Pokémon: Rise Of The Rockets

OOC: Question, are we each controlling the Darkrai for this fight, or is Detranix controlling all of them?

 

IC: Dack

Dack and Swellow quickly dropped to a lower altitude, heeding Shadows' warning. He watched as the Darkrai unleashed his attack, felling all the Pokemon within the blast radius of the shockwave. It was then that Ho-Oh's voice echoed throughout the shadowed land. Dack shielded his eyes as the top of the Void Tower exploded in a burst of flames that burned brighter than the sun.

 

After Ho-Oh's attack, everything around the tower remained lit in a residual glow -- and in that glow Dack could see the tower starting to repair itself. By the time the glow had faded, the tower was completely healed, save for a small scar. With the city once again in darkness, the Pokemon guarding the tower launched their attack in full force.

 

Thanks to Shadows' shockwave, Palmer estimated they had about twenty seconds before the Ancients' forces closed in on them again. "Quickly, fly toward the Tower while we have the chance!" the Frontier Brain cried as he sent out his Cresselia and jumped on her back. The four trainers sped through the skies unhindered at first, but it wasn't long before the other Pokemon closed in on them. The battle had begun.

 

Swellow fought furiously against a Skarmory, Honchkrow, and a swarm of about two dozen Zubats. In desperation, Dack threw Shieldon's Pokeball into the air, and the armored Pokemon landed atop Swellow's head. "Use Ancient Power!" Dack shouted. Shieldon nodded, aiming her attack at the Zubats. She wasn't able to celebrate her victory for long, though, as five Crobats flew in to replace their fallen brethren. "I never really liked bats," Dack muttered.

 

Palmer, on the other hand, was having a much worse time. Darkrai and Cresselia are natural enemies, and as such the Ancients' forces attacked Palmer and Cresselia with a greater ferocity. The Lunar Pokemon's Psychic attacks easily felled the Poison-Type bat Pokemon, but Cresselia found herself rather hopeless against Dark-Types such as Honchkrow. "Dragonite, help Cresselia out!" the Frontier Brain called, sending out his other Pokemon. With a bellow, the orange dragon swiped at a nearby Honchkrow with Dragon Claw, knocking the bird away.

 

OOC: I should probably make profiles for Palmer's Pokemon. Yeah, I'll do that.

IC: Shadows and Zac"Thunder!" Shadows yelled as he struck down the other forces that came their way. Luckiy, most of these Pokemon were flying types,"Bite come on out!" Zac yelled. Totodile came out off his pokeball, "Giys cover yor ears, same for your pokemon! Bite, use Screech!"The Totodile happily nodded and laughed hysterically, and began to do what it thought was singing. Screeching.

IC Kaito

Kaito threw a Poke Ball. The ball shook, and Scyther was caught. "Now," Kaito said, picking up the ball, "We should get going. We're almost at Route 210." Kaito started running. "Come on!"

-==IC: Zach==-Zach frowned at what had happened, not sure who the person could have been, though.I'll have to look into this for sure... Zach thought, even as Aspen asked his question."Oh. Well, I had a little help with speed. A... friend got me here as fast as possible." Zach explained, as the alt-dimension Raikou nodded inside the Pokeball.

IC: Aspen Seaton

 

"Hm, your friend must be pretty fast then." he said with a nod. "If only I could think that fast, maybe then I could make sense of what just happened. I think they went that way..... But I'm not sure what to do... You got any ideas?"

 

OOC: I'm going to restate my music suggestions for the Darkrai battle; those were the first and second phase songs of the Sonic Colors final boss, and the first and second phase songs of the Kirby's Return to Dreamland final boss music. What do you guys think?

OOC: Well, the theme for Ray/Jenny's part is locked down, simply because Big Arms fights that fight best. =P But Reach For The Stars Orchestrated may fit for other parts; it's the others' choice, though. =P-==IC: Zach==-"Hmm..." Zach frowned, as he contemplated what to do."Let's regroup for now. Maybe explain what happened... We need some more info; blindly rushing into the situation won't help at all... Trust me on that." Zach said, looking away toward the ground for a moment; the bitter taste of his failure in Unova was still a fresh memory for him, after all.

"I don't know what else to say, I already told you we came here to deliver flowers, and that Dahlia was kidnapped when we were going back. Maybe we could head back home? I'd at least want Mom to know what happened."

I had also meant explain to others, like your mom; but we also need a plan, and an idea of what to do now. After all, this is not a good thing at all..." Zach said with a frown; not even noticing the floating camera that flew away shortly after Zach said that.

IC: Evan Tierra, Sinjoh Ruins

 

"C'mon out, Hippowdon and Lazengann!", Evan said, as he sent out two of his pokemon, "Ready for payback, you hag? Lazengann, Swords Dance! Hippowdon, Rock Slide!"

 

Lazengann danced, making slicing noises with his claws as he did so. While he did that, Hippowdon roared and stomped her feet, causing some rocks to fall upon her foe.

 

One dodged the Rock Slide and made a Taunting gesture towards Lazengann and Hippowdon, enraging the two pokemon. She then fired a purple orb of light at Hippowdon, poisoning her.....

