Ray frowned, puzzled about the message, looked up from his PokeGear.

Who is this person, and what does he or she mean? Ray wondered, but then thought of other stuff in case Zach showed up, and chuckled.

"I forgot that there was something I needed to do; I'll be back in a little bit, guys." Ray said, and sent out Aizen, who teleported him away; to where the Graveyard was.

Might've been too flashy of an exit or entrance, but it was the best way to get away without anyone else following... Ray thought, as he wondered who this odd person could be...

IC - Tyler McKinley - Liberty Graveyard: Ray arrived to what at first glance appeared to be an empty graveyard. Aside from the rows of tombstones that occupied the gloomy field, nothing stirred--no Pokémon or people were present. All that moved was the swaying trees and grass that moved with the wind. After a moment or two, the Rocket Agent became away of a man sitting on a tree branch in a nearby tree, watching him calmly with bright, golden eyes. With a slight smile, the Ford Agent dropped to the ground, a Wobbufett and Xatu emerging from behind the tree.

"You got here quickly," he noted, nodding to his Xatu. The Flying-Type's eyes glowed; the next moment, a field of energy surrounded them, though it did not seem to have a hostile effect on Ray or Aizen. At the same time, the Wobbufett's Shadow Tag took effect on Aizen, preventing a premature departure. Placing his hands in his coat pockets, he walked over to a nearby tombstone, taking a seat on its cold surface. Careful observation would reveal this to be Shadow Admin Ace's grave, the Rocket Leader having died in Goldhawk's care and subsequently buried beneath Liberty soil.

"Relax," Ford's Apprentice said casually, noting the tension in Ray's posture. "I'm not here to cause trouble. Rather, I have a proposition for you, Mr. Hakuda, if you're interested in hearing it." He smiled, a friendly expression that did not look entirely right on his already somehow-uncanny face. "Are you interested?"

Ray frowned, as he sighed, mentally berating himself for walking straight into a trap.

"Well, I guess I've got no other choice right now, do I?" Ray asked with a shrug, partly because he wasn't entirely certain how to get out of this, and also because he didn't want to bite off more than he could chew in terms of a battle, as he wasn't certain of this guy's capabilities.

"That said, you took this much trouble to get me here, and make sure I wasn't followed, so that definitely intrigues me." Ray said, wondering what this guy even wanted with him.

IC: Evan Tierra, The Alamo

Evan and Jupiter entered the Alamo, Evan made sure to keep his Team Plasma Badge at the ready. The Plasma agent looked around for anyone who could point him in the direction of Team Liberty's laders. Suddenly, a Team Liberty agent walked up to Evan.

"Are you Agent Tierra?" the agent asked.

"I am.", Evan said.

"We received word from Team Plasma that you would be arriving with Galactic Admin Jupiter.", The agent said, "Please follow me. I shall take you to the conference room where they are."

"Lead and I shall follow.", Evan said, as he followed the agent to the conference room.......

IC - Ethan Worth/Gavin Braner - Goldenrod City: As Joker teleported away, Ethan--unlike James--was not relieved. Rather, her departure brought with it an even more poignant feeling of concern for the Shadow Admin's well-being, considering what had just happened to her. He could sympathize, after all, considering what had happened in Azalea Town the year before. The thought of what the Unown horde had done to his friends and family still sent shivers down his spine; as such, to see someone else suffering a similar loss...

Ethan sighed. He would not wish those feelings on anyone. And that, of course, was why he had started his pursuit of a permanent end to the war--to stop the spread of such pain.

Pushing this aside, he looked around the street. The others all appeared at a loss for what to do now that the only true figure of authority had left. That, too, he could understand. Regardless, someone needed to take action and direct them elsewhere--any minute now, surely, the repair crews would arrive, and they would need the place cleared if they were to start working. Not to mention, the incident with Leviathan and "Wrath" had opened up several threads that needed to be followed up on--for instance, tracking down Quincy Adams, now that she had made a reappearance.

Ethan clapped his hands together, calling attention to himself. "All right, everyone, let's get a move on!" he called. "There's a Pokémon Center a couple of streets over--" He pointed west. "--so let's heal up, sit down for a bit, and head our separate ways!"

He began to lead the way, after making sure that he had the various members of his team with him. Gavin, having already done the same, sprinted to catch up with him, finding Ethan in the midst of running over a plan of action in his head. The Rocket Agent considered the situation, and what to do after healing. There were few ways to track someone who had teleported, but with the minds at Abyss, Ethan was certain they could at least get an idea of where she had gone. He was also curious about why Mr. Rage had reappeared in Goldenrod; perhaps someone in the group would know...

This case keeps getting better and better, Ethan mused. Like a true crime novel. He smiled. How fun.

IC - Kyle Eston/Sonja Baron - Four Island: "... Hm." Kyle stared at where Ray had been standing a moment before, tilting his head in confusion. "Alright, well... That happened. He didn't even give us time to say 'bye.'"

Sonja nodded, and then playfully punched Kyle in the shoulder. "I'm sure it's nothing," she said. Then, to all three of her friends, "Well, no use standing around here, right? Let's go find something to do!"

IC - Jupiter/Executive Vert - The Alamo: The Liberty Agent led Evan and Jupiter through the ground floor of the facility, toward a row of elevators that would bring them to the correct section of the Alamo. They passed by numerous trainers as they walked, all of varying ages and appearances, all of whom looked at the trio with a mixture of confusion, surprise, and curiosity--likely, Jupiter suspected, either due to the Team Plasma Badge that Evan held, or because they recognized her. Either way, the Galactic Leader maintained an air of indifference about her, avoiding eye contact with anyone, focusing instead on the back of their escort's head.

They came to a stop in front of an elevator, where another woman dressed in a sage green coat also appeared to be waiting--for what purpose, Jupiter could only guess, though presumably, she, too, was heading upstairs to talk to Goldhawk and the others. Taking only a moment to notice the bespectacled woman exchange a brief nod with the guard, Jupiter set her gaze on the door, though not before catching the woman's notice.

"Galactic Admin Jupiter," she said, in a tone that, while suggesting surprise, made it all too obvious that she really did not care. "This is an unexpected visit!"

Jupiter looked at the woman, taking a closer look at her. She stood at roughly the same height as the Galactic Leader, though Jupiter was certain that only because of her thick-soled boots. Her coat bore more than a passing resemblance to a lab coat, and that coupled with the tag clipped to her pocket indicated that she was involved with Team Liberty's science department. Her hair was a slightly darker shade of green than her coat, wavy and pushed over her right shoulder, obscuring roughly a fourth of her face. Finally, her glasses framed a pair of dark green eyes, the sight of which unsettled Jupiter and all but screamed Danger!, immediately bringing to mind the image of that girl--Envy...

"I'm sorry," she said. "But, who are you?"

The Executive's smile flickered slightly. "Right, that's probably important," she answered, with an airy wave of her hand. "Meghan Vert, Executive of Science for Team Liberty. A pleasure to meet you." She held out a hand, which Jupiter cautiously shook. "I must be honest, I'm surprised to see you here, considering the recent... ah... tension between Teams Liberty and Galactic. What with the whole 'joining with the Hojohsin League' business..."

