IC: Flynn Flames

I would have to approach this carefully, it would be wrong for a hero to cause worry in a civilian. Then again the situation was worrying. I kept my voice calm and reassuring "No we have not encountered anybody else yet, can you tell us what happened? What did you see?"

IC: Tony Sprocket - Sort Of Hiding

"I, uh, I didn't see much of anything. I heard screams, yelling, and then I saw some laser fire and booked it back to my room. I heard some of the others coming back, but I don't know how many people made it... I heard people get dragged off... I ran into ol' Lockey on the way back, he seemed really serious... do you think they're okay?!"

Old Lockey seemed like an important person, I'd have to ask after Sproket answered Cobra's questions. Still I owed it to answer the terrified bot's questions "I don't know if they're okay Sproket, you're the only person we've met so far"

IC: Tony Sprocket - Sprocket's Room

"Direction? It sounded like everywhere... Sorry, I wasn't thinking too hard about it when I ran..."

He turned to Flames. "O-Oh. But, they could still be okay, right?"

Hmm, not many details there. Seems like it was a sudden attack though. Whatever it was probably took everybody by surprise,  it must have been an ambush of some form.

"I'm sure they will be now that Hero Factory's on the case ... can you tell me about this ol'Lockey? who is he?"

IC: Tony Sprocket - Sprocket's Room

"Lockey's our head of security. He's a couple doors down from my quarters. He's kind of stuffy and his taste in movies is pretty lame, but he's kept us safe... so far..."

To Shard, he said, "I think... I think I saw some of them, actually. Not much, I was running away, but when I ran into Lockey I looked back to say sorry and there was someone there I didn't know. I didn't see them long, just for a second. They were big, and they looked like they meant business."

OOC: To be clear, you've been in Lockey's room before. The room you went in before this one belonged to Lochlan Keye. "Lockey" is both a way to shorten "Lochlan", and also what you get if you combine the first part of his first name and the whole part of his last name. Your characters don't have to realise this, of course.

GM IC: ??? - Bridge

"Keep it moving!" snapped a tall burly figure, clad in cloak and impressive hat, into a microphone. "Ye scurvy dogs drop just one of them crates and ye'll be walkin' the plank!"

On the screen before the figure, similarly rough-looking though less well-dressed criminals saluted and resumed their pace in checking the precious cargo. The figure turned back to the room's occupants. "Orroight, ye scallawags! Keep steady!"

"Yes, Cap'n," said the crewmate at the helm, pressing buttons and flipping switches like it was second nature. To the crewmate sitting beside her, she said, "Feels so good to stretch yer legs, innit?"

"I miss the Cap'n's ship," her companion agreed. "Hidin' in a cargo bay? Ain't right fer-"

"Shaddap, ya lily-livered scallywags," the captain snapped at the two, slamming fists on the tops of the consoles. "After this, we'll all have enough booty to last a lifetime! And then some! Now, keep on course! We have some business to attend to, mateys."

A few doors down, I think Bliss was inspecting that door? I should check, and I should also escort Sproket to safety now.

"That sounds like the room Bliss was breaking into, hey Cobra can you ask him what's going on while I escort Tony to our ship?"

IC: Cobra Shard - The Starwhale

"Sure," he said absentmindedly, thinking of all the villains he knew who were "big and looked like they meant business". There were a lot of them.

He walked back out into the hallway and moved a few doors down to the room where Bliss was.

"Hey, buddy, anyone named "Ol' Lockey?" in here?"

Bliss shook his head no.

"No, if you bring your stuff and we get attacked you'll be slowed down by carrying your stuff, come"

With that I lead the young bot to the ship, but while we made our way there I had a question for Tony.

"So how do we get to the bridge?"

OOC: Eugh, I keep getting busy and tired out and sidetracked and forgetting to do things, sorry. I'm back again.

IC: Tony Sprocket - Being Led To Safety

"Huh?" Sprocket blinked, having been lost in thought. "Oh, uh, if you go up this corridor, the bridge is that way. But, um, are you sure you guys can take them? I mean, you're Heroes and all, but... I mean, I think there were a lot of them... maybe... or maybe it was just really loud...?"

IC: Timothy Gyro and XPlode - Haven't Checked On The Villains For A While

"Well," said XPlode, glancing between the villains. "I suppose we'd best start searching the place, eh? You can come along with me, Rotor."

"Uh, sure. Yeah." Gyro tried to mask his hesitation as he followed XPlode down the hallway.

