Month of Ice Begins on LEGO Bionicle Facebook Page

Recommended Posts

The Month of Earth has ended, and now the LEGO Bionicle Facebook page has declared December the Month of Ice, a fitting choice with the impending arrival of winter. To celebrate, they've shared a new painting by LEGO Group senior designer Matt Betteker to ring in the new month, this time featuring Kopaka surveying the Region of Ice as the other five Toa engage in a snowball fight in the background! Follow the link above to see the new artwork!

This has to be my favorite piece of art from Matt Betteker, yet; closely behind is this. I really like the level of activity the other Toa are performing and Kopaka's very suitable stance. Also, I feel that the colors within the environment flow together very, very smoothly. I can't wait to see how the Month of Ice creation goes when shown off later.

My brother got a signed copy of that Gali painting in the live charity auction at BrickFair Virginia this year! We've gotten it framed. Still need to hang it on the wall though.

Very cool, dude! :) (thumbs up)

Anyway, these are beautiful Month of Ice pictures!:D It's interesting and funny that the Toa are throwing snowing at each other. Man, things are getting cool (Get it?).:)

Funny thing is that Kopaka's arms are a bit short. They look strange that way.

I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!:)

Is it just me, or does it look like Tahu has a force field around him? You can kind of see an red-ish outline in front of him in the background of the artwork. I wonder what it's suppose to mean.

Anyways, Kopaka looks great in this. It looks like the artist made the gold sections on his chest smaller than that of the set, which I think makes him look better here than his set form. His arms do look a little short though, but that is only a minor complaint about him.

Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.

My interpretation is that he's using his fire powers to shield himself from snowballs. Which, considering that one Onua has, is probably wise. :P