Jupiter frowned. "I can assure you that was an entirely justified decision," she said pointedly. "Between having our defenses overrun by three trainers--" She glanced at Evan. "--and subsequently suffering under the constant threat of destruction by both Team Liberty and Rocket, we didn't have much choice if we wanted to maintain the influx of what few resources we had, now did we?"

"Fair enough," Vert said, her thin smile becoming somehow more genuine as the discussion wore on. "Don't get me wrong--I actually am a little envious of your group's decision. If you ask me, Hojohsin has the right idea when it comes to dealing with Team Rocket--we need more forceful approaches around here." She sighed. "A shame Saturn didn't use those Creation Orbs to do the job when he had them, right?"

... -What-? "You gravely mistake Team Galactic's purpose these days, if that's what you think we gathered the Orbs for," Jupiter said, eyes narrowing with clear irritation.

Vert seemed to have lost interest in the topic, offering only a vague apology as she shifted her attention to Evan--much to Jupiter's thanks. "The Orbs are one thing, but the Sinnoh Dragons themselves are another thing entirely. You're Evan Tierra, right? 'Palkia's Chosen One'?"

IC - Tyler McKinley - Liberty Graveyard: The boy chuckled, genuinely amused. "There's always a choice, Mr. Hakuda," he replied. "The consequences are what you have to worry about." He shrugged, kicking his feet back and forth lightly against the tombstone on which he sat, like a bored child would. "But, yes, as I said, I have a proposal for you, so if you'll take a seat..." He waved his hand, gesturing to one of the many stone markers. The stranger followed Ray's movements with his eyes as the Rocket Agent moved to take a seat, staring out at him from underneath a black, skull-adorned hood that served to highlight his light-colored hair and face, almost ghostly in appearance.

Clasping his hands together, the boy leaned back, taking on a more business-like approach to the conversation. "First off, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Tyler McKinley. I'll save the show of mysticism by telling you upfront that I work for John Ford--who, if I am not mistaken, you do know." Ray's reaction confirmed what McKinley already knew to be fact. "That in mind, I have a job offer for you. Nothing major, really--more of an agreement than anything, and I believe I have incentive for you to accept." McKinley adjusted his bandanna.

"See, Ray, we're trying to gather together nine exceptional individuals, willingly bound together by a simple agreement to appear at a specific location on a selected not-too-distant date in order to instigate what could quite possibly become the most important event in the history of our world." The Ford Agent averted his gaze, chuckling to himself. Regaining his composure, he looked back at Ray, rubbing two of his fingers against his left temple. "I'm sorry--the vagueness of that description gets me every time, regardless of its necessity. Anyway, the point is that between infiltrating Pierce's facility, getting involved first-hand with what happened in Unova, and fighting directly against the Darkrai... Well, naturally you've proven yourself worth looking into. On top of the flattery, we're prepared to help keep your family out of trouble--a little bird tells me that Jenny, for one, certainly needs it, considering her knack for getting captured in recent years..."

Still staring at Ray, he lowered his hand, planting his palm on the tombstone and leaning back again. "How about it, Ray? "

"It's too bad you couldn't have offered this whole protection thing a few years ago." Ray said, as he looked to the side for a moment, but then frowned, as he considered the terms, and then sighed. "Could the protection be extended to anyone else other than just my immediate family?" Ray asked, more to gauge reactions than anything; though he inwardly wondered if there was more to all this than he initially expected.

IC - Tyler McKinley - Liberty Graveyard: McKinley chuckled again. "Mr. Hakuda, if we had recruited you years ago, then we would have had no reason to approach you to begin with," he said. Addressing Ray's question, the Ford Agent spent only a brief moment to consider it. "Certainly--in exchange for total silence on this topic. As you might imagine, it's important for us to keep this under wraps until we find our final two Children."

Ray considered what Tyler said for a moment, and then closed his eyes.

"Alright. You've got a deal." Ray stated, figuring that this might be the best way to handle this situation in general.

IC: James considered what he heard some Rocket agent say. He decided to stay a bit longer. If it wasn’t a brotherly thing, it was definitely a gentlemanly thing to wait a bit and make sure a lady was alright before departing. Of course that meant two more blocks of walking in silence with her. The original walked with his clone to the door of the Pokémon center (which he held open for her) and no further. Thanks to Lucia’s efforts neither of their teams were majorly hurt and personally James would rather go back to base and heal there.

He turned to the one member whom he needed to get back and asked “Are you hurt, should we stick around to-“

Let’s go, Guinevere interrupted, I can tell even without reading your mind that you’d rather not stay here any longer.

The Executive nodded, “Thank you” and waved one last good bye to Jamie before being covered in a brief light which dispelled to reveal his office.

IC: Having seen Claus’ team earlier, Richard decided to start with one of the two members of his team who held type advantages over all three of Claus’. He released the Diglett he called Ponos while Claus sent out the Roggenrola he called Baccio.

Richard picked up his violin and began to consider the battle. The bard assumed that the Rock-type would be slow to evade if Ponos attacked from underground.

Well time to experiment a bit, he thought beginning to play random notes. “Ponos, use dig.”

The Diglett disappeared in the earth moving strangely to throw his opponent’s timing. Richard took the Roggenrola not moving to mean he had nothing to do but wait and try to dodge the Diglett. Claus knew otherwise. When Ponos began to surface Baccio had enough Automatize built up to run to the opposite side of the field before the attack connected.

Richard hit a hugely sour note as he saw the sudden speed of the Rock type.

“Very well Plan B, get back down and use Earth Power,” Richard said before the Diglett disappeared again into his tunnels.

Seconds passed before huge blasts emerged from the ground trying to strike the Roggenrola. Baccio sped around the blasts of Earth Power heading for the hole that Ponos had made. As he made it there, a stray blast hit him leaving an impression into his rock body.

“Fire Rock-Blat through the hole!”

Baccio began chunking rocks down the hole, which sped up by gravity, all made their mark on the Diglett unable to interrupt his attack until it finished. As soon he was able the Diglett instinctively made a rise for the surface.

Hearing sudden movement Baccio began setting up a Stealth Rock to ambush Ponos when he reached the surface.

Richard was not going to let that happen. Determined to turn the tide, Richard called out “Ponos use Magnitude as you hit the surface!”

Richard’s lungs thankfully carried to the rising Ponos who let off a fairly weak (say Magnitude 3) magnitude as he reached the surface. The attack while not largely damaging in and of itself, caused debris to rise and protect himself from the stealth rock. And better yet, it caused Baccio to lose his balance. Richard did not let this opportunity go to waste, he told Ponos to begin charging. The Diglett did not have to ask what.

As the Roggenrola regained his balance and charged with Stone Edge at Ponos, he felt himself fall over on another tremor. But this tremor was far more powerful than the last. This tremor was from an Earthquake to which Claus responeded to with “No fair!” Baccio was caught in the attack unable to move. The Diglett saw this and charged through the shaking ground calling forth all the damage he had been dealt so far in that battle and unleashed a powerful Reversal upon his opponent launching him back towards Claus.

Baccio, now very weak, just seemed to stumble close to Ponos, much different than before. The Roggenrola walked slowly towards the Diglett who waited to see Baccio’s next move. A mistake, but neither Richard nor Ponos knew Baccio well enough to know that.

