Toy Fair is Coming

Recommended Posts

This weekend, all the largest toy manufacturers will descend upon New York City for the Toy Industry Association's Toy Fair. As always, BZPower will be on-site bringing you images and news of all the upcoming LEGO sets for 2016. Starting at 7 AM Eastern Time on Saturday, February 13th, you can watch our social media channels for pictures, info, and maybe some videos of the new sets. Make sure you're subscribed or following our Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook accounts to see all there is to see. Then, beginning Sunday, February 14th, we'll be posting more in-depth coverage here on BZPower. If there's anything you'd like to see in particular, tell us in the Talkback!

I'm sure pretty much everybody's going to want to see Bionicle pics. If you could get pics of the back of some of the sets that'd be great, since a lot of other LEGO news sites don't bother with that, and it'd make it easier to figure out what kinds of functions they have. My brother and I appreciated the pics of the back of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader buildable figures last year.

Personally, what I'm most interested in seeing are detailed pics of the LEGO Ninjago and LEGO Elves sets, especially the ones coming out in the summer. Pics of the summer LEGO Nexo Knights sets would also be much appreciated. Those action/adventure themes are my jam!

If they show any Star Wars buildable figures besides the ones that are already out then those'd be good to see, but I'm not necessarily counting on it (LEGO and Disney both tend to be kinda secretive when it comes to the LEGO Star Wars theme).

Pretty much agree with all of this.

To all BIONICLE fanfiction writers - send me your work, I'd genuinely love to read it - especially canon compliant pieces. I'm always looking for more such material to read and to circulate with my friends.

I'm hoping to see better pictures of the Lego Elves, Ninjago, Bionicle and Nexo Knights sets. Technic should be interesting too, since they're going big with it this year, but it's less of a priority since we've already gotten so much good coverage from Germany.

Also, if it's possible and not too much of a burden, I'd love to see pics of some of the backs of the sets, since those often go ignored by other sources. Last year, BZP's pictures of Darth Vader's back underneath his cape gave us a much better idea of the size and complexity of the final set than basic poses could, and I'd love to see the same done for this year's Bionicle and Star Wars figures. Additionally, it seems that both Jestro's Volcano Base from the Nexo Knights theme and Ragana's Magic Shadow Castle from the Elves theme might have some interesting interiors that we haven't yet gotten a good look at from behind.

A good, detailed perspective of the Bionicle figures - in good lighting, if possible. Some of us, including myself, have extensive plans that rise or fall depending on the colour/size of some of the new pieces. And an echo of the above post:

And possibly some written material on the new pieces in the ever-popular creator set would be nice as well.

I hope to see better pics for Bionicle, Ninjago, and Nexo Knights, so that's my vote.

Anyway, I rememberes in December that there is going to be this event (http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/21211-lego-and-nickelodeon-present-play-fair-new-york-2016/?do=findComment&comment=1032385 ), so are both Toy Fair and this one going together at the same time?

I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!:)

In the same facility, even. The only difference is that Toy Fair is for retailers and the press, while Play Fair is for public guests of all ages. It seems like Play Fair was envisioned by the Toy Industry Association as a way of letting ordinary people be a part of the Toy Fair festivities.

This, and if you can, closeups of the Beasts' heads, so we can confirm the presence (or lack of) of trans-lime G2 heads.

In addition to what's been said, it could be nice to get photos of the backs of the Bionicle boxes if they feature any comics, combiner models, or set functions that aren't immediately apparent.

L     This link is a bit old, but there's still some good info about combiners there.
