'ere we go:

Name: Kathok Hann

Gender: Male  Species: Skakdi  Element: Plasma

Equipment:

  • Four fighting knives - roughly 7 inches long each, made of hard metal.

  • Two hand spikes - the shape and size of Nuju’s crystal spikes (held as they are portrayed in LoMN), except with barbs radiating outwards as well as downwards. Each barb is made of solid protosteel salvaged from the matoran universe, and is inseparable from the light metal of each weapon’s body. As well as use at deadly close quarters, each can also be used as a climbing tool, as their barbs can penetrate sheet metal with force.

  • Artificial climbing talons, attachable to Kathok’s clawless feet (unusual for a skakdi). Also tipped with protosteel.

  • Rhotuka launcher - can produce rhotuka of searing heat (hot enough to burn flesh).

  • Supplies, including tools for repairing his jetrax in an emergency.

Powers:

  • Sharp Vision - Kathok can see much further and clearer than other beings, to the extent that he is able to find people and structures on the ground far below with relative ease.

  • Obstinance - for between half a second and three seconds, Kathok can fortify his body to withstand extreme force or blunt physical trauma, including making his bones sturdy and his muscles iron-hard. Unfortunately this power takes roughly twenty minutes to recharge, and so is only used as a last resort or in special situations.

  • Elemental Plasma when used in conjunction with another friendly skakdi.

Personal Aircraft: Sunmaker

Allegiance: Adventurer/freelance/occasional mercenary for Tesera and New Atero

Physical characteristics:

Surprisingly lithe and wiry for a skakdi, Kathok often claims he has some toa blood in him. He is still fairly tall, however, and as agile as he is athletic. His movements are springy and full of vitality, but also honed and - when he needs to be - precise and sudden. Wearing the glittering grin of his race, his armour, while partially mismatched and scavenged, holds the eye-catching bright reds and purples of poisonous creatures, shot with scathing oranges and blisteringly bright blues. His natural armour’s shape is formed and sharp-edged, while his eyes and heartlight are fierce turquoise. The spines running from his head to his residual tail are almost feather-shaped - half like leaves, and half like knives.

Weakness: Kathok may be dexterous and strong, but his armour is fairly light.

Mental characteristics:

Kathok is a thrill-seeker, an adrenaline junky. He lives to live fast, and to live dangerously. Why does one born into war crave risk so much? Maybe he has become so used to peril that he must continue, or maybe it’s simply that his morals have been warped by the world to reflect its equally warped existence...in any case, only he can answer that question, and he may not always answer truthfully. But he can take life seriously, and often does: the perfectly timed attack, the precision of a carefully placed dive - these things hold as much satisfaction as mindless mayhem.

Weakness: Occasional claustrophobia, tendency to get into unnecessarily dangerous situations.

Bio:

Kathok doesn’t talk about his past much - he doesn’t care much for sob stories, or gaining points for having been a victim of his environment. In fact he usually laughs at those who act in that way. However, it can be gleaned at length that he was created in the matoran universe, not long before its destruction. Zakaz was a place rife with destruction in those days, as it was for a significant portion of its existence. Kathok likely didn’t hold the same reverence for adventure at that time, and most likely joined one or more of the multi-faceted Zakazian War’s many sides. The destruction of the universe, and the disarray it brought, were the tools that shaped an impressionable young warrior into the part-time sellsword, privateer, smuggler, daredevil and wanderer known today.

Name: Sunmaker

Model: Jetrax

Weaponry:

  • Two Sunspear lance lasers - focused, long-range cutting beams that can maintain a continuous beam for a few seconds at a time before needing to recharge for a minute or so. They have no ability to pivot whatsoever, meaning that Sunmaker must be directly behind its target to use them.

  • Force cannon - shaped like a Skyblaster and mounted on a 360° turret on the underside of Sunmaker, this weapon fires football-sized bolts of heat and force at its target. Strong enough to dent most metals, the cannon can fire at a rate of two bolts a second for roughly five minutes before having to recharge for one. It is mid-short range.

Customisation:

  • A pair of auxiliary thrusters on ball joints to aid with maneuvering.

Appearance:

Very similar to a standard jetrax, except that its colour scheme consists of lime green and that its armour plating appears more compact, with less gaps and more cohesion in terms of the armour’s overall shape.

Name: Parii

Species: Ba-Matoran

Gender: male

Powers: inactive elemental powers of gravity, unusually good hearing

Gear: Kanohi Kakama, a backpack

Personal Aircraft: no aircraft

Allegiance/Role: Originally from Cliffside, Parii is a homeless outcast getting by thanks to small theft

Appearance: a small, agile Ba-Matoran with black and purple armor, amber eyes and a rag for a scarf

Personality: Parii is smart and patient, he enjoys being a part of a big crowd - that way no one seems to notice him passing by. He's a pickpocket, though he doesn't seem to appreciate other fellow thieves in Cliffside. He wishes to get out of that madhouse and dreams of a better, more peaceful life in Tesara

Bio: Parii was outcast after an accident he caused on an airship, which left him mute. He moved to Cliffside and only after 4 days everything he owned was either stolen or destroyed. Later he resorted to theft and became a homeless pickpocket. He spends most of his time around Capstone where he hears various bits of information that help him survive in that barbarian district. It's also because of the safety Capstone guarantees to anyone inside.

Hm, not seeing anything technically wrong here, so Parii Approved

(Deep breath) Well, here goes nothing.

Character:

Name: Zavon

Species: Skakdi of Earth

Gender: Male

Powers: Thermal Vision, Innate Earth Powers

Gear: A stone-launching rifle with an Axehead built into the barrel, Vision-Enhancing Aviation goggles

Personal Aircraft: Sunset Rider

Allegiance/Role: Tesara, Messenger

Appearance: Zavon is rather gangly, mainly because he spends most of his days in a cockpit traversing the skies. He is dressed in primarily black and silver armour, with bright orange eyes. He’s usually seen with a pair of aviator goggles to enhance his vision powers.

Personality: Zavon is very cocky, foolhardy, and seems to take everything presented to him as a challenge. Strangely for a being of earth, he seems to be at most at home in the air. A few have even called him “The only Skakdi who isn’t a complete sadist”.

Bio: Zavon was once a worker toiling in the fields of Tesara, longing for adventure on the skies. His luck changed when an Executive told him that they needed another scout to deliver messages between settlements, and He happily jumped onto this offer, ready to explore whatever lies beyond his home…

Aircraft:

Name: Sunset Rider

Model: Jetrax

Weaponry: Dual Zamor Launchers that launch explosive rounds (Mounted on wings), Electrical Net launcher designed to ensnare opponents (Mounted in front of the Pilot seat)

Customisation: Reinforced Protosteel Armour covering Engines

Appearance: The Sunset Rider is a sleek-looking craft that has been painted a Reddish-orange like its namesake, and the sides of the engines have an effigy of the pilot printed on it, giving a thumbs-up.

This all seems fine. Zavon and the Sunset Rider both Approved.