 

 

IC: Klim Prizak

 

Klim sent out Shiva and Jaydes. The two ghost types stared Five down, their eyes aflame with the willingness to fight him.

 

"So you think two ghost types will help you beat me?", Five said, "Such arrogance. I look forward to snuffing you out!"

 

With that declaration, the Darkrai fired a Spacial Rend at Shiva, thinking her to be a weak link.

 

"We'll see about that!", Klim said, "Shiva, dodge that Spacial Rend and use Fake Tears! Jaydes, Lucky Chant!"

 

Shiva gracefully dodged the Spacial Rend, and started to rub her hands over her eyes, decreasing Five's Special Defense. Meanwhile, Jaydes started chanting, encouraging everyone to do their best......

OOC: That's what I figured, but I wanted to make sure.

 

And for Ryan and Ellen's battle, "The Ultimate Show" from Super Paper Mario. I tried to find something that best reflected Seven's insanity while also serving as a good battle theme. There's probably a better choice out there somewhere, so I'm open to suggestions.

 

IC: Ryan/Ellen

Ellen ducked as the Darkrai's Shadow Ball exploded against Entei's protective shield.

 

"Well, well... what do we have here?" Seven giggled. "Thought you could sneak past me, little girl?" The insane Darkrai casually tossed another Shadow Ball at Entei's feet, causing the Legendary Beast to jump out of the way. "Dance, puppy, dance!" Seven cackled as he kept throwing Shadow Balls wherever Entei landed.

 

Stop toying with me! Entei roared, leaping toward the Darkrai to attack with Fire Fang.

 

"Ooh... the puppy bites back!" Seven giggled as he sidestepped Entei's attack.

 

I can do much worse than bite, the Legendary Beast growled. He turned back around and shot a Flamethrower at the Darkrai.

 

"Now's our chance!" Ellen said. "While he's distracted with Entei -- let's hurry to that portal!"

 

Out of the corner of his eye, Seven noticed Ellen and her Pokemon trying to sneak away. "Not so fast!" he cried, shooting an Ice Beam at Ellen's feet, gluing her to the floor. "I haven't had my fun yet!"

 

"Artemis!" Ellen cried. The Mienfoo ran toward the Darkrai to beat it back with Force Palm.

 

"Now that's more like it!" Seven laughed as he blocked the attack with Protect. "Battles are always so much more entertaining when the opponent fights back. I could probably obliterate you and your pathetic excuse for a team in a second, but where's the fun in that?"

 

Ellen glared at the Darkrai. "Is that all you care about? Having fun? And how dare you call my Pokemon pathetic!"

 

Upon hearing Seven's insult, Ellen's Pokemon all attacked in a rage. Solo rammed into the Darkrai with Rollout, Artemis did Force Palm again, Terry used Take Down, Maturin used Razor Leaf, and Chrono used Slash.

 

Seven waited until the attacks were just about to hit him before he unleashed a Spatial Rend. The fluctuation in space caused the attacks to miss, and the force of the attack knocked all of Ellen's Pokemon back. "Pathetic by some standards," he shrugged. "To be honest, I was hoping for a bit more of a challenge. But One and the others already called all the good ones, leaving the rest of us with -- gaugh!"

 

Ellen's eyes widened as she saw a Togekiss descend from above in a graceful Sky Attack, with Ryan riding on its back. The two struck the Darkrai in the back, causing him to cry out in surprise.

 

"I really don't think you want to finish that sentence," Ryan told the Darkrai as he hopped off Togie's back. "Quil, get Ellen out of that ice. Togie, Aura Sphere."

 

 

OOC: I don't have time for a Dack IC right now, but I wanted to post the profiles for Palmer's Pokemon (with their abilities in parentheses).

-==IC: Ray/Jenny==-As the others fought, Ray and Jenny attempted to make their way forward; dodging around attacks barely, however, they attracted bad attention as they did so. One of the Darkrai in particular noticed them; and scowled."Now then, human scum, you shall be shown the futility of your resistance..." The second Darkrai said, as he moved toward Ray and Jenny quickly. Ray noticed the approaching Darkrai, and turned to attack it."Right; this is it. Zangetsu, Slash!" Ray called out; as Jenny noticed as well, and nodded to Gyaralite."Hydro Pump, now!" Jenny commanded, as the Gyarados unleashed the powerful water attack; which the Darkrai just spun around, as it prepared a Dark Pulse."You lot are pathetic; and weak at that. Just die!" The Darkrai yelled out, as it unleashed the Dark Pulse on the two Pokemon and their Trainers. Zangetsu and Gyaralite were thrown back slightly from the force of the blow; and Jenny and Ray were thrown across the room; barely able to stop their momentum before they got thrown out of the building."Don't give up; just keep trying!" Ray called out, as Zangetsu picked himself up, and dashed toward Two; slashing into him as powerfully as he could. Unfortunately, it didn't do much at all."You think that would stop me? That will be your downfall." The Darkrai taunted, as Ray growled, unsure how to truly handle a foe this powerful.