Claus wasn’t certain what the Rock-type was up to himself, ...wait he wouldn’t be-

KABOOM!

“Wow I did not see that coming,” Richard said flatly, completely stopping his playing to tend to the now fainted Ponos.

“Ahem… SCOUNDREL! You sacrifice one of your own to lay a wound!” Richard said returning to the theatrics, willfully ignoring that the explosion had shocked Claus as much as it did him.

Claus smiled slightly bringing out medicine to tend for both Baccio’s and Ponos’ wounds. The smile turned to mock scowl as the agent yelled “It was worth it to get at your ugly mug!”

The two trainers continued their play while they healed their first Pokémon before sending out their second.

IC – Van Harrison – Galactic HQ:

With Envy barely defeated, Van raised himself, his focus once more becoming Envy, as the dark shape that had been guarding him had seemingly vanished. “First of all, I want to know exactly what it is you were trying to do here,” the Fifth Child declared, taking care to keep a safe distance as he approached Envy. “Second... I want to know how you know of who I am.”

His bright blue eyes gazed at his defeated foe from behind his dark hair, his mind questioning exactly what was happening to her. Nidoking limped over towards his partner, barely being able to do much. Van noted that once he had this information, he would have to get to the nearest Pokemon Center, as the battle had taken quite a lot out of both of his Pokemon. Still, even though Envy was defeated, he still was not sure exactly what was happening to her, and whether or not he would be in danger.

IC: Ryan

Ryan frowned as first Evan, then Ray left. He was tempted to head out himself to see if the Liberty database had any information on where his Pokedex had come from, but he decided against it, not wanting to be the third person to suddenly leave the group. He nodded at Sonja. "Well, do you have any suggestions for what we could do?"

IC: [...]

"Why would Team Liberty attack Snowpoint?" Dack asked. "We're in the middle of a ceasefire. I feel like it's a little too obvious. Someone must be trying to frame Team Liberty for the attack."

"But why?" Madison asked with a frown, trying to reason things out for herself. "If people thought Team Liberty was breaking the ceasefire, then it would paint them in a bad light. If Team Rocket believed the rumors, they'd probably have an attack on Team Liberty, and then..." Madison's eyes grew wide with realization.

"Then the war would start again." Dack concluded grimly.

IC: "Excuse me for asking," Cassius broke in, taking his hand away from its position in contact with Baku to gesture as he spoke, "But why would anyone desire the conflict to restart? I am an Unovan and know little of the conflict, but from what I have seen of Sinnoh, the ravages of this war have been quite high..." He shuddered reflexively. "Surely there is no person capable of having a motive that would spur he or she to incite such a costly thing?"

IC - Kyle Eston/Sonja Baron - Four Island: Sonja seemed caught off guard by this. Sheepishly, she rubbed the back of her head. "Well, actually, no," she said, laughing slightly. "I was actually only planning on packing up and going with Ray to do... whatever it was that he was planning on doing."

"That's fine," Kyle said. "I needed to talk to someone about returning that Power Suit, anyway--that's why I came here." Kovian nodded, as if the validity of this statement had been called into question.

Sonja smiled. "Right--we didn't all come here together, did we?" She chuckled. "It's still weird, not traveling together anymore. Alright, well, cool. So I guess we'll just split up and meet back together once we're all done with our errands?"

IC - Executive Vert/Jupiter - The Alamo: Vert waved her hand dismissively. "Technicalities," she said. As she responded, her glasses caught the light overhead, momentarily obscuring her eyes. "That is a shame, though--such powers are undoubtedly of great use in any circumstance, I'm sure." The Executive ran her hand through her hair in thought; Jupiter did not like the expression that crept onto her face.

"You know," the Executive said after a moment. "I've been working on a project meant to tap into and harness the power of Legendary Pokémon recently--perhaps you saw my work when you fought the Darkrai? That's actually what I was going to speak to my dear leaders about--continuing funding for it. I don't see why we couldn't find a way to channel Palkia's abilities again through you. Or through a device--anything is possible." She dropped her attention down to the files she was holding, pretending to read them. "If you're interested in trying, of course."

The Galactic Leader couldn't help but glare at Vert. Something about the way she acted and spoke just reinforced the unease she had felt upon first meeting her. And now this talk of 'accessing the power of Legendary Pokémon'? In other circumstances, Jupiter may not have stepped in, but having dealt with one disaster already, she wasn't about to let another happen if she could prevent it.

"I'm sure if the Hero of Space lost his powers, there was a reason for it--one above human understanding and ability to control," the Galactic Leader said coolly, injecting what she hoped was enough of a warning tone to get her point across to Evan. "Tampering with a weaker Legendary is one thing, but actively trying to regain abilities directly tied to something as powerful as Palkia? Surely I don't need to tell either of you why that is a horrible idea."

Vert adjusted her glasses, smiling pleasantly. At that moment, the elevator arrived, and she glanced at the Galactic member's escort. "Please, Jupiter; you make it sound as if I'm trying to take over the world or create a new dimension or something," the Executive said. Her jab did not go unnoticed by the target. "It's common sense, really--our enemies grow stronger with every encounter, so why not do what we can to increase our chances of victory? Or simple survival, for that matter, considering creatures like the Ancients?"

"Maybe you haven't noticed, but most people don't have the power of Palkia at their disposal, and with the exception of the disaster in Unova last December, the majority of them have survived these kinds of situations just fine up to now," Jupiter pointed out, ignoring the Liberty Guard's attempts to get her to board the elevator. "Speaking of which, that's a perfect example of why this is a bad idea--Palkia was directly involved in that fight, if I'm not mistaken. What makes you think it won't go out of control again if you try to tap into its power?" Before Vert could answer, Jupiter directed the argument at Evan, expecting some degree of understanding from him if no one else. "Am I right or not? As Palkia's Hero, it's up to you to maintain some sort of responsibility regarding its powers, isn't it? So you can't possibly think what she's suggesting is actually reasonable, right?"

IC - Tyler McKinley - Liberty Graveyard: McKinley clapped his hands together. "Fantastic," he said. "If you would kindly step over here, in front of Xatu..." He waved the Psychic-Type over to his side. As Ray walked over, the Ford Agent rubbed his chin, clearly thinking about something. "Let's see here... If you're going to be the Seventh Child, then you'll need a keyword..." He snapped his fingers. "Ooh, how about Andrew Wilson? That rolls off the tongue nicely."

IC - Envy - Galactic HQ: Even as the darkness began tearing at her face, already disintegrating one of her eyes, Envy managed to smile, the resulting sight sending a chill down Van's spine. "Isn't it obvious, Van? Perfection arises only in the absence of sin... and so I sought someone with the strength to defeat their heart's envy." She blinked slowly, moving her gaze to her fading hands for a moment before looking back at the Fifth Child. "But your darkness... It's not like Mars'--closer to mine, in fact, and all too similar in origin--reading its secrets is hardly difficult. Indeed, one must wonder if it truly belongs to you at all..."

The wind picked up again. Envy closed her remaining eye, her body rapidly dissipating into specks of black. When she spoke her final words, they echoed around Van as little more than whispers from a ghost, tired and somber, yet accepting of what lay ahead. "Enjoy life while it lasts, Van--some of us have never gotten that luxury..."