Character:

Name: Saffina

Species: Vortixx

Gender: Female

Powers: Vortixx-level strength and intelligence; potential to use Kanohi

Gear: Nightmare (Elemental Attunement Sword) - A unique, scimitar-styled weapon with two parallel blades capable of dishing out multiple wounds per swing or thrust. it's real power, however, lies in the device that primarily makes up its handguard, granting it the ability to revert elemental attacks that make contact with it back into energy, which can then either be discharged back towards a foe in the form of blasts from the short barrel located between said blades or simply absorbed before being channelled to increase its effectiveness at cutting through objects. There are a few downsides, however; first and foremost being that these are purely reactional abilities, which means they can only function if there is an initial elemental attack to absorb. Secondly, the weapon can only store up to three charges (meaning three elemental attacks absorbed) before its reserves need to be expended, and possessing a maximum capacity effectively renders it unable to take in anymore energy. Finally, in order to keep it properly functioning, any accumulated charges begin to automatically disperse themselves after a fairly short period of time, meaning that they cannot be retained for use in any future battles.

It's hilt and handguard are also home to some small spikes and gems, but these are purely for decoration and possess little to no combat value whatsoever.

Zyglakian Hide Armor - Armor primarily composed of treated (and heavily disinfected) Zyglak skin, adorned with various other Rahi pelts and more traditional armor plating. While nowhere near as effective as the ability of a living Zyglak, this does make it capable for her to shrug off most glancing elemental blows with relative ease.

Personal Aircraft: The Crimson Takea

Allegiance/Role: Herself and whatever crew she happens to be captaining over at any given point in time, though she has built herself up quite the reputation with the residents of Cliffside, and there's a rumor going around that she might even have some less than scrupulous contacts within Fe.

Appearance: Saffina's natural colors consist of dark green and gunmetal, an oddity for her species, though her armor is mostly white with lime green accents. Her wide headress, consisting almost entirely of feathers and tassels, resembles the hood of a poisonous snake, and ends with a long braid intertwined with small, light blue crystals that extends all the way down to around her thighs. Her neck also appears to be slightly elongated, due to the rings she used to wear around it back in her youth deforming her clavicles, but has since stopped doing so after distancing herself from the majority of the Vortixx population.

Personality: Being one who takes pride in her perfectionism, Saffina settles for nothing less than the best; she only takes on crew members she deems worthy of pulling their own weight, plans every job down to the most minute detail, and is usually long gone with her loot before any form of authority arrives to interfere with her business. A sky pirate and smuggler through and through, she's always on the lookout for her next big score, whether it be a profitable weapons shipment, much needed supplies she can off-load onto the highest bidder, or the occasional artifact from the pre-reformation days collecting dust in some long-forgotten ruin.

One thing she absolutely does not tolerate (aside from disloyalty), however, is clichés; those who wish to board her ship best have their missing appendages replaced with viable prosthetics, and even uttering the phrase "arrr" is enough of a reason for her to toss you out of the cargo bay headfirst, preferably while still in mid-air.

Bio: Orphaned at a young age on Xia, Saffina was nothing but trouble from the start.

Turning to thievery just to survive, she soon ran afoul of the law and was put to work in prison, where she honed her skills working on experimental weaponry deemed too dangerous for the more prominent citizens to sully their hands with. Growing restless and longing for her freedom, she eventually fell in with a group of captured pirates, and, upon discovering that they were plotting to escape, immediately signed on to go with them in order to leave her former home behind her once and for all. Months spent taking note of the guard patrols, smuggling bits and scraps of technology back to her cell, and even starting a few unnecessary fights just to determine response times later had eventually all paid off, culminating in one of the largest breakouts in recorded history, one which she was sure would immediately lead to a grand life of adventure sailing amidst the Protodermis Sea.

Unfortunately for her, however, the captain of the crew had other plans, and she was soon sold into slavery on the island of Stelt.

Forced to fight in the arena for several years, she soon found herself being pitted against more and more difficult foes as her fighting technique continued to improve, one of which who wounded her severely despite the fact that she was still able to take his life fairly quickly. Knowing that this life wouldn't end for her unless she either did something about it or died trying, she began to formulate another plan to once again regain control over her own destiny, only to fall into a deep depression after being forced to spectate the most recent match of

the combatant slated to be her next opponent. Thankfully though, this actually turned out to be a blessing in disguise; when their former owner walked by her cell, happily counting all of the money they just made from selling him off to some shady individuals in the dead of night and clearly not paying any attention to their surroundings, it only took a second for her to shove her arm through the bars and silently snap their neck, and another to retrieve their key and unlock the door.

Events from then on are rather hazy, as she began to bury herself in a bottle soon afterwards. What she does remember, however, involves her and a few other escapees stealing a boat, and cutting a bloody, rage-induced swath of destruction up and down the coast. This eventually earned her a title amongst her former crew, one which she would eventually use to name her airship thousands of years later. And as for the captain who had betrayed her all those years ago... well, he eventually found out firsthand what it felt like to be disemboweled.

After the mass exodus from the Matoran Universe, accounts detailing the rest of her life up until now begin to differ. Some say that she found herself in Fe, only to be enslaved once again before stowing away on a trading ship with other less fortunate individuals bound for New Atero when they were still trading with the other settlements of Bara Magna. Others tell the tale of her trying to settle down and live a peaceful life in Tesara, only for her overwhelming bloodlust to force her into resuming her life of piracy. Those who've had a few in them will even try to weave stories about her being one of the founders of Cliffside itself, though these accounts are most definitely false, wildly inaccurate, and are really only told to prevent people from getting in her way.

Seeing as to how Saffina only concerns herself with the job at hand, however, the real truth, whatever it might be, may never be truly known entirely.

Aircraft:

Name: The Crimson Takea

Model: Airship

Weaponry: A Hammerhead-styled ram located on the bow, and broadside cannons armed with chain-shot forged from Weight Increase Kanoka.

Customisation: Sonar Disks rigged up to an additional pulley system designed to activate automatically in conjunction with the rest of its internal mechanisms, allowing it to detect other vessels in its immediate vicinity. Roughly half of the cargo bay has also been converted into a hanger of sorts for storing smaller ships as well, and its armor and frame have been thoroughly reinforced.

Appearance: Standard-ish Metru Nui airship appearance aside from the aforementioned changes, additional fins to keep up with the shark theme (two of which are positioned over the port and starboard hull entrances into the cargo bay), two rows of jagged, stationary plating on the underside of the bow to mimic teeth, and a mostly silver paint job with a few splashes of red mixed in for good measure to imitate the appearance of blood.

Anything else that needs to be changed before it's good to go?

These changes all appear satisfactory. Saffina and the Crimson Takea also Approved.

This is the profile for the Vortixx NPC that Taurek has been tailing.

I'll have up profiles for a couple of the Capstone bar NPCs soon as well.

Name: Silvana.

Species: Vortixx.

Gender: female.

Powers: none.

Gear: Kanohi Mask of Psychometry, collapsible stave for melee combat.

Personal Aircraft: The Whisper.

Allegiance/Role: She works as a thief, bounty hunter, and in general, a finder of things. While generally affiliated with Cliffside, but she is known to take on odd jobs for other settlements.

Appearance: Her guise is unremarkably standard for a Vortixx. Her armour is the usual metallic black, her height and build is utterly average, and she has no unusual or noteworthy physical characteristics whatsoever. This is, in truth, what makes her so effective at her job.

Personality: Silvana has adopted so many disguises and aliases over the years that even she has lost sight of who she used to be. Now, she simply acts and reacts in whatever way she deems necessary to accomplish whatever goal she has been charged with.

Bio: Having come into being after the reformation of Spherus Magna, she lacks the wistful memories of the comparative paradise that was the fallen Matoran Universe. The wastelands of the Great Barren are all she has known, and it shows. Over the years, she somehow managed to get her hands on a Mask of Psychometry, which she uses to aid her in her work. With Kanohi in general being difficult to procure, a rarer piece like hers proved invaluable, and made her services highly prized.

