Hapori Tohu
He may not have a scratched-up two headed coin to toss around, but his head is certainly two of something. The menacing Splitface is the next Hero Factory review for this series, who takes a fancy to mix-matching his armor every morning upon waking. What is up with that, you ask? Read on to find out! Nathan Evo
How could you not mention that the Iron Man head is in a new color? Seriously. That piece did not exist in that color beforehand. I now hold more shame and disappointment in the BZPower staff than I did before. And all over a piece in a new color. Also, I have Splitface, and mine has a piece count on the front of the bag. Fifty. GeluNumber1
As does mine. I already have this set, but this reveiw is still nice. Quote Why are orange and black such a good color Combination ? Purple is pretty, and so is blue. Pink hurts your eyes, green is quite mellowing, black is very threatning, red is cool, orange is SO awesome, yellow's hard to read... But you can't see white at all! Oh, wait. I forgot brown. Here's my thoughts: If a person tells the truth and says, " I always lie," Is he lying? Or is he telling the truth? And what has a mouth, but no head, and a body, but no torso? Do caterpillars like to tend to supporting colum of stone's every need? Or is that name misleading by nature? Speaking of nature, why are the children of animals called offspring? don't many young beasts come alive in spring, and thus, should be called onspring? Heeeeeeyy..... I got the first post on a page for the first time. Who knows; it may happen again. What the... It did happen again... and again... YEAH! I'M ENCOUNTERING PROTODERMIS! Takatu
Neat! Was not expecting that for the head and face, but it looks really awesome. Also like that half is black, looked gunmetal in the art.And I can say that I think this is one of the only sets I've seen, be it from Hero Factory or Bionicle, where the set itself actually looks MORE menacing and intimidating than the box art. This one's a nice surprise, Lego.
Ballom Nom Nom
Interesting review. It's certainly nice to know that the head is actually two distinct pieces, instead of a single, hard-to-use dual-colored piece.~B~ Edited January 10, 2012 by Ballom
Smitty
Can we expect a review of Splitsurge? Quote At some point you realize that you are but a speck in the Universe. That you time in this worlds is but a blink. You see the whole of reality as it unfolds before you. You try to see how far you can reach, and it’s not that far past your face. Dorek
Great set. I agree about the neck, but if you switch it out for the single ball-y joint, it limits the ability to turn it. Mare Tranquillitatis
This is, for me, the best villain set in the line, 'coz it rocks! He looks awesome, doesn't he? His design is pretty good and innovative, even if its basic structure is like all the others. And, btw, Makuta_of_Oz is right: it's marked as "NEWS" instead of "REVIEW". Aanchir
I love Splitface's design. It's a perfect example of how by arranging the armor pieces strategically it's easy to make a generic humanoid build have an extremely unique design. I love how one side tends to use organic shapes and the other side uses mechanical shapes, as well as the simplicity of the organic side's armor (the lower leg, upper leg, and upper arm all use the same two pieces). Both weapons on this set are fantastic. The left-hand weapon is simple but stylish, while the right hand weapon is much more unique yet still cohesive. What makes them particularly impressive is that both weapons are made entirely from pre-existing pieces.I'm a bit iffy about the Glatorian head color not matching the laser beam on his left-hand weapon. But his face is otherwise very well-designed. His torso print is also impressive. Overall, Splitface is quite stylish-looking! Toa of Nerds
I guess this makes up for Lego not releasing a real Two-Face figure in the superheroes line. However, it probably wouldn't have come out as nice as this set did, so I'm happy they didn't. I'm also really glad that the two sides of the face are different pieces. Having a clunky pre-molded head would be annoying for MOCers. EDIT: On another note, are you sure that you could make a full red head or black head if you bought two sets? Wouldn't you have to put one side upside-down or something? So the left half has the right half's face on top, and the right half has the left half's face on top. You can create a single-colored face in either color, but it will always have the mechanical half of the face on the right half of the headand the organic half of the face on the left half of the head. It will never be perfectly symmetrical. Quote Latest MOC: PAIGE (Prototype Artificial Intelligence, Gynoid Expression)

Chip Wiseman
Wow... I love this guy's asymmetrical...ness. And that mask - finally, there is a use for those axle slots on the side of the head! One thing that is great about this wave is that not all the Heroes are the same size, and they paired small villains with large Heroes and vice-versa. Except Rocka and BP. They work well as they are. First of all, the bios on HeroFactory.com seem to be trying to give the villain characters very unique personalities (and if there were any connections between this guy and older villain sets, then that site would be where it would be mentioned-- somewhere where it doesn't confuse TV viewers or comic readers with excessive continuity). Second, the red half has pretty much no similarities to XPlode, other than being red. XPlode has a consistently spiky design, whereas this guy's red half is made of smooth, organic, bubbly shapes. I think by trying to make connections in this manner you're grasping at straws, just like how people thought Black Phantom would be Fire Lord fused with Von Nebula or some other such nonsense.