The air stilled.

Envy was gone.

Ray nodded, that codename probably wouldn't have been his first choice, but it worked, so he would accept it.

IC: Evan Tierra, The Alamo

"I've been able to defeat the Ancients, with the help of others, without the power of Space.", Evan said to Vert, "I am pretty sure if there was something wrong with that, Palkia would have given me my powers back. Considering that it was also part of my toll for even being here now, I will not try to argue about it and that is final."

IC - Tyler McKinley - Liberty Graveyard: Xatu's eyes glowed again, a field of psychic energy encompassing Ray's mind. For a brief moment, the world went silent and black. Blinking, the Rocket Agent stepped back, uncertain of what had happened. Nothing seemed to have changed around him--McKinley still sat in place, and Xatu and Wobbufett remained motionless.

"Hm... Maybe Zachary Buren would have been better, for irony if nothing else..." the Ford Agent muttered, and then shook his head. "Nah--too confusing. Either way..." He looked at Ray. "Right. So that was a bit of insurance. Minor hypnosis, essentially. Until I retrieve you for the gathering, you won't be able to speak about what occurred here to anyone--who I am, our agreement, not even my physical description. Secrecy and all that." McKinley smiled, sliding off of the tombstone. "Anyway, I'll see you again later on--you can count on that. If you want to extend your protection to someone specific in the meantime, mark their name on that tree." He lazily indicated the oak that he had used as a perch. "Ciao, Seventh."

With a condescending wave, McKinley recalled his Wobbufett and teleported with his Xatu, leaving the psychic field to dissipate around Ray--and leaving the Rocket Agent alone in the graveyard, with naught but the wind and the chirping of birds for company.

IC - Executive Vert/Jupiter - The Alamo: Jupiter smiled at Evan's agreement, crossing her arms and giving Vert a pointed look. The Executive simply shrugged, her own expression remaining steady.

"Fair enough," she said. "I won't push a position if you won't consider it--though it was only an idea." Vert waited until Jupiter had entered the elevator with her guard before addressing Evan again. "However, perhaps you would like to see a demonstration of our completed power suits? We've recently finished construction of a Ground-Type set thanks to a power sample taken from Groudon..."

OOC: xD Funny thing is, that would actually have been perfect irony, since Zach has a Pokemon named Ray. xP

-==IC: Ray==-

Ray frowned, as he looked in the direction of the guy he had just been talking to; closing his eyes as he wondered what he had just done. Ray walked forward toward the tree, and then began to carve a couple names into it, before sighing, and sending out Aizen once more, who simply regarded him with a smug grin for some reason.

"Come on, let's go back." Ray said, as he wondered how to handle all this. Shrugging, Ray teleported further into the island, to a patch of grass. "Why am I here...?" Ray muttered to himself, but shook his head, as he looked around for a potential reason for that...

OOC: I'll get him back to the group at the end of next post, don't worry. =P

"You wouldn't understand," Dack shook his head. "You're from Unova; you've known nothing but peace your entire life. The rest of us have known nothing but war. Sure, not everyone has participated in it --" he gave a nod to Madison and Luke "-- but like you said, the effects of the war can be seen practically everywhere. The war has been going on for so long that most people just assume it will continue for many years to come. That's why the ceasefire took so many people by surprise. And I guess for some sick, twisted individuals, taking away the war was like taking candy from a baby."

Madison nodded, seeing Dack's point. "I guess if someone had accepted the war as something that would not change... if they embraced it and acknowledged it as an essential part of their life... then they would probably feel lost and incomplete with the ceasefire. Still, it's hard to believe that someone would be so twisted."

"Maybe you're thinking too much into this, Dack," Luke frowned. "What if someone just wanted to attack Snowpoint?"

"Either way, I think we should investigate this further," Dack said, pulling out his Pokegear.

"Who are you calling?" Madison asked.

"An old friend," Dack smiled.

"This is Palmer," a voice said through the Pokegear.

"Palmer, it's Dack. Have you heard the news?"

"You mean what happened to Team Galactic outside Eterna?" Palmer asked.

"No, in Snowpoint," Dack sighed. "A wild Heatran appeared out of nowhere and wreaked havoc." He briefly filled the Frontier Brain in on what had happened.

"Hmm," Palmer thought. "And you say you have the Heatran with you?"

"Right in my hand," Dack nodded as he held the Legendary Pokemon's Ultra Ball.

"Can you meet me in the Battle Zone?" Palmer asked. "I'm guessing the Heatran came from Stark Mountain."

"Sure thing," Dack said, looking out at the setting sun. "We'll head there first thing in the morning."

IC: Ryan

"That's fine with me," Ryan said with a shrug. He started to walk off toward the Alamo's entrance, but stopped and turned back around. "If we're all heading to the Alamo, I guess we could at least walk there together," he laughed.

IC: Evan Tierra, The Alamo

"Well, I guess I'll hazard a look at these suits then.", Evan said suspiciously, "Lead the way."

Something in the back of Evan's mind told him to get out of here as quickly as possible, but something else wanted to see what would happen.......

Ray looked around, but didn't see anything in the field.

Why was I brought here...? Ray thought, and then noticed a lone Mareep in the middle of the field. ... Was I seriously brought here for that? I have enough Pokemon I don't use on my team as it is... I don't think I need more. Ray thought, as he turned and walked away, Aizen sighing and teleporting the two of them back to the group, finally.

IC - Van Harrison - Galactic HQ:

Van stood silently, staring into the space where just moments ago, Envy had been standing. He was trying to comprehend exactly what he had just beared witness to. Shaking his head, Van regained his composure, returning Nidoking to his Poke Ball, as he produced his PokeGear, preparing to send a message to Pierce informing him that the situation was apparently taken care of. With a sigh, Van examined the ruins, a chill running down his spine as Envy's words essentially burned themselves into his mind. "Well..." Van whispered to himself. "I suppose I best get my Pokemon healed up..." Turning away, Van adjusted his scarf, heading out in the direction of the nearest Pokemon Center.

IC: Ryan

Before Ryan's eyes, Ray and his Kadabra materialized back in the group. "I didn't expect you to be back so quickly," Ryan said to the Rocket member. "What was that all about?"

IC - Ethan Worth/Gavin Braner - Goldenrod City: The nurse had done a quick job of healing those Pokémon that needed it, leaving their trainers to their own devices. Most seemed to have slipped into idle chitchat with one another, the majority of the conversations revolving around what had occurred--the appearance and defeat of Mr. Rage, Leviathan's rampage, Joker's departure and current state. Ethan and Gavin had slipped into one such conversation themselves, trying now to decide on the biggest question at hand:

What now?

To Ethan, the answer was obvious. "We need to talk to Joker."

"Right now?" Gavin asked. "She'll bite your legs off, after what just happened."

"Oh, I know she'll be angry," Ethan said. "But, come on--she's going to want to go after Adams more than anything, and we still need to get her back for what happened in that other dimen--... on that train. We might not get another chance like this."

Gavin could not deny this. "Alright, fine," he said. "So how should we get to Abyss, then? Teleportation? Or your car, which is I don't even know where anymore."