Name: The Whisper.

Model: Jetrax.

Weaponry: Three custom-built Hagah Plasma cannons. Their charge capacity has been increased, meaning that while they take longer to charge up, their destructive potential has also escalated accordingly.

Customisation: Thanks to the work of a talented team of Fe engineers, the Whisper truly lives up to its name, as its engines make almost no sound whatsoever. Perfect for stealth ops.

Appearance: The ship’s profile and plating have been altered to give a more sleek, streamlined appearance, and the entire thing has been painted an earthy blue-black, helping it to blend in with the sky during night operations.

Character:

Name: Skrall, "Sutrox" when in disguise to avoid unwanted attention.

Species: Skrall

Gender: Male

Powers: increased strength and endurance compared to Glatorian

Gear: Skrall tribal blades, sword, Thornax launcher

Personal Aircraft: Fist

Allegiance/Role: Fe - merchant escort

Appearance: he's... A Skrall. He doesn't customize his armor or anything fancy like that. He's black and blue, with silver armor and green tribal blades, with orange eyes. He will remove his shoulder blades and helmet if he needs to disguise himself, donning a blue cape and a helmet resembling an upward-facing Ruru.

Voice:

is what he sounds like in his Sutrox persona. When he's not acting, his voice is a lot more quiet and monotone.

Personality: Skrall lacks the bellicose traits associated with his species, being withdrawn and reserved, but with a boiling kettle of repressed rage underneath. This isn't because he is a lover by any means, but because he lacks a reason to fight. With his tribe scattered and his comrades dead, Skrall finds himself alone, surrounded by enemies and aliens. What good would fighting for their sake do? Nevertheless, he still forces himself to fight, because it is the only thing he knows how to do.

Skrall detests the beings of the Matoran Universe, including his masters in Fe. Those who particularly earn his ire get the nickname of "tin can". He tolerates servitude in Fe, but his true wish is to gather the scattered Skrall to either retake the Black Spike Mountains or to reclaim their homeland in Bota Magna.

In moments of peace, Skrall can be found reminiscing about the past, putting his experiences to writing. Though he can spin an epic yarn, many choose not to listen to his tales because... they have too much... Skrall bias.

When taking the alias of Sutrox, Skrall forces himself to put on a happy face. Said smiling face does not have a care for anything, but it conceals a barbed tongue. He adopts a demeanour of breezy apathy in his regard of others, heavily employing sardonic wit and black humour in his speech.

Bio: Being old enough to remember the Barrera invasions, the Battle of Roxtus, and the Battle of Bara Magna, Skrall is no stranger to being without a home.

After the planet was restored, Skrall stayed with his company, wandering the northern regions of the Great Barren as bandits. Their numbers slowly but surely dwindled, until he was the only survivor. Despite the world moving on without him, Skrall refused to integrate into the new society, only relenting when he had run out of resources and it was join or die.

Having been reduced to eating his own Thornax, a Fe scout patrol found him wandering near the "grave" of Roxtus. With nowhere else to go, Skrall reluctantly became an agent of the underground city. Due to not getting along well with most of Fe's citizens, he was eventually assigned to escorting merchant convoys, getting him out of Fe's hair while still being useful to the city.

Aircraft:

Name: Fist

Model: Axalara

Weaponry: two Hagah Plasma Cannons

Customisation: sealed and pressurized cockpit, allowing for high-altitude flight and limited underwater survival.

Appearance: the Fist has been painted black and red, with the design of the Valley of the Maze on its sides.

Character:

Name: Porangi

Species: Zyglak

Gender: Is referred to as he

Powers: Porangi lost the disease which destroys organic protodermis when he fell in a natural pool of Energized Protodermis. Otherwise he retains all traits natural to Zyglak.

Gear: A jagged sword made from scrap metal he found in the wasteland.

Personal Aircraft: The Clunka-clunk

Allegiance/Role: Porangi isn't really on the best of terms with any of the settlements, what with his species and all. So instead, he wanders the wastelands in between settlements, trying his best to survive in an unkind world.

Appearance: Imagine a Zyglak. Right, are you doing it? Bam, that's Porangi. Well done. You know what he looks like now.

Personality: Porangi is extremely zany, and if anyone can manage to look past the fact that he's a Zyglak, they'll find that his thinking is quite... unusual. Some would attribute it to madness, while others would perhaps see it as just another perspective on a world that at times defies logic. He does not seem to hate Matoran and (the now extinct) Toa as other Zyglak are prone to doing, rather, he seems to himself hate other Zyglak, wishing them great misfortune for how they shunned him.

Bio: Porangi was an outcast from the rest of the Zyglak for being quite frankly crazy even by their standards. He roamed the Matoran Universe, trying and failing at every turn to follow his species' desire to rid the world of Toa and Matoran. At one point he accidentally prevented a group of Zyglak from killing a Toa of Air whose teammates had just been slaughtered, gaining him further infamy with his species. Eventually, he grew sick of being shunned like this, and swore off following his fellow Zyglak's desires of ridding the world of the Great Being's intended creations.

Aircraft:

Name: The Clanka-clunk

Model: Really old Rockoh model.

Weaponry: A rhotuka launcher that fails to fire half the time. Its effects are a short stun effect which wears off quickly, and a lingering but faint burning sensation in the skin.

Customisation: The vehicle has additional deployable glider wings that allow it to safely glide to the ground if the engines are damaged in battle.

Appearance: The Rockoh is obviously very old, even older than most of the technology in use in this world. It seems as if it could fall apart at any moment, and it's a wonder that it can fly at all. The engines have a definite clunking rumble to them that signifies their old age taking its toll. The vehicle is named after this clunking.

Well, here we go on RPG number 2.  Hopefully this'll end better than Bionifight.

Character:
Name: Dedris Omekka
Species: Ta-Matoran
Gender: Male
Powers: Resistance to heat.  Also is a genius mechanic.
Gear: Protoscythe.  It's a scythe blade attached to a collapsible staff, with a mounting point to hold a disk launcher.  There's not much special about the scythe part, it's just a big, sharp curve of metal.  The launcher has a laser sight to help aiming and needs cocked after every shot.  When scythe and launcher are combined, he can swing the scythe to send the disk flying with extra power, or if he has no disk loaded, he can snatch his foe's disks out of the air.  This takes a lot of skill, however the laser sight helps guide his swings.  He also carries a toolbox, pack of protosteel disks, standard adventuring gear, but these stay in the Chieftain's saddlebags until needed.
Personal Aircraft: The Chieftain
Allegiance/Role: No real allegiance to any city.  Hails from Fe, however.  He's a mechanic who uses his flyer to zip out to crash sites and failing aircraft, fix what he can, and help people evacuate if necessary.
Appearance: Metruan build, dark red body, grey limbs and a powerless Great Kakama. Pictures: 1 2 3
Personality: Dedris rarely works for money.  If anything, he'll take a few widgets to pay for a night at the local inn and a charge for the Chieftain.  If you really want to thank him, though, offer him some neat pieces of scrap.  He loves tinkering and is a genius with anything mechanical or electronic.  He worked as a Crafter on Metru Nui, a blacksmith on Mata Nui, and before the cataclysms, he studied in Fe as an engineer.  His Skyfighter, the Chieftain, started as a stock model from Fe, but over the years he's taken it apart and rebuilt it several times.  Even in the most destructive crashes, given some peace, time, and scrap he can rebuild the machine from a pile of wreckage.  He's eager to help people anywhere on Spherus Magna, anything he can do to help people survive another day in the wasteland it's become.  He has two dreams.  The first is to recover his memories of his life on Metru Nui.  The second is to one day upgrade the Chieftain far enough it becomes capable of space travel, then leave Spherus Magna and find a new world to call home.
Bio: Inbound

