Extra Pieces in Bionicle 2008 Phantoka sets (8693 Chirox)

Hey guys, I just bought a 8693 Chirox on eBay and the front tape part that holds
the cave decoration onto the box was half cutoff thus leaving the cave part hanging.
I opened it up and usually, sets would come with a few extra black pins. I suspect
it may not be new. However, it did not so I wonder two things:

1. If the set has been opened as the front tape part was cut off or if this was
just something caused by shipping, etc. I realize that there may have not been
extra parts with the Phantoka sets as there were none with the Mahri.

2. I question if it was new or not; the tape being half cutoff and no extra pins
make me question. However, the instruction book was folded and I think that is
the case with all the older Bionicle sets.

I would strongly appreciate it if everyone contributed! I attached two pictures;
the one with the hand is mine and the one without is how it should be for the
box.

This would should be moved to the Bionicle Discussion topic.

BZPower gods I summon you to move this topic.

That's not how that works. You have to click the little report button on the topic itself.

On the topic, I think that as long as it is in good condition, and you were going to open it up anyways, it doesn't matter. Perhaps the owner opened it, but never built it or used it. I picked up a LEGO Dimensions kit in the same state.

I see, I'll try to move it if possible. I recently joined BZPower like yesterday, so sorry for the mistake.

Welcome to the BZPower family!

Don't sweat it kid it takes time to learn the website. We're here to help.

Also only the BZPower higher ups have that power.

I'm on mobile so I don't have that button. Edited by ToaTimeLord

According to BrickLink's inventory of the set ( http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=8693-1 ), this set did not come with any extra parts. You can decide how much you want to trust BrickLink, but that's a recent enough kit that I wouldn't doubt it (plenty of people probably bought the set new after it was inventoried and could have corrected it, and that page already says someone else confirmed it with a new set).