OOC: Minun: I don't think it's going to be possible to bring Jamie into the Sinjoh fight at this point without a serious amount of metagaming, but she could theoretically be informed of the battle at Lilycove by James or someone and presumably teleported there.

 

IC - Jackson Sang - Chapel: The sound of approaching voices threw Jackson off. It was not because he didn't think he could handle them, no--it was because of how many there were. That indicated to him that whoever was coming was doing so with a purpose. In other words, the perfect opportunity to figure out what was going on here. With a gesture to Tracer, the assassin rolled over to a nearby vent, quickly unscrewing it and opening it. He climbed in, followed closely by the now-untransformed Ditto, and pulled the grate closed. From the shadows, he listened.

 

He was not able to catch much of what was said, due to the loud fan blowing behind him, but from the sounds of it they were opening cells. Jackson heard several terrified prisoners begin to whimper and shout, some of them apparently fighting back before... nothing. Silence replaced their screams. Jackson frowned. From his vantage point, he could see the guards beginning to drag people away, one, two, three--five in total. Once they had gone, another person walked by, moving over to the console that Jackson had been at before. This man appeared to be wearing a lab coat, and moved with a smug authority that Jackson found he held a rather high distaste for. Before long, the man left, leaving the place empty once more.

 

Slowly, Jackson opened the grate, sliding out of the vent. He looked at Tracer as the Ditto resumed a human form. "Let us never cut corners like that again," he said flatly. The Pokémon nodded. Eyebrow raised, Jackson stared at the exit, thinking.

 

"That guy messed with the computer," Tracer noted, moving toward it. "Wonder what they were up to..."

 

"I think I know," Jackson said. "Come on. If I'm right, they'll lead us right to Mr. Ketchum." Without waiting for a response, Tracer nodded again, following after his trainer...

 

IC - Blackskull & co. - Hearthome City:

Ho-Oh

Crobat, Honchkrow, Mandibuzz, Fearow, and dozens upon dozens of others... The Darkrais' forces were indeed diverse, but they were nothing compared to Ho-Oh's might--the power of light, shining full-force on the darkness before it, aiming to eliminate an unnatural abomination from the world. The phoenix flapped his powerful wings as a hundred attacks shot toward him from every direction, Air Cutters and Dark Pulses and a dozen others. Pulling his wings against his body, Ho-Oh used Protect. A golden shield appeared around him, encasing the bird in light, blocking the attacks. Smoke filled the air, mixing with the airborne shadow to blind all those who flew within.

 

When it cleared, Ho-Oh remained, eyes glowing with energy as electricity danced across his rainbow wings. With a loud caw, the bird unleashed his Thunderbolt attacks, striking his adversaries. Many of them fainted from the attack, collapsing and beginning to fall; as they did, Ho-Oh's followers rushed forth, grabbing them and helping them to safely land on the various buildings below, where they rested. To some, the act might appear odd, but in truth, it was not. Ho-Oh did not seek to kill those who were swayed by the darkness; the phoenix sought only to destroy the corruption itself.

 

With the way cleared again, the Rainbow Pokémon moved forward, getting into position again. Once more, as he stared into the spiraling tower, Ho-Oh felt as if he were being watched from the shadows. He did not let these dominate his mind, however, instead willing flames to surround his wings as he prepared a combined Sacred Flame and Sky Attack, aimed directly at the Void Tower...

 

Ariadne, Vé, Vili, Odin

Ariadne had to admit that she was impressed as she saw Ho-Oh deal with his attackers. Noting that the Rainbow Pokémon was charging up an attack, she mentally directed her fellow Deoxys forward. The group flew in a triangle formation, Vili taking point with his Defense Form. The DNA Pokémon spun together, perfectly in synch, as they fought their way toward Ho-Oh, watching as each felled Pokémon was caught and escorted away by one of Ho-Oh's Flying-Types.

 

The act greatly puzzled Ariadne, though she did not question it. She, too, knew that the true target here was the Void Tower, not those that it had summoned as a last-ditch attempt at life. At last, the group arrived at Ho-Oh's location. Ariadne fired an Ice Beam attack at a pair of Mandibuzz that had moved too close, knocking them away from their target. The Deoxys moved next to Ho-Oh, commanding her troops to take over defense for a moment.

 

Ho-Oh, she greeted, bowing to the phoenix. It's a pleasure to meet you at last.

 

The same to you, Matriarch of the Deoxys, Ho-Oh replied. Ariadne bowed her head slightly, embarrassed by the title now. The bird seemed to smile. Wear that title proudly, Matriarch. You have earned it.

 

Thank you, Ariadne answered. She watched as Vili used Mirror Coat to deflect a Dark Pulse from an opposing Honchkrow. Vé was busy shooting across the field, making use of Double Team and Flash Cannon to distract as many opponents as he could. Meanwhile, Odin had taken it upon himself to challenge a flock of Fearow, teleporting around their attacks and striking back with a variety of attacks. The Matriarch looked back at Ho-Oh. Do you have a plan for when you breach the tower?

 

With any luck, someone will get in, the phoenix answered. Perhaps you could see to it that someone does?