Aircraft:
Name: The Chieftain (Mk.1)
Model: Skyfighter
Weaponry: A crystal railgun.  Holds an overcharged lightstone between two electromagnetic rails on the underside of the craft.  When the trigger is pulled, a charge shoots down the rails, accelerating the lightstone to blistering speeds.  The crystal shatters on impact, releasing its energy in the form of a small electrical explosion.  Pros:  Very accurate, can stun aircraft.  Cons:  Takes a long time to reload, and the EM rails take their energy directly from the Chieftain's battery.  Overusing the railgun will force the Chieftain to devote more fuel to charging the battery and rails, thus draining the fuel tank faster.
Customisation: A spring-loaded spool of cord underneath the seat.  Dedris will use this to tether himself to the Chieftain, or tie it to a failing aircraft and tow the pilot to safety.  The Chieftain also has a headlight for night flying, which Dedris has found useful for signaling Morse Code to other aircraft.
Appearance:  The Chieftain's body is mostly black with a few splashes of cherry and dark red.  Its wings also fold down when parked.  Pictures: 1 2 3

Gear: Skrall tribal blades, sword, Thornax launcher

Personal Aircraft: Fist

Allegiance/Role: Fe - merchant escort

Appearance: he's... A Skrall. He doesn't customize his armor or anything fancy like that. He's black and blue, with silver armor and green tribal blades, with orange eyes. He will remove his shoulder blades and helmet if he needs to disguise himself, donning a blue cape and a helmet resembling an upward-facing Ruru.

Voice: This is what he sounds like in his Sutrox persona.

Customisation: sealed and pressurized cockpit, allowing for high-altitude flight and limited .

Appearance: the Fist has been painted black and red, with the design of the Valley of the Maze on its sides.

This all appears reasonable. The last sentence in the customisation section looks like it's been cut off, so you might want to fix that up, but once you do that, consider Skrall/Sutrox and the Fist both Approved.

I'm honestly surprised that it took this long for someone to offer up a Zyglak character. Since the whole flesh-melting instakill virus issue has been alleviated, Porangi and the Clanka-Clunk are also Approved.

Character:

Name: Dedris Omekka

Species: Ta-Matoran

Gender: Male

Powers: Resistance to heat and the ability to heat up his hand, he often uses his fingertip as a soldering iron.

He also carries a toolbox, megaphone, pack of protosteel disks, standard adventuring gear, but these stay in the Chieftain's saddlebags until needed.

Personal Aircraft: The Chieftain

Allegiance/Role: No real allegiance to any city.  Hails from Fe, however.  He's a mechanic who uses his hoverbike to zip out to crash sites and failing aircraft, fix what he can, and help people evacuate if necessary.

Appearance: MOCs inbound.  A Metruan build, with a dark red body, grey limbs and Kakama.

Personality: Dedris rarely works for money.  If anything, he'll take a few widgets to pay for a night at the local inn and a charge for his hoverbike.

Aircraft:

Name: The Chieftain hoverbike

Model: Skyfighter class

Weaponry: A crystal railgun.  Holds an overcharged lightstone between two electromagnetic rails on the underside of the craft.  When the trigger is pulled, a charge shoots down the rails, accelerating the lightstone to blistering speeds.  The crystal shatters on impact, releasing its energy in the form of a small electrical explosion.  Pros:  Very accurate, can stun aircraft.  Cons:  Takes a long time to reload, and the EM rails are powered by the same fuel that powers the hover mechanisms.  Overusing the railgun will deplete the fuel tank.

Appearance: MOCs inbound.  Think of a motorcycle with wings instead of wheels.  The body is black, with splashes of dark red and cherry red.

Okay, a few issues with this one. Firstly, I'm fairly certain that a Ta-Matoran's innate powers are limited to just heat resistance. They can't go heating up their fingertips to the point where they're melting metal. Secondly, megaphones aren't really a thing. Message delivery nowadays it limited pretty much to handwritten notices and loud shouting.

I'm also a bit confused about this aircraft. You've referred to it as a Skyfighter, but based on the description, and the video link you provided above, it seems to be a completely custom vehicle. This is a Skyfighter. It's a glider-like aircraft with numerous engines to provide thrust, and wide, flat wings for balance and lift. What you're offering here is a significantly smaller motorbike model with fins that hovers through some process you haven't even actually explained.

Now, while there's nothing particularly unfair or gamebreaking about the Chieftain itself, I'm loathe to approve a custom vehicle, simply because it'll create a precedent for me to approve other custom vehicles in future. I did my best to create a variety of aircraft for players to choose from that were balanced and fair, while still providing enough options for them to not grow too boring. So I would politely ask that you modify the Chieftain to fit the existing range of available models.

Don't take this as a complete explanation because I'm tired and I doubt I'm thinking straight at the moment, but if you're concerned please wait until I actually build MOCs.  About the hovering part - Vahki can fly, right?  And given Dedris' skill as a tinkerer I thought he would have found some Vahki parts lying around when the Matoran returned to Metru Nui, and reused them with a bunch of other scrap to build the Chieftain.  So however it flies is however the Vahki fly.  About the rest... well, I guess I need to make adjustments to the design, but I'll do that in the morning.

Please mind, I'm not trying to create a whole new class here, it's just I saw the description and thought, "Oh, Skyfighters are small, light, zippy, sparse on the armor and guns - well, that sounds like the Chieftain to me!"  I don't want it to be its own unique thing, I just thought that description fit it really well.

But I repeat:  I'm tired, Dedris has no backstory yet, and I'm going to build MOCs, so please hold off on a final judgement until I finish those.

Okay, I think there's some misunderstanding here about how aircraft system in this game works.

There are no general "classes". The aircraft types outlined in the first post are base models. In-game, the factories in Fe produce the various aircraft types, which are pretty much identical to the ones that were used in Karda Nui, just without any of the weapons, or any other modifications. They then sell/trade these to the other settlements, at which point the new owners tack on whatever weapons, paint jobs and modifications they desire.

By the sounds of things, you're wanting the Chieftain to be some kind of personal, one-of-a-kind vehicle your character tacked together out of spare parts sometime after the Matoran returned to Metru Nui... which would mean it was likely made at least a century or two before this game takes place. That's just not going to work here, I'm afraid.

Here's the profile for the shifty Turaga in Capstone. I'll link this to the first post of this topic as well.

Name: Varim.

Species: Ba-Turaga.

Gender: male.

Powers: Turaga-level control over the element of gravity, and, having fuelled himself on pain and anger for decades, he has also developed limited shadow-based abilities.

Gear: Noble Kanohi Crast, and a short, barbed protosteel spear as his badge of office.

Personal Aircraft: The Gravity Of The Situation.

Allegiance/Role: A loyal agent of New Atero, reputed to be one of their best spies and assassins. Obviously, this isn’t common knowledge, and he is considered in Cliffside to be a great friend of the locals, providing certain popular pirates with intel on supply convoys and the like.

Appearance: His armour is smooth and unmarred, pitch black with only a slight purple sheen.

