BZPower in 2015

So, what are your favorite memories from this site in 2015, now that the year is coming to a close?

Mine would be finishing up my epic, Extermination. I remember having tons of fun writing it and seeing the reactions as the chapters were posted; I waited so long for the final scenes of Chapter 2 and the pay off was exactly as I'd hoped :P.

I aso enjoyed hosting the Clockwork games while that lasted.

I also have another good memory but it's too dangerous to be shared, may it rest in peace ;__;

Howdy,

Hm, I'd say mine was getting back into comic making. More specifically, I would say reaching over 100 comics in season 3 of my series. Oh and reaching 1000 posts finally, it only took 6 years… As well as being able to help out people or give reviews of their works. I thought that was pretty neat. I think if I may be honest, my favorite thing about this site is seeing other people's work and my own work improve. I feel like it's because of this site that I've been able to grow as a person, because of the people I've met, the conversations I have had and the situations I have been placed in. You could've asked me years ago, "What do you think of my animation I made?" and I would've told you, "That looks cool," but now because of this site, I've felt the opportunity to research how animation works. I know how to do this and I know how to do that. I can formally give my opinion on something that can hopefully benefit someone else. Especially in more recent times, my opinion has definitely changed in regards to my own hobbies. Years ago I took any insult to my work personally but now I really don't care. There's a reason I do things that I do and there's a reason some of my work is the quality that it is. I can take criticism in stride now and it's a pretty great feeling. Why dish out what I can't take?

So whats my favorite thing about BZPower this year? That would be me growing more as a person. And reaching over 100 comics in season 3 of my series… and reaching 1000 posts finally… and participating in the first Secret Santa… But yeah, it's been a fun year. I'm glad I've been able to be a part of the site this year. It definitely has been interesting.

Writing Vanquished Alliance was definitely my biggest moment. It never got very much fame outside of the Kanohi Force crowd, but it was still a great achievement for me as both a BZPower member and as a writer. Through it I also helped to develop the Kanohi Force lore, which is still being expanded on to this day.

This year was filled with good memories for me. For starters, I won my first Bionifight. I also participated in Bionifight: Last Horizon. I hosted Bionicle Mafia: The Luroka Coefficients, and won A CLOCKWORK SPIRAL. Later, I hosted BIONICLE HITMAN X2: AFTERBIRTH, and Cards Against BZPower. All in all, this year was pretty good.

EDIT: Also having more profile views than Black Six, Becoming head RNGod, and becoming a Premier Outstanding BZPower Citizen were pretty neat.

EDIT 2: Oh and Bionicle Speed Racers, and Technic Tournament 2!

I guess mine would be finally becoming a Premier Member of the site. I know its not the most exciting thing to happen to a member here, but at least I now have a blog where I can post my thoughts on stuff. :)

Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.

My favourite part? Bionifight Infinite, obviously!

Oh, and participating in the various Contests (none of which I won), Participating in Fishers' Bionicle Speed Racers, and... That's about all that I find noteworthy.

Here's to 2016!

I guess it's not fair to say "all of it?"

My favorite part of 2015 was just finding BZP again, after several years of inactivity. I guess my favorite moments were getting featured, joining the YouTube channel, sending MOCs on the Convention Circuit, and of course complaining about all the Bionicle sets in Bionicle Discussion.  :tounge:

Oh and definitely participating in the contests - BBC Contests, Flickr Contests, BFTGM, and the Journey to Netflix contest. That was all new to me, and they're really fun activities.

My favorite Bionicle memory this year is being able to see all the animations months before we were supposed to. Thanks, Lego YouTube team!

Also, one of my threads made the front page! How many of yours made the front page?

A few of mine did, actually, and it's definitely pretty cool each time. The key is to be active in the creative outlet. :P

Though technically off-site, I would have to say my participation in the BrickFair Funk music video.

