Pokémon: Rise Of The Rockets

IC: Dandy

Dandy cleared his throat as he heard George thank Jayron and Colette. "Excus me, I too helped out here pal." The Joltik on his shoulder gave him a slight jolt of electricity as if saying to not be rude. "Ow!" As he scratched the area where the electricity hit him, he was still confused about this whole aura wielding thing.

"Look buddy, I'm still not getting how in the world people can wield aura. But we can discuss this at some shelter; I'm soaking wet in this rain. Let's head into town and see if maybe the locals have some answers. Never hurts to check."

Dandy and his Pokemon begam to walk towards the location of the nearest town, when Dandy noticed Colette's facial expression. "What's wrong sweetheart? Something bothering ya after the attack?" Of course, Dandy couldn't help but let his smooth talking voice wander into a different field. That's just how the man was when he talked to girls or anyone in general

-==IC: Jenny==-

"Alright." Jenny said with a giggle, as she climbed up onto Gnip again, recalling that she had likely done so the other day, before they fought Gerald again.

-==IC: Colette==-

Colette was about to react to Dandy's odd question, as she turned her attention away from the awkward question, and instead to George's thanks.

"You are very welcome, sir." Colette said with a smile, when Dandy both seemed to doubt her powers, and began to hit on her.

It's like a recurring nightmare. And always at night. Colette inwardly groaned, trying not to show that, but definitely seemed annoyed.

"No." Colette said, a slight edge to the response, as she was not up for a repeat of the night before; and besides, nothing was bothering her. She was intrigued as to what caused this, despite the obvious reason being the weird psychic instance; but she wasn't sure why exactly it would act like that... She'd have to talk with Jayron about that later. When people like this newcomer wasn't around, that was.

-==IC: Ryan==-

Ryan seemed to be in an angry sort of hopeless after everything happened... That is, until the cavalry showed up. Ryan allowed himself a brief smile, as it then turned back into a frown.

"And this is the part where the swarm defeats the monster..." Ryan growled, as Lucia, who had been focused on Adams until then, turned her head and looked at Ryan in annoyed disbelief.

"... Swarm...? You mean like, insects? Did you just... compare us to insects?" Lucia asked, wanting to make sure she had that right. Ryan turned, confusedly, as he scratched his head.

"Yes...? Well, no... I mean, she did, but I was just completing the situation..." Ryan said, as Lucia simply sighed in exasperation.

"Whatever... Let's just focus." Lucia said, obviously not really taking the answer, but sending out her Bayleef and Gothita to fight. Ryan shook his head, not getting the issue, as he recalled his Simisage, recognizing that it likely wouldn't be a good choice in this fight.

-==IC: Zach==-

"You've been to Olivine?" Zach asked curiously, as he looked over to Palmer, and then studied his face curiously for a moment, and his eyes then widened, as he seemed startled.

"You're Palmer, one of the Sinnoh Frontier Brains!" Zach said, incredulously, as he hadn't actually paid attention before then; having been so distracted by everything.

IC: (My Havoc dudes, you figure it out...Okay fine, James, Jamie, Roddy and whatever Pokes they happen to have out on them)

On the way over to where the group had found Adams, James had to recall Galahad, due to size constraints in the hallways with the large group. For a similar reason, Jamie had to recall Tristan, and she also recalled Bedevere due to his inexperience giving him little chance to aid in the battle, as a single hit of the caliber shown thus far would have taken him out in one shot.

Upon seeing Adams in person, James began to flashback to his earlier encounter with the man who shared his first name. He would not show it, but he was incredibly nervous. Even when he was in such a large group, he could not exactly erase that humbling memory. But then he heard a quite insulting remark come from one of the Rockets (Jamie's friend, what was her name?)

"Oh come now. What is wrong with being compared to an insect? Some of my very best friends are insects!"

Jamie managed to keep the laughter inside, Pelleas did not. Lancelot managed to bring up enough recent bad memories not to smile.

"Not to criticize, but is this really the time?" Roderick asked, a little exasperated.

When you were as anxious as James was at that moment, it turned out that yes, it was a decent time to be making a joke. It calms you down, and lets you focus on the moment. At least that was what James was experiencing.

James turned back towards Quincy Adams, "While we are on the subject of jokes, I do not suppose you would be willing to surrender?"

IC: Jayron/Alexa/George

Jayron's mouth dropped open at Dandy's sudden... interest in Colette. Did... did that really just happen? he asked Lucario, dumbfounded.

Not everyone acts as professionally as you do, Jayron, Lucario replied.

I have half a mind to just let him wander into town on his own. Jayron sighed in frustration. But, as annoyed as he was with the newcomer, he couldn't in good conscience leave him where another enraged Pokémon like the Feraligatr might attack him. "Hold up," he said to Dandy. "We already talked to the locals. That's how we ended up with Captain George and the others. They don't know any more than we do."

George nodded as he picked up Alexa and turned back to the cliff face. "Hey, Jimmy!" he called up the cliff. "Can you get my car from the lab? I'm going to take Alexa home." The captain of the police force turned back to Colette, Jayron, and Dandy. "If you all need somewhere to stay, you're more than welcome to stay at my place," he said. "It's the least I can do for you for keeping my daughter safe."

"Thank you, sir," Jayron said as he recalled his Absol to keep her out of the rain. "We're just glad we were able to help."

***

Up at the top of the cliff, as Jimmy left for the meteorology lab, Peter lingered at the cliff's edge, looking down on the beach. "That Feraligatr intrigues me," he muttered. "It may hold answers. Those trainers may have won the battle, but they've forgotten the loot. But we know better than to be so wasteful."

Behind the scientist, his Magneton whirred, its dull eyes betraying no emotion.

IC: Dack/Palmer

Palmer chuckled at Zach's recognition. "It was a good twenty or so years ago that Johto's Battle Frontier opened near Olivine," he said. "Probably before any of you were born. Those were my glory days. Tower Tycoon, they called me. But yes, Olivine's a very nice city -- reminds me a bit of Sunyshore, actually, although I can also see the resemblance to Snowpoint."

Part of Dack wanted to tell Zach he could get his autographs later, but he wisely kept his mouth shut, keeping his eyes trained on the cobblestones as they continued toward the restaurant.

IC: Evan Tierra, Vermillion City

"All right, Gnip.", Evan said as soon as Jenny was safely on Gnip, "Let's fly! Run toward the ocean and take off!"

Roaring impressively, the Garchomp ran as Evan and Jenny held on tight, Evan laughing like a madman the whole while. As soon as she drew close to the beach, Gnip tucked her forelimbs to the sides of her body and made a flying leap into the skies above. The golden rays of the sunset gleamed on her scales as she ascended higher and higher. Soon, the Garchomp leveled off her ascension and began a steady horizontal glide.

"Bravo, Gnip!", Evan said as he petted Gnip on the neck, "It shouldn't be too long, Jenny. Call Ray and tell him we'll be at Four Island in a bit."

IC: The Seatons

"Palmer, right. I've read about you before." Aspen said, turning back to face the group for once. "Cause yeah, the Battle Fronteir is basically right next to Olivine. I know a little about you and the other Fronteir Brains."

"Yeah, I think you told us about them once." Dahlia replied. "Didn't you tell me that one of the Brains was named Dahlia?" she asked with a chuckle, looking back at the others. "Then he told me I was his favorite Dahlia no matter what."

"That was when I was like, what, five or six?!" Aspen cried in dismay. The young boy looked down at the ground once more, and sighed. "....But yeah, I said that. Though, I don't know a lot of Dahlias, really...." he admitted.

"Wait a minute." Olivia said, looking at Zach confusedly. "You haven't met Palmer? ....And shouldn't you have at least, you know, recognized him or something? You've met a lot of famous people...." she asked, not noticing the group was getting even closer to the Olivine Garden.

Haven't seen one of these in a long time...

-==IC: Zach==-

"Never met him, no." Zach said, with a shake of his head. "My mom fought him when he was still around in the Johto Frontier; but well, one, I never had a chance, and two, I haven't really met famous people, too much..." Zach said, as, compared to the Elite Four or Frontier Brains, the gym leaders were more like normal people than others; to him, at least.

"Plus, I've been a bit distracted until now." Zach giggled with a slightly sheepish grin, though, recalled something interesting, as he looked over to Madison in curiosity.

"You said you were from Snowpoint? A couple of my cousins live there, which is kinda interesting; didn't expect to run into any people from there, especially like this." Zach explained, since it kinda was in Sinnoh; which was further away from Johto or Hoenn than, say, the distance between Kanto and Johto.

IC: Dack/Madison/Palmer

Palmer smiled. "Oh yes, Arcade Star Dahlia. She was always the most flexible of our little group of Frontier Brains, able to adapt to any situation life threw at her. Always said there was no need to worry." He grinned at the middle Seaton. "Perhaps something we should all keep in mind during these tough times."

"Oh, how interesting!" Madison said to Zach as they came to a stop at the entrance to the restaurant. "Do you visit Snowpoint often?"

Dack remained silent. Madison's overly-cheery voice, an obvious attempt to try and make peace between the two groups, was starting to get on his nerves. But he dared not reprimand her now, not when tensions seemed to have settled down a bit.

IC: The Seatons

"No need to worry, huh? She seems like a nice person then." Dahlia said in response to Palmer. "Who knows? Maybe after all this is done, you could take me to meet her or something." she joked, knowing full well the Tower Tycoon had much more important things to do than that.

"Snowpoint's cold and wet, right?" Aspen asked. "And don't you need like, ten layers of clothes? I mean, what would summer look like for you guys anyways?" he pondered curiously.

"Cousins?" Olivia asked Zach. She had always been so enthralled with the boy himself that she had never stopped to consider his extended family. "Could you tell us more about them when we get in the restaurant maybe?

IC - Sonja Baron - The Alamo, Hallway:

"That's good," Sonja said. She stood there for several minutes, waiting for someone to break the silence. Loki soon took notice and glanced at her, and then at Ray, and then at Ryan, utterly confused. Finally, the Liberty Agent cleared her throat. "Well. We were going to go have a practice battle." Pause. "So . . . If you want to tag along, feel free to--we'll just be in the arenas. And such." After bouncing on her heels for a few moments, Sonja forced a thin smile-like expression, and clapping her hands together before walking forward.

IC - Kyle Eston/Esen Windred - Lumiose City, Streets:

The interruption had actually come from outside, where a loud, booming voice had begun to sound. Kyle's attention was immediately drawn toward it, away from his and Esen's conversation. She briefly paused with her mouth still open, hesitant to continue speaking, before deciding to wait and pick up the topic later. In the meantime, she glanced down at her plate as Kyle turned back to her, nodding toward the door.

"Sounds like that battle expo is getting started," he asked. "Wanna check it out?"

Esen thought it over. "Sure," she said at last, figuring that there was little else to do. Plus, it might give her an opportunity to forcibly get his undivided attention. She followed his lead, pushing herself to her feet and heading outside, into the chaos of the parade and hullabaloo that had accompanied the expo's organization.

What happened from there could only be described as a whirlwind. One moment it seemed that they were watching an opening speech of some sort; the next, they had been pulled over to a sign-up table by an over-excitable volunteer, who practically signed them up as soon as they had bumped into them. In virtually the blink of an eye, they had been split up and escorted to separate battle fields, each taking a spot at one end of their respective arenas.

For Kyle, the feeling was both exhilarating and terrifying. On the one hand, he almost felt as if this was a second chance at the public tournament that had gone so poorly in Driftveil City, and in that way he was excited to try his hand at public battling again--no tricks, no stakes, purely for fun. Yet, on the other hand, he hadn't done anything "for fun" in so long, outside of attending the dance . . . And the old woman's vision still hung heavily on his thoughts . . .

Only the sight of his approaching opponent could help to distract him from its weight. He took a moment to observe them . . .

Esen, too, felt apprehensive about participating in such a public battle, though for entirely different reasons. She had never set foot on a stage before--in fact, all of her life up to this point, up to the night of the dance, had been spent trying to avoid them. Out of the public eye, she was at her most comfortable, for it was all that she knew. That coupled with the nature of this expo . . .