 

I will try, Ariadne answered. Saluting the Rainbow Pokémon, she transformed into her Speed Form, taking off and broadcasting a telepathic message to any friendly agents in the area... Ho-Oh is charging an attack. Prepare to enter the tower.

 

IC - Kyle Eston/Sheik/Eight - Sinjoh Ruins:

With a sweep of her hand, Eight unleashed her attack. Blinding jets of electricity shot forth through the air, crackling loudly as they leaped toward Kyle, Sheik, and Jaeda. Hardly was there time to blink before Sheik moved in front of the attack, allowing the electricity to strike her, absorbing the attack and using it to provide herself with extra energy. Eight growled, drifting back slightly, observing her opponents with an ireful interest. Kyle stared straight back at her, grabbing another Pokéball from his belt. With the click of a button, it enlarged. "My turn."

 

He tossed it into the air. The Liberty Agent pointed at Eight. "Jaeda, use Metal Claw!" With a roar, the Charizard complied, taking to the air and charging forward. The Flame Pokémon's claws extended, becoming as hard as iron as she flew toward Eight, swiping forward. The Darkrai dodged the attack with ease, raising her hand to unleash a Shadow Ball attack, though was surprised and thrown off-balance when Jaeda almost immediately turned around, forcing the Ancient to dodge again.

 

With Eight distracted, Kyle looked at Sheik, pointing at the Mienfoo that had materialized in the air. "Sheik, use Magnet Rise, catch Sanshou, and help out Jaeda," he said quickly, catching Sanshou's Pokéball as it came back down. Sheik nodded. Crouching, she formed a magnetic field around herself, powerful enough to allow herself to float several feet off the ground, and leaped upward. Sanshou grabbed hold of the Raikou's fur, planting herself on the Thunder Pokémon's back as they ascended toward Eight and Jaeda, coming in from behind the Darkrai.

 

Eight turned her head as she heard the approaching crackle of electricity. Thrusting her hands forward, she knocked Jaeda's arms to either side, immediately launching a series of Thunderbolts from her fingertips to knock her back. With her current threat taken care of, the Darkrai crossed her arms, dissipating into the darkness before either Sheik or Sanshou could attack. She reappeared beside the approaching pair, unleashing a Roar of Time at point-blank range, disorienting the pair and launching them across the room and away from each other. Eight chuckled, pointing at her two helpless targets as she prepared to finish them off...

 

... Only to be interrupted as something large struck her from behind, throwing off her aim. The culprit was Jaeda, who had recovered and was now racing toward Sheik, managing to catch her before she slammed into either the ground or wall. As Eight righted herself, she saw a Gliscor swoop by as well, clipping her with a Poison Jab before catching Sanshou. Both of the Flying-Type's carried their cargo back down to the ground, gently placing them in front of Kyle and moving to stand guard, giving them time to recover from Eight's attack. The Darkrai clenched her fists, maintaining an even distance from the trainer and his team.

 

"You humans are more trouble than you're worth," she spat.

 

"Conquering us wouldn't be as fun if we weren't, now would it?" Kyle asked pointedly, crouching down to pick Sanshou up. He held a finger in front of her face, testing her reaction. "Regardless, thanks--I'm glad I'm considered a nuisance now as opposed to just a human." Frowning, the trainer pulled a Sitrus Berry from his bag, feeding it to the barely-conscious Fighting-Type. As Sheik shook her head, forcing herself to stand up, Kyle pointed at her, sending several quick jolts of electricity at her from his glove. She nodded in gratitude as she felt the lightning rejuvenate her.

 

"Don't flatter yourself. You are still just a human to me," Eight growled. Lifting a hand, she launched a Shadow Ball at the group, which Jaeda met with a Flamethrower. The two attacks collided, light and darkness cancelling each other out. "You're a brat to be conquered, corrupted and bent to our whim, just as countless others have--other humans, other Pokémon, cities and continents, even Arceus himself, once upon a time. What can you possibly hope to accomplish by yourself?"

 

Kyle looked up at the Darkrai, cold fury burning in his eyes. Picking up his Mienfoo, he returned the injured Pokémon to her Pokéball as he rose to his feet. "What you and others like you don't seem to understand is that I am not alone," he said flatly. Eight's eyes narrowed uncertainly. "Not one of us is alone. Look around you, Darkrai. You and every single one of your comrades are fighting battles without any support--one against many. We are united. And that is why I know we will win." Kyle's eyes glowed with the power of Space as he spoke, causing an aura of energy to surround each of his Pokémon--including those not on the field. "I hope you're ready, because you're about to pay for the damage you've caused--all of it."

