What goes up must eventually come down.

But like a phoenix from the ashes, that which falls can sometimes rise again.

Gameplay Topic

Discord Server

Welcome to the discussion topic for Skyrise: Ascent.

All OOC-only conversations, as well as profiles, are to be posted here. If you've got any questions, this is the place for them, too. The first post of this topic includes links to a list of character and NPC profiles, as well as a noticeboard linking to plot-relevant GM posts.

Returning characters and new players alike are all welcome. The gameplay and discussion topics for the original version of this game can be found near the bottom of this page, should anyone be interested in finding old profiles or reading up on past events (though this knowledge is by no means necessary to understand or enjoy this game). However, please don’t make the mistake of posting in the old topics.

Please use the following templates for profiles:

Quote

Character:

Name: what do they call themselves?
Species: what species are they? Most canon species (with the exception of Toa) will be taken into consideration, but it will ultimately be up to the GM’s discretion as to what races are approved.
Gender: does your character identify as male, female, neither, both, etc.
Powers: include here things like elemental affinity, vision powers, and so on.
Gear: this is where weapons, Kanohi, as well as items such as Rhotuka/Zamors should be listed.
Personal Aircraft: if they have one, list it here. This includes jetpacks.
Allegiance/Role: Which settlement are they from? Are they a ranger, criminal, outcast, captain, etc?
Appearance: pretty straightforward - what does your character look like? Can be a short description, a MOC, etc.
Personality: some description regarding what your character is like as a person.
Bio: Give us a bit of insight into your character’s past. Where did they come from, why did they choose this particular lifestyle/profession, etc.

Aircraft:

Name: what does your character call their craft?
Model: what type of craft is it?
Weaponry: what weapons does your craft have? Feel free to use canon weapons or come up with your own, but please try to be reasonable about it.
Customisation: There is limited room for additional modifications to be applied to some aircraft. This can take the form of extra armour plating, thrusters to aid in manoeuvrability, reinforcement to the cockpit or other vulnerable areas, and so on. New innovations have allowed for a single Kanohi to be integrated into the aircraft’s systems, allowing the mask’s powers to be applied to the aircraft for a short time. Again, be reasonable with this.
Appearance: What does the craft look like? Does it have a custom paint job, extra spikes, etc.

Character:

Name: Tacitus

Species: Elite Skrall

Gender: Male

Powers: None beyond the physical prowess of an Elite Skrall, though his lack of debilitating pain response might be viewed as a power in of its own right.

Gear: A two-handed axe with a built-in rhotuka launcher that fires intense pain-inducing rhotuka spinners. A dark plate helmet that covers his whole head.

Personal Aircraft: The Blind Abaddon

Allegiance/Role: Bounty hunter and mercenary at Cliffside.

Appearance: Tall, muscular, athletically built, dark red skin covered in a horrific tapestry of scars. Wears black metal leg armour and a black metal helmet that covers his whole head. He leaves his chest and arms unarmoured.

Personality: Tacitus is a man of few words, most of the time preferring to remain silent and let his actions speak for themselves. What lies underneath his silent, stoic exterior is at most whispered about in dark corners in remote places, these rumors painting a vague yet unsettling picture of a bloodthirsty sadomasochist on a warpath for pain and profit.

Bio: Very little is known about Taicitus’ past. Him speaking of himself or his past is virtually unheard of, and there are none who know exactly where he came from, other than from one of the old Skrall settlements. Few know of his activities other than his career as a brutal bounty hunter and mercenary, though any who know of him would rather refer to him as a butcher due to his preference for dead rather than alive.

Aircraft:

Name: The Blind Abaddon

Model: Axalara

Weaponry:

1. A rhotuka imbued with a lingering corrosion effect that can eat through metals on its target, be it a ship or person. This effect lasts up to ten seconds and can eat through up to a cubic decimeter of material, or up to five millimeters through thick hull plating in a large radius around the site of rhotuka impact.

2. A long range bolt launcher with a five (5) second blinding effect with diminishing returns. A target affected by the bolt gun will be less affected by it upon a second time, and not at all on a third time, with this immunity gradually wearing off over the course of around 10-15 minutes. However, the bolts also deal damage to their targets, providing similar blunt force as a strong hammer strike.

Customisations:

1. An integrated Kanoka of Invisibility that renders the ship, as the kanoka’s name indicates, invisible, though it does not silence the ship’s engine. How ever, it is unstable, and any disruption other than standard flying, such as weapons fire, taking hits, or even use of the custom thrusters will break invisibility.

2. An array of thrusters that gives the ship the option of a quick burst of acceleration, and increased manoeuvrability.

Appearance: Jet black with a metallic sheen or a matte finish in different places, forming an elaborate wing-like pattern across the ship’s hull.

Yay, Skyrise is back! Must... contain myself... to two profiles...

Name: Mirror
Species: Mimic’s Species
Gender: Male
Powers: Photographic Reflexes, allowing him to instantly and perfectly recreate any physical feat he observes. This only applies to movements, and cannot duplicate elemental, mental, or innate abilities, however he also has a set of implants that allow him to manipulate magnetic fields using his own physical energies. This allows him limited elemental mimicry with magnetic materials, as well as magnetic propulsion and repulsion.
Gear: His Shard Lance, a polearm with a swordlike blade and a long hilt, capable of replicating a wide variety of attacks. Its blade has been polished to a mirror sheen, and Mirror is obsessive about keeping it this way.
Personal Aircraft: Ricochet
Allegiance/Role: Tesaran Guard
Appearance: As a member of Mimic's species, Mirror has a reptilian head is covered by a silver helm with a set of fangs in the front and ear-like protrusions in the back. He has a wide, armored chest and powerful, yet agile, limbs that are able to quickly adapt to many fighting styles. His primary colors are deep blue with black and silver armor covering it.
Personality: Mirror’s mild manner and hints of anxiety do little to betray the skilled fighter he is. His photographic reflexes help him adopt fighting styles, even in the middle of a battle, perpetually growing his knowledge and skill. One would think all his time training would put him more at ease, but now he worries for the city he has protected all this time, seeing how easily a great power like Fe fell to wicked designs.
Bio: Mirror woke up one day in a shattered village. Those of his friends that were still alive had long since left him for dead. But he didn't know for sure, because he couldn't remember anything. Not even his own name.
He wandered the universe for years, searching for some way to reclaim the memories that had been taken from him, or the friends that had left him. Along his travels, he met one like him, a Dark Hunter named Mimic, who showed him how to unlock his photographic reflexes before running off to another mission. Left more confused than grateful, Mirror continued his own quest with a new name.
And then, even the world he had come to know was lost, and he had to find his place in this new Spherus Magna, though with the help of the Tesaran Guard, he has been making great strides. Protecting the citizens has given him a new purpose and new friends that almost put his lonely and confused memories in the past.

Aircraft:
Name: Ricochet
Model: Jetrax
Weaponry: A Pulse Bolt Generator mounted under the body. Similar to those possessed by Garan, it fires a slow-moving but powerful energy shot that grows with distance. Coupled with twin Impact Crystal Launchers, he can easily detain or destroy any who threaten the peace.
Customization: Mirror has fitted his craft with VTOL engines, mounted on a swivel to give the Ricochet the power of a Jetrax but with the maneuverability of a Gukko. It is capable of fantastic feats, many of which Mirror replicates from his quarry mid-chase.
Appearance: The Ricochet is a long, sleek Jetrax with razor-sharp silver edges and dark blue paint.

Name: Garuda
Species: Bota Magna Zesk
Gender: Female
Powers: None
Gear: Garuda’s claws are formidable weapons in and of themselves, not to mention her stinger tail. She typically covers her foreclaws in thick gloves to protect those she is working with, gloves which are usually tucked into her belt when not in use.
Personal Aircraft: The Sand Bat
Allegiance/Role: Tesara Messenger
Appearance: Garuda is petite with baby-like proportions and dark skin. She has a few white tattoos around her shoulders and belly. She wears tan and lime clothing designed to be light for the heat of the desert. Her head is covered in the typical bestial helmet of her people with a pair of rings piercing what could be called its “ears.” Her claws and tail are made of a tough, dark brown carapace.
Personality: Garuda is a young Zesk, as is easily seen. She’s relentlessly curious, perpetually energetic, and always in motion. Her upbringing in Bota Magna gives her an impressive speed, agility, and dexterity with all five of her limbs, even now that she’s been brought to the concrete jungle of Tesara. Though she loves to explore each and every mystery she comes across, the fate of her Bara Magna brethren is of particular interest to her. When not on duty, she’s often found in the outskirts of Tesara, communicating with them in their own language which she taught herself. They seem to have rubbed off on her a little too in certain animalistic mannerisms and a rare feral rage.
Garuda has few friends (somehow she tends to rub most the wrong way), but she does have an inseparable bond with Matilda (or “Tilly”), who became like a sister to her in their shared quest for their parents. Garuda relentlessly aggravates Tilly, who in turn puts up with it, as sisters do.
Bio: Garuda was born on Bota Magna only a few decades before the Reformation. She was a quick learner and quickly outpaced her parents, usually ending up in the tops of the trees of the nearby forest. Nothing was too insignificant for her curiosity.
Then she came to this world, a world of sand and primal Zesk. As Bota Magna decayed around her, she migrated and found her place in Tesara (along with a fellow wanderer, Matilda), where she could study the Zesk in more detail and be surrounded by the most greenery on the planet. Even through all that has happened, she continues her research in childish naivety.