IC: Bliss - Probably About To Make Friends

Ahead, Bliss could probably hear two growling voices.

"It ain't fair!" one groused. "Ain't nothin' to do here."

"Y'could go help count th'stock," said the other.

IC: Gabriel Bliss - Finding New Friends

Bliss quickly pulled out of sight behind the door frame to avoid detection. After a few seconds, he sent out a short text message to the Hero group:

"Contact at my location; two or more; probably hostile"

IC: Preston Stormer & Jimi Stringer - Hero Landing Craft

Stormer and Stringer had been hanging out near the dropship when they received Bliss's message. The two Heroes looked at each other.

"You go check it out. I'll hold down the fort here," Stormer shot a glance at Sprocket. "We can't afford to leave the ship undefended."

"Roger that," Stringer hefted his sonic blaster and made for Bliss's tracker signal.

OOC: I can't remember who all is here... how many Heroes came aboard this dropship?

OOC: 7 ish I think?

IC: Flynn Flames

I noticed Bliss's message the moment it arrived. Fortunately the dropship and Stormer were in sight. "Thank you for the information Tony, but don't worry about us, we're heroes we solve these problems for daily" I said, hopefully reassuring the bot, I spoke quickly because I really needed to get to Bliss. "Now there's the dropship and Stormer, explain what happened to him and he'll take care of you ... now if you'll excuse me I gotta run!" Not looking back I immediately set off to Bliss's location as fast as I could.

It was now that I noticed the bot running head of me. I was going to face down a villain with Jimi Stringer? EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I tried my best to hide my over-enthusiasm as I thought up a reply to Stringer. "I'm with you Stringer, I'll handle any sticky situations that come our way"

Nailed it.

IC: Jimi Stringer - Definitely Beatdown Time

With Flames close behind, Stringer finally neared Bliss's signal. "Alright, we'll need to take it slow from here. If they see us before we see them, it'll make things a whole lot harder on us."

IC: Gabriel Bliss - Still Hiding

Bliss heard two pairs of footsteps approaching the way he'd come an checked his GPS. Two Hero signals just around the corner. Good.

IC: Gabriel Bliss - Still Hiding

Bliss saw Stringer's head come around the corner and he gave the Alpha Hero a thumbs up.

IC: Jimi Stringer - Let's Do It

He looked over at Flames.

"Okay, here's my plan: I'll lead, you come right behind. We'll give the guys in the next room a warning before we just go all gunzerk on them, but I want you and Bliss covering me just in case they try anything funny. If diplomacy wins, hey, so much the better for all of us, but I don't want to take too many chances here.

You ready?"

IC: Tony Sprocket - With Stormer

Tony nodded and scampered to Stormer. Shyly, he cleared his throat. "Um, one of the other Heroes said to tell you what happened...?"

~

IC: Two Thugs

The Heroes would find themselves face to face with two pirates. One, the taller of the two, had two pairs of arms folded across their chest, and cutlasses on their belt alongside a laser pistol. The other was nervously fiddling with the hilt of their dagger. At the sight of the Heroes, both jumped.

The bigger one grinned. "Awrgh, finally! C'mere!"

Two of their arms grabbed cutlasses, the other two gestured for the Heroes to bring it on. The smaller skittered for the ship's intercom, on the wall nearby.

IC: Jimi Stringer - Break It Down

"Someone get the dude on the comms! We can't let 'em call for backup!" Stringer yelled, firing a couple loud noises out of his sonic gun.

IC: Gabriel Bliss - Pirates!

Bliss dropped his sword into a defensive stance and began advancing slowly toward the big pirate with the cutlasses.

"RIGHT ON IT SIR!"

Rushing forward and charging my heat to the max I channeled my burning desire for JUSTICE into my plasma launcher, firing off a volley of shots at the thug making it for the comms. This gave the other thug a chance to attack, but cutting off reinforcements was goal numero uno right now.

OOC: I'm still alive, just very busy and tired.

IC: Two Thugs - The Starwhale

The smaller thug cursed and ducked, the volley of plasma melting the intercom he was going for. As he rolled out of the way, the bigger one made a grab for Flames. If she was successful, she would throw Flames at Bliss in one smooth motion.

~

IC: Tony Sprocket - With Stormer

Sprocket ducked his head. "Well, um, not much, actually. I heard a commotion and hid out in my room. I'm not really built for dealing with that kind of thing, see. I thought the security team would take care of it..."