OOC: Okay, the theme I recommend for Ray/Jenny doesn't change, but I'm personally switching to What I'm Made Of and also Sonic Youth for this part, because it fits the turning point Kyle just initiated. =P Also, I'm so considering Sonic Youth for one part here. =P It does kinda fit, too. xD-==IC: Ray==-Ray frowned grimly, as he looked over to where Kyle was, noticing his confident attitude, and his will to never give up; and also his speech. Ray then looked back to Two, and then smirked."What are you smiling about?!" Two demanded, as Ray stood up."It's simple." Ray said, a confident smile on his face at that moment, as he clenched his fist, ready to move once more."We have something you don't. We have each other. We have the will to go on. We have hope." Ray said, as he ran toward Two once more. Jenny was surprised at first, but quickly ran forward as well, attempting to catch up to Ray again, as Two growled, and moved his arms forward, attempting to send out Dark Pulses in the shape of arrows toward the two again. Ray quickly dodged to the side, barely avoiding the attack, though Jenny had a part of her left arm cut, which made her yell out in pain for a moment. The girl grabbed her arm, however, she nodded at Gyaralite, who attempted to use a Hyper Beam on Two quickly. Two was hit, but still not hurt that much, which caused Jenny to frown slightly. Ray, however, still had confidence, as he ran toward Two once more."You persistent pest! Take this!" Two yelled out, as he unleashed a larger area Dark Pulse on the area where Ray was. Ray held up his arm, however, and fired off a blast of ice as he sidestepped, though the blast missed the Darkrai by a lot."You... Just die like humans are supposed to!" Two yelled out, as he opened a portal next to him, and attempted to slash at Ray quickly three times. The first attack missed, due to Ray dodging it, however, the second one hit, and sent Ray rolling backwards with a large slash wound on his chest; though luckily not a deep wound. The third attack missed due to him being out of the way, however."Zangetsu, now!" Ray yelled out, as the Zangoose launched a Close Combat attack on Two while his back was exposed, dealing a great amount of damage, and causing the Darkrai to stagger; however, not dealing nearly enough damage to finish him off yet."Why you...! You rat; just get out of our way; you can't succeed anyway!" Two yelled out, as he floated into the air, and moved away from the Zangoose. Ray stood up, despite the pain from the attack, and smiled."You just don't get it... I guess I'll have to show you myself! Just what we're made of!" Ray called out; it seemed almost as if he had taken lessons from Evan on how to act confident in a grave situation.

OOC: That Lucky Chant that Jaydes is performing? It's working on everyone fighting the Darkrai. Have fun!

 

IC: Evan Tierra, Sinjoh Ruins

 

"Hrmph, I guess I gotta take this easy.", Evan said as he grabbed two poke balls, "Hippowdon, return! Vlad, c'mon out and use Tailwind! Lazengann, Drill Run!"

 

Vlad appeared in a flash of light and cried out happily. Happiness turned to dread as he saw One. He flew back towards Evan, shivering. Lazengann, meanwhile, was running towards One, aiming to jump towards her and strike her while he could.

 

"It's all right to be afraid, Vlad.", Evan said to his Gliscor, "But you've got to help out your friends, ok? So please use Tailwind."

 

Lazengann jumped towards One, but she then phased out, rendering Lazengann's attack useless. She then threw another purple orb of light, this one aimed at Evan. Vlad, seeing this, flew forward, aiming to take it for Evan. The orb struck Vlad, poisoning him as well.

 

"Big mistake, hag.", Evan said, a small grin on his face, "I've learned since we fought last. Vlad here is gonna be your downfall. Isn't that right, buddy?"

 

"Scor!" Vlad cried out as he made a saluting gesture to Evan. He then flew up and whirled around, creating a small tornado surrounding Evan, his pokemon, and One.

 

"Insolence!", One said, her left hand glowing with shadowy energy, "Nothing you do will matter if your pokemon are drowning in the Void!"

 

With that said, she fired a Dark void blast at Lazengann, who was trying to attack her again. The attack struck him, putting him to sleep. Evan's grin was wiped off his face. He had to get Lazengann out of there.

 

"Lazengann, return!", Evan shouted as he returned Lazengann, "Landorus, it's your turn. Show her what you've got!"

 

"I will and shall, Evan.", Landorus roared, "These creatures have been allowed to spread too much!"

 

Landorus pounced towards One, his eyes aflame with rage and power...........

 

IC: Klim Prizak

Five fired a Roar of Time at the two ghost types, aiming to snuff out that infernal chanting. Jaydes dodged, still chanting away, but Shiva was struck dead on by it. She fell to the ground, murmuring softly.

 

"You did well, Shiva.", Klim said as he returned her to her poke ball and reached for another, "Edison, it's your turn! Discharge!"

 

As soon as the Rotom was sent out, he fired a blast of electricity at Five, aiming to hinder his movement.....

OOC: I'm going to suggest the final boss theme from Sonic: Before the Sequel (a fangame), Ode to Shattered Illusions for the Darkrai battle. And in the parts when the Darkrai are going to lose, perhaps the bonus fight music, Unstoppable (which is an awesome remix of the ending theme of Sonic 2).

"Well, I was going to see if Dad was still there to give me a ride, but it seems you have something else in mind. Alright then, do whatever you had in mind." he said with a nod.

Zach said, as he tossed a Pokeball out, revealing the alternate dimension Raikou."This is how I got here so quickly. We could get to Olivine rather quickly, or just go back to where the ship is; up to you." Zach said with a shrug, as he got onto the Raikou quickly.

OOC: Ah well.

