What happened to Mata Nui's Research?

Recommended Posts

Howdy!

So... we know that the Great Beings created Mata Nui and built the Matoran Universe so they can study other worlds. After Mata Nui finished studying civilizations on other planets, he was put to sleep by Teridax. On Bara Magna, after his Awakening, he has some kind of amnesia. So is his research lost?

Another question: is Mata Nui the only one in the Matoran Universe that knows about the studies?

The information was recorded in MN's central control system under Metru Nui. Since the meteor/planet that killed Teridax destroyed the Core Processor, I'd say the info has been lost forever, unless there was a backup drive on the Red Star or somewhere else in the GSR.

Would it have been impossible, though, for the Great Beings to have had a radio connection to the GSR so that he could stream what he found to them, wherever they were?

Yeah, maybe they are kept in the Red Star or in one of the Great Beings' labs.

That is true. The RS could have acted as a long-range transmitter for the data.

I thought the main goal of the research was to learn how to splice a planet back together. Because if that was his goal, Mata-Nui used the research for what it was intended for.

I am sure that the research was on how to prevent something like the Core War from happening again. War being waged 'tll war weather world to splintered slaying. EDIT: No sense on reforming the world if the planet's denizens will eventually blow it up again.

Yes. That's why they built the Great Spirit Robot.

To the second part of your question: I believe that in combination with spending a great deal of time in Mangia (which is near to Metru Nui) as well as gaining the knowledge that Mutran learned from Tren Krom, it is very likely that Teridax was able to accumulate some of the information from Mata Nui's research. Him periodically traveling down to the Core Processor is not unlikely.