Ace's daughter shuddered to think of a worse combination of factors.

Her opponent soon appeared, and it was the sight of them that made her realize the utter futility in trying to escape. So, instead, she chose to try to put aside her misgivings, scanning her target to determine which of her Pokémon to use . . .

IC - Quincy Adams/Maxie/Michael Travis/Lidiya Vasilyev/Ryan Hikari/Joker/Ethan Worth/Gavin Braner/Skye Hall/Jamie Arthur/Lucia/James Arthur/Cyan Vero/Roderick Krane/Drake Masters/Zack Furler:

"Surrender?" Adams chuckled at the word. It was a dangerous sound, a breath so light yet heavy enough that it might sink its fangs into one's throat as soon as it reached them. The Third Child unclasped her hands, slowly moving them from behind her back. "But . . . The fun's just starting."

As if on cue, two armored Déoza agents appeared on either side of her, one easily six feet tall and towering over the other two, the second a thin individual only slightly taller than Adams with a frame evoking a the form of skeleton. Both were accompanied by their own Beheeyem, and both immediately moved to fight. The larger agent's Psychic-Type pulled its hands back, cupping them together and launching a bolt of electricity toward the group, while the smaller's Analyzed the group, briefly connecting its mind with its allies. At the same moment, Adams took a step back, a small smile etched across her lips; Joker took a step forward, signaling for her allies to attack; and from atop the iron prison, Wizard lifted a hand, his eyes glowing an ethereal white.

Tapping into an untold power, the Beheeyem appeared to freeze time and warp space for what felt like eternity, but was in reality only the briefest of moments. In that span, the group divided and the halls within Havoc twisted, expanding and transforming around the fighters . . .

IC - DÉOZA AGENT NAUM RHODES - Beheeyem, Dodrio, Walrein, Throh, Venusaur, Scolipede

Gavin Braner/Lucia/Roderick Krane/Zack Furler - Central Hall, Havoc:

The white faded from Gavin's eyes at a slow pace. When everything had cleared, he found that he had more or less remained stationary, though the world around him appeared to have changed completely. The walls and floor seemed to expand forward upward and outward, with no end in sight to the place; and yet the metal of the floor seemed the same as it had been before. Around him, three others--Lucia, and two of the Liberty Agents, whose names he did not know--were recovering from the . . .

The what? The teleportation? Reality shift? He did not quite know what to call it. And with the disappearance of the others--including Jamie, Skye, Ethan, and Joker--he was not entirely sure if he could think of a proper name for what had happened, or for the mixture of emotions in his gut. But what he did know was that the tall and thin Déoza Agent stood several meters in front of them, swinging in wide circles what appeared to be five Poké Balls attached to strings. He eyed the group coldly, expression invisible behind his helmet, though his posture did more than enough to spell out the disdain with which he viewed his opponents. Behind him, his Beheeyem hovered, fingers slowly cycling through different colors.

When at last the group had all recovered, he straightened up. "Team Rocket and Team Liberty," he said, voice heavily distorted by a device within his helmet. "Two sides of the same coin, so perpetually ill at ease, so sorry in their story . . ." In a series of six flashes, his entire team had emerged onto the field before him. "And so the story will end, though not happily . . ."

Gavin slowly reached to his belt, unclipping two Poké Balls of his own, noticing that Zack, too, had chosen a Pokémon. "I dare you," he said. "To try whatever you think will work."

Zack nodded. "We won't go down so easily."

Almost in sync, the two released their Pokémon, bringing Talsim, Dothe, and Predator the Staraptor to the field.

IC - DÉOZA AGENT DRAGAN ARGALL - Beheeyem, Aegislash, Muk, Sawk, Camerupt, Diggersby

Skye Hall/Jamie Arthur/Cyan Vero/Drake Masters - Central Hall, Havoc:

Where Gavin was confused, Skye was terrified.

This mission had gone badly. This mission had gone so badly. She virtually quaked in her boots as the odd reality unfolded around her, as she realized how utterly unprepared for this kind of situation she was. It took all of her willpower to avoid collapsing to the ground in fear at the sight of the hulking, armor-clad woman striding toward her and the other three trainers around her. The Déoza Agent came to a heavy stop not far away, a wide grin spread across the exposed lower-half of her face as she observed her prey. Her Beheeyem hovered nearby; it occurred to Skye that it seemed to radiate with a burnt orange aura, a color unpleasant at best.

"Can't say I'm disappointed in my share of the crop," she said, her voice a harsh sound that almost seemed out of place even coming from her figure. The Déoza Agent threw her hands forward, launching five Poké Balls into the air. From them, five Pokémon emerged, joining her Beheeyem. "Prepare to die."

"Hope you Rockets are ready," Drake said, eyes set determinedly on his opponents as he released his Goodra.

"We're going to need to work together here, Drake," Cyan cautioned, even as he sent out his own Typhlosion and Gallade. He looked at Skye, noting her hesitance, and gave her a reassuring nod. "Let's not lose sight of who our enemy is, right?"

Skye nodded back, though still quivered in fear. Nonetheless, she lifted a Poké Ball, releasing The Human Torchic onto the field. And as the Fire-Type realized just what kinds of odds it was up against, so, too, did Skye fully understand just how out of her element she was.

IC - THIRD CHILD QUINCY ADAMS - Beheeyem, Gothitelle, Abomasnow, Sudowoodo, Banette, Mismagius

Ryan Hikari/Joker/James Arthur/Ethan Worth - Central Command, Havoc:

They were no longer in the hall. A control central buzzed all around them, littered with Magma bodies and broken computers, though the entire place seemed to waver and warp as they looked around. The unconscious form of Guinevere lay near James, the Psychic-Type having taken the Thunderbolt meant for Jamie beofre the teleportation. But it was not the surroundings that concerned Ethan, the odd reality nor the bodies--it was the disappearance of his allies, his friends. Joker may have been okay, but that was not enough, and this certainly proved true as panic began to rise in his chest.

Skye? Ethan looked around. Gavin? Lucia! Jamie! "Adams!" he called. "What did you do!?"

"Save your energy," Joker snapped to his left, though she, too, appeared somewhat unnerved as she rubbed her head. "Something tells me we're going to need all the strength we can muster . . ."

"I'd say that's an accurate assumption." The four trainers looked up. The iron prison holding Maxie, Vasilyev, and Travis swung like a pendulum from a massive chain above; from a nearby balcony, Adams looked down at them, Wizard floating just above her shoulder. "Though, to answer your question, Worth, it's simple: I called back-up and split you up. I wasn't about to make the same mistake as Hayes, after all." Ryan tensed at this. Adams chuckled, and smirked at Joker's reaction to her next comment: "Or Leviathan."

The psychic pulse sent by Joker dissipated harmlessly around the Ford Agent. Adams jumped over the edge, letting her Pokémon carry her to safety. When she had landed, she tossed the remaining five Poké Balls on her belt, releasing her team.

"But enough with that," she said. "You're not going to win tonight. Even if you beat me, those three--" She gestured to the cage. "--are all dead." With a snap of her fingers, the container vanished, teleported away by Wizard. Adams laughed. "Just like that--three ants, gone into the volcano. What fun!" Her eyes narrowed. "And once we're done here, you four can join them."

"I can't believe you . . ." Ethan growled, his hands shaking. He could only stare at Adams for several moments, before forcing himself to send out Kada--and, after a moment's hesitation, Suya. "Normally I don't threaten people . . . but you need to pay for this, Quincy. All of it."

"Try me," she replied. "Use as many Pokémon as you want. You're still going to lose."

"No," Joker said. She held a hand out, sending forth Seer. "I only need one. I suggest you prepare yourself, you insolent brat."

OOC: Yo Parugi... bit of inconsistency between your IC labels and the ICs themselves as far as which groups Jamie and Lucia are in. ;)

IC: Ryan

"Sounds fun..." Ryan said, his voice trailing off as Sonja walked past him. Next thing he knew, he was trailing behind Sonja, Ray, and Loki. It wasn't until they turned a corner at the end of the hall that Ryan realized he was still carrying his laundry basket. He came to a halt at the crossroads and glanced in the direction Sonja and Ray had gone. "I-I'm just gonna need to fold this laundry first," he stammered, quickly turning down the opposite hall.

He doubted this was the correct way to his dorm, but his mind was in too much of a daze for him to care. Did that really just happen? he asked himself as his legs mechanically moved one foot in front of the other. Part of him wanted to just throw his laundry basket down and run back to Sonja and apologize for everything. But in his mind's eye, he had pictured such a scene happening without Ray being present. If it had just been Sonja and Loki he'd run into, things might have gone a bit differently. Of course, he doubted Sonja would grant him the chance to talk with her alone, not after the dance.

Ryan blinked. His legs had carried him to an unfamiliar wing of the Alamo. Even though he had been a Liberty Agent for over a year now, a good chunk of that time had been spent out in the field, and so he hadn't quite learned now to navigate all of the Alamo's halls. Berating himself for getting lost -- and not wanting to admit that Ray had done the exact same thing the other day -- he set about trying to find a sign that would tell him where he was.

IC: Cero may have hated Lumiose, but he couldn't hate a challenge. With the exception of Leviathan, all the life he could remember had been improvement after improvement. It was time he put his growth--and his team's--to the test. As well, he could never honor Team Magma's name without an accomplishment that was totally his. Buitre had surely dealt greater damage to Leviathan's seal than any other Pokémon, and she had claimed the trophy, but the victory was ultimately decided by all the trainers involved. The only way Cero could form his own identity would be to add something unique to his name.

So, taking care to make himself and his companions presentable, he signed up for the tournament and entered his corner. Eager to discover the identity of his fated enemy, he looked towards the opposing end of the arena.

He blinked.

"...Fancy that," Cero called to Kyle.

OOC: More ICs at a later date, but, right now, I'm in pre-ORAS hype. =P

-==IC: Ryan - Tyranitar, Porygon... Z==-

Ryan stood there for a moment, unsure what actually had happened, between the splitting and... what happened after. A speechless Ryan simply stood there for a few minutes, before he clenched his fists, utterly a low growl.

"You witch... You nasty, evil, witch..." Ryan slowly said, as he looked straight at Adams, and then held his hand out, his action devoid of any mercy at all. "You... Are going to pay..." Ryan growled, as his Porygon-2 began to glow, having slowly gathered enough energy over the last few fights to finally evolve.

"Porygon 2... Evolve!" Ryan yelled out, as the Porygon 2 appeared to glitch for a moment, as it rearranged itself into a new, even sleeker form, and then glared at Adams too. Ryan then looked over at James and the others, and frowned.

"We need a plan. She'll just use our attacks against us, if we attack wildly." Ryan mentioned, before he turned his look back to glaring at Adams. "Our first goal, getting rid of that Arceus forsaken Beheeyem."

-==IC: Lucia - Bayleef, Gothita==-

Lucia looked around in disbelief as everything happened, and then frowned, as she sent out her Bayleef and Gothita.

"I don't know what happened, but we have to fight." Lucia mumbled to Gavin, as she thought for a moment.

"Baya, Poison Powder on that Beheeyem." Lucia said, recalling that the Beheeyems were pretty annoying all the time.

"Gothita, COnfusion on Throh." Lucia called out,as the two Pokemon launched off their respective attacks.

OOC:

Nickname: None

Species: Porygon-Z

Trainer: Ryan Hikari

Appearance: Slight change for the colours; the blue is a faded blue of sorts, with a hint of black in it. The evolution didn't change anything, colour wise.

Personality: Since the Porygon family are programmed Pokemon, this Pokemon shares the same type of personality that "Black" has. This carried over even into it's evolution, albeit with a change in its coding to match Ryan's new personality.

Ability: Analytic

Specialty: Special Attack ++, Speed +

Known Moves: PsyBeam, Signal Beam, Discharge, Tri Attack, Hyper Beam, Conversion 2.

IC: (Roderick, Wattling, Harmonics)

Roderick was surprised to say the least with Wizard's power. He had been training with Harmonics for a while now, and he had never seen anything like what he had just seen. That aside however, there was the matter of the new opponent before him.

