Lubrication of bionicle joints

I was just looking through my bin of hundreds of bionicle pieces, and found some incomplete sets. When i pulled out nokama metru, I noticed the left knee and ankle were pretty stiff. So I took some white lithium grease and applied a small amount to the ball part of the joint. Now it's less stiff, but vibrates when I bend it. Was this a bad Idea?

It probably was a bad idea. I have often wondered what the effects of lubricant on pieces was, and now I know. I would advise trying to remove the grease, but don't use anything except water, to avoid damaging the piece.
