IC: Wilhelm Gorn- Jade's ship

A... sniper... scythe? Gorn couldn't decide if it was the dumbest or most ingenious thing he had ever heard. For a second, he didn't even believe it, until closer examination of the weapon revealed that many of the "useless" parts appeared to belong to a firearm. Still, Gorn couldn't quite see how the thing was meant to be used.

"Interesting... How does the "sniper" aspect work, exactly? Does it transform?"

IC: Ken Render and Mara Quiver - Jade's Ship

Render squinted at the weapon, chewing his wire. "Rifle, eh? Mara here's got wunna those herself. Ain't that right, junebug?"

Quiver nodded stiffly, trying to resist the urge to huddle behind Render. He was keen on the idea of encouraging Quiver to come out of her shell more, so to speak, but she still found it very difficult. Render wrapped his arm around her shoulders in a comforting fashion, still grinning lazily at the other two Heroes in the conversation.

"Her energy rifle ain't got a farm tool on it, mind," Render said cheerily, without skipping a beat. "Neither've us have much t'do with fightin' up close and personal-like. Looks like you two'll be more th' people t'call fer that."

IC: Timothy Gyro - Gyromobile

"Bwuh?" Gyro looked up, and then grinned sheepishly. "Oh. Sure."

He pulled back on the wheel, and followed the other ship towards Antropolis.

IC: Wilhelm Gorn- Jade's ship

Gorn chuckled in agreement.

"Heh heh heh... Indeed. In any case, I look forward to seeing both you and your weapon in action."

He turned to Render, having noticed that the hero next to him seemed to be very uncomfortable for some reason.

"Is... she alright?"

IC: Cobra Shard - In The Gyro Jet

"Yeah, we'll see," he said, rubbing the back of his head.

IC: Gabriel Bliss - Makuhero Skies (Cor Solis)

Bliss had set off for Antropolis in the Cor Solis shortly before Gyro took off and by now was a comfortable distance behind Nex's shuttle.

IC: Cobra Shard - Tale of Woe

"Well, it's not a pretty story," he said. "I was all fired up and ready to go, y'know, first mission hype and all that, and then the jerk pilot I'm with dumps me, Hero Pod and all, into the ocean! What a guy! So I climb outta the water and immediately spot these beast things beating up some other Heroes. What do I do? I try to help out, of course, and you know what happens? One of the 'ems got wings and the punk does the same thing to me the pilot did: flies me out into the middle'a nowhere and drops me to the bottom of the sea," Shard paused to see if Flames was still listening.

He shrugged. "He didn't really abandon me. Just kinda dumped into the water front of the docks. I think it was some kind of sick joke.

So anyways, here I am waaay far from shore after the wing beast guy drops me, and I start sinking. I'm not built for underwater ops y'know, so a minute or two and the pressure really starts makin' a mess of my armor. Holes opening up, water pouring in," he shivered a bit. "Not cool, man. Not cool."

"Indeed," Shard replied. "But I still managed to keep my cool," he chuckled over his bad joke before continuing, "I used all the coolant in my tank to create an ice cube around myself which made me float back to the surface where my fellow Heroes reeled me in and thawed me out. It took an hour or two, but it saved my life, so I can hardly complain about the wait."

IC: Cobra Shard - Tale of Woe

"So at this point I'm outta the ice, low on charge, and all bashed up from the beasts and the ocean and whatnot. This is where things go really downhill.

I head to the hospital, right? Smart thing to do when you're in a condition like that. I start getting a patch-up done when I hear a dropship land on the roof. Who flies dropships around and lands on hospital roofs? We do! That's a Hero Factory thing, right? Or that's what I assumed at least, but nope. The roof door opens up and evil brains and villains just start pouring in like you wouldn't believe. Of course I held 'em off valiantly for as long as I could, but in the shape I was in I never stood a chance..."

Shard scuffed the floor a bit with his boot. "The next part is a bit embarrassing..." he cleared his throat awkwardly. "I- I got a brain on my head."

OOC: Huge apologies for the delay! I was doing exams, and really had to study.

IC: Ken Render and Mara Quiver - Jade's Ship

Render shrugged a little at Gorn. "She's fine, pardner. Mara ain't th' best with meetin' people."

Quiver gave a polite nod to Gorn, and mumbled, "S-Sorry."

It was getting a little loud, but she did her best to tune it out.

IC: Cobra Shard - Tale of Woe

"Riiight... you've never seen an evil brain, have you? And you've never seen the pictures? Or heard the stories? Huh.

Okay, here's the basics: an evil brain gets on your head and it can tap into your neural hub and take control of your mind. It's worse if you're organic 'cause they'll mutate you, too. There was a huge crisis a while back where a giant swarm of them took over a whole bunch of wildlife and attacked Makuhero City. Nasty little critters," Shard paused and tried to remember where he'd left off. "Okay, so I get one on my head and it starts controlling me, right? Then the pilot from earlier and Nex (yeah, the idiot pilot was hanging out with Nex. Uncool, man) storm in and find me and the swarm and the worst part is, while they're distracted with me, the guy who invented and was controlling the brains got away. Long story short they beat the snot out of me." He winced at the memory.