Aircraft:
Name: The Sand Bat
Model: Skyfighter
Weaponry: None
Customization: The pilot seat is surrounded by a fan of wings and flaps that give it agility far surpassing a typical Skyfighter. Garuda likes to say it can turn on a widget and give you change. All the better for her low, high-speed flights through the streets of Tesara.
Appearance: The Sand Bat is pretty standard as far as Skyfighters go, with a lime and silver paint job and a Sand Bat skull (fake) on the front. The bulging fuselage has ample room for all kinds of packages for delivery.

Name: Akkitu

Species: Ko-Matoran

Gender: Male

Powers: Only cold resistance, just like other Ko-Matoran

Gear: A dark blue Noble Komau that he currently wears, a Kanoka Launcher, a 436 disk, a 225 disk, and a shovel.

Personal Aircraft: The Sight

Allegiance/ Role: Tesaran adventurer/ guide

Appearance: Akkitu wears a dark blue Noble Komau, and white armor. His eyes are light blue.

Personality: Akkitu is a very serious person, but he still has great curiosity. He also has anxiety issues, though they are not usually a problem.

Bio: Akkitu was originally a chemist from Artahka, who assisted the island's ruler in creating the first sample of Protosteel. Since then, he has become an adventurer based in Tesara. He is perfectly happy to serve as a guide though the dangerous parts of Bara Magna, just as long as he gets whatever he considers to be worthy payment in return. The money often goes to fund either repairs for his ship, or his many strange chemical experiments.

AIRCRAFT:

Name: The Sight

Model: Jetrax

Weaponry: Three Zamor Launchers, which shoot explosive spheres

Customization: Mounted directly behind the cockpit is a glass dome, which houses a camera. It is capable of turning in all directions, and a live feed from it is in the cockpit. The cockpit itself has been redesigned so that a Matoran can reach the controls more easily.

Appearance: Blue and black paint job. The cockpit glass is a one-way mirror, so one can only see out of it.

It's great to see the return of some familiar faces. I'm not seeing any issues here (likely because you don't seem to have changed too much from the first time these guys were approved), so Mirror & the Ricochet, and Garuda & the Sand Bat are both Approved.

Appearance: Blue and black paint job. The cockpit glass is a one-way mirror, so one can only see out of it.

A few small things here. Firstly, the Jetrax model is designed for larger races, so a Matoran would have some difficulty reaching all of the controls. This doesn't mean your character can't have one, but you'll either need to acknowledge IC that your character has difficulties controlling it, or use one of your customisation slots to redesign the cockpit to accommodate him.

Secondly, if I'm reading BS01 correctly, a 416 Kanoka is a Ko-Metru Reconstitute at Random disk? I'm afraid I'm not going to allow something that can mess up other characters on a molecular level, especially not one that can dodge attempts to block or intercept it.

Character:

Name: Paju

Species: Ga-Matoran

Gender: Female

Powers: Able to hold her breath for longer and swim better than the average Matoran

Gear: Paju carries a dueling dagger as well as a Slowness Rhotuka Spinner. This spinner causes the target to slow down dramatically, still perceiving time as normal but only moving at 2/3rds the rate. It only effects living things. The effects last for about 10-30 seconds, depending on how long she has to charge it. (10 is the default if I haven't had her charging it up in a previous post). She also caries a variety of tools for making minor repairs on her vehicle

Personal Aircraft: The Element

Allegiance/Role: Freelance Pilot

Appearance: Paju Is short and stocky with a powerless Kanohi Kakama.

Personality: Paju is an adrenaline Junkie. She loves the feeling of going fast. She friendly, self motivated, outgoing, and stubborn.

Bio: Paju Born not to long before Mata Nui's great battle, Paju stepped onto Bara Magna's soil with an imense feeling of excitement and wanderlust. As the new world developed, crumbled, and developed again she remained on the periphery, always looking for adventure. Once she got her first chance piloting an aircraft she realized she had found her destiny. With some help she suped up an old Skyfighter and named it the element. She now works as a freelance pilot, taking odd jobs in order to fuel her need for speed.

Aircraft:

Name: The Element

Model: Skyfighter

Weaponry: Dual heat blasters. One canon mounted on each wing fires off a thin ray of intense heat. Combined they are comparable to a Skakdi's heat vision. However they overheat quickly and can only be used in short bursts.

Customisation: The Element is outfitted with a special engine featuring a Kanohi Kakama. This allows the pilot to spend extra fuel to go faster, up to double the vehicles top speed. Doing so drains the ship's energy supply, but if kept within what would be the normal limits of the craft this engine is slightly more fuel efficient than the average engine.

Appearance: Paju's vehicle is shaped like a manta ray with triangular wings on either side of a body containing the engine and cockpit. (think the jedi fighters from the opening of episode 3) It is painted blue with yellow and red flames on the leading edge.

Six Kingdoms Characters: Mazor, Jephro, The Janitor, Informant

Paju and the Element look okay, for the most part, though I'd like you to change this:

This spinner causes the target to slow down dramatically, still perceiving time as normal but only moving at half the rate. It only effects living things. The effects last for about 5-10 minuets.

When judging weapons and powers, I try to imagine the worst possible scenario someone could apply them in, and in this case, I feel like halving someone's movement for ten in-game minutes would pretty much be a death sentence in a fight. Could you please reduce the strength or duration of the effect? Once that's done, I'll be happy to approve.

It's great to see the return of some familiar faces. I'm not seeing any issues here (likely because you don't seem to have changed too much from the first time these guys were approved), so Mirror & the Ricochet, and Garuda & the Sand Bat are both Approved.

Name: Akkitu

Species: Ko-Matoran

Gender: Male

Powers: Only cold resistance, just like other Ko-Matoran

Gear: A dark blue Noble Komau that he currently wears, a Kanoka Launcher, a 416 disk, a 225 disk, and a shovel

This Jetrax also has a somewhat larger cargo hold.

I changed the Reconstitute at Random disk to a Weakening disk (still Ko-Metru, though), and fixed the cockpit issue.

Character:

Name: Viann

Species: De-Skakdi (Skakdi of Sonic Affinity)

Gender: Female

Powers: Viann possesses limited control over Sonics as an element, but only in tandem with another Skakdi or when channeling it with her weapon. Her vision power (Electric Feel) is effectively taser vision, it fires two blue beams from her eyes that briefly stun an enemy for a few brief moments. Her Skakdi ability (Phantom) generates an afterimage of her movements and increases her speed by 300% for around 10 seconds, making it very difficult to hit her. This drains her endurance greatly, however.

Gear: She wears body armour that is reinforced at the arms, protecting her from excess sonic waves produced by her weapon. The weapon in question is a dual ended skakdi weapon, the longer end is a single edged blade held like a tonfa, with the edge facing away from her outer arm. The other end is a coiled sonic emitter/blaster, capable of blasting short ranged but incredibly dangerous bursts of sonic energy capable of incapacitating enemies within a few shots. These waves only reach so far, however, and are fairly inaccurate, especially at long ranges. This end uses Viann's elemental energy to activate. In order to use the sonic blaster she flips the weapon around, using her powers to activate it. She also has a smaller blade at her hip in case of emergency.

Personal Aircraft: Helix

Allegiance/Role: Mercenary for New Atero

Appearance: Well built, but about what you'd expect from a merc. She's primarily dark grey with black accents, with dark grey body armour covering most of her body except her hands, feet and head. Unlike most Skakdi, she actually wears boots in order to operate Helix easier. Her eyes are a dark blue, almost the opposite of regular Skakdi eyes and her spines are not very prominent, in addition to being mostly covered by her armour. She has a scar curving around her left eye.

Personality: Quick and efficient when doing her job but often extremely eccentric off duty, making jokes no-one else seems to get. She likes Xian culture, largely because of their large stock of exotic weapons.