So you dare me to try anything that will work? Roderick thought to himself. He had a trick up his sleeve that he wanted to try out, and would certainly help if it worked. But if he showed his ace too early, it might just end up for naught. For now he decided to throw out an attack out and see how the enemy would respond.

"Wattling, use Thunder Wave, Harmonics use Psychic!"

The two Pokémon complied the former sending a weak bolt at the Venusaur while the latter used his power to try and smash the Vensaur down with his Psychic force.

IC: (Jamie, Pelleas, Lucan)

Being targeted by an attack from a Pokémon was never fun as, considering depending on the strength of the attack, they could easily spell serious injury or even death. What was just as unpleasant, was seeing a childhood playmate take the blow for you.

"Guinevere..."

The Psychic who protected her disappeared with Wizard's power, but the Psychic who had harmed the former had not. This would not go unpunished.

But before her thoughts could turn to anger and desire for justice, her eyes caught sight of Skye. Now up to this point, she hadn't thought much of her. She had been a part of the group of morons, and now she was part of their group. Somehow... she'd have to look over the rules to see how they had swung that so quickly. But now she was a member of her group and thus in part, her responsibility. And it occurred to Jamie, that this was likely the first time the other girl had been in a fight with someone who was actively trying to kill her.

She pulled out a Pokeball and released the Metagross inside it.

"Tristan, guard Ms. Hall with your life. Pelleas, Lucan prepare to fight."

Wait then who will be your defense? Tristan asked concern covering his face.

"I'll stay by her the best I can," she said walking a few feet closer to Skye. "But you must promise me to rescue her first, should the need arise."

....Yes, Milady.

"Now Lucan, start with Acid Armor, followed by an Ice Beam on the rabbit. Pelleas advance with Aerial Ace and strike the blue one."

The two complied, the former glowing brighter as his shivers began to slow down with a bit of courage found in stronger defenses. After doing so, the two ice cream cones launched an Ice Beam towards the Diggersby The Heracross on the other hand, spread his wings, and flew low across the ground to strike at the Sawk.

IC: (James, Lancelot, Percival, Guinevere (unconscious))

"Guinevere!"

James had not been caught off guard by the appearance of her reinforcements. What he had been caught of guard by was the sudden Thunderbolt one of them sent, and that Jamie appeared to be the target. Before he could even shout, Guinevere warped from where she was and appeared in front of her, taking the blow for her in the worst possible way. James had not been able to do anything until Wizard's power subsided, but immediately afterwards he ran to her and kneeled by her. She was most definitely breathing, but she was not recovering from that blow soon. Silently, James revealed her Pokeball and returned her to it.

Lancelot was visibly mad, but he channeled his anger into using Swords Dance. The person who had done the deed was not there, so he'd have to settle for the person in charge.

"Agreed," James said to Ryan. "The problem will be getting to it," he continued as he stood back up. He glanced towards Percival who upon making eye contact with James, vanished from sight.

IC: Dandy

So it seemed Colwtte wasn't in the mood to talk at this hour. "Ok. If you ever want to talk about it just let me know. The Dandy's always got your back." He gave a wink to her to try and ease her mood. Didn't to try at least.

He looked at Jayron and George as he heared George say that they can stay at his place. "You're not too bad officer. I think I'm starting to like ya. Thanks the offer by the way." Unlike Jayron who used Pokeballs to keep his Pokemon out of the elements, he preferred to let them roam free and feel the elements that humanity goes through.

-==IC: Colette==-

Colette rolled her eyes at Dandy, and simply said nothing in response. The others were seemingly ready to go, as Jimmy showed back up, so Colette wordlessly followed George and the others, as they led the way back to George's car, having already retreated her Pokemon. Colette frowned slightly as they approached the car, as she realized that they'd all have to head back... Which included Dandy.

Oh great... Colette thought, pushing that thought aside, as she tried to not let this guy unnerve her.

OOC: Mild bunnying for the sake of progressing things.

IC: Jayron/George/Alexa

Jayron shook his head at Dandy's... shenanigans, for want of a better term. He didn't need to read auras to know that Colette was seriously annoyed, but Dandy didn't seem capable of taking the hint. With a sigh, the Liberty Executive counted the seats in the car and quickly realized there wasn't enough room.

"Sorry, buddy," he said to Lucario, pulling out his Pokéball. "But I don't think George would appreciate his car smelling like wet fur."

Jimmy stepped out of the car and realized that even with all the Pokémon recalled, there still wouldn't be enough seats. "Looks like I'm walking back to the lab again," he said, chuckling at his unfortunate luck. "But it looks like you've got your hands full with these kids, George."

"It's the least I can do for them after they saved my Alexa," the captain of the police said. "I'll see you at the office in the morning."

Jimmy nodded, then turned to Peter. "What do you say, old friend? Shall we head back to the lab to run some more tests, or should we call it a night?"

"Go home if you want, Jimmy," the meteorologist said. "I'm just going to do a bit of fieldwork."

"Suit yourself," Jimmy said with a shrug, opening up an umbrella to shield himself from the rain. "Just don't go pulling another all-nighter."

The officer started to walk off, but George stopped him. "Jimmy," he said. "I can't just let you walk home in the rain. Let me give you a ride; we can squeeze four in the back for a bit."

And so Jayron found himself squished between Colette and Dandy in the backseat, with Alexa and Amber sitting on Colette's lap. Dandy was forced to recall Razorface, although he left his Vulpix to curl up in his lap while his Joltik remained perched on his shoulder. Needless to say, the back of the car was very cramped. Jayron wasn't feeling any more comfortable knowing that he was the only thing between Dandy and Colette. He could practically feel the irritation emanating from Colette, as well as the smug confidence seeping from Dandy -- and that was without activating his aura powers.

From the front seat, Jimmy turned around to face the trainers. "That was some battle," he said. "Your Pokémon were impressive enough, but those powers of yours are something else. I had no idea you were aura wielders. Blocking that Surf attack and taking out the Feraligatr... those were some amazing feats."

Pinned as he was between Colette and Dandy, Jayron gave his best attempt at a shrug. "Our Pokémon did most of the work, really."

"But no ordinary trainer could have handled that Feraligatr so easily," Jimmy said. "Have you had aura powers from birth?"

Jayron shrugged again. "Technically, yes, but I did a lot of training with Lucario." This wasn't the first time the Liberty executive had met someone who was utterly fascinated with his aura powers and bombarded him with more questions than a Pokédex has entries. However, he'd never had to answer those questions while trapped between an insufferable flirter and his unfortunate victim. Jimmy's questions persisted throughout the duration of the car ride. All the while, Colette remained silent, doing everything she could to avoid catching Dandy's eye.

At long last they reached Jimmy's home. After an enthusiastic goodbye, the police officer thanked George for the ride and stepped out of the car. George glanced at the the four kids crammed in the back. "Colette, I'm sorry you had to ride all this way with Alexa and Amber in your lap. Do you want to come sit in the front?"

Colette frowned at the front seat, which was right in front of Dandy. "Thanks, but I'm more than happy to stay back here with Alexa," she said. "Why don't we let the new guy sit up front?"

With a grin at the aura girl (a grin which was not returned), Dandy picked up Sun Hound and walked to the front of the car. Click scuttled about on his shoulder during the brief walk through the rain. Meanwhile, Jayron scooted over to where Dandy had been sitting and Alexa took the middle seat.

With Jimmy gone, the rest of the car ride was remarkably silent. Jayron stared out the window. The sun had long since gone down, casting the island in a darkness not even the stars could penetrate. Thankfully the electromagnetic interference hadn't affected the streetlights, although the artificial light only seemed to heighten the shadows that lurked just beyond the road. Now that he was free from Jimmy's questions, Jayron's mind started to fill with questions of his own. Was it wise to leave this electromagnetic phenomenon unchecked overnight? Assuming this phenomenon had driven the Feraligatr mad, how many other Pokemon might have been affected? And what of the distress call Team Liberty had received? It had come from the southern part of the island, so it couldn't have possibly been Dandy's ship. But that meant there was someone else still out there.

First thing tomorrow, we'll have to head south, Jayron decided. We've learned all that we can from the city, and if we don't make haste, I'm afraid there might not be anyone left to save.

"Not too often anymore, really..." Zach replied to Madison with a shrug, as he looked over at Olivia, and thought for a moment.

"Well, not too much to explain about, really, though I could've sworn you might've met my cousin Anna one time..." Zach said, unsure about that now, since it had been a while, after all.

IC - Sonja Baron - The Alamo, Halls:

Sonja looked at Ryan as he left. "Catch up whenever you can!" she called, though couldn't be sure as to whether or not he had heard her. With a shrug to Ray, she continued toward the arenas.

It did not take long to get there. Once again she and Ray found themselves at a crossroads, given the option of choosing one of several specialized arenas--an Ice field, a Meadow field, a Volcanic field, or a Water field.

"I'll let you pick," she said, leaning against Loki as she contemplated the options herself.

IC - Kyle Eston - Lumiose City, Streets:

Kyle couldn't say for sure whether he was surprised or not by this coincidence. Either way, he wasn't one to complain. He gave Cero a short salute and a friendly nod. "Glad you made it," he said.

At that moment, the battle announcer stepped up to the field. "Attention, trainers," he said. "As per Battle Expo rules, this will be a traditional singles match. Each side will send out one Pokémon at a time, using no more than three Pokémon each." Both trainers nodded. "If you both are ready, you may begin."

Kyle grabbed a Poké Ball from his belt. "Hope you're ready!" he called, and with a flick of his wrist had sent Lyxek, his Fraxure, onto the field.

IC - DÉOZA AGENT NAUM RHODES - Beheeyem, Dodrio, Walrein, Throh, Venusaur, Scolipede

Gavin Braner (Dothe/Dusknoir, Talsim/Alakazam)/Lucia (Bayleef, Gothita)/Roderick Krane (Wattling/Rotom, Harmonics/Beheeyem)/Zack Furler (Predator/Staraptor) - Central Hall, Havoc:

Bayleef: Poison Powder > Beheeyem

Gothita: Confusion > Throh

Rotom: Thunder Wave > Venusaur

Beheeyem: Psychic > Venusaur

Alakazam: Disable

Dusknoir: Ice Punch > Dodrio

Staraptor: Close Combat > Walrein

Gavin nodded to Lucia. "Dothe, Ice Punch on Dodrio!" he called. "Talsim, prepare a Disable, on my mark!"

"Predator, use Close Combat on Walrein!" Zack ordered.

The thin Déoza Agent chuckled as he watched his opponents mobilize before him. "Team," he said, that same, distorted tone of lethality lingering on his voice. "Respond."

Just like that, his Pokémon charged forward to meet their attackers.

Beheeyem floated just on the outer peripheral of the poisonous cloud, raising a hand forward. Its eyes glowed as a protective blue light surrounded itself and its teammates, the Safeguard ensuring that such tricks would not work against it--at least for a split second, as in the next instant Gavin had directed Talsim to Disable the other Psychic-Type's protective field. Afterward, it flicked a finger forward, directing a Signal Beam at its Grass-Type opponent.

Venusaur tensed up as the Thunder Wave paralyzed its body, rendering it temporarily immobile. Harmonics's Psychic quickly followed, knocking the Grass-Type back several steps and clearly injuring it. With little it could do physically, the Seed Pokémon settled on releasing a Sweet Scent into the room, concentrated enough that it would hopefully affect most of its enemies. At the same time, its Scolipede ally noted the trouble it was in, and with a shrill screech charged toward Harmonics with a Megahorn attack.

Throh had charged forward, only to be stopped in its tracks by Gothita's Confusion. It appeared to endure the attack, though made no further effort to move for the time being, merely closing its eyes and concentrating.

Though Dothe had slipped into the shadows in his attempt to attack the Dodrio, its watchful nature proved keen enough to sense the direction from which he would attack. Thus it was able to dodge his Ice Punch, dancing around the larger Pokémon with frightening speed before lunging forward, a glossy coat of energy appearing around it with the movement. In an instant it had landed a Mirrored Ice Punch on Dothe, knocking him backwards and with a partially-frozen midsection.