On-site, I finally finished a writing project in The Adventures of Sumiki's Dad. Having started epics in the past and never finishing them, I was glad to be able to stick to a writing project and have a fictional universe with a following. (Perhaps it was easier because it was a comedy.)

TWO. :P

Man, this year was rockin'. I finally got to host an HF RPG, something I've wanted to do for YEARS. Also I finally finished yonder epic, even if I haven't finished posting it, and no one cares to read it. :P

Then there was the smashing Mask of Ultimate Power game, which spawned a sequel and Bionicle Speed Racers, which a lot of people liked for some reason.

I also got to host a Mafia Game, so that was pretty cool. I think I might have won one too. :shrugs:

And then there was Bionifight Infinite...dang, that RPG was good. I also remember Corpus Rahkshi started this year, even though I didn't play it.

It's been a real whirlwind of a year...I'm pretty sure I'm not thinking of something. I think there was a big discussion over Mata Nui's robot's size back in March that's going to stick with me for a very long time. I think it was in March. And then there was that moment in January when I walked into the Lego Store and bought all the Toa sets...and then can home to build and review all of them on my blog. Which reminds me that I got to meet DeeVee too this year. Crazy.

I jammed too much into one year. I should be ashamed of myself.

Well, for starters, this was the year of the Kanohi Force, a club started by myself and six others on here. We're still going strong, and we've increased in numbers and expanded our horizons. So that's been good, even though there were a few bouts of infighting. :)

Also, this was the year that I tried to be more involved with the conventions, so getting to meet more BZP members in person and just talking with 'em made me feel even more a part of the community. Fun times.

Started a few projects and helped others out with theirs.

I feel like there was something else....

Oh, right. BIONICLE came back. :P That was a pretty big deal, since it helped reinvigorate the members and gave this place new life.

For me, the most memorable part of 2015 on this site would definitely have to be Twitch Tuesdays. Before then, I was never really interested in any of the Lego video games (except for those with "Bionicle" or "Lego Movie" in their title). I started watching the stream because I was simply interested in watching someone else play the Lego Movie Videogame, but once I decided to stick around and watch other Lego games, I realized that they all look like they could be quite fun, so I recently took advantage of a sale on Steam and bought 13 Lego games for less than $80. I don't know when I'll be able to find the time to play them, but I'm certainly looking forward to it (as well as watching more Twitch Tuesdays).

Formerly known as Takanuva's Symbol, I rejoined BZPower on October 10, 2012.

These days, I am perhaps best known for my obsession with all Lego video games.

Becoming a news reporter is possibly the highest point for me. It gave me a way to make the time I spend looking for LEGO news on the Internet feel more useful. I do have some regrets, of course. I never ended up writing up a recap of my time on the LEGO Inside Tour because I was afraid it would seem more like bragging about all the cool things I got to do than an actual news story. And I still haven't figured out how to upload images via FTP, though I have plenty of time to figure that out. But overall it's been amazing just being able to feel useful to the community.

Of course, I also enjoyed spending time with other BZPower members at BrickUniverse Raleigh, BrickFair Virginia, and BrickFair New Jersey. By now I've pretty much come to expect that at any convention I attend. :)

i think i touched up the pinned RPG thread in OTC at some point last year

maybe

and by "touch up" i mean make it readable all the links are broken im pretty sure (things get deleted, i get lazy, fight me)

but i haven't been much of a presence on here last year, i feel like i tried to rejoin the bzprpg (i really liked my character concept) but then i got a job, went back to school, and worked on an important creative writing endeavor that basically took all that time i initially had away. kinda sad about it, in retrospect.

i mean i can list off things im not proud of lol

The end of the year was pretty good for 2015, I gained the ability to buy stuff from Bricklink, I accomplished my goal of getting 2 of the Jango Constraction, and I got closer than I ever have to getting every set of a wave within the year in which it was released. And I also entered Empire Gives Back, which turned out this year to be a really good choice.