"We'll take the car," the other Rocket Agent said. "It's a car. Cars are cool. Plus it doesn't see nearly enough use." Decision made, Ethan began walking toward the exit, virtually inviting interaction towards himself with the movement considering he had brought everyone to the Pokémon Center to begin with...

IC - Kyle Eston/Sonja Baron - The Alamo: "Well, that's good," Sonja said, poking the Rocket Agent in the back of the head as she passed him. "We were just heading in to split up and then do stuff. You should join us!"

Kyle nodded at Kovian, following after the others as they walked toward the Alamo. "Come on--let's go find Vert."

IC - Jupiter - The Alamo: The rumbling of the elevator perfectly mirrored Jupiter's annoyance. Try as she might, she could not understand Executive Vert's motivations. Whether or not Evan realized it, she clearly had some sort of agenda beyond simply tapping into Palkia's power, one that likely involved taking that power for herself, if the Ancients and people like Cyrus were anything to go by. Considering her views regarding the Hojohsin League, the way Vert seemed to disapprove of Goldhawk and the others, and how she appeared dead set on getting rid of Team Rocket, regardless of the ceasefire... The thought genuinely frightened Jupiter.

She was planning something. That was the simplest way to put it. And if she got a hold of enough power to do what she was planning, then the consequences could be catastrophic. Certainly Evan had to see this?

No; that doesn't matter, she told herself. I'm not leaving this up to faith or chance. The second I get the opportunity, Blackskull and the others are hearing about what happened.

The Galactic Admin glanced at her escort. The officer leaned against the wall of the elevator, restlessly watching the numbers tick away above the door as they approached their destination. A more paranoid visitor might have taken his earlier eagerness to pull her into the elevator as a sign that he was in on Vert's game. Jupiter, however, wasn't so certain. From her point of view, he seemed to be in a rush more than anything--eager to find something out. Troubled, and much younger than she had assumed, now that she looked more closely at him--he couldn't have been more than nineteen or twenty.

She decided to bite.

"Something wrong?" she asked.

The Liberty Guard looked at her in surprise, jumping slightly at the sudden question. "Sorry?" Jupiter repeated her question. "Oh, no, not really. It's just that I heard the general details of what happened to Team Galactic, is all..." He looked away, nervously drumming his fingers against his arm. "My brother works--worked as a technician over there. I'm worried about him..."

Jupiter stared at him. "What's his name?"

The boy looked back at her, a hopeful glint in his eyes. "Alex Garrison?"

Jupiter felt a shiver run down her spine, though managed to conceal it. She knew that name, and had been on friendly terms with the man who bore it. He had been a veteran to the group of technicians in the main command center, in charge of maintaining the base-wise computer network. A friendly guy, by all accounts, known for his eccentric celebrations when it came to other techs' personal accomplishments--birthdays, weddings, births of children. He had also been one of the first to go after Mars, a fact Jupiter found impossible to tell the poor soul before her.

She looked at the doors as they opened, stepping out into the hall. "Never met him."

IC - Executive Vert - The Alamo: Vert smiled pleasantly. "Excellent. Come this way, please."

The Executive turned, walking back down the hall with Evan in tow. Vert adjusted the files she was holding, lifting up a communication device and sending a short message to some unknown individual--presumably to a worker at the lab, telling them to get ready for a demonstration, or possibly to one of the Liberty Leaders' attendants to inform them that she would be back later. Regardless of the specifics, Vert quickly pocketed the device again, adjusting her glasses with her free hand, occasionally glancing around at Evan, as if sizing him up.

"So, Mr. Tierra," she said after a few moments. "I've heard that you were allowed custody of Landorus. Convincing the Sages to do that must have been a considerable challenge."

OOC: Apologies for delay. A bit put off by the sudden drop in overall activity, tbh.

IC: "I don't suppose you'll mind if I come with...," Cassius trailed off, unsure of what to say. He didn't exactly know whether or not he yet wished to journey with this particular cast of characters. On the other hand, there wasn't much else for him to do. That in mind, he supposed he might as well go, even if he privately held doubts regarding all aspects of the prospect. That was the usual practice for him.

IC: Evan Tierra, The Alamo

"Well, it took some convincing from Landorus and I.", Evan said as he shook his head, "To elaborate, I was teleported to the shrine where Landorus is said to appear at. I battled him and won. Landorus was impressed by my strength and convictions and volunteered to join me, with the provision that I join Team Plasma provided by the Sages."

Evan did not like this woman. Something about her made him want to run away as far as he could. Something was wrong with her and he was going to find out what.....

OOC: I successfully beat back Sloth enough to post this. For what it's worth.

IC: Jamie looked around the Pokémon center. There was still a good number of trainers there despite the fact that a fair amount had begun to leave. One particularly stood out and she was somewhat surprised that she had not really noticed him (although she did hear him earlier). Fighting with an army trying to take down a giant angry Golurk tended to distract one from noticing who all the players were.

"Mr. Worth," she said to a passing Ethan, "I have not seen you in a long while. Have you been well?"

IC: The Executive's mood was foul and was in serious need of uplifting. Seeing a Rocket controlled colossus (which then rampaged by another party he didn't want to deal with), that horribly awkward meeting, and seeing Joker was not his idea of a way to spend an afternoon. Of course, James would never let it show on his face that he was anything less than composed. He kept a smile on his face, that only through a long association would one tell that it was fake. Or just happen to be a Psychic. Which is why he left his Pokémon in the Liberty Pokémon center. He'd prefer not to have the one being who could perfectly read his emotions and thoughts when he visited the one place which cheered him up every time he went there. Specifically because he did not want the Psychic knowing why the Research and Development department could cheer him up so much.

Nothing gives one better solace than that feeling of technological superiority over one's enemies.

Of course that was dream was not a reality yet, but simply watching progress be made was comforting. Especially since it appeared they had contend with something akin to giant Golurks running around causing unwanted problems!

James paused in front of the door to the R&D department taking a deep breath Not its fault, not its fault, just happened to affected by something that made it go out of control

The person who caused those problems was gone, and after a good trip to the R&D he'd be right as rain, the Executive thought.

IC: Richard scratched his chin as he saw the new matchup. He hadn't expected Claus to go with his Monferno second, so he sent out Nyx. Because of that he had been put in a rough spot with a type disadvantage. Which brought him to his current situation of Nyx using Quick Attack to run away from Flint who chased with Mach Punch.

"That's not what I wanted..." the bard mentioned as he saw the Eevee make lap four in her run from the Monferno who looked to be having too much fun just running around in circles.

"Alright, fun's over. Baton Pass Nyx" Richard said to the Eevee who glad at the opportunity lept right back into his Pokéball. Out from another one came Erebus who seemed quite pumped today.

"...Well that's annoying. 'Kay, Flint use Thunderpunch!"

"Counter with Toxic Spike," the bard said simply picking up his violin again.

Flint wondered how making the field spiky would do anything to slow him, much less counter him when suddenly it hit him. Or rather he ran right into the single long spike being used a weapon by Erebus.

Ah, that's how, Flint muttered as poison took hold.

The tables were quite turned by this point as Flint felt the wound damage his body, while he was unable to get close enough to his opponent to lay a blow lest he be hit again by the spike. He needed an opening and fast.