Bio: Not much to tell. New Atero was the first place she visited and the attachment grew from there. She's surprisingly vague about her life in the MU, but she will tell that she used to be a bodyguard for small transport ships, and subsequently saw much of everything in the Matoran Universe, perhaps justifying her easy-to-satisfy nature when it comes to locations. Her scar came from a battle with a Zyglak pirate, who she managed to defeat but suffered an eye injury for a few weeks as a result.

Aircraft:

Name: Helix

Model: Jetrax

Weaponry: A force blaster mounted on the top of the vehicle, capable of rotating 360 degrees, as well as a front facing firework machine gun on the left wing, a weapon designed with the same technology as the Xian firework revolver which quickly overheats when used constantly. A front facing disk launcher on the other wing is loaded exclusively with disks of freezing in order to disable enemy engines and important systems.

Customisation: The engines on Helix are deliberately reinforced in order to keep the ship running as long as possible. In addition, a targeting system has been installed in the cockpit, folding down in a screen to cover one of Viann's eyes in order to help her aim her weapons easier.

Appearance: The craft is a navy blue and grey, and generally clean and in good shape. The engines look slightly mire polygonal due to the reinforcements made. The name Helix has been painted on the back of the vehicle in white.

Edited, reduced duration dramatically, increased speed to 2/3 normal speed.

Fun fact, I figured out what speed to use by making punches in slow motion IRL.

Appearance: Blue and black paint job. The cockpit glass is a one-way mirror, so one can only see out of it.

Okay, that looks good. Akkitu and The Sight are now Approved

Character:

Paju and The Element are Approved.

I'm a little wary of the tertiary power and machinegun, but given the limitations you've set on each, I'm willing to accept them.

Viann and the Helix are Approved.

Out of curiosity, would a Rahkshi character be considered if they used their staff and Rahkshi powers to fly around instead of an aircraft?

I'm afraid I'm going to have to say no to that. According to BS01, all of the rahkshi that were on Bara Magna were destroyed by the Golden Armour, and those that were in the Matoran Universe went feral after the death of Makuta.

Character:

Name: Toruhn

Species: Ce-Skakdi

Gender: Female

Powers: Elemental control over psionics, in conjunction with a second Skakdi, Telescopic vision,  mild elasticity power.

Gear: Implanted device in her neck allows the use of Psionic abilities through her voice, leading to increased suggestibility and mood enhancement/depression. Cannot be used to directly influence the mind. Suggestibility is limited in that the suggestion must be something a target would feasibly be able and willing to do, EG: no telling a person to jump off a cliff, stab themselves, etc. This power may induce minor hallucinations if the target is sufficiently weakminded enough to be suggested to certain things, but this is not guaranteed and is not an ability Toruhn counts on. Keeps a megaphone on her person. Firework revolver. Military side sword.

Personal Aircraft: Indomitable, Cendox(nonfunctional)

Allegiance/Role: New Atero Airship Captain

Appearance: Dull blue with faded yellow adorns a Skakdi who stands as straight as can be allowed given her form, with drooping spines that make her look older than she is.  Pale grey eyes gleam from beneath her deep brow, and her chin juts from her face like the hull of a great ship. No, Toruhn is not pretty, not by any standards, but she cuts an admirable figure, all the same, standing tall and proud.

Personality: Rough and tumble, with a hardened edge brought from a long life of hardship, Toruhn expects the best and gives it in an example to those beneath her. she holds a tactical mind in a package many consider to seem oafish, or dimwitted from her appearance. She holds fast the ideals of New Atero, a patriotic sort.

Bio: Once part of the Army of Skakdi commanded by Nektann, After the Reformation, Toruhn found herself adrift, without purpose. in the years following she would come to learn more about the strange people of this new world, and grow fond of them. To that end, she spent her time building trust with New Atero, before finally joining the military and advancing quickly to become an Airship captain. A natural for the role with her talents and abilities, she was given command of New Atero's newest class of Airship to test the capabilities of using the typically Transport craft in a military manner. In her spare time, she works on restoring an old Cendox V-1.

Aircraft:

Name: Indomitable

Model: Indomitable class New Atero Airship

Weaponry: With all space used in its aircraft carrying duties, the Indomitable has no weapons of its own, relying on escort craft, its own contingent of aircraft, and any weapons help by its crew.

Customization: Converted into a floating aircraft carrier, the Indomitable is separated into two halves, the upper and lower deck respectively. The Upper deck opens on either side of the ends of the airship, revealing a mostly empty, flat surface, within the floors are catapult launchers and catching hooks to launch and land aircraft respectively in the relatively small space. The lower deck can be reached via ladder or a pulley operated service elevator. This elevator can bring supplies and aircraft between the two decks, and the lower deck houses the crew, as well as being a sort of maintenance deck for aircraft. Four large air vehicles can be stored here, with an additional four able to be stored on the flight deck. for relaying orders, a series of tubes have been installed throughout the craft's various important areas.

Appearance: Built slightly longer and taller than other airships to perform its job. Painted to appear as the shifting sands from above, and the endless sky from below, The Indomitable uses this basic camouflage to help keep a very large, unarmored target safe.

Character:

Name: Temujin

Species: Fe-Glatorian

Gender: Male

Powers: None

Gear: Grapple device built into right arm, allows for traversal or simple grab and pull maneuvers. Uses a gravity 'hook' on the end of a long metal line. Left leg and right arm are mechanical and stronger than normal(About 75% of what a Pakari might output)

Personal Aircraft: The Orange Bandit

Allegiance/Role: Unaligned

Personality: Bombastic and larger than life. Seemingly unconcerned with anything at all, Temujin is a strange, violently bright spot in an otherwise dreary world.

Bio: A veteran of the Core War, Temujin has seen the long and storied history of Bara Magna first hand. One of a handful of the Iron Tribe unaffected by the Dream plague, he fought in the Core War, wherein he lost his right arm and left leg. Both were eventually replaced with powerful mechanical prosthetics. At the end of the war, he became something of a wanderer, fighting when he could and scavenging when he could not. No village would have him, being an unrepentant representative of the Iron Tribe, so he spent much of his time drifting from village to village, trading his own martial prowess for food water and the like. When the reformation happened Life changed remarkably little for Temujin, save that there were far fewer people who wanted him run out of town for simply being what he was. Eventually, he earned enough through various odd jobs to afford his own beat-up Jetrax. After so many millennia of tinkering with his own mechanical bits, learning the ins and outs of the larger machine was made much easier, and he ended up fixing it up quite nicely, soon offering his newfound flying abilities to any who would pay for them, whether in food and drink, money, or simply a good fight and a bed.

Aircraft:

Name: The Orange Bandit

Model: Jetrax

Weaponry: This Jetrax keeps its twin wing-mounted Midak Skyblasters, but replaces the central weapon with an Impact Crystal Launcher

Customization: Armor has been placed around the cockpit, better covering the pilot. This includes a frontal plate that can, with a bit of luck, deflect projectiles away from the pilot. This plate does impede vision slightly, but the trade-off in survivability can't be denied. Power output has been increased with a Pakari, allowing bursts of increased thrust, or more energy diverted to weapons for more powerful shots.

Name: Jira.

Species: Glatorian.
Gender: female.
Powers: An old implant, leftover from her service in the Core War, which supresses the effects of pain while she’s in combat. A limited, innate resistance to psionic powers, a side-effect of her survival of the dreaming plague, which has been refined thanks to recent training with former members of the Order of Mata Nui.
Gear: A barbed trident, forged entirely from salvaged protosteel. Well-weighted for throwing, and able to be easily wielded with one hand or two.
Personal Aircraft: The Tesaran Breeze.
Allegiance/Role: Captain of the guard for the settlement of Tesara, she serves as the primary intermediary between the city’s ruling triumvirate of elders and the rest of the populace.
Appearance: Her armour is simple and streamlined, basic plating over chainmail, and coloured a soft sky blue, with dim gold highlights.
Personality: Jira has always had difficulty fitting in. She never truly felt like she belonged in the iron tribe, and was never able to bring herself to adopt the ideals of the water tribe during her time among them. She was a poor soldier, a sub-par Glatorian, and only now does she feel like she’s finally found her place in the world. She’s well respected by the people of Tesara, and entirely devoted to the protection of the settlement.
Bio: Once, long ago, Jira counted herself among the populace of the iron tribe. One of the few members of the warrior caste to survive the dreaming plague, she struck off on her own, forsaking the other’s ill-conceived scheme to change their blue/grey colouration to orange, and instead adding a deeper blue, and a touch of gold, to pass herself off as a member of the water tribe. The ruse worked, and she fought as one of their number over the course of the core war, and later as a Glatorian. Wounded during the destruction of Tajun, she was unable to aid in the fight against the Skrall or Makuta’s forces, and after the reformation, it took her many years to figure out her new path in life. Eventually, though, she found acceptance and accomplishment in Tesara, slowly working her way up through the ranks until she was appointed the role of captain.