 

IC: With the use of Teleport, James kept at the vanguard of the forces in Lilycove. Mordred and Lancelot prepared themselves through Swords Dance while Galahad and Percival spewed fire towards any enemy Pokemon that strayed to close the prepping pair. Guinevere and Gawain kept near James protecting him from the occasional direct attack.

 

If only we had finished Project Harmony, James thought wistfully about the fact that he needed to be protected. He had a gun in his pocket, but decided that was only for emergency's only. That, or for really strong Pokémon that could take a few shots.

 

His thoughts were cut short by a couple of frenzied Ursaring who launched themselves toward the Executive. They were intercepted by a boosted punch of the Ice and Bullet varieties by Mordred and Lancelot respectively. Both of the Ursaring were visibly wounded but neither seemed fazed by them. They unleashed a series of punches at their opponents, Mordred was able to dodge with ease but Lancelot was not as lucky. Fortunately for the Scizor an Aura Sphere slammed into the frenzied Pokémon launching it off and knocking it out.

 

Celebi at the moment, was warping around towards the center of the of the forces of the frenzied pokemon. She grew gold for a moment before slamming into the ground unleashing a massive Earth Power which blew away anyone too close.

 

"Lady Guinevere, remind me not to tick off Celebi."

 

Can do, she said as she grabbed the remaining Ursaring with a Psychic hold and blasted the poor Pokémon away.

 

And I will remind myself not to tick you off...

Aspen staggered back in surprise for a moment. "Is that the legendary Pokemon Raikou?!" he said with a look of disbelief on his face. "How did you get it? Well, at least we can get back quickly. Let's head back to Olivine, I have to let my parents know what happened..." he said, getting on the Raikou, recalling his Pokemon and putting Laurel on his lap.

-==IC: Zach==-"Long story. One I'm not particularly keen on explaining right at this moment. But yeah; let's go." Zach said with a nod, as the Raikou took off at about the speed of sound, and headed toward where Olivine was quickly, even as Zach attempted to think of a reason why someone would want to kidnap Dahlia; despite the fact that he couldn't think of any such reasons...

OOC: JiMing: You're right, those songs are pretty awesome. But I think I prefer each individual battle having its own theme -- each Darkrai has its own personality, and as such each of these battles will have a slightly different tone, represented by the different themes.

 

Speaking of tone...

 

IC: Dack

Dack covered his ears at Bite's 'singing.' "I don't think I've ever heard a Totodile that was more tone deaf!" he grumbled. But he got what Zac was trying to do. "Shieldon! I'm really going to regret saying this, but Metal Sound!"

 

As she didn't have anything else to rub her shield against, Shieldon used her own claws to play her shield like an instrument, producing a counter-harmony with Bite's singing. The result was enough to make some of the more sound-sensitive Pokemon like Zubat and Golbat fall back immediately.

 

Ho-Oh is charging an attack. Prepare to enter the tower.

 

The voice echoed through the minds of the four trainers. Palmer glanced over at the tower, which was still a good distance away. "This is our chance!" he called out to the others. "Cresselia, Aurora Beam! Dragonite, Hyper Beam!"

 

The Lunar Pokemon unleashed a cold beam, freezing the Pokemon immediately surrounding her. Meanwhile, Dragonite charged up an intense beam of pure energy, clearing a path to the Void Tower.

 

"Fly, quickly!" the Frontier Brain cried. "We may not get another chance to get inside the tower!"

 

"At least once we're inside, I'll actually be of some use," Luke sighed. His only Pokemon was Machoke, who wasn't the ideal Pokemon to fight birds with.

 

Even as the four trainers sped toward the tower, the path Dragonite had cleared began to close up again.

 

IC: Ryan/Ellen

Quil only had to stand next to Ellen as the heat of the flames on his back melted the ice that bound her to the floor. Meanwhile, Togie sent an Aura Sphere toward Seven. The Darkrai backflipped to avoid the attack, giggling uncontrollably the entire time.

 

"Now this is a fight I can get behind!" Seven laughed. "There's only one problem with birdies like Togekiss, though..." He bent forward and said in a low whisper, "they don't fly very well when they're encased in ice!" Laughing maniacally, Seven shot an Ice Beam at Togie, freezing him on the spot.

 

"Togie, no!" Ryan cried. For a moment, he wondered if now would be a good time to use his power suit -- a small fireball could probably melt the ice around Togie. But he was still getting used to the suit. One slight miscalculation and he might burn the Togekiss to a crisp. No, this required a much more delicate hand.

 

Closing his eyes, Ryan forced himself to forget the battle raging all around him, allowing the power of Void to consume him. When he opened his eyes again, his eyes glowed gray. A similar glow appeared in Togie's eyes as the power of Reverse "voided" his frozen status condition.

 

Free to fly once more, the Togekiss Extremespeeded over to Seven and struck with an Aerial Ace.

 

"Impressive," the Darkrai said as he staggered back, turning his head curiously at Ryan's display of power. "I never knew you had that kind of ability."

 

"You've clearly underestimated us, then," Ryan smiled as he held up a gloved hand. The gauntlet of his battle armor glowed as he shot a burst of fireballs at the Darkrai. At the same time, Quil and Entei both shot a Flamethrower at Seven, catching the Ancient Darkrai in the middle of the three attacks.