Walrein wasted no time in launching a stream of Ice Beam attacks at the approaching Predator, though the Flying-Type managed to dodge around these with ease as it closed in. The attacks came to an abrupt halt as the Staraptor landed a solid hit on the Ice Break Pokémon, darting around the larger opponent and slashing at it each time. Though these stunned it for several moments, the Ice-Water-Type eventually managed to steel itself, and then retaliated with an Iron Tail attack that knocked Predator several feet away, grimacing in pain from the impact.

Beheeyem: Safeguard (Disabled), Signal Beam > Bayleef

Venusaur: Paralyzed, Sweet Scent > All

Scolipede: Megahorn > Harmonics

Throh: Halted

Dodrio: Mirror Move (Ice Punch) > Dothe

Walrein: Ice Beam, Iron Tail > Predator

IC - DÉOZA AGENT DRAGAN ARGALL - Beheeyem, Aegislash, Muk, Sawk, Camerupt, Diggersby

Skye Hall (Torchic)/Jamie Arthur (Pelleas/Heracross, Lucan/Vanilluxe, Tristan/Metagross)/Cyan Vero (Typhlosion, Gallade)/Drake Masters (Goodra) - Central Hall, Havoc:

Vanilluxe: Ice Beam > Diggersby

Heracross: Aerial Ace > Sawk

Typhlosion: Flamethrower > Aegislash

Gallade: Double Team, Psycho Cut > Muk

Goodra: Aqua Tail > Camerupt

"Typhlosion, Flamethrower!" Cyan called. "Gallade, Double Team and Psycho Cut!"

On it! Gallade replied. The Blade Pokémon charged forward, psychic powers working to create illusionary copies of itself nearby. Typhlosion reared his head back, gathering forth powerful flames within its jaws.

"Goodra, take out that Camerupt with Aqua Tail!" Drake said. The Dragon-Type nodded and moved as fast as it could, leaping up and preparing a powerful Water-Type attack for its target.

The Déoza Agent responded swiftly. "Muk, Acid Armor!" she ordered. "Diggersby, power through with a Bounce and Hammer Arm combination! Camerupt, intercept with Earth Power!"

In roughly that order:

The Muk dissolved into a puddle at the exact moment that Gallade and his clones would have struck. As the Blade Pokémon regained his bearings, the Poison-Type suddenly reformed behind it, launching off a Gunk Shot straight into the small of Gallade's back. The blow knocked him forward, though he managed to roll back onto his feet using the attack's momentum.

With a wide grin across his face, the Diggersby leaped toward Lucan, using its massive ears to cover its face as it plowed through the Ice Beam attack. Though the beams appeared to damage it, it did not slow down, and as it got within range of its attacker its left ear began to glow, coming down hard in a powerful Hammer Arm attack.

Sawk waited, watching Pelleas with a cold eye. As soon as the Heracross had struck, dealing damage to Sawk in the process, the Fighting-Type's eyes flashed, and it locked its arms around the beetle's horn. He spun on the spot, hurling his opponent away with Counter.

The plume of fire slammed harmlessly against Aegislash's shield, appearing to deal little to no damage to the Royal Blade Pokémon. As soon as the assault had subsided, it lunged forward, shifting back into attack mode and swinging at Typhlosion with Sacred Sword. The Fire-Type barely managed to dodge, and even then still suffered a noticeable hit from the phantom sword.

With a roar of challenge, Camerupt prompted the ground beneath Goodra to explode before its attack could connect, sending the Dragon-Type flying into the air. It managed to right itself and land on its feet, though now watched the camel with a far more cautious eye.

The Beheeyem, meanwhile, hovered back, watching and waiting, devising a Nasty Plot in its head. As it scanned the field, it noticed the lone trainer contributing nothing to its opponents efforts. And with a maniacal little giggle, it summoned another bolt of energy in its hand, launching it toward Skye and The Human Torchic . . .

Muk: Acid Armor, Gunk Shot > Gallade

Diggersby: Bounce/Hammer Arm > Lucan

Sawk: Counter > Pelleas

Aegislash: King's Shield, Sacred Sword > Typhlosion

Camerupt: Earth Power > Goodra

Beheeyem: Nasty Plot, Thunderbolt > Skye/Torchic

IC - THIRD CHILD QUINCY ADAMS - Beheeyem/Wizard, Gothitelle/Doll, Abomasnow/Ent, Sudowoodo/Chan, Banette/Voodoo, Mismagius/Witch

Ryan Hikari (Tyranitar, Porygon-Z)/Joker (Seer/Alakazam)/James Arthur (Lancelot/Scizor, Percival/Chandelure)/Ethan Worth (Suya/Victreebel, Kada/Torterra - Central Command, Havoc:

Ethan was about to reply when a sharp laugh emerged from the other side of the field. He shifted his attention back to Adams just in time for Kada to pull him out of the way of a Shadow Ball from Witch. "You talking doesn't mean I'm waiting!" Adams called. And she was right, for her other Pokémon were also moving.

Doll's eyes glowed as she focused on Ent, using Helping Hand to power up the Frosted Tree Pokémon's attacks. He took full advantage of this, taking the opportunity to launch a flurry of Ice Beam attacks at Suya and Kada, his recognition and dislike of Ethan evidently fueling the assault on his Pokémon.

Chan hung back towards Adams, swaying back and forth on the balls of his feet, seeming to wait for something. Appearing to find that something, the Rock-Type swung its fists into the ground, prompting an explosion of dozens of spiky rocks from the ground around hismelf, Wizard, and Adams, as if trying to hit something that may or may not have been there . . .

Voodoo floated forward, high above the battle field, and scanned the ground for suitable targets. Noting Lancelot and Tyranitar's presence, he gathered up dark fire in his hands, raining Will-o-Wisps down upon these two enemies in an attempt to weaken them.

Witch appeared before Joker and Seer, chuckling as they both readied themselves to fight. With a suitable cackle, she gathered up dark energy, launching it forth in a sphere at Seer.

Meanwhile, Wizard, too, remained by Adams's side; and as he scanned the field, he suddenly focused on Porygon-Z, eyes glowing as he attempted to mark the Normal-Type with Miracle Eye.

Gothitelle/Doll: Helping Hand > Abomasnow

Abomasnow/Ent: Ice Beam > Suya, Kada

Sudowoodo/Chan: Stone Edge > Percival

Banette/Voodoo: Will-o-Wisp > Lancelot, Tyranitar

Mismagius/Witch: Shadow Ball > Seer

Beheeyem/Wizard: Miracle Eye > Porygon-Z

OOC: Now would be a good time to mention that I'll let you guys count these battles as 3. And I don't know if I ever gave that same confirmation for the Sootopolis Battle against Groudon--but same deal there.

IC: Cero had a choice, but there was only one option.

He unclipped and threw the ball of his favorite, producing Aridez and the Hippopotas' sandstorm. Both hugged the field with the resolution that Cero felt. The hippopotamus and master each sized up their opponent as the storm enshrouded the combatants per their will. In fact, Cero could sense a greater unanimity of feeling between them than ever before. There was nothing to lose in a tournament, unlike battling in the wild or against Leviathan, but there was everything to gain.

Yet Cero intuited that something was off. Aridez had a love beyond love for his ability to assert superiority, whether through swaggering maneuvers, proud grunts, or bared teeth; however, before the Fraxure, Aridez was quiet and motionless.

Was he scared?

It did not matter, Cero decided in that heartbeat. All that mattered was proving that there was no cause for fear.

"Aridez, Curse."

The Hippopotas let loose an eldritch groan, mystic runes lining its body.

IC: Dack/Madison/Luke/Palmer

"Anna, huh?" Madison said, trying to think. "Not sure if I know her, although the name does sound a little familiar... would she be about your age?"

Dack sighed as he opened the door to the restaurant and motioned for the others to go inside. "We can talk about this once we have a table," he said impatiently.

Palmer went up to the waitress. "We need a table for..." he quickly counted the heads. "Eight."

"Right this way, please," the waitress said, leading them toward the back of the restaurant, where a sizable table awaited them.

As they walked, Luke muttered to Dack, "We don't know an Anna, do we?"

Dack shrugged. "You forget, I was gone for three years with Team Rocket." He chose a seat next to Madison and stared at the menu. But his mind was elsewhere, focused on how they could best defend the city from Hannah's attack.

Whereas Dack was worried about the coming battle, Madison was worried about the current one, between Zach's friends and Dack's friends. It didn't matter how good of a strategy they came up with, if they couldn't work together, it would all be for naught.

As for Luke, well, he was just worried that Hannah might decide to attack before they had gotten their second course.

IC: Ryan

Today was not Ryan's day. Not only had he been incredibly stupid the night before, but he had completely butchered his chance to apologize to Sonja. And now he had gone and gotten himself lost in the base he'd called home for a year. Well, to be fair, he had been in Fortree for the past six months. But even then, he couldn't believe he had gotten so lost when he had only been trying to get back to his room.

That was when he noticed the yellow tape, sealing off one of the doors. Ryan blinked. He hadn't recognized it because it was such a mess, but this was the R&D department. Stricken with curiosity, he ducked under the tape and looked around at the room he had been in just a day before. It looked like a tornado had passed through. Books lay crumpled on the ground, a few decorative vases had been shattered. And more police tape lined the door that led further into the labs -- the testing area, to be specific.

"What happened here?" he muttered. Ordinarily, Ryan wasn't one for sneaking and entering. But he remembered how worried Sonja had been during the dance. After Opelucid and what had happened to Team Galactic, she had felt that they should be on their toes -- as in ready for an attack, not on their toes twirling about on the dance floor. The Liberty agent frowned. He knew Sonja's sister had psychic powers; could Sonja herself have felt some sort of premonition of whatever had happened here?

Steeling himself, Ryan set his laundry basket down and quietly opened the door to the testing area, peering inside. A flight of stairs led downward, into a dimly lit area. Glancing around to make sure no one was watching him, Ryan slid around the police tape and through the door. The hairs stood up on the back of his neck as a cool draft blew through the partially open door. Slowly and quietly, he made his way down the stairs, which were dotted with drops of blood.

Halfway down the stairs, Ryan paused, stricken with the sudden feeling that he shouldn't be here. It took every ounce of effort to keep going. When he reached the bottom, he saw a gaping hole where a door should be. Large scraps of metal twisted -- presumably the remains of said door -- lay at his feet. A sign labeled the place as "Training Center." But what caught Ryan's attention was what lay beyond.

If a tornado had passed through the R&D lobby, a nuclear bomb had gone off in the Training Center. Deep gashes and burn marks lined the walls. But perhaps the strangest feature was the sight of two metal thrones sitting side by side. Ryan felt his heart clench up as he recalled the throne Kane had used in Opelucid. Had something similar happened here? Whatever it was, it couldn't have been natural.

Ryan suddenly became aware that his hands were shaking. His legs felt weak. As he turned around and rushed back up the stairs, one thought was on his mind: Sonja was right.

IC - Kyle Eston - Lumiose City, Kalos:

It would have been nice to say that where Cero found some sort of poetic meaning in the Battle Expo, Kyle could find only the joy of battle. But that was not necessarily true. Time and again, seemingly meaningless matches had proven instrumental in deciding the outcomes of hitherto unforeseen situations. So it was understandable that the Liberty Agent was long past the point of taking things easy--as much as he wanted to. Whether for fun or for real, he would give it his all.

"Lyxek," Kyle said, lifting an arm to shield his face from the growing sandstorm. "Use Dragon Dance, followed by Dragon Claw!"

The Axe Jaw Pokémon swayed on the spot, sizing up the hippo before him as his movements became smoother, more elegant. Then, with a roar of challenge, the Dragon-Type ran forward, leaping at Aridez and swiping with a set of glowing claws . . .

IC: The Seatons

"I did?" Olivia asked while walking over to the table. "I mean.... Let's see, who have I met that you knew first?" she began, trying to recover the memories of Anna, if they existed. "There was Ray and his sister..... Who else...."

"You know, it's a little unreasonable to assume everyone from the same city knows each other." Aspen started. "I'm pretty sure Snowpoint isn't some tiny village with fifty people living there... And there's probably more than one Anna there too." he reasoned. "What was her last name, then?"