Luckily he was good at that. The Monferno muttered something to the Tentacool in a low tone. Nobody else there could understand what Flint said but seeing Erebus fly into a rage was all they needed to know about Flint's Taunting. The Tentacool launched a stream of Scalding water at the Monferno who dodged out of the way. He charged about a foot parallel to the stream towards Erebus. When the Tentacool realized what had happened he raised he cast Protect to save himself from the inevitable Thunderpunch.... only to learn that Flint knew Feint. The Monferno used the speed granted by his Feint to land behind Erebus' unguarded back and let Thunderpunch loose.

The punch was so clean, that Flint believed the Tentacool lying there 6 feet away may had just suffered a one-hit KO.

But then, the Tentacool began to glow. And out of that glow came not a Tentacool but a Tentacruel.

Five seconds later Flint took a scald to the face and was knocked out.

"...WOOOOOT!"

OOC: Erebus into Tentacruel.

OOC: Been busy this past week. And I had also been waiting for a Kyle/Sonja IC before my last post but then decided to stop waiting an just post something.

IC: Ryan

Ryan nodded at Ray's less-than-detailed explanation as they entered the Alamo. Then he poked Kyle on the shoulder. "I need to talk to one of the Liberty techs, but remind me to find Vert before I leave -- I still need to return my battle armor as well."

IC: Dack

"Not a problem," Dack told Cassius. "After that battle with Heatran, you've really proven that you're a good battler. And if we do end up finding the culprit behind the attack, I have a feeling we're going to need all the firepower we can get." The Rocket agent turned to Geoffrey. "You're welcome to join us, too, if you wish."

"Come on," Luke said. "We can crash at my place for the night, then sail to the Battle Frontier in the morning."

OOC: I should clarify--I was referring more to the characters who aren't waiting on me, like those in Goldenrod and Cianwood, for instance. Which is an admittedly small number of people, but still. :P

Blade: Weren't you in the middle of a plot with Zach and Ryan before Wrath came along? xp

Minun: One thousand points! Unfortunately the points don't matter. :D

Anyway, Tentacruel looks good~~ Though he's referred to as Tentacool still in the Species slot. xp

IC - Ethan Worth/Gavin Braner - Goldenrod City: "Eh?" Ethan looked around at the sound of his name, skidding to a stop mid-walk. His face lit up as he saw Jamie Arthur. "Aha--Jamie and Lucia! Certainly been a while, hasn't it?" He walked over to her. "I've been doing pretty well, thanks. Aside from the giant Golurk and Adams shooting Joker and the riots caused by that guy, at any rate." He shrugged, evidently not the least bit bothered by these transgressions. "Et toi? How've you been? Hopefully that fight didn't take too much out of you, eh?"

IC - Executive Vert - The Alamo: "Fascinating," Vert said, rubbing her chin. "Those seem like stifling conditions to abide by, though. You would think a Legendary Pokémon would be given more freedom to do as it bid, given Team Plasma's beliefs, but I suppose not. Same pitfalls as every other authority figure, I'm afraid..." She sighed, shaking her head.

They arrived back in the entrance hall, though did not stay for long--Vert continued on toward a hallway on the east wall, walking down it. Before long, they had arrived at the entrance to the R&D Department. The door slid open as Vert approached, allowing her and Evan to continue on to the lab. The place looked more chaotic than one might have expected--dozens of machines had been added in the past six months, and several cases were filled with differently labeled tags, each one seeming to be designated with a type and the name of a Legendary Pokémon. Evan would have been forgiven for believing that the power suits were the only project being worked on, given their abundant presence in the provided space.

Vert, of course, did not take more than a glance at her surroundings, nor at the curiously small number of people present--six or seven workers, at most, and a guard with a name tag identifying him as David Ross. Instead, she faltered at the sight of an unexpected visitor within that group. "Mr. Arthur!" she called, recognizing her fellow Executive. She quickly regained her composure. "This is a... pleasant surprise."

IC - Kyle Eston/Sonja Baron - The Alamo: As they entered Team Liberty's headquarters, Kyle was surprised to find how empty the place was, considering the usual crowds present in the entrance hall. By his count, there were fifteen people there currently, including (admittedly unfocused-on-their-job) guards and his own group. More people had left in his own absence than he had initially assumed. Likely, many of them had gone off to help with repairs, but doubtless there were others that had simply returned home for the sake of home.

He seriously (and somewhat bitterly) considered what that must have felt like...

Ryan prodded his shoulder, pulling him from his thoughts. "I need to talk to one of the Liberty techs, but remind me to find Vert before I leave -- I still need to return my battle armor as well."

Kyle nodded. "Will do," he said. The Liberty Agent gestured to a hallway to the group's right, beginning to walk toward it. "Research and Development is down this way, so that's where I'll be if anyone needs me."

"Alright," Sonja said, turning around and walking toward the living quarters toward the west of the base as Kyle left. "Welp, my room is that way, so I'll be back." She began to walk away, but then paused, turning around to address Jenny and Ray. "Oh! Sorry, guys--we shouldn't just leave you hanging around like that! Um..." She tapped her chin, thinking. "... Where could two non-Liberty agents hang around for a little while without being glared at... eeh." Sonja shook her head. "Well, maybe you could tag along with one of us? Actually, you might find some interesting stuff in the Science Department, come to think of it..."

IC - Jupiter/TL Leaders - The Alamo: Garrison knocked on the conference room door, stepping aside while he and Jupiter waited for one of the Liberty Leaders to answer. It did not take long, as the door swung open to reveal a tall, blonde-haired Executive who introduced himself as Josiah Lorn. Nodding to the guard, Lorn stepped aside, allowing Jupiter to enter and shutting the door behind her.

The Galactic Admin looked at, surveying the conference room. It was situated near the top of the Alamo, as evidenced by the view from the windows on one wall, granting the assembled persons a view of Four Island's beach; Jupiter noted a large storm gathering in the distance, one she suspected would eventually make its way to Team Liberty's turf. The walls of the room were a clean beige, set against a typical gray carpet. The majority of the floorspace was taken up by a long, oval table, around which six people sat, all identified by name cards at their designated spot. Markus Aleivy (Goldhawk,) Kane Umbra (Blackskull,) Selene Ashera (Silvermind,) Jayron Aaron, Elena Seaver, and Red (who had, amusingly, scribbled out his last name) were all in attendance, along with Lorn.

"Jupiter," Goldhawk said, standing up and shaking her hand. "Please, take a seat."

She did, choosing the seat nearest her, which seemed to belong to someone named Scott Stone. For her own amusement, Jupiter mentally berated the man for his lack of attendance, wondering whether it was because he had skipped, or if he was gone for some other reason. Reconstruction, perhaps? Maybe he was simply preoccupied with his own devices and had little room for concern for official Team Liberty business--she truly could not know. That in mind, she focused back on the topic at hand.

"I trust you know that I'm not here with good news?" she asked. Goldhawk nodded. "Then I would prefer to deliver it as quickly as possible--I've recounted what I've seen enough to last me a lifetime by now, and this won't even be the last time I do so." Jupiter clenched her fists on her lap.

