Imagine Mata Nui, but as a Castle

Recommended Posts

The Flickr/Instagram Bionicastle building contest has wrapped up, where entrants built Castle-inspired and Bionicle-inspired MOCs. The winners were announced, but one honorable mention stands out in particular: unpixelled's The Matoran Kingdom. This digital creation gives us a minifig-scale mobile castle of Mata Nui's robot body, a walking castle-city that is popular in the fantasy genre. Unpixelled gets the Mata Nui body just right within the brick and mortar castle aesthetic, and you can imagine Matoran, Turaga and Toa inhabiting the city and keeping it safe. Check out the post for detailed pictures, and the contest's finalists for several other impressive entries.

Wow, that thing is crazy huge. I wonder how well it would stay together if actually built in real life.

Also the winner's gallery is marked as adult content for whatever reason.

Oh WOW that's neat :o The amount of detail achieved with mostly System bricks is wild, especially around the mask / face, and it just looks so... REAL, I could totally imagine it existing in this form within canon.

I also only just noticed they said the model stands over two metres tall... that is INSANE in all the best ways. It's, like... the kind of model you'd expect to see in a Legoland park at that size, except even more epic.

Oh, my! That thing is as big as a a normal human's battle suit, like an Iron Man costume! I mean, the guy who made it must be mad! :O

Anyway, this is dang amazing! I can't believe it! :O

I like Lego, Bionicle, and Hero Factory!:)
