Petewa's topic of Bonkle art

Petewa

Recommended Posts

It's probably no surprise that I draw a lot, and with the extremely recent ending of G2, I figured I'd draw a bit more, so here is a thread in which I plan to put the majority of my Bionicle, or Lego, themed artwork in the future.

I'd like to start with some old art, and by that, I mean they're old enough that I should've posted them by now, but not so old that I think they suck yet:

They've got a bit more flesh on them than any Bionicle themed character I'd normally draw would, and there was an in story explanation for that, but here're some normal Toa that you'll be more accustomed to seeing:

Note: I will be colouring those last three later on, so they are technically works in progress, but I thought I'd share them with you guys anyways.

So thanks for looking at my art, comment, upvote, tell me how you think I could improve, or if you think I'm good where I'm at now, then tell me that.

E: Have an old manatee doodle for reading through whatever of that you did:

No comments yet? Like I've said before, I like your style. It's a bit rough, but I like the feel that gives each image. Has personality to it. I'm not sure what to say about the first three, but I like what you did with the Toa in the second batch. A good blend of both the Gen1 and Gen2 forms. Nice work!

And I like the mask design. Feels like it could belong in Gen1, Gen2, or Transformers. Not bad!

Neat! I'm assuming the sculpture to be Hafu, correct? It's a little plain and blocky, but for a sculpture of that nature, it fits just fine.

As for the other piece of artwork, looks pretty good! I recognize the Skull Spider mask on the shoulder there. Is it based on a MOC? Or did you just include those elements in an original drawing? Either way, I like it.

Some of the elements were from a MOC, but I made the majority of it up as I went along.

Ooh, both are awesome! Vakama's easily my favorite, though. In the first image, who's the tall one?

Mystery bloke.

I just realized you gave each of them the Kanoka emblems.

*salutes*

Thank you, I figured they'd've kept something to mark their success in saving the Metruan. Edited by Nightbird

Ooh, nice! The removal of the black outlines makes it stand out from your other works, but it has a really nice effect. I'd love to see more like this.

I've posted this on some other sites, and other people seem to feel the same way, I think I'll do the other Toa Mata lineless just for the sake of doing so.

I'm fairly pleased with how this map came out.

Mataru Nui is an island in the left leg of the Great Spirit Robot in the Fifth Dimension, it is the island that D5 Petewa is originally from.

The map is separated into different segments of the island, and each big circle without an outline is where a Turaga lives.

An "X" on the map marks a memorial built to honor the passing of a great hero or Turaga.

The little tan line ending in a question mark is the journey of Skrive, a speechless Toa who was among the first to colonize the island, but walked into the Po-Mataruan desert, never to be seen again.

An upward arrow signifies a mountain, or in the cases of Ta-Mataru and Su-Mataru, volcanoes.

The island off to the side is Krahva, a recent discovery which contained a previously unknown Matoran factory.

Nice pieces-are they meant to be gender swapped versions of the official characters?

Voicing your opinions with tact is the best way to keep a discussion from becoming an argument.
So far as I'm aware, it's pronounced like this: We're ee ah moo.