"We'll try to keep this as brief as possible," Blackskull said, genuinely sounding sympathetic. "Team Plasma sent us a brief summary of what all you witnessed, so, really, confirmation on what we're actually up against is all that we need."

"Mm..." Jupiter looked at the Liberty Leader. "That's the thing... I really don't know." She closed her eyes. "We--Mars, Saturn, around twelve technicians, and I--were discussing the current status of the war in our central office when Mars... snapped. Just up and shot Saturn with her sidearm. And then this wind appeared in the room, along with a girl. Pale. Dark brown hair. Bright green eyes. She was surrounded by this light, the same shade of green." Jupiter paused. "She talked to Mars; said something about a gift. I don't know what that could have meant. Mars responded by shooting her, too, as if she had done something to her, but that... didn't work. It was like the bullets just passed through her."

Executive Aaron exchanged a look with Executive Seaver. Jupiter ignored them, pressing on. "The state of Team Galactic's headquarters should speak for itself--evidently Mars angered this girl. A symbol appeared on her forehead, which seemed to summon what I can only assume was some sort of Pokémon to her, and she proceeded to kill and destroy everyone and everything in sight. I only barely managed to escape using an Alakazam, and even then, I don't know for certain that the Alakazam survived."

The room went silent as this information sunk in. At length, Goldhawk spoke again. "So, this girl... She could survive numerous bullet wounds and appeared capable of summoning a Pokémon to herself. And you have no idea who she was?"

"She referred to herself as Envy," Jupiter answered. "Though she also mentioned the name Vidinia LeJauso. I don't suppose that means anything to any of you?" No one could claim so. Jupiter cast her gaze toward the window. "I didn't think so."

"Do you know of any other survivors?" Silvermind asked.

"I have yet to hear from anyone."

"But could there be others?"

Jupiter's mouth twitched in annoyance. "I suppose there could be," she said. "As I have not heard from anyone else, however, I unfortunately have to conclude that there were no other survivors." As I just said. She had to resist rolling her eyes.

Silvermind bit her tongue. "Sorry--just making sure we have another way of gathering information, in case you might be hiding something."

Goldhawk shot her a look, about to say something, but Jupiter cut him off, taking charge herself. "With all due respect, Miss Ashera, I watched a significant portion of my closest friends die within a matter of minutes not even twenty-four hours ago," she said icily. "So, I would appreciate it if you did not insult my intentions for coming here--if I had any desire to let this Envy girl live for what she's done, I would not have stepped foot on this island." The Liberty Leader backed off. Jupiter looked squarely at Goldhawk, listing off details now as the adrenaline jogged her memory. "As I said, she was pale, had green eyes, dark brown hair, and was surrounded by a green aura. She was wearing a white and black dress when I saw her, and was maybe around five foot, seven inches tall? Her last known location was north of Eterna City, where our headquarters were located. On top of the shadow abilities and the mark on her face, she should be pretty easy to find. Any other questions?"

OOC: Well, the battle was interrupted, and the whole stuff that happened afterward pretty much showed that Ryan was on Zach's side for once. =P But yeah, I was in the middle of something big; I've just hit a wall in terms of how to go about the next part of it. I just need to think for a bit. xP But yeah, once I get that all sorted out, things will get interesting. =P

"Well, you could always give us a tour of what we probably would be allowed to see." Ray said, since she had said 'one of us', and not 'one of the others'.

"I'm thinking that science place would be more interesting, myself..." Jenny muttered, sighing at Ray's not quite so subtle hint at wanting to stick with Sonja. Ray chuckled, shrugging, as he scratched his head.

"I do have to wonder, though, what the rooms are like, here. Wasn't exactly given a place to stay here and all." Ray said, being even less subtle about who he wanted to tag along with, if that was even possible.

OOC: oic. I patiently await this plot's renewal, then. :P

IC - Sonja Baron - The Alamo: Ray's hint did not go unnoticed, prompting an awkward chuckle and a slight blush from Sonja, accompanied by a similar scratching of her own head. "If you say so," she said, looking away. "Well, feel free to come with me, then. Jenny, if you hurry you could probably catch up to Kyle."

OOC: Alright; shouldn't take too much longer, just need to get my thoughts in order and figure out the best way for this to continue. =P

-==IC: Ray/Jenny==-

"Right." Jenny said with a nod, as she ran off in the direction that Kyle had headed off in, and Ray smiled toward Sonja with a sheepish look on his face.

"Sorry about putting you on the spot there; but I figured now was the best time to ask about tagging along with you, instead of after you walked away or so." Ray said with a chuckle of his own.

IC: Ryan

Ray's hint did not go unnoticed by Ryan, either. The Liberty agent gave a slight cough, as if to remind the two that he was still there. "Well, I'll be over in the tech wing if you need me," he said. With that, he turned down the nearest hallway, leaving Ray and Sonja on their own.

-==IC: Ray==-

Ray blinked, his face going red as he realized Ryan really was still standing there.

"R-right." Ray said, Ray said, with a sheepish grin, trying to cover up the fact that he hadn't realized that. It wasn't really working, however, from the general reactions in his head.

OOC: On a side note--just so you all know, I move into my college dorm on Thursday, and then I have Freshman Orientation virtually all day, every day from the 22nd to the 25th, followed by my first classes on the 26th. So my activity is going to be a bit spotty from Thursday to Sunday. :)

IC - Sonja Baron - The Alamo: Sonja buried her face in her hands as Ryan left, slowly moving them to pull her hood over her head and turning away. "Oookaaay," she said, her voice muffled. "Thaaat was..." The Liberty Agent shook her head. "Alrightlet'sjustgoyeah?yeeeah ahahaaa..."

To say that she truly did not know what to say was an understatement. Instead, Sonja walked, headed quickly in the direction of the living quarters.

IC - Kyle Eston - The Alamo: The Electric Power Suit gleamed brightly in the ceiling lights as Kyle examined the components, paying little attention to the space in front of him as he walked. Kovian, instead, moved ahead, ready to stop his trainer if he was about to run into anything--which, admittedly, was all too possible, considering how focused Kyle was on the device in his hands. He had not really taken the time to look at the gauntlets and glasses since the Darkrai battle, but now that he did, he found it difficult to not notice the imperfections in the design--the power core that had died almost immediately after the battle had ended; the numerous cracks that had surfaced in the metal during it; even the ear pieces on the glasses, already loose despite having only been worn once.

The Liberty Agent frowned. "I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that they were just in a rush," he said, packing the devices away. It was not long before he heard footsteps behind him, and turned to see Jenny hurrying to catch up with him. Kyle, surprised, regained his composure and waved. "Hey. What's up?"

IC - Two Island: A storm gathered. Black clouds twisted and merged above Two Island, rolling together as sharp thunder cracks shook the very air of the land. The ocean frothed and cascaded against stone and water, the dark depths reflecting again and again the sudden flashes of lightning that erupted from above. Rain drizzled, then poured over the fields and hills, tapping rhythmically against the dozens of houses that dotted the landscape, obscuring the world outside of these isolated pockets of resistance against nature.

Sunday's evenings, eaten by the flames...

First time demonstration; second played for keeps...