Personality: A suave, strategic thinker, Varim is all business, all the time. Beneath this pleasant exterior, however, is a boiling cauldron of murderous rage and pure hatred. Hatred for those who remain happy and content, despite the condition of the world. Hatred for the other settlements, for being more prosperous and popular than New Atero. Hatred for himself, for giving in to despair and letting himself be transformed into the monster he is today.

Bio: With the revelation of the true nature of the Matoran Universe, its subsequent destruction, and the extinction of the Toa race, many Turaga underwent a crisis of faith. Some took their own lives, while other retreated into exile. Some continued doing what they’d always done, while others, like Varim, disheartened by the realisation that the three virtues they’d devoted their entire lives to were an empty lie, caved in to their crueller, baser desires. Varim gave himself entirely to his inner darkness, exploiting his centuries of knowledge and wisdom to further the cruel cause hidden in New Atero’s festering heart.

Name: The Gravity Of The Situation.

Model: Skyfighter.

Weaponry: A simple electro-rocket launcher, identical to those once commonly found in the arsenal of the now defunct Exo-Toa suits. The projectiles only have a small explosive output, but release a powerful electrical discharge that can have a debilitating effect on aircraft systems.

Appearance: The fighter’s appearance is fairly standard, the only deviance from the usual build and colourscheme being a few wispy streaks of deep purple inlaid over the black.

Simple solution: Key ignition + Protosteel casing around wires that needs the ignition key to open. Oh, and a biometric scanner. Or an optical scanner. Or a key pad. Or a Rubik's cube puzzle with a specific solution that's unique to the vehicle. It pretty much just depends on how advanced tech can be in this world.

Also, something I want to bring attention to other players, is if you don't have a good way of locking your vehicle up, hijackers are going to be inevitable, and we'll probably see two or three profiles specifically designed for hijacking.

Hence why I've been locking up and disabling my vehicles since the days of Matoran und Panzer.

Granted, nobody had ever actually attempted to hijack The Dreadnought back then, and it's a little too soon to say the same for The Crimson Takea, but it never hurts to be prepared.

Character:

Name: Otho

Species: Ce-Matoran

Gender: Male

Powers: Mentally Guarded from Outside Influences

Gear: Otho is in possession of little belongings on this world. What he does have is listed below:

  • A knife with a cracked blade

  • A small, old notepad that he scribbles notes into now and then.

Personal Aircraft: Erika the Jetpack

Allegiance/Role: Hails from Cliffside, but lacks a strong allegiance to the settlement. Neutral leaning Adventurer, wanna-be Captain.

Appearance: Otho is of average height for a Matoran with a golden Komau on his dark blue head. Bright violet eyes dance behind the visor of the Komau, a stark contrast to the gold and blue. The rest of his body is the same dark blue, with various golden highlighting on his joints and fingers.

Personality: Otho lived in Metru Nui during the last days of the Matoran Universe, but was evacuated to the then-settlement of New Atero. The mixing of Matoran and Agori, on top of the collapse of the Mata Nui Universe, created enough tension to drive Otho away from the settlement to the not-yet-named Cliffside.

He found steady work doing minor repairs on various land and, eventually, aircraft. He found himself gaining a reputation for quick repairs for the criminal element fleeing the city. Unfortunately, this reputation got him wrapped up with a criminal organization which he didn't enjoy and feared for his life. Taking his jetpack for it's first flight, he fled the city.

Bio: Otho is a generally extroverted person and is eager to go on a grand adventure in life. While happy meeting new people, he's particularly afraid of anybody he suspects of having connections to the criminal elements back in Cliffside.

Otho has an overabundance of confidence in his mechanical skills which are less than mediocre in reality. He blames almost all of his problems on what he calls “Makuta's Gremlin's”; little creatures that are left over from the Makuta that are invisible to all but still cause issues in the world, that's his explanation at least.

Aircraft:

Name: Erika

Model: Jetpack

Weaponry: The Erika, as a Jetpack, lacks any weaponry at all. However at high speeds it can be used as a battering ram, albeit only once.

Customization: Additional Fuel Cell

Appearance: Large and rusty, the Erika is an older jetpack that Otho has patched together and maintained for a short time now. It's not 100% reliable, but it'll get him from one location to another. It contains a small storage compartment, but it is rarely used.

OOC: something's off with the formatting...

  1. In regards to the theft/hijacking issue, the first post does specify that players are only allowed a single aircraft in their possession. Now, I could go and come up with some complicated safeguard or unique key system to prevent theft, but I feel like that could create a whole bunch of other potential problems, so for now I'm just going to trust that everyone will play nicely and stick to flying their own ships.
  2. You're right, there's something really funky going on with the formatting, so I won't try to quote the profile directly, but Otho/The Erika are Approved.
  3. Finally, here's the profile for that Steltian Bruiser Parii is interacting with:

Name: Barlow.

Species: Steltian Bruiser.

Gender: Male.

Powers: Heightened strength, and the ability to fly. Also worth noting is both his incredible stupidity and uncanny luck. Sometimes.

Gear: A pair of rusted old daggers for self-defence, and a battered but resilient set of heavy plated armour, mostly hidden beneath a fancy trenchcoat he recently bought for himself.

Personal Aircraft: none.

Allegiance/Role: Formerly from Fe, he now works as a thug for hire out of Cliffside. Although he’s far from the sharpest tool in the shed, his past with Fe makes him the go-to guy for those wishing to pull of jobs involving that secretive settlement.

Appearance: Clad in the familiar blue-white colourscheme common among his kind, Barlow aint exactly pretty to look at. Centuries of battles, followed by decades as a slave, and further years as a criminal, have taken their toll.

Personality: He may be dumb, but he still has standards. Once he starts a job, he always sees it through to the end, and if captured or interrogated, he won’t spill any information (mostly because he’s forgotten most of it anyway). He’s known for spending most of his earnings on drugs and drink, and it’s this habit that’s held him back from advancing any higher in life.

Bio: After the evacuation of the Matoran Universe, it took time for things to settle, Decades went by in a blur, with Barlow taking up any job he could find just to stay alive. Eventually, though, he entered the employ of a group of Nynrah Ghosts, who took him to the site that would later become Fe. Barlow found himself stuck in the deepest, most inhospitable mines for decades on end, toiling away day after day with minimal pay, and no end in sight. Eventually, though, he began to work his way up the ranks, a series of convenient accidents paving the way for several swift promotions. In time, he accumulated enough money to buy his own freedom, and become a citizen of Fe.

He didn’t stay long however, setting out from the underground city to find that the rest of the Great Barren had changed significantly since his departure. Harbouring a deep resentment for his former owners, he found a life in Cliffside, using his citizenship, and knowledge of Fe’s technology and tactics, to help other criminals strike out against them. Just recently, he appears to have come into a significant sum of money, allegedly from a job performed on New Atero’s behalf.

Just want to point this out, but there are currently three different characters with no listed ships running around, two of them being GM NPCs, and the third being an actual thief. What's to stop them from suddenly deciding that they now want one, and that they're going to try to "acquire" it from somebody else?

And while everyone may be limited to possessing only one personal aircraft at a time, there really aren't any other safeguards put into place that prevent people from taking another on someone else's behalf, such as an NPC or other vehicle-less character in the case of a job, or to stop them from simply ripping off specific pieces or weapons for their own future usage before hooking the rest of it up to their own and towing it off to their friendly neighborhood scrap merchant either. Not being able to fly something due to an OOC ruleset doesn't necessarily render it unstealable.