Name: The Tesaran Breeze.
Model: Axalara.
Weaponry: A pair of core war era blasters, which launch simple metal spheres with explosive speed. The two weapons are hooked up to the same firing mechanism, meaning that both fire together. Her bomb-bay carries sonic seismic charges, which produce a disorienting, far-reaching shockwave and burst of sound, useful for scattering beasts or dispersing crowds, but with no lasting harmful effects.
Customisation: The Breeze is equipped with an afterburner system that allows it to put on brief bursts of increased speed to aid in evasion and combat manoeuvrability.
Appearance: The ship remains largely unchanged from the original Axalara design, the only noteworthy addition being that it’s colouration has been changed to grey and dark blue, to honour the old Iron Tribe.

________________________________________________________________________

Name: Those Two Guards.
Species: Bo-Matoran.
Gender: Male.
Powers: Innate understanding of plant attributes.
Gear: Handcuffs, shortswords, and kanoka launchers (using powerless disks).
Personal Aircraft: none.
Allegiance/Role: Low-ranking guards in service of Tesara.
Appearance: Wholly uninteresting, unremarkable Bo-Matoran. Their bodies are differing shades of green, with blue highlights, and they both wear boring old Kanohi Haus.
Personality: The higher ranking of the pair has a tendency towards making bad jokes, and seizing any opportunity to steal credit. The second has little choice but to tolerate his superior’s shenanigans.
Bio: Their backstories are boring, for they have led boring lives. However, despite their low rank and lack of anything even remotely resembling real initiative or skill, they have a bizarre tendency to find themselves in just the right place, at just the right time, to get caught up in whatever craziness happens to be going on. Call it luck, call it coincidence, they just call it a day’s work.

NPCs for New Atero

Name: Hakkzan, AKA, “His Spikiness”.
Species: Ta-Skakdi.
Gender: Male.
Powers: control over the element of fire in conjunction with another Skakdi, impact vision, and a special tertiary power that allows him to utilise the kinetic energy of blows and impacts to his own body to temporarily increase his physical size.
Gear: Due to a mutation or infection of unclear origin, his body is encrusted with spiky growths of bone, making him a nightmare in close combat, but also making sitting or lying down quite uncomfortable for him.
Personal Aircraft: none.
Allegiance/Role: One of the leading figures in New Atero’s parliament.
Appearance: Unarmoured, and with loose-fitting clothing, Hakkzan’s body is criss-crossed with scars. His spines are jagged and torn, and his eyes are a baleful yellow.
Personality: Although his growths cause him near-constant discomfort and pain, Hakkzan is quite a jovial and welcoming being. Having been manipulated for so long, he has become incredibly determined to make up for the mistakes of his past.
Bio: Though he was being manipulated by the Skrall behind the scenes for much of his original rule, he has still remained popular with the people, having been instrumental in helping repair relations with the other settlements in the wake of the war between New Atero and Fe.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Name: Doctor K.
Species: Kestora.
Gender: Male.
Powers: None.
Gear: Various obscure pieces of vaguely-threatening-looking medical equipment.
Personal Aircraft: None.
Allegiance/Role: Resident mad scientist for New Atero, parliament member.
Appearance: Slightly taller than a Matoran, but similar in his bio-mechanical nature, Doctor K is clad in purple-black armour, and wears a powerless Kanohi of unique design and unknown origin.
Personality: Like most Kestora, Doctor K has a conspicuous lack of empathy or concern for other beings, although he possesses a profound enthusiasm for discovery and research, frequently conducting unspecified experiments in the basement of the city’s central spire.
Bio: No one’s quite sure where he came from, or what he does in that basement all day. No one really wants to know, either. When he isn’t in the basement, he’s usually found in the parliament building, functioning as the cold voice of logic amidst the conflicting, emotional viewpoints of other members.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________

Name: Commander Coyle
Species: Skrall
Gender: Male.
Powers: None.
Gear: Standard Skrall sword and shield.
Personal Aircraft: The Mace of Roxtus
Allegiance/Role: Parliament representative for the Skrall populace.
Appearance: Coyle’s look is fairly standard for a Skrall, though the highlights on his armour that would ordinarily be red or green have been changed to gold, signifying his status as commander of New Atero’s Skrall military.
Personality: This Skrall is fairly empathetic, for a member of his species. Being one of the former slaves rescued from Fe in the war, he cares greatly about the lives and livelihoods of his people, and does his best to keep the peace between the citizens of New Atero.
Bio: Though the freed Skrall were of course grateful for Tuma, Branar, and Stronius for orchestrating their freedom, the duplicitous, warmongering actions of the trio earned them no favours among the people of New Atero, and they wisely decided to withdraw from public view. The Skrall elected a new leader to represent their interests, settling on Coyle, whose status as a former slave, and progressive viewpoints, made him the best candidate to ensure continued cooperation between the Skrall community, and others in New Atero.

Name: The Mace of Roxtus
Model: Rockoh
Weaponry: Two electro-missile launchers.
Customisation: The Mace comes equipped has two smaller manoeuvring thrusters mounted on its sides, making it slightly more dextrous and agile than the average Rockoh. In addition, a Kanohi Hau has been integrated into the aircraft, allowing it to generate a weak energy shield that can last for up to thirty seconds. However, the shield takes several seconds to activate, and several minutes to recharge between uses, and the weapons cannot be used while the shield is active.
Appearance: The Mace of Roxtus has a tapered, torpedo-like profile, is coloured a uniform black, and is dotted with large, blunt spikes, making it resemble a vehicular version of the clubs used by some elite Skrall.

Character:

Name: Drukann

Species: Skakdi

Gender: Male

Powers: Drukann is a Skakdi of Fire. He has impact vision and strength unmatched by most other residents of the wasteland.

Gear: Drukann has two brass knuckles which allow him to channel his fire powers, be it shooting fire out of his fists or imbuing his fists with fire when he punches someone.

Personal Aircraft: Irnakk's Inferno

Allegiance/Role: Cliffside, Mercenary for hire.

Appearance: Drukann is tall and buff, with a dark red main colour and a keetorange secondary colour. His chest armour is a dark bronze one, and his eyes are an electric blue colour.

Personality: Drukann has had his share of hardships, and as a result has become quite cynical of the world. He has little regard for the lives of others, and mostly just cares about getting paid so he can continue his habit of drinking himself into a stupor. For him, every day is just yet another day in a line of days since the Battle of the Titans where his life turned for the worse, and the only upside is that if he's got coin, he can drown his sorrows in a bottle. When on an assignment, he's cold-blooded and ruthless, taking the most pragmatic approach to situations in order to carry out his assignment.

Bio: Gruff and life-worn, Drukann was among the soldiers who first stormed Bara-Magna during the battle of the titans. But when the battle turned out of their favour, namely when the rahkshi where neutralised and Makuta defeated, he broke rank and retreated from the battle, saving his own hide from any retribution their enemies would see fit to serve. Since then, he'd tried his best to make a living in the wasteland, defending himself from the various rahi and beasts that traversed this new inhospitable world, and generally trying his best to not die. Eventually, he managed to get a hold of a Jetrax after murdering its pilot and taking the craft for himself. Since then, he's customised it to his liking. Nowadays, he's a mercenary for hire, mostly hanging around at Cliffside, drinking and brawling with its residents.

Aircraft:

Name: Irnakk's Inferno

Model: Jetrax

Weaponry: Two rapid fire bolt launchers imbued with lingering flame. One force cannon that has a stun effect.

Customisation:

The craft has greatly increased armour strength, allowing it to physically collide with other craft without much damage to itself.

The craft has a kanoka of strength integrated, which increases the durability of the craft and its pilot as well as boosting its thrusters considerably for ten seconds, before needing to recharge for five minutes.

Appearance: The Jetrax is blood red with orange flame patterns. There are plenty of gunmetal spikes sticking out of both strategic locations for ramming other vehicles, as well as in locations that increase its intimidation factor.

---------------

Character:

Name: Porangi

Species: Zyglak

Gender: Is referred to as he

Powers: Porangi lost the disease which destroys organic protodermis when he fell in a natural pool of Energized Protodermis. Otherwise he retains all traits natural to Zyglak.

Gear: A jagged sword made from scrap metal he found in the wasteland.

