Hapori Tohu Posted January 30, 2018 Share Posted January 30, 2018 We mentioned yesterday how the immediate celebrations of the 60th anniversary of the LEGO brick patent impact those of us buying LEGO, but they also had a corporate celebration in-person at The LEGO House. Jan Beyer wrote a post about the event for the LEGO Ambassador Network blog. Since the patent was issued at 1:58 PM, the festivities featured MOCs and modified sets with clocks set to 1:58 PM. Various LEGO sets and events all year long commemorate the 60th anniversary of the patent, but yesterday (at 1:58 PM!) was the precise birthday of the brick as we know it today. LEGO had previously made bricks, but they didn't have the now-iconic stud-and-tube design until 1958.