This discussion sort of makes me want to try typing up a character who goes around repossessing and salvaging vessels for one of the settlements now, or at the very least, someone who runs a chop shop out of their airship.

Better get someone ready for that treasure hunt.

Name: Serka
Species: Water Glatorian
Gender: Female
Powers: Her mechanical modifications include a set of gills implanted along her neck, making her amphibious. She also has the increased strength and agility of Glatorian.
Gear: She carries a pair of war axes similar in appearance and function to Gali Nuva’s, just as effective as weapons as diving fins. She also has a diving knife under her skirt for sticky situations.
Personal Aircraft: Thornatus VX
Allegiance/Role: Herself
Personality: Serka is strong and confident in her abilities, willing to risk a little flair in combat even though the crowds have long since gone silent. She’s stubborn and fights to claw her way up where her skills can’t take her. Since her world crumbled around her, she’s become more pessimistic and vengeful, especially when it comes to the biomechanical invaders of her home.
Appearance: Serka is tall and athletic, as is fitting for her calling. Her yellow-green skin is all but covered up by her clothing in darker shades of blue with light silvery-blue armor over it. The armor is etched with flowing designs across her chest and shoulders. Her helm is designed to cover her face, and features a long, cruel spike protruding above the forehead. She also wears a short skirt with the Tajun water symbol dyed into it.
Bio: Serka was once a notorious Glatorian fighter in the Arena, destined to replace Kiina or Tarix as one of the Prime Glatorian of Tajun. Agori came from far and wide to watch her spectacular matches. That is, until Mata Nui came. While Kiina rallied the Agori in support of him, Serka was one of the most vehement opposers. “Why should we give up our way of life,” she cried to the people, “for outcast creations of the Great Beings?” She had watched grimly while the Arena fell, her village was dismantled, and she was left without a home. Not even the world-shaking battle between Mata Nui and Makuta changed her tune.
Now, Serka wanders the Barren, picking up work where she can find it, whether it be cargo carrying or fighting or diving. All the while she seeks revenge for those that removed her from her pedestal.

Personal Aircraft: Thornatus VX
Model: Jetrax
Weapons: The Thornatus VX features force blasters on each of its wings, as well as a torpedo launcher on the underside, primarily for underwater combat.
Appearance: Serka’s Jetrax was built from a modified Thornatus, equipped with a pair of large jets where the front wheels used to be. It still retains its grim decorations made from real bones. Like the Thornatus and Jetrax, its wings are adjustable, fitted close to the body for speed or far away for greater agility. Unique to Serka’s model, however, are the optimizations she’s made to it for water travel. The engines, important bits of machinery, and a few storage lockers are watertight, and, with her gills, the only thing she needs to worry about is crushing water pressure.

Just want to point this out, but there are currently three different characters with no listed ships running around, two of them being GM NPCs, and the third being an actual thief. What's to stop them from suddenly deciding that they now want one, and that they're going to try to "acquire" it from somebody else?

Hang on a sec. By my count, there's only two active characters without aircraft, namely Parii and Barlow. And Barlow can fly anyway, so his case is something of a non-issue. Likewise, if Parii's player decides at some point down the track that he wants his character to have an aircraft, I can easily organise something.

Okay, look, I've talked things over with a few other players on Skype, and there really isn't any sort of safeguard that we can implement that doesn't either distort the entire tech level of the game, or create even more problems than it solves. On top of that, no matter how perfect a system I try to set up, it's inevitable that someone, at some point, is going to try to find some way around it, if for no other reason than just to prove that they can.

Not being able to fly something due to an OOC ruleset doesn't necessarily render it unstealable.

This discussion sort of makes me want to try typing up a character who goes around repossessing and salvaging vessels for one of the settlements now, or at the very least, someone who runs a chop shop out of their airship.

Look, you make some good points, but I have to ask - why is this even an issue?

The traders from Fe show up to sell off new vehicles every couple of weeks, and players can easily hitch a ride to Fe itself if they want something sooner than that, or purchase one from some other NPC. The first post makes it very clear that new/replacement aircraft can be given out as reward for the completion of in-game tasks, and so on.

No one tried to steal other player's tanks and mechs in past games like Bionifight and Matoran Und Panzer, and just like in those games, there's plenty of ways for characters who've lost or lack vehicles to get them through legitimate means. If you want a new one, all you have to do is ask me, and I'll massage events to provide an opportunity to make it happen. Suffice to say, there's really no justifiable reason to try to steal them from other players, other than to be nuisance.

I'd like to have faith that you guys are going to be accommodating, and play nicely. But if rampant PC vehicle theft for no good reason starts to become a problem, then I may be forced to start handing out staff smites to the offending parties.

In the case of the Chieftain, I was hesitant to approve an aircraft that didn't originate from one of the existing base models, but as someone who owns both the Jetrax and Thornatus sets, it's difficult not to acknowledge the multitude of glaring similarities between the two in terms of design and function. So Serka and the Thornatus VX are both Approved.

Right... My bad. Must've counted Parii twice when you quoted the original profile. Whoops.

To be fair, I wasn't trying to imply that there should be a GM-controlled safeguard put into place, just that it was entirely possible to take off with someone else's aircraft without actually attempting to fly it, meaning that the "you can only pilot/possess one ship" rule doesn't exactly apply to this situation as a whole. Personally, if people want to keep their stuff, they should be smart enough to play in a way that allows them to do so. If you don't make yourself out to be an easy target, then you're a lot less likely to be messed with, and while it certainly sucks on occasion, that's usually just how the world works, unfortunately. As for not upsetting the tech level itself, there are some clever ways around this; removing whatever spark plug equivalent the vehicle uses, having the location of the actual ignition changed, or even outright dismantling some other key component are just some examples of potential actions that would effectively do the trick.

The issue here isn't so much that people can have their things stolen, it's more along the lines of them tricking themselves into believing that they're in control over every little aspect of their character's lives, which then understandably leaves them quite upset when the illusion they have concocted is eventually shattered. We've all done it at some point or another, and the only person we can truly blame for us falling into such an obvious trap is ourselves. As for Bionifight Infinite and Matoran und Panzer, however, stealing a mech would've been almost downright impossible in the former, seeing as to how strictly they were handled outside of the arena matches (and didn't they get teleported back out of the arena when their pilot ended up dying anyway?), but the latter actually did contain one particular incident where Lohi (Miras) tried to blackmail Kik (Dane) out of his Minotaur in exchange for his life. Granted, it wasn't exactly successful, but it still technically occured. Also, if I recall correctly, Ikira (Tex) of the Jatikko was considering something similar at one point as well, so there is a precedent for this kind of stuff happening. And heck, if you want to throw the entire Foreign Tech category from the BZPRPG into the mix, relieving weapons and such from a defeated foe is one of maybe two ways max (the other essentially requiring said character to be evil, or at the very least, morally unrestricted) that any Matoran-based characters can even get their hands on some to begin with.

In short, yeah, if folks are doing it just to be a nuisance, then break out the smiting. Or better yet, if and when they fail, simply toss their characters into prison. On the flipside, if players are good enough to actually be able to realistically pull it off, then they should be allowed to do so too, and if that just so happens to upset someone along the way, there's really not much that you can feasibly do about that aside from letting them get a new ride. Either way, I don't really see why this is such a big deal in the first place.