Personal Aircraft: The Clunka-clunk

Allegiance/Role: Porangi isn't really on the best of terms with any of the settlements, what with his species and all. So instead, he wanders the wastelands in between settlements, trying his best to survive in an unkind world.

Appearance: Imagine a Zyglak missing one arm. Right, are you doing it? Bam, that's Porangi. Well done. You know what he looks like now.

Personality: Porangi is extremely zany, and if anyone can manage to look past the fact that he's a Zyglak, they'll find that his thinking is quite... unusual. Some would attribute it to madness, while others would perhaps see it as just another perspective on a world that at times defies logic. He does not seem to hate Matoran and (the now extinct) Toa as other Zyglak are prone to doing, rather, he seems to himself hate other Zyglak, wishing them great misfortune for how they shunned him.

Bio: Porangi was an outcast from the rest of the Zyglak for being quite frankly crazy even by their standards. He roamed the Matoran Universe, trying and failing at every turn to follow his species' desire to rid the world of Toa and Matoran. At one point he accidentally prevented a group of Zyglak from killing a Toa of Air whose teammates had just been slaughtered, gaining him further infamy with his species. Eventually, he grew sick of being shunned like this, and swore off following his fellow Zyglak's desires of ridding the world of the Great Being's intended creations.

Aircraft:

Name: The Clanka-clunk

Model: Really old Rockoh model.

Weaponry:

1. A rhotuka launcher that fails to fire half the time. Its effects are a short stun effect which wears off somewhat quickly, and a lingering burning sensation in the skin.

2. An energy blaster that looks even more ancient than the Clanka Clunk. It takes between a minute to ten minutes to recharge, depending on how badly it misfires. Can’t shoot straight, but a blast from this gun can punch through most armour and hull.

Customisation:

1. The vehicle has additional deployable glider wings that allow it to safely glide to the ground if the engines are damaged in battle.

2. An integrated kanoka of regeneration can slowly repair any damage it receives. The more damaged the craft is, the more time repairs will take.

Appearance: The Rockoh is obviously very old, even older than most of the technology in use in this world. It seems as if it could fall apart at any moment, and it's a wonder that it can fly at all. The engines have a definite clunking rumble to them that signifies their old age taking its toll. The vehicle is named after this clunking.

Why am I doing this again?  Somebody stop me.

... Okay, nobody actually stop me.  I actually want to bring this gal back.

Character:

NAME: Hestala

SPECIES: Vortixx

GENDER: Female

POWERS: None

GEAR:

  • Hooks- A pair of medium-sized silver hooks with black handles.  The blunt sides of the hooks are used about as much as the pointy sides.
  • Money Bags- Pouches hanging from Hestala’s belt, containing several hundred widgets.

PERSONAL AIRCRAFT: The Vista Baby

ALLEGIANCE/ROLE: Hestala hails from Cliffside and works as a professional thief.

APPEARANCE: Hestala is a tall, curvy, gray-skinned Vortixx with purple eyes and silver "hair" styled to resemble a ponytail held in place with ivory chopsticks.  Sparsely-placed black armor leaves her biceps, thighs, and midsection bare, allowing her to show off her tattoos- angular purple designs on her arms and legs, and a shallow white crescent on her lower belly.  A black velvet waist cape hangs from her belt, and a gold chain hangs from her neck.  The claws on her fingers are painted white.

PERSONALITY: First and foremost, Hestala is a Vortixx of expensive tastes, never settling for anything less than the highest quality furniture, jewelry, drinks, or lovers.  She is very intelligent and creative, no doubt a necessity when coming up with new methods to steal from others in order to fund her lavish tastes.  Lastly, she is a huge flirt and a terrible tease, calling everyone "dahling" regardless of their gender.  Most of the time it's a ruse, but if she really likes her target, it may become genuine.

BIO: Born to parents who weren't well-off monetarily, Hestala spent much of her childhood and early adulthood trying to find lucrative job opportunities for her and her family in an attempt to rectify their situation.  After a string of failed attempts, she took to the streets in desperation and took up thievery, devising new and exciting ways to steal from others and eventually developing something of an addiction to it.  This succeeded in increasing her parents' bank account, but by that time most, if not all, of Cliffside had it in for her.  So Hestala packed up her riches and her airship and left, taking her greed to the rest of the world.

Aircraft:

NAME: The Vista Baby

MODEL: Airship

WEAPONRY: Three retractable Midak Skyblasters stored in the nose.

CUSTOMIZATION: Heavily downsized to about 2/3 the size of a regular airship.  Four small extra boosters that work in conjunction with the Chute Booster already installed.

APPEARANCE: The Vista Baby is a small, but well-kept, airship with a polished lavender exterior and lavishly upholstered interior.  Interior space has been downsized along with the rest of the ship, with most of the space being utilized for storing Hestala's riches.  There is room inside for a pilot and three passengers, and in a special section of the airship, there is a soft bed built for two.

Name: Rakin

Species: Glatorian (fire)

Gender: Male

Powers: None

Gear: Madik skyblaster with aiming sight, doesn't always carry it on his person. He also has a large box of various tools. In particular he likes to use a large wrench (about the length of his forearm) as a mele weapon. He owns a pet Brakas Monkey that he has trained to fetch his tools.

Allegiance/roll: Mechanic aboard the New Atero Airship Indomnible.

Personal Aircraft: none

Appearance: Rakin wears rusty red and orange armor. He is somewhat Lanky and always covered in varous mechanical fluids.

Personality: Rakin is hard working, dedicated, and loyal to his superior officers. He has a hard time interacting with people, so he spends most of his time repairing airships. He can come off as grumpy and his speech lacks eloquence.

Bio: Rakin was never a leader. When the core war began Rakin joined because that's what the Lord of Fire needed. When the great calamity reduced the planet to a desert Rakin fought as a glatorian because that's what the village needed. When a giant robot landed on the planet, it was another day of taking orders. After Makuta's defeat one of the creatures from inside the robot approached him and Rakin made the mistake of feeding it, and it never left. Once again, the duty of his leaders called and Rakin found himself serving as a mechanic in the military.

Alright, this looks better. Tacitus & the Blind Abaddon are Approved

Sounds fun. I missed it last time, so you bet I'm in this time.

Character:

Name: Laryna, the Engineer-Witch

Species: Vortixx

Gender: Female

Powers: Technomancy provided by Mask of Biomechanics; A limited ability to mentally interface and control machinery around her, depending on range and complexity of the tech. She cannot affect people’s armor without their consent, nor can she control other vehicles, but she can cause minor malfunctions to some stationary vehicles’ basic systems and augment her control over the Prodigal Goat as she knows her ship so well.

Gear: Laryna wears a Kanohi of Biomechanics as a component of her chestplate armor. She carries an assortment of tools on a belt, such as wrenches, a flashlight, and a small plasma torch. For self defense, she keeps a handheld slugthrower blaster at her hip which fires non-explosive projectiles (essentially a revolver).

Personal Aircraft: The Prodigal Goat

Allegiance/Role: Former Fe airship technician; current freelance engineer based in Tesara.

Appearance: Laryna is a fairly ordinary-looking Vortixx specimen with ebony armor, shimmering blue tassels at the back of her head, and brilliant green eyes, but her embellishments and personality make her stick out from the rest. She wears a black leather jacket decorated with multitude of pins and patches with occult and pop cultural references, and modified her chest armor to accept a kanohi. Her tools and gear rattle a bit with her step, and she walks with a slightly provocative strut that belies her inner insecurities in favor of sheer cool factor.

Personality: Laryna has become known as an engineer-witch for her technomancy, fascination of creepy things, and sheer technological wizardry, relishing in the mystique of the title and the fear it created in the hearts of the pure and superstitious alike. She typically gestures when using her power, adding to the look of “magical abilities.”

Challenges are hard for her to turn down, and she has gotten used to living on the edge; while not exactly brave, she enjoys thrills, and selfishly throws herself in harm’s way on a regular basis. She likes taking things apart and putting them back together, and tinkering with her airbike has been her labor of love. When she needs to think, taking her speeder out for long rides clears her mind.

Bio: Once, long ago, Laryna was a repairwoman working in one of Xian’s factories, but the ambition bug bit her just as hard as any female Vortixx and she set out to prove her chops to her bosses. She tried to learn everything she could about the technology she fixed, and even attained status from ascending The Mountain at the expense of those she was with. In the end, however, her world crumbled as it did for everyone else from the Mata Nui Robot, and she had to adapt to life on Bara Magna and became a fairly accomplished engineer in Fe infamous for taking on jobs few others would oil their hands with—and doing it better than those who would. She specialized in fixing and reverse-engineering things, but likes using her problem-solving brain to do some mild mercenary work on the side to pay the bills. While not a violent person, like most Vortixx she can be selfish and cruel, though she will always honor bargains and hard-earned alliances.