 

Meanwhile, Ellen ran to each of her Pokemon, making sure they were okay from the Spacial Rend. Luckily, Ellen's own powers of Space had activated at the last second, allowing her Pokemon to dodge the brunt of the attack. Otherwise, they all probably would have been knocked out. "We can't just go on attacking directly," she said. "We have to be strategic about this. Attack when he least expects it. For now, we should set up some defenses. Solo, can you put up a Light Screen and a Reflect?"

 

Can do, Solo replied as he got to work on the energy barriers.

IC VincentI whistled to myself, waiting for Kaito to finish his battle. "Come one," I thought.

-==IC: Ray/Jenny==-"Are you okay?" Jenny asked, as the two regrouped; and Ray simply smiled."I'm always alright. If you had your memories; you'd know that." Ray said confidently; though his face slightly betrayed how much that attack had hurt; though he covered it up quickly by looking over at where two had gotten to."Well then; let's go freeze our dark friend in his tracks; shall we?" Ray said, as he and Jenny ran toward the Darkrai quickly. Even as they ran that way, Two charged up a Dark Void, and launched the spheres toward the two and their Pokemon. Recalling his Zangetsu, Ray began to fire ice at different points in their path; either to hop over to get more air over the Dark Void spheres, or to block them outright. Due to this approach, the two managed to get closer to the Darkrai without being put to sleep."You pests... Just give up. You can't do anything against us." Two said, as he attempted to use Spacial Rend once more. However, Ray wasn't about to fall for it a second time; and dodged the first two attacks easily. Flustered by the failure of the second attack, Two never noticed the Pokeball rolling toward him until the Zangoose launched itself out of the Pokeball curled up, ready to punch the Darkrai away once more. Two was hit once more, and took heavy damage once more; however, was still relatively unphazed by the attack, even as Gyaralite waited near where the Darkrai was headed to, and unleashed another Hydro Pump on him; though it wasn't much more effective than before.

OOC: Fair enough, it makes sense for each battle having it's own themes. I do like both the Big Arms Generations mix and the Ultimate Show. I'd just choose those two songs if my character was in a similar situation.IC: Aspen SeatonAspen held on tightly when the Raikou took off. When he somewhat adjusted to traveling at supersonic speeds, he attempted to make sense out of everything that had just happened to him in such a short time, also mulling over how to explain everything to his parents.

-==IC: Zach==-Aspen didn't have that long to actually think it over, as the Raikou didn't take too long to traverse the region; however, it took a course across the land, since it didn't trust trying the water a second time; that said, it was still MUCH faster than traveling across the region by foot. As they actually arrived in Olivine, however, the Raikou subtly slowed down; so that the riders did not get thrown off by a sudden stop."You'll have to lead the way again, of course." Zach said, as he recalled the Raikou before anyone noticed the Legendary and began to get suspicious of it's origins."It's been quite some time since I've been this far into Johto, I have to say..." Zach explained, as he looked around; it didn't seem to have changed that much, but yet seemed so unfamiliar; an odd feeling for him, considering it had only been about 3 or 4 years now since he last visited.

IC - Seth:

Seth's Lucario managed to match blow for blow that of Shade's Ryo, the mirror match an amazing spectacle to behold, regarding their speed and skill. As the fight raged on, a tendril of darkness launched itself from Shade's own shadow, latching into the back of Ryo, corrupting it with Darkness and empowering it. "You underestimate my abilities, father," Shade growled. Seth's Lucario finally got close enough to Ryo, letting loose with a Force Palm... Only for Ryo to dissolve into the floor, reappearing directly underneath of it's opponent. A dark glint appeared in the of Shade's Lucario as it delivered it's own, darkness-empowered Force Palm to the chest of Seth's Lucario, sending it flying upwards.

 

"And you overestimate yours!" Seth hissed, as Lucario quickly recovered, sending forth an Aura Sphere. As the sphere dashed towards Ryo, the attack suddenly swung around, narrowly missing the head of the dark Lucario.

 

"Your aim is off, father."

 

"It's far from off, and never call me that again!" Seth roared. Shade suddenly realized exactly what Seth's words meant as he realized that the Aura Sphere never intended to hit Ryo, instead traveling past and squarely hitting Shade in the chest. However, despite what it seemed like, Shade somehow caught the attack in a ball of shadows, quickly compressing it until it was no more. Taking advantage of the distraction, Seth ran across the battles, tackling his future 'son' to the ground. Staring into his eyes, Seth was taken aback, seeing just how corrupted Shade was becoming through his use of darkness. "You..."

 

"Enough!" Shade proclaimed, kicking Seth off of him, before delivering a swift kick to the jaw of the one he calls his father. "Now, you are going to see just how powerful I have become!"

OOC: It already finished.IC KaitoTthe rain subsided as the group entered Route 210. Kaito stopped, waiting for Vincent to catch up. "Come on," Kaito called out, "We're almost to Solaceon Town."

After several minutes of running, interrupted only by a few exhausted stops, the group made it to Solaceon. "I... think... we... need... a... better... approach..." panted Kaito. Kaito looked around.