The bigger thug probably regretted picking me up up. My burning body of justice burned her hands and ruined her throw. I flew only a short distance, picking myself up immediately after landing.

"Try again evildoer!" I cry.

IC: Gabriel Bliss - Starwhale Beatdown

Bliss slowed when Flames left the ground, but picked up speed again when he saw the goon burn her hands. When he neared, he began channeling light through his sword and took a heavy wing at the goon's torso.

IC: Jimi Stringer - Starwhale Beatdown

Stringer took careful aim at the thug going for the intercom and played some loud pewpewpew noises out of his gun.

IC: Preston Stormer - Hero Landing Craft

"Alright, well, at least you're safe. So you really didn't see anyone or hear anything? Hang on... the security team, where would we find them?"

OOC: I have no idea how I somehow missed posting here for several weeks. I try to make it once a week at the very, very least, even if I'm super busy

Anyway I don't think it would upset Big Thug's throw that much for Flames to be burning, because she's doing it very quickly, but because of the massive delay I've caused I'm letting it slide.

IC: Thugs

"Bloomin' cheat!" the larger one snarled, waving her burned hand to cool it off as she went for her laser pistol with her sole unoccupied hand. She crossed her cutlasses to take the brunt of Bliss' blow, and responded with a volley from her laser pistol at the Heroes.

Stringer, as there was no thug going for the melted and thoroughly destroyed intercom, managed to really mess the melted husk of the intercom up. Worse than it was, even. The smaller thug, having rolled out of the way prior, scrambled down the hallway.

IC: Tony Sprocket - With Stormer

"I... I dunno. I only saw Ol' Lockey running towards the noise, he's the head of security. He was in his room, I think, which meant he wasn't on shift. He wouldn't be in there if he was meant to be working, and I think I heard his door close when I was running for mine..."

IC: Gabriel Bliss - Brawl!

Bliss pulled back just in time to avoid being riddled by lasers, a few grazing dangerously close and one even punching a hole through one of his wings. He aimed a low kick at the space pirate's shin.

IC: Jimi Stringer - Super Smash!

It took Stringer a second or two to realize that obliterating the intercom even more actually wasn't helping. Thumbing a switch on his blaster, he enabled "Sweet_Jam.mp3" and aimed it at the escaping thug.

IC: Preston Stormer - Hero Qraft

"Hmm... So this Lockey is undoubtedly in serious danger right now. I'll let the other Heroes know to keep an eye out for him," Stormer sent a short group text to the other Heroes.

OOC: Eh there's only 3 of us so we can't expect too much :/

IC: Flynn Flames

Curses that pirate was making a break for it, but how would I get past the bigger one while she was laying down covering fire? I'd have to rely on my team mates. I ducked into cover as the large pirate opened fire and loosed a few shots with my own plasma launcher. Hopefully Gabriel would not get too shot up if the bigger pirate had to avoid my fire.

OOC: Another big apology is in order. I had to disappear to write my thesis. Also, I have no idea what Stringer's gun is meant to be doing with playing an mp3 so I'm going to assume it's a sonic blast.

IC: Big Thug

She grunted from the kick to the shin, and from a few shots from the plasma launcher. At such close range, the Hero fighting her was likely going to be hit, too. She swung at the Hero before her with her twin cutlasses for good measure.

IC: Little Thug

The sonic blast sent him flying further down the hallway. He groaned, but slowly crawled to his feet and resumed his retreat, albeit with a pronounced limp.

"Something wrong, Rotor?" Xplode asked.

"Uh, nah, nothin'," said Gyro, trying to sound nonchalant. "Jus' got a flag from somethin' I thought I turned off, that's all."

"Hmm. What would that be?"

Gyro raked his processor.

"Messages, but uh, think this one was automated."

"How strange."

OOC: Me neither.  :D

IC: Gabriel Bliss - Late

Bliss hissed under his breath as several of Flames' shots punched through the wings on the right-hand side of his wingpack. That rookie was cutting things a little close. Seeing aforementioned rookie making a break for the smaller pirate, Bliss tried to sidestep into the space between the big pirate and Flames, but still caught a bit of one of the cutlasses opening a long gash through his shoulder plate.

He retaliated with a shove to (hopefully) throw his opponent off balance and open her up for a better attack.

IC: Stormer - HQ

"Yeah, well, we don't know anything about these pirates, so they might have just taken him hostage, but-" he tried to sound a little gentler here "don't keep your hopes up too high, kiddo."