Aircraft:

Name: The Prodigal Goat

Model: Rockoh

Weaponry: 1) EMP mines: Meant as a defensive armament, these are deployed to the rear of the craft and explode in a burst of nonlethal electromagnetic energy meant to disrupt or even disable a pursuing vehicle for a short time;

2) Forward-facing crystal cannons: A complement of twin guns that fire supercharged crystal bolts. Pulling the trigger shoots two bolts at once, and the guns can keep up to two shots ready to go at any moment; additional shots need to be primed for ten seconds before they can be fired.

Customization: 1) Embedded Kanohi Hau: For when the battering ram on the front wasn’t supposed to be used [yet] and other anticipated mishaps, the connected Kanohi, when triggered, creates a shield that protects Laryna and the Goat from physical harm. Like with the normal mask, this does not protect from ambush or unexpected events.

2) HUD-enabled windshield; a transparent protodermis screen with a holographic display that tells Laryna the various metrics of the vehicle, as well as a basic sight/guidance system for the forward guns.

Appearance: The Goat is a gunmetal grey and blue Rockoh model with heavy aesthetic modifications. The seat has been made more comfortable with leather and padding, the cockpit has been elongated slightly to accommodate saddlebags and a more relaxed posture, the engine made to purr when idle and roar menacingly when throttled, the sides have been decorated with a myriad of frightening sigils and spikes, and some components are painted to look blood splattered. It gives off the impression of an airbike with many secrets, which Laryna is very proud of. She refers to it sometimes as her “funmobile” for unknown reasons.

We'll do one more for now and then I'll hold off on any more for a bit.

Character:

Name: Tirkah

Species: Ga-Glatorian

Gender: Male

Powers: Great Being implant allows for invisibility. Unlike a Huna, this implant makes the user's skin bend light, such that they do not leave a shadow. This effect is not perfect, however, the more he moves the more his outline is able to be seen, to the point where standing still leaves him nearly undetectable to the eyes, but sprinting would leave quite a blurry and shimmering outline.. Similar to Active Camo from the popular Halo series of video games.

Gear: Water Axe: a remnant of the world before, this weapon is both a useful Axe and can through unknown means, blast water at a high pressure, able to knock people and fairly large objects over with ease. Tirkah has no way of controlling the output, nor does he have any means of controlling the water once it leaves the axe.

Personal Aircraft: The Silver Star The Right Pain in the

Allegiance/Role: Cliffside Drunkard/Washed up pilot

Appearance: A body once trained to peak performance let go with time and drunkenness, a pudgy belly, scratchy whiskers, and drooping eyes paint the story of a man who once had it all and lost it. Is rather unremarkable otherwise, a dull blue and yellow pigmentation common of Water Glatorian. Has an old and very weathered jacket with Fe military markings.

Personality: 'A drunken mess' would adequately sum up Tirkah, once a proud and upstanding member of Fe society, he has since become bitter and jaded, drinking his sorrows away and generally being unpleasant. Under it all lurks the man he could be again, and in rare moments it even shines through.

Bio: Tirkah was once a pretty pathetic Glatorian in his own right. With little physical capabilities to speak of, he was ill-suited to fighting in the arena or guarding caravans. So for him, it was quite fortunate that the world changed the way it did. In fact, it made his life significantly better once he found out what he was really good at: flying. He did so with great gusto and Gravitated to Fe for their wonderous flying machines. Once there, he made something of a name for himself as a star pilot, earning him his own aircraft and a spot in the prestigious ranks of the Fe military. And then his life was changed again, this time for the worse when Fe was razed to the ground. With nowhere to go and none who would trust such a man, he fell into obscurity and drink in Cliffside, and can often be found drunk in a bar, in the air, or passed out over the side of his old ship.

Aircraft:

Name: The Silver Star A Right Pain in the

Model: Rockoh

Weaponry: Twin Force blasters

Customization: Reinforced frame: allows the craft to take a remarkable amount of punishment and continue functioning, nearly twice what a Rockoh should be able to take.

Appearance: Once a shining chromium polish, the outer plating of the craft has tarnished and become covered in numerous dents, dings, rust, and even holes from various collisions with other things. The craft is remarkably mundane otherwise.

In the end, however, her world crumbled as it did for everyone else from the Mata Nui Robot, and she had to adapt to life on Bara Magna, and became a fairly accomplished engineer in Fe, infamous for taking on jobs few others would oil their hands with—and doing it better than those who would. She specialized in fixing and reverse-engineering things, but likes using her problem-solving brain to do some mild mercenary work on the side to pay the bills.

Aircraft:

Name: The Prodigal Goat

Model: Rockoh

Weaponry: 1) EMP mines: Meant as a defensive armament, these are deployed to the rear of the craft and explode in a burst of nonlethal electromagnetic energy meant to disrupt or even disable a pursuing vehicle for a short time;

2) Forward-facing crystal cannons: A complement of twin guns that fire bolts of supercharged crystals.

There's some interesting concepts in here. I look forward to seeing how it plays out. Laryna & the Prodigal Goat are Approved

This one's for Onaku and Dane.

Name: Eoron
Species: Tobduk’s Species
Gender: Male
Powers: Emotion absorption. Eoron is at his strongest when surrounded by those who respect his authority, a double-edged sword to be sure.
Kanohi Felnas, Mask of Disruption. Any targeted being will suddenly find one of their abilities activated without control. Defaults to elemental powers, then other innate abilities, then Kanohi abilities. Cannot be used on weapons or vehicles. For example, can cause Skakdi to be buried in their element (if a second Skakdi or channeling weapon is nearby) or an Arthron-wearing Vortixx to be overwhelmed with sensory data. His favorite form of punishment.
Gear: A claymore too large to be wielded by most other beings, but suits him well.
Personal Aircraft: The Gavel
Allegiance/Role: New Atero Lieutenant
Appearance: Eoron is tall and broad, with dark metal armor over purple organics.
Personality: A real stickler for the rules, as one might expect. One could say he craves order as much as he demands it for his own sake. Despite his displays though, any more into his personality is difficult to read.
Bio: Eoron gained standing among his people’s higher-ups by refusing to let morals cloud his justice as according to the law. However, it was his own instincts that saved him when the Visorak were unleashed, and again during the fall of the MU, and yet again with the fall of Fe. New Atero soldiers found him in the rubble and he surrendered himself to them, hungry for another chance to prove himself. Now, two years down the road, he is moving up the ranks as a pillar of the law in an uncertain time.

Aircraft:
Name: The Gavel
Model: Axalara
Weaponry: Twin laser blasts fired from the prongs on the back. Able to easily slice through most armor, but can only fire for a second at a time. The bomb bay carries Energy Siphon Mines which can rapidly deprive a vehicle of power, though it can only be dropped straight down. Larger vehicles may overload the mines, causing them to explode with little damage.
Customization: Armored doors have been added to the sides of the cockpit, better protecting Eoron in battle. The bottom is also fitted with a row of thrusters aiding in a faster takeoff.
Appearance: The Gavel is fairly standard as Axalara go, painted in gleaming marble white.

Newbie to the game here... but it looks cool; and, after rping on other sites for several years, I'm just starting to get into it over here on BZ too. Hope this character looks okay as a starting point ^^

Character:

