Dissapointed in the lake of Makuta sets in Gen 1 and Gen 2

Recommended Posts

(Yes it's suppose to be "lack" not "lake")

So I kinda noticed something that really disappointed me while building the 2016 makuta combo model. In the 12 years bionicle has been producing sets only one official Makuta set for both Gens has been made. In 2003 we got his titan form but after that we only got Ultimate Dume which was a combo model, Turaga Dume which isn't really makuta just a form he took, Maxilos just a form he possessed, then finally the unofficial combo model from 2016.

I just find it rather sad that the main villain from all 12 years of Bionicle only got one set that was just him nothing else.

Is this just a thing I take issue with or do you folks also agree with this?

I think you mean to saw lack.

But more so over, for me the lack of any Makuta set In G2 rreally urks me. But what can you do? Create your own? AHAHAHAH yes.

Still though, it would be nice to have an official Makuta Set.

Dang it I knew a typo would sneak in.

Definitely annoying. Makes me wonder what people felt before 2003 hit and they hadn't gotten their titan form makuta.

It saddens me that we won't get a Makuta set in G2. The same goes to the Mask of Ultimate Power. I mean, he's the main antagonist as always, and that is one of the G2's legendary masks. Man, I hate cancellations. They break my hearts and hopes for the future.:( (crying in tears).

Well, let's look at a bright side. We can make the G2 Makuta combiner. I could also use the Mask of Control, Golden Mask of Skull Spiders, or that red-ended Hunter Mask from 2016 Ekimu set.

I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!:)

I'm bothered by the lack of a G2 Makuta set as any other fan, but I don't really see a problem on G1's side. I mean, after Takanuva destroyed the Shadow Titan, Makuta never had his own form. There was Maxilos, then he snuck into the Ignika and then the GSR.

...

Okay, wait, I am disappointed at the lack of a GSR set.

G1 Makuta were all shapeshifters, and I thought that was the beauty of it.  You could literally build anything, call it "Makuta", and it would work!

Even though Bionicle was a lore-heavy story, it was still a LEGO brand, so I'm sure if they could encourage you to get creative, they would.

But wait! You forgot! Makuta was the antidermis zamor spheres! Which means he actually appears in 14 Bionicle sets, an unprecedented number for any character.

Turns out there really is a metaphorical lake of Makuta sets.

I always wish we had the chance to visit Lake Makuta. Sounds like an awesome place to go waterskiing :)

I, too, was saddened when I learned that we weren't getting a official Gen 2 Makuta set. I was really looking forward to getting it. :( But I guess that combiner works for his set.

As for Gen 1, I'm not really upset that Makuta didn't get more than one official set. I guess I'm more surprised that he didn't get more, due to his status in the story. But aside from 2007, he sort of stayed behind the scenes of the story after 2004, with the exceptions of the appearance in Time Trap, ending of 2008, and the ending of the Gen 1 story. So I don't know if he really needed another official set after 2003.

But that is just my two cents on this.

Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.

For G2, I think the combiner we ended up getting would have easily outclassed any official Makuta set TLG would have released. There's no way they would have released the combiner in it's current form to the public, as it probably doesn't meet a lot of Lego's standards for sets and would have been pretty expensive.