The setting: Cape Brink. The house situated upon the mountainside, overlooking the rumbling waterfall and dangerously churning sea. The old man who lived inside stepped out, as an actor onto the stage to practice, nervously surveying the theater before him. No soul stood in sight; no one spoke. The grass, dripping from the pouring heavens, buckled under the weight of the water, providing cover for naught but the smallest of creatures. The downpour encompassed him, urging him back inside in spite of his curiosity, in spite of his desire--his need--to find the bearer of the voice that spoke around him.

Try as he might, no soul was in sight. He was alone. Did he imagine the voice?

Monday's yearnings, scattered in the wind...

Everything for naught, and so forgotten, weeps...

No; there it was again. A deep, rumbling sound that sat just at the back of his mind, present yet not; as if the earth itself was speaking in riddles, narrating events before it with no true meaning behind the words. And yet, its words were familiar. Like a visitor from the distant past, they resonated with him, and he knew that he had heard them somewhere before; perhaps a nursery rhyme that he had heard a million times from his mother in his youth...

Troubled, drenched, and cold, the old man shook his head, pushing the thought from his mind. What importance they bore, he reasoned, would be revealed in time, and so he stepped back into his home, closing the door and shutting out nature's fury. Soon the lights of his house went out, signaling his descent into sleep, oblivious now to the outside world.

Had he stayed but a few moments longer, he would have seen a strange sight. Lightning flashed above, a color unlike any that had yet been seen--an electric rainbow, every color at once and yet not quite any at all. It came into view once, twice, and then a third time, blinking into view for only a second. With the fourth, the light slammed into the ground, a million fingers scratching against rock and grass, bringing with it an explosion of mist that completely blacked out the epicenter of the point of impact. The veil quickly dissipated in the wind and rain.

Behind it, in the very center of Cape Brink, a statue had appeared. It stood roughly six feet tall, and bore a vague resemblance to a humanoid cat. A large tail curled around its body, small arms crossed its armor-like chest, and small, blunt horns jutted from the top of its down-turned head. A tube-like projection extended from its spine, connecting to the back of its head, and its eyes appeared to be closed, the water running down its otherwise stoic face resembling tears.

The rain continued to fall...

OOC: Okay, yeah, that was certainly interesting. I originally had assumed it had just been Jenny, Ray, and Sonja, but that was hilariously awesome because Ryan was still there. Nice job with that. =P

-==IC: Ray==-

"Y-yeah; good idea, yeah." Ray said, as he quickly followed after Sonja, though he did kinda smile at her reaction, since it was nice in his opinion. He kept that opinion to himself, though, since he figured it wouldn't help things at all.

-==IC: Jenny==-

"Not much. I was told that it was a good idea to stick with one of the others while here, since I'm not part of Liberty and all; and, well, I figured sticking with Ray right now wouldn't be exactly welcome." Jenny said, mouth twisted into a mischievous smile of sorts; though she didn't want to just say what had just taken place, since that would just be unfair to the others; especially as she noted as she was walking away that Ryan had heard the conversation that had taken place.

OOC: Hmm; that Two Island thing is intriguing, that's for sure.

-==IC: Zach==-

"So, what did you even come here for?" Zach asked to Ryan, as the battle ended, and everyone began to walk away.

"Not gonna just read my mind and find out? Well, I was going to help find Jenny, since she's been captured too." Ryan said; not having gotten word yet that Jenny was in fact safe.

"What...? That doesn't seem right..." Zach said with a frown, as that didn't fit what he had been noting so far; all the people seemed to have had contact with him in the past, though the only real time that he'd had real contact, was during the Unova incident... But, there was one person who that did apply to. "Could this person be targeting you too...?" Zach muttered, as he sighed. Ryan thought for a moment, trying to connect everything, and saw a Kadabra out of the corner of his eye, and slightly turned his head, seeing a person disappear into a nearby alleyway that hadn't gotten damaged as much.

"Over there. Something's telling me we should check that out." Ryan indicated to Zach, as the younger brother looked startled, but nodded and followed quickly.

OOC: I saw the opportunity to make things awkward, and jumped on it. Sometimes it's a good thing to be forgotten. :P Also, good luck at college, Parugi! :)

IC: Ryan

Ryan stared at the floor as he quickly walked down the hallway. It's like I was invisible to them, he thought. He shook his head, trying to clear his thoughts. Ever since their adventures in Unova last December, he had known that Ray and Sonja were close friends. This sudden turn of events shouldn't have surprised him. Yet somehow it did. It doesn't matter, he reasoned to himself. It shouldn't matter. So why does this bother me so much? Ryan recalled a similar situation that had happened between two of his friends in Fortree, years before he had joined Team Liberty. He had become a third wheel, and had slowly drifted apart from both his friends.

The Liberty Agent stopped walking and looked around. He had been focused on getting as far away from Ray and Sonja as possible, and so he hadn't really paid attention to where he was going. He now realized that he was nowhere near the tech department. Studying a small map that had been posted on the wall, Ryan retraced his steps and found a path to the techs that didn't go by Sonja's room. He headed up a flight of stairs, still trying to clear his head.

OOC: Oops. This could be intriguing. =P This very well could be a good opportunity to have character development for sure. =D

-==IC: Zach==-

Zach and Ryan frowned, as they entered the alleyway, and looked around; but no-one was there.

"... Are you imagining things again? Your ambition to do whatever it takes to somehow make up for what you did six months ago affecting your vision now?" Zach asked skeptically, as Ryan shook his head, focusing, as he scanned the alleyway carefully this time. However, as he did so, he paused, focusing on one particular spot.

"Huh...?" Ryan frowned, as he walked forward, and knelt to the ground, examining it. "This shouldn't be right." Ryan muttered, as he examined the soil that was only in that particular spot. It was almost familiar, as if it wasn't the first time he had seen it. Ryan's eyes widened slightly, but he frowned.

Could it be for growing berries? Would make sense for it to be here, but, I thought that they moved... Ryan thought, and then his eyes widened with realization. That's why... Ryan thought, as he turned his head to where Zach was standing with a confused look on his face.

"What's up?" Zach asked, and Ryan frowned.

"Tell me more about the people you're looking for."

"... I see..." Ryan said with a sigh, as Zach finished his explanation.

"That's what I thought. This isn't just any soil; this is the kind that can grow the berries you find in Hoenn and Sinnoh. In Johto and Kanto, that's pretty much a rarity, obviously, since we only have our own berry types and Apricorns available except for rare cases; which is why we usually need Berry Pots to grow berries here. However, the place that used to have those moved to elsewhere in the region..." Ryan explained, and Zach's eyes widened as well, as he realized what Ryan was trying to say.

"So then... She was here?" Zach asked, and Ryan frowned."It's possible; or it's a taunt." Ryan said, as he noticed a glint of something shiny behind a dumpster, and picked it up. "'Go to Jubilife City. There you will find more information. Oh, and Zach? You might want to pick up your pace. Fighting amongst your friends definitely isn't helping. -- AH' I wonder what this guy even wants..." Ryan read, as Zach grit his teeth at the challenge.

"I don't know... but I'm going to head there. If this guy wants me, then I'll fight. But not alone." Zach said, as he sent off a message to Aspen about what was happening. Ryan frowned once again, however, as he wondered who the 'AH' could be referring to...
