a few times in the past months and been like... why is it still around? Like five threads and most of them are barely alive.

Chima was a nice theme. The first three episodes of the show didn't speak to me enough to motivate me to keep watching. But I liked the sets, the characters, and the storybooks. Someday I'll catch up on what I missed, and maybe I'll regret not paying more attention or collecting more of the sets. The ones I did get were brilliant!

Overall, Chima never took off the way LEGO hoped it would, but it enjoyed a moderately successful run. I think it'll be remembered well in the long run.

R.I.P Tribal Furries at war subforum, I didn't know I could care less about a thing until you showed up.

This is so true, it hurts. (NOTE: I don't hate or dislike Furries, I'm just pointing out the obvious.)