IC Vincent"I'd say," I said, looking around. For a moment, I considered getting a taxi only to remember the state the region was in. "Goodness, we're still a ways off. Got a move for this? 'Cause I don't."

"No..." Kaito looked around. "You'd think there would at least be a few bikes for us to 'borrow'..." Kaito sighed. "There has got to be some type of vehicle in this town."

IC: Vincent

"Why why why did everybody have to put their bikes away," I moaned a I searched the town for a bike. Finally, I found one. But only one. "Hm..."

IC Kaito"Well, better than nothing... Did you find any spare parts where that came from?" Kaito inquired, carefully studying the bike. "I think I might have an idea..."

IC: Zac and Shadows"Thunder!" Shadows yelled, firing another red bolt of electricity, "Go get in! I'll be with you soon!"The Totodile kept on his "singing", Zac only laughed, "He is perhaps one of the most interesting Pokemon I have met!" Zac yelled,

IC: Evan Tierra, Sinjoh Ruins

 

Landorus pounced upon One, but the Darkrai dissipated into a shadow hoping to increase the distance between Landorus and herself.

 

"Not this time." Landorus growled as he glowed with an emerald green light.

 

Suddenly, many Grass Knots appeared out of the ground, aiming to ensnare One. Many of them missed her shadow. Landorus roared and glowed even brighter. Ropes of grass grabbed the shadowy Darkrai by her arms. They then went taut, preventing her from moving around.

 

"It's time to end you!", Evan said as he reached for Gnip's Poke Ball, "Gnip, finish her off with an Outrage!"

 

Gnip appeared in a flash of light and roared proudly. She had been waiting to show this "hag" what she was truly made of. Gnip glowed red as she rushed towards One and started to slash at the Darkrai with her claws.

 

 

IC: Klim Prizak

 

Edioson's Discharge hit Five dead on, but didn't paralyze him. The Darkrai growled. How could such a worthless human give him so much trouble?

 

"Jaydes, Hidden Power!", Klim said, "Edison, Electro Ball! Five, your group is gonna pay for imprisoning me in the shadows!"

 

Jaydes, still chanting, fired a energy blast that looked like a fist, while Edison fire a small sphere of electricity at Five.

 

The Darkrai, still tired from firing the Roar of Time, could not dodge the attack and shouted in pain as both attacks struck him.......

IC - Justin and Zac

Justin turned back and saw Zac running through the portal, shortly followed by Plush and the one Zac faced in the Driftveil tournament. "Well," Justin said, recalling Plush, "the more the merrier."

 

Three smirked at the idea of two other trainers. "No matter the number, you shall not win. It's far too late for that."

 

"I would think twice," Justin said, throwing all his other Pokemon, save Regice. "Sparks, Thunder! Drifter, Stockpile." The Manetric's golden coat glistened with energy, and he shot electricity at the Darkrai. However, Three used Psychic to divert the Thunder elsewhere, to Justin's surprise.

 

"Zac!" Justin called. "I could use some help! And that guy who followed should come help too,"

IC Vincent"I think I did... there might be some in this home..." I walked over to the back of a home, seeing some spare parts in the yard.

IC Kaito

 

"Good. See if you can salvage anything. Are there any wheels in there?" Kaito asked as he grabbed a pair of lawn chairs off a porch, and walked over to observe Vincent's discovery.

OOC: Dralcax: They're basically just guys and gals who'll reteach your Pokémon a move. Nothing really particular to them. X3

 

Basically they're just Move Tutors, only without the mandatory waiting period where your Pokémon is still learning to master the move, since they've used it before.

 

IC - Ho-Oh - Hearthome City: The air around Ho-Oh quickly became white hot as the phoenix unleashed his attack. A massive, bird-shaped flame shot forward, barely maintaining its shape as it hurtled through the air toward the side of the Void Tower. With an earthshaking explosion, the flames struck, fire continuing to pour onto that spot for another ten seconds, melting a hole in the side of the structure before and nearly blinding those that looked on. With a wide sweep of his wings, Ho-Oh cut off his attack, breathing deeply as he began to catch his breath.

 

A large hole had formed again in the side of the Void Tower. While it had begun to repair itself again, the act was slower this time, threads of shadow weakly trying to connect together to stitch the wound. As Ho-Oh looked on, other tendrils emerged from the side of the tower, pulling together in a spot several stories above the hole, directly across from the Rainbow Pokémon. The phoenix realized what was about to happen moments before it actually did. Too exhausted now to pull up a Protect, the phoenix could only watch as a massive beam of shadow energy fired from the condensed shadows, a deadly bullet headed straight toward him. He attempted to dodge, though knew it was too late.

 

To his surprise, a blue shield suddenly appeared before him, Vili, the Defense Deoxys, at its very center. The beam struck the shield, pushing the Psychic-Type back further and further, though he managed to hold on--barely. In a moment, Ariadne and Vé had teleported beside him, lending their energies to the shield, followed by two of the Latios that had come with Team Liberty.

 

With the tower distracted, now would be the perfect opportunity to land...