IC: Flynn Flames

Ohhh ... that was why he's being pessimistic. That was possibly the worst possible first mission a person could survive. Still there was a silver lining ... I think.

"Well I must admit that must have been terrible, but you did save some civilians from the brains by holding them off at the hospital, even if it was only for a moment, you tried to protect the people who were the most vulnerable and you can take pride in that"

IC Kaiba:

"We don't exactly have the authority to be head on anymore. Much as I'd like to be...."

IC Thak:

"So what should I do?" Thak asked XPlode, having -totally-been there the whole time(as allowed by our esteemed GMs).

IC Jade - Mekron Space

"Dropping to sublight now," she spoke, informing her passengers. The deceleration caused a slight lurch. She frowned. Inertial dampness needed adjusting.

"We're going to head to the rendezvous point, meet up with Stormers group and then you'll all do....whatever it is you lot do for a living."

She smirked.

IC: Cobra Shard - Tale of Woe

"Yeah, that's something at least, I suppose," Shard said doubtfully. "But it doesn't end there."

He sat back in his seat and gathered his thoughts a moment before continuing his woeful tale. "So by now I'm running on emergency power, I'm still damaged from the ocean thing, Nex has carved me to ribbons with some kind'a laser thingo, I'm part of the evil brain swarm, and there's pretty much nothing I can do about any of it. Can't get worse, right? Nope: wrong.

Suddenly I'm teleported, along with the hoard of brains, directly into the middle of town. Screaming civilians everywhere, I'm down to 2% battery... yeah. Not pretty.

More Heroes come out of the crowd and deal with the brains before they can do too much damage, knocking the one off my head in the process. I gotta say, that was definitely a good feeling: y'know, getting my mind back. Just wish it had lasted longer. Right about here is where I go down under 1% core charge and everything just goes black."

"Well you survived the worst a mission can be without killing you, so now it's all up hill!"

I was getting put off by cobra's dour mood though. I cant go and get demotivated before the mission had even began. I needed to talk to someone else. Looking at the cockpit I call to Bulk and Gyro.

"How much longer will the flight be?"

IC: Yofrid Atgeir and Peppy Starburst

Location: Meadhall

"It's not that simple, she has her own job as a hero to attend to, and-" "It's ok." Peppy chimed in, prompting Yofrid to look at her in surprise. "I have leave days I've been saving up, I can call some in now, so I can work here full time while you're off with Kaiba." Yofrid furrowed her eyebrows. "I appreciate the gesture, but even then I'm not sure about leaving you alone to take care of the bar." "Don't you worry miss Atgeir, I'll take good care of your bar while you're gone. After all, I've learnt from the best!" Peppy cheerfully responded. Yofrid sighed.

IC: XPlode and Rotor - Villain Friend Ship

XPlode responded to Thak. "You're a new face, right? I'm sure you could join the others if you don't currently have a warrant. Or, if you would prefer, you could join I and my fairly ill friend here in less social endeavours. A shame, really. I do prefer the idle chit-chat."

"We're comin' up on Antropolis," Rotor remarked.

"Thank you, Rotor." XPlode turned to the others. "Well, whatever you do, just remember not to draw attention to yourselves, or our goals here. Except you, Rotor. I would like you to stay with the ship."

"Aw, what?" Rotor groaned. "C'mon, I'm already gonna have to sit around in one cramped spaceship when we find the Skywhale."

"It's the Starwhale, and you know you're quite easy to spot, with your blades. You can't very well hide them under a cloak. Besides, we may need a hasty getaway, if those accursed Heroes catch wind of our presence."

"What're you gonna do without me to bail you outta trouble, eh?" Rotor shook his head. "Whatever. Fine. Just make sure you jokers hurry it up, I get antsy cooped up in here."

XPlode asked the villains, "Are there any remaining pressing questions or issues before we arrive?"

IC: Wilhelm Gorn- Jade's ship

Gorn now realized that bringing attention to the rookie's unease probably hadn't been the best way to respond to it.

"Oh... I see. My apologies."

He then turned to Quiver.

"There's nothing to be sorry about... Even the best of us get nervous sometimes."

IC: Jason Ferro- Gyromobile

Ferro was silent. He had been been listening to Cobra's story as well, and had soon realized that Cobra had been the guy who had tried to help him and Ghid fight off the crystal beasts back in Antropolis. Ferro had completely forgotten about him until this moment, and now he felt terrible...

He considered bringing up that he was not, in fact being "beaten up" at the time, but decided against it.

OOC: Apologies for my lengthy absence. I'm going to pull a bit of a timeskip in a few places here to make up for that, and to get some of your guys' characters who were delayed by interaction or inactivity back into play.

GM IC: Black Phantom/Corroder - En-Route to Mekron City.

Having finally dealt with the prison guards, Black Phantom and Corroder had escorted Night Stalker back to their ship, reuniting him with ammunition for his other weapons, before setting off for Mekron City. Kavok Quake, unfortunately, had scampered away during the chaos of the battle with the guards, and Black Phantom had decided it wasn't worth wasting time trying to track him down in the maze of corridors.