And here's Slimy Joe (I'm too lazy to come up with Bonkle-sounding names for absolutely everything).

Name: ‘Slimy Joe’ (Real name unknown)

Species: Su-Matoran.

Gender: Male.

Powers: innate resistance to extreme heat and bright lights common to all Matoran to Plasma. Also smells bloody awful.

Gear: A scratched, dirty Kualsi, and a small filleting knife, which he seems to use for everything except what it was actually made for.

Personal Aircraft: none.

Allegiance/Role: Formerly a member of New Atero’s guard force, he’s since retired to the dankest corners of the grimiest bars, drinking away his pension with the cheapest drinks.

Appearance: Still dressed in the tattered, stained remains of his old captain’s outfit, ‘Slimy Joe’ still bears the familiar colouration of his element, but dull and faded.

Personality: Joe is a twitchy, nervous individual, broken by the burden of past guilt, and weighed down by dark secrets he can never tell. He latches onto fresh conspiracy theories with feverish mania, and seems to harbour a deep resentment for the military leadership of New Atero.

Bio: The Great Barren is not an easy place to live in. Many of those who live there have survived their fair share of trials and tribulations, although some have fared better than others. The exact details of Slimy Joe’s personal trauma are unclear, but it’s generally agreed that he was once a high-ranking officer for New Atero, who lost all of the troops under his command over the course of one disastrous operation. Even though his superiors didn’t hold him responsible for the deaths (they would’ve executed him if they did), it’s clear that he still blames himself. He’s pitied by his former comrades, tolerated by the locals, and largely ignored by everyone else, but every now and again he comes up with some manner of convoluted scheme or quest, and tries to rope unwitting strangers into tagging along.

_______________________________________________________________________________________

Name: ‘Bloat’ (Probably not his real name, but it’s what everyone calls him)

Species: Ehlek’s species.

Gender: Male.

Powers: Greatly enhanced strength, but is unable to breathe air.

Gear: Jagged protosteel tri-talons, and a breathing helmet for working on land.

Personal Aircraft: The Makuta Killer.

Allegiance/Role: Ship for hire, often works with New Atero’s military.

Appearance: His appearance is fairly unremarkable for his species, aside from his pebbly skin being a deep blue, rather than the more common green.

Personality: Bloat is a glum, perpetually unhappy individual. With the oceans of Aqua Magna being practically uninhabitable, and many of his kind lost when the GSR plummeted into The Chasm, he’s resolved himself to life as a lonely outcast, occasionally helping others delve into the depths of the polluted Aqua Magna in search of treasures or wrecks.

Bio: Bloat’s past is an uninteresting one. He just lived his life under the ocean, until the GSR was destroyed, and he found himself unwilling to remain in the Matoran Universe’s dwindling oceans. He ventured out into the Great Barren, hoping to find a new waterway in which to make his home, but soon came to discover that his search had been in vain. Before he could return to the MU, however, The Chasm swallowed it, and Bloat was forced to make his home in New Atero.

Name: The Makuta Killer.

Model: Airship.

Weaponry: The ship is equipped with a powerful crane, and a sturdy diving bell big enough to accommodate a dozen beings. The ship’s hold also carries a number of breathing helmets and air tanks, as well specially made harpoon guns, which use miniaturised Devastators as ammunition, for defence against the creatures in Aqua Magna.

Appearance: Outwardly, the Makuta Killer is fairly unremarkable (aside from a wonderfully detailed painting of the Makuta-GSR getting its head smashed in), but on the inside, things are very different. Aside from the cargo hold, where passengers reside, the whole ship is flooded with water, with an entire microcosm of sea life living within it. It’s the one place where Bloat can still indulge in his aquatic lifestyle, and he guards it jealously.

Character:

Name: Maldrakk

Species: Skakdi

Gender: Male

Powers: Impact vision, elemental power of fire useable in conjunction with another friendly Skakdi.

Gear: Maldrakk carries a large machete with a jagged edge. He also has several small bags of broken glass inside a leather pouch, along with a small dagger.

Personal Aircraft: Bloodbath

Allegiance/Role: New Atero - Outcast/Captain

Appearance: Maldrakk is incredibly muscular. Standing just over average Skakdi height, he is a brilliant crimson, and so are his teeth - an odd genetic trait he's not willing to talk about. Beautiful green eyes, and the most horrifying face you'll ever see, with deep vertical grooves sliced into the flesh, leaving notorious scars he does his best to conceal with low-grade makeup.

Personality: Maldrakk is in full support of the silent cause for New Atero. This being said, he has a reputation as a dangerous ruffian throughout multiple places, and he's more than willing to act the part. Clever, deceptive, and intensely loyal to his superiors.

Bio: In the military of New Atero, Maldrakk made a name for himself, being able to blend in with the notorious crowds at Cliffside, and even gaining a reputation of being a good customer at Fe. That said, he is a spy of the highest capability, finding some way to get everywhere without any suspicion as to his activities. He is currently being tasked with finding out the maximum capacity for Tesara's willingness, and the direct path to the entrance of Fe.

Aircraft:

Name: Bloodbath

Model: Axalara, class T-9

Weaponry: Bloodbath carries two modified skyblasters, with ammunition feeds inside the chamber of the machine. They fire electricity zamor of high potential, modified specifically to pass through only entirely mechanical substances, and possibly shut down the flight mechanisms of smaller craft, and disable the weapons of larger ones. The bomb bay has been converted into a storage compartment, although it could just as easily 'store' explosives.

Customization: Bloodbath features a quick-raise blast shield, which cuts off the view of the pilot but also blocks enemy fire from smashing into the pilot's head. It's set at an angle of usage, to possibly redirect direct shots to fly above the target.

Appearance: Bloodbath is painted a dual set of colours, to appear as a shiny if dulled and scratched gray during the day, and disappear into a near-black coat at night. During the evening and morning, it's rather painful to look at.

Character:

Name: Dessimus

Species: Onu-Matoran

Gender: Male

Powers: Increased night vision, elemental tie to earth.

Gear: Dessimus wears a set of armour, not covering the face, hands, or feet, made out of the armour on the Axalara model. It is quite heavy, but just light enough to allow for reasonable movement. He wears a powerless Kraakhan, made by traders in Cliffside. He has two metal knuckle dusters with ridges over the knuckles, and a small wire cutter.

Personal Aircraft: Rie-cahere

Allegiance/Role: Fe - Mercenary

Appearance: Dessimus is tall for a Matoran, with wide shoulders, and rather strong.

Personality: Solitary, independent, stands up for the weak, masterless, friendless, and sometimes soulless. He's out to make his own course in the world, to stand by the right, to mesh into society and then revolutionize it, to stand by kings and crush others to the ground.

Bio: Dessimus watched the world crumble before him, and he was considered dead after helping some other Matoran escape from a cave-in. He awoke in Fe, and has remained attached to that group of Matoran ever since. Despite his close connection with the governing body there, he is not fully trusted yet, and is still let out and brought back in blindfolded.

Aircraft:

Name: Rie-cahere

Model: Jetrax

Weaponry: The primary weapon of the Rie-cahere is a skyblaster modified to run off of the power of a Kanohi Crast embedded in the ship's internal frame, letting the weapon fire blasts constructed purely on the mask's power. However, the function is primarily used at close-range, and requires a small cooldown time for the weapon to be usable again. The other two side weapons are Vykron-class gravity beams - steady, non-lethal laser beams that focus on a target and begin to increase the gravity as long as the beam connects. The weapon is relatively silent, but if the target disconnects with the beam for even a moment, the added gravity loses effect entirely.