Name: Tarutu
Species: Ga-Matoran
Gender: Female
Powers: Minor elemental affinity for water, but no powers to speak of.
Gear: Powerless blue Komau, shaped after the great form of the mask. An electro-blade of Mahri-Nui make. Small satchel of 'useful tools'; pliers, lock-pick... just small things that could prove handy in her trade, nothing crazy.
Personal Aircraft: The Lucky Find
Allegiance/Role: New Atero, purveyor of 'rare items'... which is another way of saying she's a smuggler and seller of hard-to-find (and often illegal) goods. All manner of unlikely items have passed through Tarutu's hands; some she sells, some she keeps for her own use, and some she holds onto for 'just the right buyer'. In any case, if you want something that's difficult - or illegal - to get hold of, she's your girl... for a modest fee, just about anything can find its way into her hands.
Appearance: A blue-armoured Matoran with darker blue accents.
Personality: Presenting quite a jaded view of the world, she is not exactly anyone's idea of good company. While this isn't necessarily the truth of who she is, Tarutu has very little love to spare for life on Bara Magna... most of her cynicism, in fact, is bred from homesickness for her beloved Ga-Koro. Still, she's a capable businesswoman, and she's not afraid of a fight if it comes down to it; and she has her fair share of customers who regard her as a valuable resource.
Too, she's not all cynicism and bitterness; in fact, she has a soft spot for those who are more naive about the world. A part of her, perhaps, wishes that were still her, and she doesn't want to crush their optimism - no matter how misplaced she believes it to be.
Bio: A Matoran of Metru Nui Tarutu, like the rest of her brothers and sisters, has no memory of anything before the Great Cataclysm. On the island of Mata Nui, she was a guard of the village of water, vigilantly maintaining watch against Makuta's Rahi; but, while she was good at her job, she never took any passion from it. Her great love was the ocean itself, and all of her off-duty time was spent diving deep, swimming, exploring... and, as often or not, accidentally running into wild Tarakava and getting clobbered. Somehow, this never seemed to deter her... though if she ever seemed to be acting oddly, her fellow Ga-Matoran would attribute it to these blows to her head. Tarutu served through the Makuta Wars and the Bohrok War; she returned to Metru Nui with her fellow Matoran; and, after the final clash between Makuta and Mata Nui, moved out to Bara Magna.
And never before had she felt so out of place. The ocean was her true love, the vast desert world before her could quite literally not have been more different... and she hated it. While the rest of the MU's inhabitants found their places, Tarutu drifted with no real destination in mind, from one village to another. It was only arriving at New Atero, seeing the nearby lake and ocean, that she finally decided to settle... it looked like the closest to 'home' she was ever going to find in this wasteland. For the first few months, she eked out a living as a scavenger, retrieving old junk from the ocean floor, patching it up as best she could and selling it on; it was only after finding a particularly rare item, that sold for a premium despite its worn condition, that she realised she may have found her calling.
Ever since she came into possession of her battered Rockoh, crashed and abandoned not far from the lake, she has taken to her little business. If a being wants something valuable, rare, or illegal, they only have to ask her; she has become very good at acquiring any such items. The politics of Bara Magna are of little concern to her... while she has a vested interest in New Atero remaining secure, Tarutu's concerns are more of a looking out for number one type of nature.

Aircraft:

Name: The Lucky Find
Model: Rockoh
Weaponry: Twin Kanoka launchers, with preference for disks of code 62- (Onu-Metru return to shooter if diverted, freeze power, any power level), of which she keeps a limited number stashed in the cargo compartment.
Customisation: 1) A Hau integrated into its systems; given how vulnerable its gappy armour makes the craft, this was one of the first major modifications Tarutu pursued once it came into her possession. Much like when the mask is worn, this provides a limited amount of protection against direct attack, but is no use at all in guarding against ambush; its purpose is mostly to repel bandits who might otherwise see her craft as easy pickings, as she has no intention of engaging in dogfights.
2) Additional thrusters to aid manoeuvrability, though these can only be used in short bursts and are prone to burning out.
Appearance: Battered; Tarutu came into the craft second-hand after it had been crashed and then abandoned and, while she arranged to get it patched up, aesthetics have not been a priority. As such, its bodywork is scarred, its armour missing in several places, and its paint job entirely non-existent. Too, it should be noted that piloting it isn't a perfectly comfortable arrangement for her, as the craft was designed for larger races; often, she has to stand up on the seat to be able to control it adequately. Still, it gets her from A to B with little difficulty.

Name: Kane-Oma

Species: Mutant Kane-Ra

Gender: Male

Powers: Due to his massive size Kane-Oma has extreme strength. He also has the ability to talk to animals.

Gear: Kane-Oma owns a Kanoka Blade of protection in the form of a giant battleaxe. Activating the blade protects him from all damage, however, because of his lack of willpower he can only have the blade active for a few seconds at a time.

Personal Aircraft: The Mukau

Allegiance/Role: No official allegiance, but extremely loyal to Clifside.

Appearence: A massive, muscular, red, black, and silver humanoid with a bull's head.

Personality: Kane-Oma is very direct. He doesn't beat around the bush and hates lairs. He values others based on their combat abilities. Although Sentient, he still isn't very smart. He values close friendships and is extremely loyal.

Bio: Kane-Oma was born from the twisted experiments of a makuta, meant to serve as a guard. Instead he struck out on his own, eventually joining a team of bounty hunters known as the Misfits, where he performed various jobs with his friends and dodging attempts by the shadowed one to take them out of business. During the first years after Arriving on Spherus Magna, he spent his time wandering the waists and eventually found a home at cliffside, where he quickly gained a reputation for his strength.

Aircraft

Name: The Mukau

Model: Rockoh

Weaponry: A Force Blaster is mounted on the inside of the ram, this device shoots explosive blasts of energy. The ram is also adorned with bull horns, but these aren't for decoration. At the push of a button these horns flex and clamp onto the ramed target. It takes a few seconds for these horns to engage, giving clever pilots a chance to get away.

Customization: Kane-Oma had to have the vehicle specially refitted and upgraded to fit his larger frame and still be able to fly like a regular Rockoh, these upgrades also compensate for the additional armor added onto it.

Appearence: The Mukau is an unpainted dull green and is decorated with bones and armor from various rahi.

Six Kingdoms Characters: Mazor, Jephro, The Janitor, Informant

Rakin is Approved

Personal Aircraft: The Silver Star The Right Pain in the ######

Aircraft:

Name: The Silver Star A Right Pain in the ######

Model: Rockoh

Weaponry: Twin Force blasters

Customization: Reinforced frame: allows the craft to take a remarkable amount of punishment and continue functioning, nearly twice what a Rockoh should be able to take.

Appearance: Once a shining chromium polish, the outer plating of the craft has tarnished and become covered in numerous dents, dings, rust, and even holes from various collisions with other things. The craft is remarkably mundane otherwise.

Tirkah & the Silver Star are Approved

Character:

Name: Tekmo

Species: Jungle Agori

Gender: Male

Powers: Engineering Aptitude

Gear: Electric Blaster, Toolbox of Tools

Personal Aircraft: Wings of Fire

Allegiance/Role: Tesara, Ranger

Appearance: While a standard Jungle Agori, it’s currently unknown whether or not Tekmo possesses a mouth, due to the fact he’s never actually seen without his mask. Note the lack of capital letters on ‘mask’.

Personality: Insecure? Perhaps. Lacking confidence? Oooh nooo. While not completely full of himself, Tekmo is still at least four fifths full of himself. Arrogant, melodramatic, loves the sound of his own voice, etc. However, Tekmo does genuinely want to use his job to help people, he just thinks that he knows what’s better for them than they do. Some have suggested he capitalize his engineering talent instead of flying around on a jetpack. These people, of course, have been ignored.

Bio: Tesaran born and raised, Tekmo’s life has been completely uneventful, much to his chagrin. He has resolved to change that. As a Ranger, it’s his job to go out and help people, both within and outside Tesara. And he does so enjoy his job.

Aircraft:

Name: Wings of Fire

Model: Jetpack

Weaponry: None (It's a jetpack, there's no room)

Customization: None (Again, jetpack)

Appearance: Shiny and immaculate, Tekmo keeps the Wings of Fire pristine at all times. Great Beings preserve you if you scratch the paint.

***

Character:

Name: Waveahk

Species: Steltian Elite (mutated)

Gender: Male

Powers: Water Breathing, Adept Swimming

Gear: Not really gear, but I saw that another character’s mutation went here, so oh well. While capable of breathing in water, (not really that useful in this setting) he also dehydrates at a ridiculous rate, thus forcing him to ingest copious amounts of h2o at regular intervals. Oh, and he’s armed with a Combat Staff and a Zamor Launcher.

Personal Aircraft: The Aquarium

Allegiance/Role: New Atero, Fisherman

Appearance: A blue Sidorak, but with fishy qualities, like fins and webbed digits.

Personality: Waveahk doesn’t like you. Even if he’s never met you before, or even has no idea you exist, he doesn’t like you. This is because other people anger him through existing, as though he’s the only one allowed to do that. One of the largest misanthropes this side of the Chasm, Waveahk’s primary concern is keeping himself buoyant in the sea of business, no matter the cost.

Bio: Hailing from the island of Stelt, Waveahk was, at some point, mutated against his will, and thus was exiled from his home. Rumours persist that he tried to enlist in the Dark Hunters, but that’s of dubious truthfulness. In this Brave New World, Waveahk, perhaps using his mutations as inspiration, makes a living by hunting the beasts that dwell within the tainted waters of Aqua Magna, selling them to New Atero in order to buy the ridiculous quantity of water he needs to survive from their freshwater lake.

Aircraft:

Name: The Aquarium

Model: Airship

Weaponry: Laser-guided harpoons. For fishing reasons.

Customization: The cargo hold is filled with tanks of water for storing fish (and bathtime). There’s also a freezer room to keep the meat clean, and also to hide dead bodies.

