Hapori Tohu
In a dispute that goes back all the way to 2011, LEGO has won a copyright dispute against Best-Lock, a British company that also makes interlocking bricks and similarly-scaled figures.World Intellectual Property Review reports on the case, which was ruled on in the US District Court for the District of Connecticut earlier this week. This is an slightly surprising ruling, as unlike some copy-cats, Best-Lock doesn't plagiarize designs verbatim from LEGO and generally produces their own models and unique builds. It will be interesting to see if this starts extending to other toy brick manufacturers like Mega Brands in the future.