"Well, seems you three must know at least a few people back from your hometown." Dahlia said. Right now, if they kept on this one topic, everyone's tempers would defuse and they'd get along. She didn't entirely believe that thought, but at the moment, it was the only viable solution she could think of. "So what other friends are waiting for you back at home?" she asked, a pleasant smile on her face.

-==IC: Jenny==-

Jenny nodded, as she got on her Xtransceiver, and then quickly called Ray, giving him the details.

"Right; I think Ray said that he'd meet us at the beach." Jenny explained, as she hung up, and looked around, pretty impressed at the scenery.

-==IC: Ray==-

"Hmm..." Ray mused over the options, as he thought over what each would mean.

"Meadow or Oceanic would probably be best; after all, it'd likely be too hot in the Volcanic, and too cold in the Ice field." Ray mused, as he chuckled slightly.

IC: Evan Tierra, En Route to Four Island

"The beach?", Evan said, smiling, "I think we can make a spectacular entrance there! For now let's just enjoy the ride while it lasts."

Gnip growled softly as she continued to glide, bobbing her body side to side. Evan looked upon the vast ocean, simply stunned by the view. He mused to himself that things like what happened in Nimbasa and other places, made such sights even more impressive.

"On that note....." Evan thought.

"I think we should tell Ray about what happened in Nimbasa.", Evan said sorta nervously, "I think he has a right to know. What about you?"

Evan felt sorta foolish about what he said. But things did seem to go a little faster than anticipated in Nimbasa. He still loved Jenny with his heart and soul, but he had to also take it slow too, like a good dance.....

IC - Sonja Baron - The Alamo, Practice Arenas: "Oceanic it is," Sonja said, leading the way into the proper tunnel. They emerged in a large pool-like arena, not unlike the battlefield in many a Water-Type Gym. Sturdy platforms jutted out from fairly deep water, providing a field perfect for either land or water-based combat--or both, depending on preferences.

Sonja wasted no time in moving to the far end of the field, Loki following her and jumping forward into the fight zone. "You know," Sonja said. "I haven't gotten a chance to use most of my team in a while." She bounced another Poké Ball in her hand. "Why don't we do a Double Battle, four Pokémon each?"

IC - DÉOZA AGENT NAUM RHODES - Beheeyem, Dodrio, Walrein, Throh, Venusaur, Scolipede

Gavin Braner (Dothe/Dusknoir, Talsim/Alakazam)/Lucia (Bayleef, Gothita)/Roderick Krane (Wattling/Rotom, Harmonics/Beheeyem)/Zack Furler (Predator/Staraptor) - Central Hall, Havoc:

Venusaur: ParalyzedSweet Scent > All

Dodrio: Mirror Move (Ice Punch) > Dothe

Walrein: Ice Beam, Iron Tail > Predator

There were a number of pressing matters at hand, but the Sweet Scent was making Gavin too light headed to effectively weigh them all. He pulled his jacket sleeve over his hand and covered his mouth, noting the subtle effects that it appeared to be having on his team. For the moment, he pushed this aside, opting to deal with it after assessing the current damage.

"Dothe!" Gavin yelled. "Are you okay?" The Ghost-Type looked to him and nodded, a grimace of pain accompanying the motion despite his best efforts to stop it. Though not convinced, his trainer could see the determination in Dothe's expression, and so sighed. "Alright. Stay back for a minute, though. Talsim!" The Psychic-Type teleported back to his trainer. "Disable that Dodrio!"

"Not on your life," Rhodes growled. "Dodrio, Agility followed by Feint Attack,"

The three-headed bird rushed forward, vanishing against the backdrop of battle before Talsim could get a lock on it. Instinctively, the Psychic-Type moved to teleport away, though the Dodrio had reappeared before he could do so, slamming into him. Gavin knew that the drop in evasiveness from Vanusaur's Sweet Scent had certainly not helped there. Still, all was not lost, as Dothe took the opportunity to fire a Will-o-Wisp at the Triple-Bird Pokémon, severely burning it and forcing it back.

Talsim pushed himself to his feet, taking a moment to Recover from the attack. Seeing this, the Déoza Agent threw a hand forward. "Walrein, hit it while it's down!" Rhodes ordered. The Ice Break Pokémon snarled, gathering an Ice Beam attack in its mouth and launching it at the enemy. With little time to respond, Gavin reached for Talsim's Poké Ball, hoping to recall the Psychic-Type before the attack could hit.

As luck would have it, he did not need to.

With a short whistle, Zack had sent Predator forward, the Staraptor conjuring up a Tailwind behind it to drive it forward. It managed to get between Talsim and Walrein in the nick of time, throwing up a Protect that dispersed the Ice Beam into nothingness. With a thankful nod, Talsim rose, fully healed now, and teleported away, looking for a new position to attack from. Predator took flight again, aiming to attack again, but was struck mid-movement by a Power Whip from the now-risen Venusaur . . .

Venusaur: Sweet Scent > Talsim, Dothe

Dodrio: Agility/Feint Attack > Talsim

Dothe: Will-o-Wisp > Dodrio

Walrein: Ice Beam > Talsim

Predator: Tailwind > Allies, self

Predator: Protect > Talsim, self

Venusaur: Power Whip > Predator

IC - DÉOZA AGENT DRAGAN ARGALL - Beheeyem, Aegislash, Muk, Sawk, Camerupt, Diggersby

Skye Hall (Torchic)/Jamie Arthur (Pelleas/Heracross, Lucan/Vanilluxe, Tristan/Metagross)/Cyan Vero (Typhlosion, Gallade)/Drake Masters (Goodra) - Central Hall, Havoc:

Muk: Acid Armor, Gunk Shot > Gallade

Aegislash: King's Shield, Sacred Sword > Typhlosion

Camerupt: Earth Power > Goodra

"Gallade, Typhlosion, back to me!" Cyan called. The Pokémon did so, stepping away from their targets. "Alright; that didn't seem to go over that well, so let's switch it up. Typhlosion, Extrasensory! Gallade--you know what to do!"

"Goodra," Drake said. "Aim again and use Power Whip!"

"You can keep trying, kids--nothing's going to work," Argall said. "Muk, Mud Bomb! Aegislash, Night Slash! Camerupt, use Curse and Take Down!"

Don't be so sure about that, Cyan thought, smiling in amusement as he watched Argall's half-hidden reaction to what transpired next. Typhlosion breathed a plume of fire forward, disintegrating the Mud Bomb before it could hit, and then sent out a psychic wave that struck Muk and momentarily stunned it. Even when it managed to send out a Gunk Shot, cutting off the Extrasensory, it did little to damage the Fire-Type, who merely dodged out of the way.

Gallade charged at Aegislash. The Ghost-Type responded by switching into Attack Forme, and then swinging its bladed body at the Blade Pokémon--only to find that it had cut through thin air. Gallade had teleported behind it, and using his opponent's concentration on attacking to his advantage, unleashed a Will-o-Wisp at it, burning it and sharply hindering its attack capabilities. Aegislash whirled around just in time to catch the Gallade's side with Fury Cutter before he teleported away again, though the attack did not do as much damage as it might have before.

Goodra opted to stay back this time, launching a whip-like hand at Camerupt from afar. With an animalistic bellow, the Eruption Pokémon summoned phantom runes across its body, which heightened its defenses and offenses and gave it leave to charge forward with Take Down. It barreled through the Power Whip attack--which merely glanced off of its head--and continued straight toward its attacker, slamming into it. This time, however, Goodra was ready, and as soon as the attack connected, it slammed a glowing fist down on the Camerupt's head, Countering the attack. The Fire-Ground Type slammed face-first into the floor, knocking Goodra back in the process.

Argall took a moment to compose herself, and then merely chuckled. "Nice moves," she said, watching as her Pokémon all struggled with their new injuries. "But you just got lucky that round . . ."

Muk: Mud Bomb > Typhlosion

Typhlosion: Dodge/Flamethrower, Extrasensory > Muk

Muk: Gunk Shot > Typhlosion (Missed)

Aegislash: Night Slash > Gallade (Missed)

Gallade: Teleport, Will-o-Wisp > Aegislash

Aegislash: Fury Cutter > Gallade

Goodra: Power Whip > Camerupt

Camerupt: Curse/Take Down > Goodra

Goodra: Counter > Camerupt

OOC: Species: Gothorita

Nickname: Gothara

Trainer: Lucia

Appearance: Same as a normal Gothorita, except with the ribbons on her head dyed red.

Gender: Female

Personality: At first cheery, but then overcome by a sense of grief and betrayal, this Gothorita is not as it once was, and is much more brutal in its attacks.

Ability: Competitive

Specialty: Gothara has a higher special attack than normal, and a slight edge in speed and attack.

Known Moves: Heal Pulse (EGG), Dark Pulse (EGG), Psybeam, Feint Attack

EXP: 7

-==IC: Lucia - Bayleef, Gothita==-

Lucia frowned, unsure of what might work, as Baya got hit by the Signal Beam. Gothy looked over in worry, as the Bayleef slumped toward the ground; not out of the fight yet, but definitely not having the best of days.

"Don't give up yet!" Lucia called out, a frown on her face, as she focused, and breathed in, trying to calm herself. She recalled the last time she was in a tough bind like this... And unlike last time, there was no-one to help.

"Go past your limitations, just do anything!" Lucia called out, as Gothy looked over, and then seemed shocked at her trainer's lack of composure at that moment, and then nodded, as the Gothita became covered in a glowing light. As the orb of light vanished, a Gothorita was standing there, a half smile on her face, as she suddenly flung her arm out toward Lucia's Bayleef, and unleashed a Heal Pulse that restored some of the Bayleef's stamina. Lucia seemed shocked, but smiled to cover that up, recalling the last time that had happened.

"Right! We're not out of this yet; not even close! Gothara... Repeat your target! Baya, Light Screen, then Grasswhistle on the Walrein!" Lucia called out, as the Bayleef detected a sudden shift in how the fight was progressing; likely due to the earlier Tailwind from Predator. Using the two moves in quicker succession, the newly evolved Gothara focused, and concentrated on the Throh she had targeted last time, and this time, launched off a Psybeam at it, in an attempt to damage it further.

OOC:

Gothita > Gothorita: Heal Pulse > Bayleef, Psybeam > Throh

Bayleef: Light Screen, Grass Whistle > Walrein

-==IC: Ray==-

Ray seemed a bit caught off guard by the suggestion, but nodded in agreement.

"Sure; sounds good to me." Ray said with a nod, as he sent Aizen out, and then chose his Togepi, Orihime, to go with the Kadabra.

She hasn't had much training at all... But this'll be better than nothing. Ray thought with a slight frown, as he looked over to the Togepi, who seemed to be putting on a brave face.

-==IC: Jenny==-

Jenny nodded in response.

"Yeah; he definitely should know." Jenny agreed, as, for all her and Ray knew, Ray was the only direct family she had at that moment.

-==IC: Ryan - Tyranitar, Porygon-Z==-

Ryan's eyes narrowed, as he nodded darkly to his Tyranitar, which eyed the Will-O-Wisps, and then shot forward quickly, moving faster than a typical Tyranitar, and hopefully faster than the Mismagius was expecting. However, that wasn't all, as the Tyranitar focused, and launched a Stone Edge over toward the Beheeyem quickly, as it got a slight burn the next moment.

Meanwhile, the Porygon-Z noticed the Miracle Eye, and pretended to aim at the Beheeyem, preparing a Signal Beam; however, it knew enough to wait for the moment, and planned to fire it at wherever the Beheeyem might end up after its inevitable teleportation.

IC:

"Crunch."

Cero thought: good so far.

Aridez thought: why do they always come from above?

He'd been ruminating on this for a while, he noted. It had all started when Viajero--back before Viajero was Viajero, that was to say, when he was but the generic hyperactive, yipping fool--had jumped on him with an Ice Fang. Then, Aridez remembered, Leviathan had tried to stomp on him. Now this weirdo-tusk-dragon-thing was doing some funky ballet at his face.

