Akamai and Wairuha 2016

Hi everyone, I have something fairly unusual for you all: an attempt at making the classic Toa Kaita from the new Uniter sets!

Disclaimer time: The leg design for Wairuha was directly inspired by JakTheMad's Ultimate Wairuha on the BZPower Flickr Group. HOWEVER, this, along with the rest of Wairuha, has been reworked, redesigned, and customized to use only pieces from the Uniters and suit my personal style of building. While Akamai does use some similar techniques, he is even further removed from the original source (Not that you can tell :P ). None of this is meant to infringe on or take credit for JakTheMad's innovative design. If the similarities are here considered problematic, I have no issue with this topic being dragged to the pit by Botar. :)

I tried to incorporate as many features from the Uniters as possible; Both figures have a full waist swivel function and can unite with most of the creatures. The weapons can switch between two one-handed weapons and one two-handed weapon per figure. Akamai's weapon hilariously features Onua's six-shooter, Tahu's extending blade function, and Pohatu's wrecking ball in one goofy-looking gadget. Also, if anyone wants to build these guys, I'll be working on step-by-step instructions for them.

Thanks for checking this out!

I'm a big fan of both Akamai and Wairuha, so seeing them done with all the new sets is very cool. You did a really good job at making imposing combiners without being too bulky or disproportionate.

If I had to give a criticism I'd say the weapons seem a bit crazy as two handed weapons, but that's more of my personal preference.