Appearance: Waveahk does his best to make his ship look clean and… what is a better word for ‘trustworthy’? Jury’s still out on whether or not he’s succeeded, regardless just looks like your standard airship, a few dents and scratches here and there.

Tekmo & the Wings of Fire, and Waveahk & The Aquarium are both Approved.

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Name: The Overseer.
Species: Takadox’s Species.
Gender: Female.
Powers: A limited hypnotic ability. Requires several moments of unbroken focus and eye contact to work. Obviously, Ce-elemental and other beings with mental shielding are able to resist this ability. Her Rhotuka serves to apply this power without need for the eye contact and focus, but the duration of its effects are limited as a result.
Gear: The Overseer possesses an impressive collection of staffs, some powerful, some purely sentimental, many unique. She has been seen wielding the Staff of Artakha on several occasions, but most often carries the Protodermis Staff that once belonged to The Shadowed One. In more recent times, she has been seen to wear a Kanohi Iden.
Personal Aircraft: The Faithless Wraith
Allegiance/Role: Once a high-ranking enforcer within Fe, now pursuing her own goals.
Appearance: A spindly, limber being clad in a carapace of icy blue armour, most of her form is hidden from view beneath a ragged black cloak. Her feet are bare, the sharp clicking of her clawed toes on the ground often announcing her approach. A deep, heavy cowl keeps her face largely hidden from view, only the luminescent red orbs of her eyes being clearly visible.
Personality: The Overseer is a quiet, cautious being, rarely betraying any emotion. Although opportunities to demonstrate her skills in combat are few and far between, she is rumoured to be an agile, skilled opponent. She is feared, even reviled, by most of Fe’s populace, and rightly so. She has a history of exacting creatively cruel punishments upon traitors and spies.
Bio: No one’s entirely sure where she came from, or what she did before pledging herself to Fe. She merely appeared one day during a riot in the mines, already bearing her staff and badge of office, single-handedly slaying the dozen or so rioters with almost gleeful ease. Since the fall of Fe, she has become a wanted war criminal among the settlements, and her appearances have been sporadic and mysterious. She and her equally enigmatic followers seem to be searching for someone, or something, but those she speaks with are well-paid to maintain their silence.

Name: The Faithless Wraith
Model: Airship.
Weaponry: None. The ship instead possesses and in-built Kualsi and Volitak, allowing it to quickly come and go as it pleases, and evade capture.
Appearance: The Wraith is absolutely ordinary, as airships go… on the outside. What lies within is known only to The Overseer herself.

Name: Taurek

Species: Steltian Bruiser (Krekka's species)

Gender: Male

Powers: Extreme strength, way more than that of a Toa, and is actually fairly smart (unusual for his species), which makes up for his lack of natural powers.

Gear: His main weapon is a zamor launcher that attaches to his left arm. This zamor launcher possesses a stolen laser targeting device which makes it easier to aim with. The launcher is easily fed, using a magazine so that Taurek can easily push in rounds. Taurek has light metal zamors to load the launcher with and alternatively a short amount of net rounds that fire a small net that can tangle and entrap enemies. He also has a shortsword, Wete, which was stolen from his original master. This shortsword is made of Protosteel, and is very sturdy for its size. He also possesses a small pack which contains extra ammunition.

Personal Aircraft: Deliverance

Allegiance/Role: Mercenary, minor attachment to Tesara

Appearance: Taurek is big, like all Bruisers. However, unlike (arguably) the most well known Bruiser, Krekka, he isn't mechanically enhanced. He is predominantly light grey, with white as his secondary color. His eyes are a deep blue, and his face bears a few scars. He is just a little taller than Krekka. The back of his left leg is scarred, from an accident early on in his life, preventing him from being able to fly. His pack is usually found slung around his torso, resting on his thigh. His blade is usually on his hip. Everything else about him is rather standard for his species, albeit his fists being a little less claw like than his compatriots.

Personality: Distrusting, has an extremely negative outlook to Matoran and Steltian Elites due to his past. He is actually fairly smart, which is unusual for his species. Has developed a small attachment to Tesara.

Bio: Taurek was a slave in the Cliffside for the longest of time, being used for physical labor such as building houses. His inability to fly naturally due to an early disability prevented him for escaping for a long time, and Taurek was forced to do hard work for a Fe-Matoran inventor for a very long time. Bruisers were descriminated against after the migration because of their history as physical labor workers, so Taurek was no exception. Eventually, Taurek rebelled against his master, stealing his sword, modified zamor launcher and his ship, and setting himself free.

He made a bit of a name for himself since then, being known to pursue targets with such stubbornness that he would always eventually find them, a surprising amount alive rather than dead.

Not much has changed since Fe's fall. Taurek has gained a bit more equipment and experience, but he is still the same old Bruiser he always was.

Name: Deliverance

Model: Rockoh

Weaponry: Scrap launcher. An improvised scattershot weapon created by Taurek and a mechanic friend of his. It fires metal scraps at enemy craft at high speeds in a scattershot pattern, likely not doing much deep damage but disorienting the flight pattern of the ship targeted and possibly knocking off particularly protuding weapons. This can be shot twice before being needing to be reloaded with scraps. His previously installed Kanoka launcher has been upgraded to shoot faster, loaded primarily with discs of weakening and a few select Weight Increase disks, both of varying levels and origins.

Customisation: Taurek has modified his stolen ship significantly, the armor for the Deliverance has been reinforced, allowing it to take more hits. The extra space for ammo he previously installed has been traded off for extra thrusters allowing for quicker takeoff and acceleration.

Appearance: Taurek's Rockoh is a copper color rather than green, and the armor has been reinforced, giving it a more militarized look. Other than that, it's fairly average.

Question K I N G, does the ramp extend directly out or does it fold out? (for example of the second one, a part of the ship's side could fold down.)

It extends directly out from the side of the ship.

Most aircraft would have a small amount of space to stow personal belongings, rations, ammunition, etc.

But only airships would have a proper cargo hold.

Character:

NAME: Bacchus

SPECIES: Rock Agori

GENDER: Male

POWERS: As an Agori, Bacchus possesses a natural aptitude for engineering and repair, as well as bodily hardiness and the ability to adapt well.

GEAR:

  • Thornax Launcher- A standard Thornax Launcher, accompanied by several overripe Thornax fruits.
  • Pipe- A simple smoking pipe.
  • Notebook and Pen- A leather-bound notebook and pen combo used for taking extensive notes.  The notebook is filled with barely-legible handwriting that only Bacchus seems to be able to decipher.

PERSONAL AIRCRAFT: The Horse with No Name

ALLEGIANCE/ROLE: Bacchus hails from New Atero and works as a freelance sleuth.

APPEARANCE: Bacchus appears rather a lot like a standard Rock Agori, with craggy black-and-gray armor, large hands and feet, and a black helmet with a backward-sweeping crest.  His helmet lacks the customary tusked faceplate, however, allowing his heavy brow, uneven teeth, and bristly beard to be exposed.  He does not do much to spice up his appearance beyond wearing five blue bandannas on his right arm, and a blue cloth pauldron over the same shoulder.

PERSONALITY: Befitting his occupation, Bacchus is a very observant Agori.  He is skilled in the arts of analysis, extrapolation, and connection; it is often said that he can read a room like a children's book.  However, he doesn't exactly know what to do with every piece of information he finds, so he has a tendency to treat everything like a "clue" in his ongoing case.  He likes to ramble on when he has an opportunity, and is fond of saying the word "Forsooth!"

BIO: Bacchus had a fairly standard upbringing in New Atero, but surprisingly, his current curiosity was not present in his childhood.  He always took things at face value and did not question the information he was fed by others.  So it was for a long time, until his father's untimely death; his mother tried to instill in him that it was an accident, but the multiple stab wounds begged to differ.  Bacchus ignored his mother's words and began a small, personal investigation of the circumstances, and came to play a part in the official capture of his father's murderer.  With the realization that he could turn his newfound observational ability into a career, he entered the freelance sleuth racket and continued to develop his Sherlock-like skills over time.  Currently, business is slow.

Aircraft:

NAME: The Horse with No Name

MODEL: Skyfighter

WEAPONRY: A Kanoka Disk Launcher mounted on the underside that launches Weakening disks, usually with a power level of 3-4.  It must be manually reloaded.

CUSTOMIZATION: The front opens up to reveal a small personal bulletin board and a writing space.

APPEARANCE: The Horse with No Name is an older model of skyfighter, painted mostly black with a blue stripe running down the center of the front section.  Its engines are not very powerful, only allowing it to get a few feet off the ground and go at a top speed of 30mph.  It tends to kick up a lot of dust.