Aridez didn't get it. He could understand a dance or two, because running was fun and dancing was close enough; he could see why Leviathan wouldn't attack him at his level, because its size was too great (though it really should've tried). But what kind of self-respecting legged Pokémon would willingly leave the stability and comfort of his those Arceus-given limbs to attack another who showed true devotion to the good earth?

He inhaled sharply, fury rising in his belly with a warmth he had never felt. What gave them the right to defy the way of things?

He threw open his jaws and bared his teeth. What made this puny flying lizard-wannabe think he could be insolent to a true hippo and get away with it?

Aridez saw red.

He roared, blasting sand towards his enemy, and snapped his suddenly-massive jaws towards the descending dragon.

OOC: Evolution means there's a new profile for this bad boy (approved by Blade).

Nickname: Aridez
Species: Hippowdon
Trainer: Cero
Gender: Male
Appearance: Aridez is a Hippowdon of unusually great quantities of sand. Grains passively sit in his skin and ooze from him as he moves. He has many small scars on his back, but his most prominent marks are frostbite scars on his feet from the battle against Leviathan. However, his eyes command the most attention of his features: wide and carmine, they are always scanning their environment with a fiery gaze.
Personality: Aridez' evolution brought his pride to new heights, giving him a choleric temperament and warping his easygoing ways into the ferocity of an adult hippopotamus. In spite of this confidence, though, he is largely unsure of his role and unused to such a colossal body. His sand often serves to communicate as much as his body and verbal languages in its activity.
Specialty: Aridez' great body has made him tough, strong and even a little fast. His experience and quantity of sand, combined, also provide him with an effective "second skin" of sand to further increase his endurance; they additionally intensify his Sand Stream. However, Aridez isn't yet used to his abundance of sand, nor his body, and so is maladroit. His speed is also hindered by his clumsiness. Hail and Rain also batter his greater quantity of sand to the ground, decreasing its usefulness.
Ability: Sand Stream
Known Moves: Earthquake, Slack Off (egg move), Crunch, Ice Fang (replacing Revenge), Curse (egg move), Sand Tomb (replacing Double-Edge)
EXP: 7

"I'm glad you agree.", Evan said, "It's gonna be boring just flying silently. So, you know any good songs to sing to pass the time?"

Evan was still anxious. He preferred to be on the battlefield, especially with what he thought was on the horizon. Why did he feel such unease?

Lancelot was not keen on losing the effects of his Swords Dance so soon after achieving them. His practice with Bullet Punch showed here as the Scizor managed to evade the tongues of flame that came towards him. However they did prevent him from getting closer to the Banette to strike back. So he chose a different opponent to strike. In this case, it was the Abomasnow that he hoped to catch off guard with his Bullet Punch.

Chan wasn’t wrong, not perfect on the mark, but he was far too surprisingly close with the rocks for Percival’s comfort. He faded back into visibility as he moved out of the way of the Stone Edge. He was planning to use Shadow Ball on the Sudowoodo, when he heard “Percival, use Smog!”

He considered only a moment before releasing a cloud of poisonous gas in an attempt to poison both Chan and Wizard. If Adams was too close to Wizard that would be on James’ head not his.

OOC:

Lancelot: Bullet Punch Evade, Bullet Punch Attack on Ent
Percival: Smog -> Chan, Wizard, Adams

IC: (Jamie)

Pelleas was now feeling what it was to be on the other side of one of his Counters. He could see why no one was fond of it. The Heracross used his wings to slow himself down after being hurled, but it was still a rough landing. Not wanting to suffer that again, he approached the Sawk carefully and slower, his guard raised. And thus he entered into a stalemate with the Sawk, looking for a hole in his guard.

Lucan was so very thankful that he had started with Acid Armor, or that Hammer Arm would have ended things very quickly. As it was however, the attack still hurt like an ice cream truck, and that was something that made Lucan cry. It was in hindsight that he realized that the resulting Uproar might have actually been a good strategic move to use against an opponent that had extremely large ears and mobility.

The Thunderbolt was travelling towards Skye and the Human Torchic when it was intercepted by the body of Tristan. His body crackled with electricity from the sheer power of the attack, but he did not falter.

I am Tristan! The impenetrable shield! As long as I draw breath, YOU SHALL NOT HARM THEM!

OOC:

Pelleas: Nothing, stands before Sawk.
Lucan: Uproar -> Diggersby
Tristan: Bullet Punch to move self in front of Skye/Human Torchic

IC: (Roderick)

The distracting scent of Sweet Scent proved to make evasion difficult for Harmonics. Even without the Sweet Scent, the current situation would not have been helpful for Harmonics to able to warp away with Teleport. Instead the Beheeyem created a wall of Reflect in front of himself. The attack was definitely not fully stopped, as the Scolipede’s horn began to dig into him. The Beheeyem was in pain, and yet through the grunts of pain, the Psychic laughed.

Kukuku… This was a mistake for you.

“Wattling use Hydro Pump on Scolipede!” he said before giving a nod to the Rotom.

The Wattling opened the door to its laundry machine body which sent a raging torrent of water towards the Scolipede attacking the Beheeyem. One might have been forgiven for thinking this was a normal Hydro Pump, but if one looked closer, they might have been able to tell there was a large amount of soap in the water coming from the washing machine. Highly useful for a being who used electricity more than water. If the stream of water connected, the next step in the program would be to activate Thunderbolt. The resulting electricity would travel extremely quickly along the highly conducive soap-filled-water. The final result being what a certain someone called “The Laundry Bolt Surprise”.

Yes it was cheesy, but it was something to behold when it was pulled off.

OOC:

Harmonics: Reflect -> Self
Harmonics: Psychic
Wattling: Laundry Bolt Surprise -> Scolipede

IC - Kyle Eston - Lumiose City, Streets:

The sudden burst of sand--and the accompanying evolution--caught Lyxek off-guard, and he was forced to cover his face in order to protect his eyes. Only by engaging Endure at the last moment was he able to avoid instantly fainting from the amount of damage given to him. As he staggered and tried to pull away, he found that his arm was still caught in the Ground-Type's massive jaws, ice slowly creeping up his limb.

Seeing the bind his Pokémon was in, Kyle stepped forward. "Lyxek, use Reversal!"

With a roar, the Dragon-Type gathered power in his free fist, and clenching it, aimed a downward palm smash straight at Aridez's snout . . .

IC - Esen Windred/??? - Lumiose City, Streets:

Esen's opponent was another woman. She wore a black long coat with a fur collar over what was either a yellow dress or a yellow skirt--the top portion of her outfit was covered by the buttoned-closed coat, and so Esen was not entirely sure. Sandy-blonde hair covered her head, shorter in the back and styled into long, flowing spikes in the front, some of it cascading over the sunglasses that covered her eyes. She held herself with a confident posture, the extra inch or two from her heels making her seem far taller than she truly was. She did nothing for several moments, and then finally nodded. The entire time, Esen felt as if she, too, were being analyzed, though not in the same battle-sense with which she had examined her opponent.

The referee's voice suddenly sounded as he announced the rules, though neither combatant responded with more than a short nod in each other's direction. After several moments of looking between them, the referee himself nodded and stepped back, visibly unnerved by the intensity displayed by the pair.

At long last, Esen removed a Poké Ball from her belt, tossing it into the air. Krow appeared, flapping his wings and hovering quietly in place as he joined in the stare down. The other woman smiled, unclipping her own Poké Ball and sending out a Donphan.

Esen showed no outward sign of her puzzlement at this choice. Either the woman had intentionally set up a type disadvantage, or she had no other option. Given the circumstances--particularly her entire demeanor--the former seemed like the most likely case, and that had to mean that she had some sort of plan. If so, then Esen knew that she would just have to avoid giving her the opportunity to implement it . . .

"Krow, use Nasty Plot followed by Dark Pulse!" she ordered. The Dark-Type glowed with a nasty aura as he concocted a malicious scheme, flying into position soon after and gathering energy for his attack. With a caw, the Honchkrow let the attack fly, sending a rain of dark energy upon his opponent.

"Donphan, use Rollout and get out of there," the woman said.

The Ground-Type curled up, spinning like a wheel and speeding out of the way. A cloud of dust trailed behind him, spit up both by his spinning and by the many Dark Pulses slamming into the ground. Try as Krow might, the attacks simply would not hit--at least until he suddenly dived, trailing only a few feet above his target and launching a volley directly in front of the Donphan. The Ground-Type was caught off guard and swerved out of the way, skidding toward the middle of the battlefield, where he uncurled.

The woman smiled, hidden gaze set on the low-flying Honchkrow. "Nice job," she said. "Now, Donphan, use Stone Edge."

The Armor Pokémon leaped forward, driving his feet hard against the ground. Large spikes of rock erupted upward in a haphazard line, dozens of obstacles in Krow's path . . .

IC - Sonja Baron - The Alamo, Practice Arenas:

Sonja smiled, and throwing the Poké Ball in her hand upward, released Poseidon into the water. The Chinchou surfaced, splashing about as--for what felt like the first time in ages--his skills were finally being put to use.

"I guess I'll get us started," she said. "Loki, use Rock Slide! Poseidon, use Signal Beam on Aizen!"

The Fighting-Type stomped, creating a number of stones that he hurled at the opposing duo. Poseidon dived, and then leaped from the water, launching a beam of energy at the Kadabra . . .

IC - DÉOZA AGENT NAUM RHODES - Beheeyem, Dodrio, Walrein, Throh, Venusaur, Scolipede

Gavin Braner (Dothe/Dusknoir, Talsim/Alakazam)/Lucia (Bayleef, Gothita)/Roderick Krane (Wattling/Rotom, Harmonics/Beheeyem)/Zack Furler (Predator/Staraptor) - Central Hall, Havoc:

The enemy Scolipede could not move quickly enough to avoid the torrent of water headed for it. As a result, the attack connected, washing over it and barely giving the massive insect time or space enough to breathe. Coupled with the burst of electricity that followed seconds later, which was amplified by the soapy water, the attack left the bug staggering on its feet as soon as it got the chance. It took several long moments for it to regain its composure, but when it did, it did so with anger, curling up and barreling toward Wattling with Steamroller.

Gothara's Psybeam sent another sharp wave of pain through Throh's mind, though still the Fighting-Type managed to hold on. As the attack subsided, he suddenly broke his stance, eyes glowing as he became wrapped in an aura of jagged energy. With demonic speed, he charged, moving so quickly that it was almost impossible to follow his movements with the naked eye, the pent-up energy from Bide serving as fuel for his retaliation. He appeared to keep the type advantages of the field in mind, choosing not to target his attacker--Gothita--but instead her ally, Baya, letting loose a flurry of powerful kicks and punches that threatened to knock out the Grass-Type in one swift blow.

It was pure luck, then, that this happened only after the Bayleef had used her Grasswhistle--and by extension, after the enemy Beheeyem's earlier Safeguard had been Disabled. Walrein attempted to gather energy for another Ice Beam attack, but found itself falling asleep too quickly to unleash it on its opponents. The result was a fizzling-out of the energy in its jaw, dissipating into the air as the walrus's head dropped to the floor, fast asleep.

Seeing an opportunity, Gavin pointed. "Talsim, send it at Dodrio!"

Talsim did not need to be told twice. Though still recovering from Dodrio's attack, he thrust his hands forward, focusing a Psychic attack on Walrein. The Ice Break Pokémon was lifted into the air, and with a massive heave, hurled toward the resting Dodrio. The Triple Bird Pokémon responded with a level of surprise appropriate for the sight of a flying walrus, and quickly kicked off from the ground to avoid Walrein's impact. The next moment, however, it found itself on the receiving end of a Thunder Punch from an equally-appropriately-angry Dothe, eliciting a loud squawk of pain from the bird. It landed solidly against the wall, and after struggling for a moment to lift itself up, collapsed onto the ground, forcing Rhodes to recall it.

Predator landed heavily following Venusaur's surprise attack, and struggled to get up even as Zack ran to his side. Seeing an opportunity, the Seed Pokémon roared and charged, aiming a Take Down attack at the pair . . .

Beheeyem silently glanced at Rhodes. It was clear to both of them that the battle was not going well, though the Psychic-Type could not discern why its trainer was not as worried expected . . .