As such, it was only the three villains on board the ship as it made its final approach towards Mekron.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

GM IC: Stormer/Stringer - Approaching Mekron Police Station.

Only a few minutes behind Jade, Stormer's ship emerged from the ether of FTL and drifted through the planetoid's atmosphere. With much of Hero Factory's long-range communications network in shambles, Mission Control had been unable to call ahead, but Stormer was confident that Chief Drax wouldn't protest to him parking the dropship near the station.

From there, it would be a simple matter of rendezvousing with the other half of the team, and convincing Drax to help them.

_____________________________________________________________________________________

GM IC: Nex/Bulk - Arriving At Antropolis.

The two ships drifted out of FTL at almost the same time, drifting a few hundred klicks from each other, just outside of Antropolis' gravity well. If the occupants were to look out the viewports, they would see the titanic metropolis stretching out below them, glinting in the light of the system's vibrant sun.

News of the Star Whale's fate was already spreading, it seemed, with the usually-busy shipping lanes lying comparatively devoid of any sort of traffic. This mission was about so much more than one ship, something Nex reminded the heroes to keep in mind as he guided his ship down towards the planet below, Bulk gesturing for Gyro to do the same.

IC: Flynn Flames

As I looked through a viewport, I gasped at the sight of Antropolis below, the city was incredible in size. Yet I was determiend to know a bit more about the heroes I was undertaking this mission with. I waved at another hero in the ship, a black and purple hero with a Furno style helmet.

"So have you been to this city before?"

IC: Morphos

"It has occurred to me that there are very few who know the exact path of the Starwhale, and if there are any who are not on the ship then they have have probably already told hero factory.  However, if hero factory has not been notified, that means one of two things; either that there is no information here on the Starwhale's location and I would really like to know why the #### we're even coming here, or someone is keeping them from revealing that information.  If that's the case I doubt they're going to give it up willingly and we may be looking at a fight, depending on how badly someone wants this hidden.  My question is can you enlighten us on this situation, or do you not know either? "

IC: Night Stalker

Night Stalker connected the last wire and watched as his arm changed color to match the floor below it.  He grinned at his success, then reverted to normal and put the tools away.  Now both his radar and his camo armor were working again, not to mention he now had ammunition for his weapons again.  He was still unsure about his place in the universe.  While in prison he had decided to go straight, but that was before he had been offered an escape from prison in exchange for his violent services, while he still expected to be there for a very long time.  He would see where fate took him before making a decision.  Best to see what he was dealt before betting on the outcome.

IC: Gyro - Gyromobile

Gyro set the ship down skillfully, and mentally gave himself a pat on the back for the nice landing before disengaging the door lock. "Okay, here we are! Careful not to trip on the end of the walkway."

~

IC: Rotor and XPlode - Villain Friend Ship

As Rotor grumbled to himself and readied the landing gear, XPlode turned to Morphos, eyebrows raised. "Why, chum, I would have thought Voltix would have explained this to you all beforehand! Ah, apologies, my friend. We received intelligence that was originally taken from a call from the Star Whale to the Hero Factory, and so the Hero Factory has been informed of the Star Whale's issues. However, we don't know whether the Star Whale is on its proper course, or whether whatever has befallen it has warranted it to change this course. We are here to gather information; perhaps, for example, someone had seen it recently adrift, or give us an idea of where to start looking."

IC: Morhpos

Morphos growled, "Don't patronize me!  I know that the factory knows about the Starwhale.  That wasn't my concern.  Still, you did answer my question." After a breif pause where Morphos takes the robot equivalent of a deep breath, Morphos asks, "I don't suppose you have any contacts here, or a general area of where we want to look?  There's a lot of city down there, and a lot more robots."

Ferro turned to the hero who had waved at him.

"Yeah, about six months ago. I didn't really get to see too much of it, but it's probably a nice place when the beasts aren't trying to kill you."

Upon hearing Gyro, Ferro rose to his feet.

OOC: Aw shoot did I forget Gorn

IC: Mara Quiver and Ken Render - Jade's Ship

"S-Sometimes," she mumbled, barely above a whisper. "Y-Yeah."

Render figured it would be best to draw attention away from Quiver. He asked, "Weren't you helpin' at th'Mechna hootenanny, pardner?"

~

IC: XPlode and Rotor - Villain Friend Ship

Rotor and XPlode exchanged a confused, vaguely worried glance before XPlode responded, "Well... As I just said, friend, you will be visiting the establishments and listening out for information. Or, as I and my comrades will be doing, exploring the port from which the ship left from. They should have left some records of their flight path, after all- and if they deviated from that path, then likely someone may have seen them- which is where you come in, chum, you and the Pluppy."

OOC: Just to let you guys know, Nato and I will be providing information on the area when we arrive. This is gonna be a pretty open-ended part of the mission, where you'll get to choose where to go to get info. There'll be some indicators if necessary, of course, but otherwise you'll have pretty free reign.
