Lewa, Uniter of Jungle Character Video Released on Facebook

Recommended Posts

The official LEGO Bionicle Facebook page has released the second Bionicle 2016 character video, this time focusing on Lewa, Uniter of Jungle. In this 15-second video (made up of clips from LEGO Bionicle: The Journey to One), Lewa shows off his elemental Jungle abilities as well as his incredible agility and his ability to fly when united with Uxar, Creature of Jungle. We also see him fight some Skull Spiders, which are apparently not out of the picture just yet. Follow the link above to watch the video!

So they are pronouncing Lewa differently than they used to (LEE-wah instead of LAY-wah). The change doesn't bother me at all, but it is weird that they changed it.

Its great to see some Skull Spiders in this. I'm glad that they are not out of the story just yet.

And maybe, just maybe, this could mean that some of the Skull Villains could make an appearance as well. Like the Skull Warriors and Skull Scorpios, for example. I would really like to see them in this if possible.

Oh, and I guess I should also say that Lewa looks great here. :)

Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.

"LEE-wah" is how it was pronounced in last year's webisodes, as well as how it was pronounced in Bionicle: Mask of Light. Since those are the main places I'm used to hearing it out loud, it would probably be more jarring to me if they had used the official G1 pronunciation "LAY-wah".

Maybe LoSS could show up again, try to get revenge, and get beaten up again. They could make it a running joke where LoSS shows up and gets defeated every year. :P

It has been a while since I have seen MoL, so I just assumed that the pronunciation found on BS01 was how it was said. Now I am confused as to why BS01's pronunciation is different from what it is usually pronounced as.

Man, I love the animation! It's great to see Lewa using his Jungle powers. It's very amazing that he pushed a bunch of trees away from him and use roots from underground to surprise attack little enemies. Plus, I think I saw a Skull Spider, too. It's always great to see it return in 2016.:)

I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!:)

Considering all the ways Lewa has been pronounced over the years... I recall in one of the set reveal videos, the designers from Denmark called him "Layva". So if their "w" sounds like a /v/, that means they now call him "Leeva"... which is exactly the same as how the narrator for the web series  pronounces the word "lever"...

So a Dane watching the English language web series would be very confused by this exchange:

Lewa: What... happened?

Onua: I hit the Lewa!

Lewa: Without breaking anything?