Scolipede: Defense Curl/Steamroller > Wattling

Throh: Bide > Baya

Walrein: Sleeping, Psychically-punted > Dodrio

Dodrio: Fainted

Venusaur: Take Down > Predator/Zack

Beheeyem: Analyzing the battle

IC - DÉOZA AGENT DRAGAN ARGALL - Beheeyem, Aegislash, Muk, Sawk, Camerupt, Diggersby

Skye Hall (Torchic)/Jamie Arthur (Pelleas/Heracross, Lucan/Vanilluxe, Tristan/Metagross)/Cyan Vero (Typhlosion, Gallade)/Drake Masters (Goodra) - Central Hall, Havoc:

Pelleas found himself facing an equally wary Sawk, the Fighting-Type staring down his opponent with an analytic determination not typically known for the species. They circled around each other for several moments, each waiting for the other to move. Finally, the Karate Pokémon bounced forward, thrusting out flame-covered at Pelleas as he combined Dual Chop and Fire Punch into a lightning-fast combination attack.

The Diggersby couldn't suppress a smirk at the sight of his attack connecting. Lucan's Uproar, however, quickly wiped that expression away, replacing it with a grimace of pain as the bunny tried to plug its ears. Upon realizing the futility of this action, both due to the shortness of its arms and the sheer sensitivity of the hearing appendages, he settled instead for a Double Kick aimed at the ice cream cone's face.

Skye had covered her face in terror at the sight of the Thunderbolt, and only uncovered it when she heard Tristan's declarative roar of protection. She gripped the Human Torchic close to her chest, feeling her own fear radiating from the small Fire-Type's body, and could not utter so much as a "thank you" to her guardian. What she could see was the darkly contemplative look that appeared on the Beheeyem's face across the field as it considered the Metagross's words. It seemed to decided that they were a challenge, as--with an approving chuckle from its trainer--it used Nasty Plot again, and instantly followed that up by launching a Shadow Ball at Tristan.

Seeing his allies' current situation, Drake issued a quick set of directions to Goodra. The Dragon-Type smiled, bouncing forward. Using Power Whip, it picked up the still-dazed Camerupt, who half-heartedly fought against the action by kicking weakly at the empty air. This did very little to deter the Goodra, who spun around and launched the camel at Aegislash. The Royal Sword Pokémon's eye widened at the sight, and it activated King's Shield to protect itself; a moment later the Camerupt slammed into it, dealing no damage to the Ghost-Steel-Type but getting knocked out itself in the process.

Noting Aegislash's momentary immobility, Gallade telepathically connected with Typhlosion, quickly warning him of what he was about to do. Seconds later, the Fire-Type appeared behind the enemy sword, unleashing a point-blank Lava Plume from below. A torrent of lava enveloped the phantom sword for several long moments, finally dispersing and allowing the fainted ghost to fall forward, limp hands dropping to its side.

"Would you still call that luck?" Cyan asked their opponent, nodding in approval to the Team Liberty Pokémon as they came to a short rest in front of him.

Argall gritted her teeth, though the action slowly shifted into a dark smile. "Don't pat yourselves on the back yet," she said. "Muk, Sludge Wave!"

At her order, the Poison-Type reformed itself. It pulled forth as much energy as it could muster, unleashing it in a massive wave of poisonous liquid that spread out around itself, creating a powerful, vile whirlpool that threatened to encompass all around it--friends and foe alike--stopping only at the Protective sphere that appeared around Argall at her Beheeyem's behest . . .

IC - THIRD CHILD QUINCY ADAMS - Beheeyem/Wizard, Gothitelle/Doll, Abomasnow/Ent, Sudowoodo/Chan, Banette/Voodoo, Mismagius/Witch

Ryan Hikari (Tyranitar, Porygon-Z)/Joker (Seer/Alakazam)/James Arthur (Lancelot/Scizor, Percival/Chandelure)/Ethan Worth (Suya/Victreebel, Kada/Torterra) - Central Command, Havoc:

A storm of Ice Beam attacks was not something that a normal Grass-Type would want to embrace, but Suya seemed determine to. The Victreebel move forward, screeching in furious challenge at the attacks as they neared. Only when Kada reached forward with a vine, pushing the Flycatcher Pokémon back with a gentle shake of his head, did Suya quiet down. Ethan's proximity to Suya and Kada put him in just as much danger of the onslaught at it did the two Pokémon; for that reason, they--or, at least, Kada--was even more compelled to block the attacks.

The Continent Pokémon stepped forward, rooting himself firmly into the ground and issuing a deep bellow. Hundreds of leaves erupted from the interior of his shell and from the tree on his back, condensing into a spinning tornado of leaves around Suya, Ethan, and himself. The Leaf Storm attack proved to be an effective shield, blocking the Ice Beams wherever they hit and instead causing frozen piles of leaves to cascade to the ground. Only when the onslaught stopped--at the forceful prompting of Lancelot, who managed to clip Ent in the jaw despite a sudden Mean Look from Doll--did Kada actually use the move for its intended purpose, sending the storm of leaves flying toward Ent and Doll. The projectiles virtually danced around Lancelot as they flew toward the Abomasnow and Gothitelle, knocking the two back and allowing Kada and Suya to advance forward.

As they neared, and as the Leaf Storm began to subside, Ent shook his head, gathering his wits about him in preparation to retaliate. He started to roar, eyes glowing as his Snow Warning ability began to kick in, but a sudden Gastro Acid attack from Suya stopped the incoming hail in its tracks. Ent glared, and then charged, aiming a Hammer Arm at the Victreebel. In response, Suya lashed out with Power Whip, aiming to entangle the Frosted Tree Pokémon before the attack could connect . . .

No longer protected by Ent, Doll moved back, quickly sending a Heal Block attack at Lancelot and a Signal Beam at Kada while she waited for another of her allies to assist her. Kada threw himself to the side, moving in front of Lancelot and taking both hits, momentarily grimacing as the latter whittled at his health. . .

Stone Edge was one reason to Protect; Smog was another. Add in the presence of Chan and Adams, both susceptible to either attack given a poorly planned deflection, and the protective field became only more lucrative. And so Wizard did, summoning the green field of energy around himself, the Sudowoodo and their trainer. The Stone Edge exploded against the shield, sending shards of rock flying in all directions, while the Smog attack dissipated against it. The Protect only dropped once the latter had fully dispersed, allowing Wizard to move back and open the door for Chan to launch forward with a Hammer Arm at Tyranitar. This left Wizard to keep a watchful eye on Percival, as well as a short opportunity for the ghost to get an attack in if he moved quickly enough . . .

The Shadow Ball from Witch proved to be little more than a momentary distraction--a split-second Protect proved that well enough. The shadowy energy bounced harmlessly off the shield, and had not even fully dissipated when Seer moved forward, speed accelerated by psychic energy. Witch eyed the Alakazam uncertainly, realizing at that moment just exactly whom it was up against. She tried to remain calm, focusing on pulling forth another Shadow Ball--

--only to find the energy evaporate before her just as quickly as it appeared. Seer didn't so much as smile at the sight, already knowing that his Disable had taken hold. Lowering that hand, he focused his mind on Witch, enveloping her with his and Joker's signature violet aura, and launched her upward. She barely managed to regain her balance before she slammed into the ceiling, stopped both by her timely recovery and by Voodoo, who had moved to catch her upon noting the Mismagius's plight. Together, they descended, bracketing the Alakazam.

Joker scoffed at the sight. Show them why that isn't an effective strategy, Seer.

The Alakazam closed his eyes, waiting. When he made no other movements, the two ghosts quickly acted. Witch flashed a crazed grin, sending a flash of energy at the Psi Pokémon, while Voodoo launched a Shadow Claw attack forward.

An instant later, Seer vanished. The two Pokémon barely registered this in time to dodge each other's attacks, and then moved back to back, searching for their opponent. He reappeared on top of them, landing with one foot on each of their heads and driving them into the ground. This briefly stunned them, allowing the Alakazam to jump upward and send both skidding against the ground a second later with Psychic . . .

"Nice work so far, everyone," Ethan called to his teammates. "If we keep this up, she'll be down in no time."

Ent: Hammer Arm > Suya

Doll: Mean Look > Lancelot, Heal Block/Signal Beam > Kada (Hit)

Wizard: Protect > Self, Adams, Chan

Chan: Hammer Arm > Tyranitar

Witch: Shadow Ball (Disabled), Confuse Ray > Seer (Missed)

Voodoo: Will-o-Wisp > Seer (Missed)

IC: Dandy

With Dandy now in the front passenger seat, the whole car became quite. He didn't like this silence surrounding the car. After staring out into the rain with boredom, he decided to break the ice. "So..what exactly do you guys do? I mean I don't know much about aura other than that we all have it. At least that's what I've heard."

He then thotugh of something after he paused from his last sentence. "If you tell me what you do, I'll tell what I do and why I came here. I don't just show up for no reason, am I right?"

IC: Cero could only be glad Aridez was Cursed, and thus more resistant to the ensuing damage. As things were, the Reversal hit the Hippowdon's face with a ringing crack that shocked its jaws into relaxation. Cero froze for a second. Seeing that Aridez' greatest injuries were to his pride and apparent armor, though, he went on with increased confidence.

"Fall back and Slack Off." The hippopotamus quickly stepped away from his enemy, comfortably settling into his stance. Though retreating to heal might seem like an opening, Cero guessed there wouldn't be much time to exploit it in a sandstorm whittling the enemy down. There was the possibility that he was direly wrong. He wasn't very knowledgeable of the species of his enemy, and he'd only fought against one trained foe before. However, the faith he'd just gained in himself and his friends reinforced his self-trust. Cero would roll the dice.

IC: Ryan

Ryan quickly grabbed his laundry basket and ducked out of the R&D department, still shaking. Part of him wanted to believe that one of Executive Vert's experiments had just gone horribly wrong. But after Opelucid and the destruction of Team Galactic's base, he couldn't shake the feeling that this was something far worse. He couldn't explain it, but something just felt unnatural about the state of the Training Center, especially those twisted metal thrones.

He reached his dorm and with a shaking hand opened the door. To his surprise, Entei had let himself out of his Ultra Ball and was waiting for him. The Legendary Beast was none too happy about being ignored. Laundry shouldn't take that long to do, he said, a hint of a growl rising in his telepathic voice. When he noticed the fear in Ryan's eyes, his expression softened. What happened? he asked. You look like you've seen a ghost.

"Worse," Ryan muttered as he set about to folding his laundry.

You saw Sonja? Entei said smugly.

"No." Ryan paused. "Well, yes -- but she's not what has me worried. It's R&D. Something... something bad happened there."

Entei listened patiently as Ryan described what he had seen there. By the time he was done, the Legendary Beast's expression had shifted to a deep frown. I hate to say 'I told you so,' but--

"Sonja was right," Ryan said with a nod. "We may have the ceasefire, but that doesn't mean we can rest easy. I need to warn her. We have to find out what happened down there... and whether or not it could happen again."

Not that I'm complaining about you actually doing something worthwhile, Entei said. But are you doing this for Team Liberty? Or are you just trying to get back on Sonja's good side?

Ryan thought for a moment. He realized that if he was completely honest, the answer leaned more towards the latter option than he cared to admit to the Legendary Beast. He forced a smile and shrugged. "A bit of both, I suppose."

IC: Jayron

"You're not wrong," Jayron said. "Everyone has aura. You could almost call it our life-force, at least on an emotional plane. But only a select few can read or manipulate it." The Liberty Executive paused for a moment. Dandy's question seemed innocent enough, but given recent events, he couldn't be too careful. He decided to remain quiet about their affiliation with Team Liberty. "Colette and I have both been training to master the use of aura," he continued. "As you saw in that battle, aura manipulation has both offensive and defensive capabilities."

Jayron glanced at Colette, wondering if she had anything to say. But the girl had her head turned as she stared out the window. Jayron frowned. He could understand how Dandy's attitude annoyed Colette, but she was acting surprisingly cold. Unfortunately for her, Dandy didn't seem like a problem that would simply go away if ignored. Jayron just hoped this wouldn't affect Colette's performance on their mission. After all, he still had to grade her and submit a report to Goldhawk.

