Here's an extended version of the netflix trailer plus a whole new one!

I am excited for the lego anime

Fascinating! I wonder what animation studio LEGO tapped to create this series. It's surprising to me that LEGO introduced not one but two new art styles for this year's story (a more toy-based style for the webisodes and this animesque style for the Netflix series), but I can't complain when they both look so good. These trailers certainly have me hyped!

WHOA.

I may have made some comments that may have seemed a little down on this (since I was a huge fan of the more figure-accurate animation style of this year's webisodes, and this trailer has really brought out a lot of negative comparisons between them and this), but make no mistake—I am INTENSELY excited for this!

Some of the reporting I've seen says that the similarity in style to The Legend of Korra and Voltron: Legendary Defender is no coincidence, and that Studio Mir did the animation for this as well. If so, that's huge—most other Lego TV animations have been done by Danish animation studios, and for Lego to go to these lengths for a high-quality Netflix series speaks volumes about their confidence in the theme. I had been a little worried that this year might be the last one for Elves, but this has pretty much completely swept those fears away! September can't come soon enough!

Interesting. I was never a fan of the original animation; it seemed to choppy or something, it just felt off. The new animation looks a lot better, and I'm definitely feeling the avatar vibes when they start using their elemental powers. (Still, I do appreciate the animations that make them more like the toys, but I guess that doesn't appeal to everybody.)

I know nothing about the Elves 'verse, but dang, the trailer for that Netflix show looks like a lotta fun.

If you want to get caught up on the story, most of it's on YouTube!

2015 special ("Unite the Magic"): https://youtu.be/Otnwyl3Cw-4

2016 special ("Dragons to Save, Time to be Brave") part 1: https://youtu.be/EzmqK2MgmSA

2016 special part 2: https://youtu.be/xBOOjZzAM6E

Short webisodes (mostly side-stories and interquels): https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLRNbTEZ7dhL0kEjdU_onuF_wEZFc_xUC5

The 2015 special and webisodes have pretty rough-looking animation, but the later specials and webisodes are better, albeit still not as technically impressive as the Netflix series looks like it's going to be.
