randomreviewerbros
Hey everyone, I was using the Wayback Machine looking through BZPower's archives and I finally found an answer to a question I've always had, I found a topic posted back in March 2005 asking what colour is Bomonga's Rhotuka spinner meant to be? I have always wanted to know if I was just a stupid kid and had lost his black Rhotuka flying it around so much, because I can't recall back that far as I was only 6 at the time I got him in the beginning of 2005, and on his box he is advertised with a black rhotuka, I've always had the dark grey Rhotuka and didn't know what set it was from until tonight, apparently earlier versions were packaged with a dark grey Rhotuka but later versions with a silver Rhotuka. Now my question is why isn't the grey Rhotuka on Bricklink and how many of you here still own it? Thanks everyone! Oh btw here is the link to that topic: http://web.archive.org/web/20050315021659/http://www.bzpower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=168449 Hopefully it works Edited May 24, 2016 by randomreviewerbros Quote Go check out our Youtube channel! Aanchir
The short answer is because nobody has added it. The Brickset database is user-generated. One person is selling one, though. Since I have a BrickLink membership, I'll go ahead and add the Dark Bluish Gray Rhotuka as an alternate item now. EDIT: Just submitted the inventory change for approval. The Dark Bluish Gray version will be listed as an alternate part for the Flat Silver version. Taria Pakari
Wait now I'm confused. Was he supposed to have a black, grey or silver spinner? Because mine has a black one.
Aanchir
Wait now I'm confused. Was he supposed to have a black, grey or silver spinner? Because mine has a black one.It seems like it was inconsistent. My younger brother's Bomonga set had a Dark Stone Grey (Dark Bluish Gray) one. Other people have reported getting Silver (Flat Silver) ones in their Bomonga sets. You're the first person I've heard actually testify getting a black one, but that's what was pictured in the official art so it's not unbelievable that some were produced with them. I think it's probably mostly a matter of which production run of Bomonga sets your copy came from. Slight variations in a set's contents over time aren't unheard of, but they are notable. Toa of Ice - 1987
Well it's still easy to just find a rhotuka supply box for sale, spray painting one black and add a protective clear coat if ya want a elusive black rhotuka. Now I know I apparently have another rare piece, heh! 2 Quote ~Bionicle Online Games Guru~ Current Bionicle Sets: 232/250 2001: 23/24 2002: 20/21 2003: 22/22 2004: 22/22 2005: 23/23 2006: 16/22 2007: 22/22 2008: 25/27 2009: 26/26 2010: 4/6 2015: 18/18 2016: 11/
T.B.O.C
Yeah, from what I remember Flat Silver was the most common (what I got as well), with Dark Stone being a rarer version from earlier runs. Never heard that some came with black Rhotuka though, that's certainly cool.