With Colette unwilling to say anything, Jayron sat in an uncomfortable silence. He was about to ask Dandy why he had come to Seven Island when George pulled up to his house. "We've arrived, kids," the police captain said.

"Thanks again for opening up your house to us," Jayron said gratefully.

"Like I said, it's the least I could do," George said with a smile at Alexa, who had dozed off leaning against Colette's arm and was just beginning to stir.

OOC: ATTENTION!

This is an important detail, so please listen!

We are in the R/S/E(Gen 3-5) Universe. This means that the stuff that happened in the X/Y/OR/AS Universe is not canon to the RPG.

Credit goes to Minun for noticing the big detail that allowed this announcement.

-==IC: Ray==-

Ray kept calm, even as his Togepi began slightly panicking from the attack coming her way.

"Orihime, Safeguard, Charm, Metronome." Ray said, as the Togepi paused in confusion at actually getting a command, but then nodded, and set up a safeguard; getting hit by the Rock Slide momentarily after that. However, the egg-shaped Pokemon was resilient if nothing else, and bounced back shortly after, before using Charm on Loki, and then wagging its finger... And then a burst of flame was sent out toward the Chinchou in response; if it hit correctly, it'd hopefully damage the Gurdurr too, though there was always the chance the water could interfere. Ray nodded, quite surprised by the effectiveness of the Metronome, and smiled.

So, this is Orihime's power, huh...? Ray was intrigued by that, and it only reinforced his decision.

"Now then, Aizen! How about you handle your side of the battle?" Ray asked, as the Kadabra weathered out the two attacks, though definitely not seeming the better for taking a Rock Slide and then a super-effective Signal Beam. However, the Kadabra smiled, and then sent out a mysterious beam toward the Chinchou, and mimicked its ability in a role play. After that was done, the Kadabra's eyes glowed, and it then teleported to another spot on the field behind Loki, and proceeded to launch off a Psychic at him, realizing the Gurdurr to be a more preferrable target right at that moment; especially now, if the Chinchou launched off an electric attack...

OOC:

Togepi: Safeguard, Charm > Loki, Metronome > Poseidon

Kadabra: Role Play > Chinchou (Volt Absorb), Teleport, Psychic > Loki

-==IC: Lucia - Gothorita, (Bayleef), Clawitzer==-

Lucia's eyes widened, as her Bayleef was hit by the Bide, and then sent flying. Lucia's quick thinking allowed the grass-type Pokemon to be recalled before further damage could be dealt. Lucia frowned, as she considered the situation.

Right... The Dodrio's down. I know what to do. Lucia thought, as she sent out Claraga quickly.

"Now, Aura Sphere!" Lucia called out, as the Clawitzer focused, and launched off an Aura Sphere quickly at the sleeping Walrein. Not waiting to see if it hit, Lucia nodded, and the Clawitzer proceeded to launch off a Dark Pulse at the Beheeyem quickly; aiming to take it down before it could try to do anything else. Lucia looked over to the rest of the battle, and then smiled.

Gothara's still wide open. Now's my chance. Lucia thought, as she held out her hand.

"Gothara, Psybeam, repeat!" Lucia called out, as the Gothorita closed her eyes, and then began to attempt to pelt the mind of the opposing Throh once more; hoping it wasn't too far from fainting, from the damage dealt to Baya. However, just in case, it quickly sent out another Psybeam, aiming this one at the Scoliopede, just in case; recognizing that the bug could be a nuisance if kept unchecked.

OOC:

Bayleef: Fainted

Clawitzer: Aura Sphere > Walrein, Dark Pulse > Beheeyem

Gothorita: Psybeam > Throh, Psybeam > Scoliopede

-==IC: Ryan==-

Ryan silently considered everything, as he nodded.

"Right." Ryan said, and snapped his fingers. The Tyranitar's ear twitched, as he was surprised by the command; something that Ryan used to do six months ago. The Tyranitar frowned for a second, and then seemed resigned to the fact that this really was the best move for the situation... And then charged up, and fired off a point-blank, full strength Hyper Beam at the charging Sudowoodo. Because of the angle, if the Sudowoodo hesitated even for a moment, the attack might hit behind it... And because of the angle, behind was Wizard and Quincy.

Meanwhile, Ryan's Porygon-Z watched silently, charging up a Signal Beam, as it tried to find the most appropriate target to attack...

OOC:

Tyranitar: Full strength Hyper Beam > Chan

Porygon-Z: Watching, Charging Signal Beam

-==IC: Zach==-

"Well, I guess technically Alistair, but that was so long ago..." Zach said, as he thought as well. "Anna was visiting us in Goldenrod sometime, and I'm positive you were there too." Zach continued, as he scratched his head. Zach turned his head to Aspen, and then thought that over for a moment.

"Think her last name's Scalene... Dunno why my aunt decided to marry someone with a mathematical last name, but hey, those things happen." Zach said with a shrug. Zach then looked over at Madison against, and then began to count on his hand, and nodded slightly.

"She's maybe a year older, if I recall her age right." Zach wasn't sure what Dack and Luke were whispering about, but at that precise moment, he didn't really care too much.

-==IC: Colette==-

Colette was still ignoring Dandy for the most part, because she just did not get a good first impression in the slightest. However, when she realized Alexa was stirring, she smiled over at her with a nod.

"Thanks for sure, sir." Colette said with a smile, both because he hadn't overreacted about the aura thing, and because of his gratitude.

Wattling was pretty surprised that the Scolipede could still come at him with such force. Sadly there seemed only course of action for the Rotom, and that was abandon the washing machine. When the attack was about to connect, the ghost left the machine.

“Wattling, Thunderbolt,” Roderick said as the Scolipede crushed the empty washing machine. The Rotom complied noticing that a Psybeam was now aimed at the Poison-Bug type as well.

Harmonics got up slowly as the pain began to die down. He wasn’t at full power, but he could still fight for a while longer. There was one opponent that had yet to really fight. Throwing up a Light Screen, he decided that he would change that. He floated closer towards his opposite number.

Ku ku ku, the Beheeyem chuckled as he raised an Ancient Power and tossed it at the other Beheeyem.

OOC:

Wattling (Rotom-W -> Rotom): Abandons Washing Machine, Thunderbolt -> Scolipede

Harmonics (Beheeyem): Light Screen -> Self, Ancient Power -> Beheeyem

IC: (Jamie)

Lucan thought that his time had come. The bunny was too close for him to counter, and he was not quite quick enough to get away. All he could do was turn to the side, close his eyes and await the inevitable. Only there was one thing that both the Diggersby and Lucan forgot about. Lucan had two faces.

With two faces, Lucan had two separate perspectives to see the world from. Now Lucan was not used to having two conscious-es, and as neither ever thought much of anything different than the other one (and remembered the incident at the least), they were effectively like two eyes (except he had four of those now). Now when he turned his head, both of the kicks the Diggersby produced went to the face that was turned closer to it. That face felt the full power and conked out. But the other face felt so little of the impact, he must have missed. When he realized what happened, there was a brief resetting of his brain, at the sudden feeling of being both unconscious and awake.

Unfortunately Jamie was not privy to this revelation and just saw Lucan standing there while the Diggersby was open, “Lucan Ice Beam!”

Snapping back to himself, the Vanilluxe created an Ice Beam originating from his remaining head and fired at the Diggersby. It wasn’t his strongest, but it was Ice, and that is nice.

Tristan on the other hand, could not respond to the attack being levied at him (or the Sludge Wave, but that did not pierce his Steel-hide). He braced himself as best he could (wishing he knew that Endure that Pelleas had) and stayed stationary. The attack hurt like all of Abyss was suddenly tossed at him. When the attack was finished, he stood there, his bravado gone, and his stance uneasy. He refused to move from that spot or fall unconscious, as long as Skye was behind him, he must not allow himself to fall.

Even if my body will be broken, I will not let you harm them… he said, his voice almost inaudible.

And as for Pelleas, his anger was only abated by his focus in this next move, it had to be done perfectly. The first punch Pelleas dodged, but for the second, he bared his chest open. The firey punch dug into him, causing immense pain, which was only increased by Pelleas forcing the Sawk’s to press harder against his chest. He felt himself burn, and with him, his power. A new flare in his eyes, the Heracross intended to counter with his Guts boosted power, and if all went as intended, fling that Sawk right at the Beheeyem who dared continue to attack his friend.

OOC:

Pelleas (Heracross): Endure, Guts activation, Counter -> Sawk (attempt to toss at Beheeyem)

Lucan (Vanilluxe): Ice Beam -> Diggersby

Response to Sludge Wave will occur next post.

IC: (James)

“I can only hope that declaration does not jinx us. Lancelot, charge at the Gothitelle,” James said.

The Scizor nodded as his ‘scarred’ arm glowed green. With the Mean Look on him, attacking anyone would be a problem, so his first priority was to be rid of it. His movement reminded James of a mounted knight about to strike with his lance, as he attempted to use U-Turn on the Psychic.

The infiltrator ghost saw his chance and he took it. He was slightly sad, he didn’t have the opportunity to use Hex, but he wasn’t going to waste the chance to use Shadow Ball. After launching a ball of otherworldly energy at the Beheeyem, and moved behind in its wake. He wanted to force the Beheeyem to fight him. Something he’d probably regret, but they needed the Beheeyem to become an active participant to plug Adams’ chances of running.

OOC:

Percival (Chandelure): Shadow Ball -> Wizard, moves in on Wizard

Lancelot (Scizor): U-Turn -> Doll

IC: The Seatons

"Back at Goldenrod..... Oh!" Olivia said. "Anna's that girl with black hair and green eyes who looks really similar to you, right?" she asked.

"Her father's name was Scalene? Well gee, wonder what his job is...." Aspen muttered. "Certainly isn't a mathematician, I bet."

".....Aspen?" Dahlia spoke up. "I'm fairly certain people can guess from our names that one of our parents is a gardener, and if they knew our last name, the other was a sailor."

"......Right." Aspen responded, quickly covering his face with the menu.

Haven't seen one of these in a long time...

"Scalene!" Madison said loudly with a snap of her fingers, causing Dack to look up from his menu in alarm.

"Scalene?" Dack frowned. "What do triangles have to do with anything?"

"Anna Scalene," Madison said, looking both exuberant at her recognition of the name and exasperated at Dack's lack thereof. "You can't tell me you don't remember her! She was one of the brightest kids in class. She's the only reason I passed trigonometry."

Dack thought for a moment. "You mean that girl who had that emotional breakdown when she got a 79 on her essay?"

Luke let out a laugh. "Oh, now I remember her!"

Madison rolled her eyes. "You two can be so insensitive sometimes."

"Hey, I got a 42 on that essay, and you didn't see me spouting any tears!" Luke shot back.

Madison shook her head, then turned to Zach. "How's Anna been? I haven't seen too much of her lately. Not really since the avalanche..."

Zach nodded to Olivia in response, but shrugged.

"She's not totally similar to me, but I guess you could see some similarities..." Zach said, and paused in surprise, as Madison called out, and then explained about how they knew her. Zach chuckled slightly at that. "Yeah... Definitely sounds like her." Zach said with a nod, but then paused again in confusion, at Madison's final comment.

"... What avalanche?"

"Well, I could at least tell she was related to you...." Olivia said while shrugging. When Dack shared a story of Anna freaking out over an essay score, Olivia grinned slightly. "Yeah, she did come off as a bit of an academic... Though, to be fair, I'd have probably been a bit disappointed if I got a 79 too."

"I know who to nominate for genius of the century." Aspen said, when Luke shared his abysmal essay score. "Brawns over brains, huh?"

Dahlia took to slapping her brother's hand, highly unammused with his clear mockery of Luke (lack of) intelligence. However, upon hearing Madison mention an avalanche, she blinked and then looked over with an apologetic look. "An avalanche...? What happened....?" she asked.

"I-I might have read about it in the news sometime before, but I forget the details of what happened...." Aspen muttered.

"Same h-here....." Olivia interjected, turning to Zach. "...When was the last time you met up with Anna, anyways...?"

Haven't seen one of these in a long time...