Customization: Dessimus has added a special system to the inside of the cockpit. Secured by a tough windshield, a series of mechanical arms attached to the cockpit and seat automatically recalibrate to whichever way the ship moves suddenly, acting as automatic suspension, letting him pull off very dangerous turns and twists without running any major risks. However, they do absolutely nothing in the case of a head-on collision. The controls have been adjusted in their positions for easier reach, but are otherwise unmodified.

Appearance: Dessimus has modified the frame of the ship to make it more streamlined, faster, and harder to hit. The standard colours of blue and silver have been dulled away and repainted with a muddy colour to blend in with canyon walls, easily detected when above the sands that make up the vast wastes.

Now I'm sure I did a hundred things wrong with this profile, again, so bear with me.

Maldrakk, the Bloodbath, and Dessimus all seem okay, so they're Approved, but I'm a little confused by this:

The primary weapon of the Rie-cahere is a skyblaster modified to run off of the power of a Kanohi Crast embedded in the ship's internal frame, letting the weapon fire blasts constructed purely on the mask's power. However, the function is primarily used at close-range, and requires a small cooldown time for the weapon to be usable again.

The Kanohi Crast repels incoming objects, so I'm not really sure how that power would translate into a projectile weapon. Is it just... repelling the air in front of the ship, and thus pushing the Rie-cahere backwards every time it fires?

Look, provided Otho doesn't do anything stupid, the worst that might happen is he gets slapped with a fine, or tossed in a cell overnight. This situation is just intended as a soft reminder that actions do have consequences.

It's a skyblaster, which fires zamor, if I recall. It would be zamor with the Crast's power inside, except instead of absorbing into the frame of the ship like one with a different power would do, the effect would be immediate, 'cus that's what a Crast does. Otherwise you're pushing on the inside of a rather sturdy ship, and unless it's something like a Matoran-only vehicle that seems incredibly pointless.

Although, the idea of Crast-powered zamor might be potentially OP in other RPGs, like disrupting someone's internal organs, if the physics were different.

So it's a Skyblaster... that's been modified to fire Zamor spheres... and these spheres are somehow containing the power of a kanohi mask... and all it actually does is push ships back a bit?

That seems needlessly complicated and I'm honestly not sure if the functionality makes much sense. Wouldn't it be a lot simpler to use something like a force blaster, or repulsion Kanoka?

Force Blaster? Not familiar with this.

The thing on the Thornatus that looks like a Midak Skyblaster but isn't.

Not finding anything in my research. Someone mind giving me a general description?

Basically a blaster than fires some kind of concussive energy pulse/kinetic blast. BS01 is kind of vague on the specifics. That was just meant to be an example anyway.

My point was, if you want a kinetic weapon to knock back ships, there are plenty of existing options in canon without having to resort to a wacky nonsensical hybrid thingy cobbled together out of three different unrelated technologies.

After throwing a whole bunch of goofy joke concepts at Nato offsite, I've made an Actual Attempt at a Character. I've gone over this character with Nato to make sure I had the lore all correct, so rest assured I didn't just decide to make my character really rich and connected to important people without any discussion beforehand.

Character:

Name: Rorohiko

Species: Onu-Matoran

Gender: he/him

Powers:

-      Night vision, the usual fare for Onu-Matoran

-      Isn’t as strong as the average Onu-Matoran, but a little stronger than the average Matoran in general

-      Extreme proficiency with electronics and code

-      Intelligent

-      Good at repairing machines

-      Modified his body to have various plug-ins and outlets, hidden under armour plates

Gear:

-      Equipment for repairing electronics, kept in his bag

-      Very small computer, able to be plugged in to other devices for code work, his pride and joy and can be fitted into his forearm- can be hidden under an armour plate

-      Wears a powerless Akaku, mostly for the eyepiece

-      Energy shield generator. He’s not much of a fighter so he tends to just hide behind a shield when threatened. It’s essentially a physical shield in function, but can be summoned and dissipated at will.

-      Rechargeable all-purpose battery, for plugging in electronic devices. Can also use his inbuilt outlets, but obviously it’s not ideal to be using his own energy to charge everything

-      Tinted shades for when he has to go out into the gross bright sunlight

-      Fire Drones, usually kept in his home but occasionally accompany him if he needs an assistant. He has named both of them with really cool names: Doomslayer, and Deathrot, Who Death Forgot (Deathrot for short). Rorohiko put a blue neckerchief on Doomslayer and a green beanie on Deathrot to tell them apart.

Personal Aircraft: Rorohiko helps to make parts of ships, but doesn’t fly them himself. He usually hitches a ride with the trade ships, or pays someone for a ride, or borrows an airship from the Council.

Allegiance/Role: He hails from Fe, and has a workshop there. He works on building rather than mining, but also leaves with trade caravans on occasion to scope out new additions to his collection.

Appearance: Rorohiko is a little lean for an Onu-Matoran, and he’s often hunched over- usually over his computer. He often looks very tired. His body modifications are rarely on show unless they are being used. He is rather proud of them, though. He has black armour with neon green highlights, and his eyes and heartlight are also neon green.

Personality: He is not keen on social events and gatherings, instead preferring to sit in the dark and tinker with his relics. However, he is not outright hostile to other people, and does have and make friends; he just prefers to do his own thing. He can be a little sarcastic at times. He is very, very keen on what he does and will quickly warm to anyone who shows a similar interest. Though very bright when it comes to machinery, he is not as well-learned in operating as an independent adult, hence the need for Fire Drones to assist him in both his work and home life. He loves them very much, and has an interest in robots in general.

Bio: Rorohiko has always been very keen on machinery and electronics. His designs for new equipment have earned him decent wealth, which served him well on one fateful day; back then, he rarely left Fe, but was prompted to go meet with a client in New Atero to clarify some design plans for a project. There, he saw a curious device on sale that the Agori selling it claimed was from the laboratory of a Great Being. Seeing no harm in buying it- either it was a very small waste of money or an interesting new object to study- he took it off the Agori’s hands and thought nothing more of it until he was back home.

He spent many, many weeks prodding and examining the device between working on his other projects. It was nothing like he had ever seen before; it did not run through clockwork pieces, it used wires and diodes and glassy cards in a very complex maze. He went out more frequently, buying more of these objects when he could find them; most were in very poor repair, but he had a feeling these would prove to be very important. Then, one trip, he found an ancient tome with some brief but world-shattering information. From there, he worked on his original device like he had never worked on any other machine before; it was not the simple, laughable question of whether everything was clicking together physically, now there were electronic elements. He knew enough about that kind of thing from upkeep done on his own body. His friends worried about him when he had not been seen outside his home for months, but eventually, he burst from his shelter, holding aloft the product of his work: a small device with a screen that worked almost like a very simplified Matoran brain, able to solve problems fed into it by a user.

From then on, the Fe Council took some interest in Rorohiko’s work and funded his endeavours. Though it is slow work- the tech scavenged from the Matoran Universe and found in the Wastes from the Great Beings was very rarely in anything approaching good condition, and Matoran Universe and Great Being devices have some differences that complicate his efforts, the reverse engineering of the technology is making progress. Though it seems the Council is more keen on having these computers kept as a private, elite commodity, Rorohiko dreams of one day being able to create a computer that is cheap and useful enough to bring to the world at large, and become known for improving everyone’s life with his creation.
