IC: Reliable Narrator | Le-Metru

Otharak rushed through the urban jungle of Le-Metru. He moved carefully and cautiously, but there was only so much the titanic warrior of the League could do to not stand out. He took the side alleys, the long metal fire escapes, the shady corners of the undercity. His travels brought him through the graffiti galleries of the Le-Matoran, with messages and tags -- AVAB, Blink, and Red Eye Mob being popular -- sprayed across the walls and floors of tunnels and abandoned chute stations. Finally, he saw his destination: a Le-Metru airship port.

Large silver cargo galleons floated in the air next to the docks, rails and feeder belts extending from their open holds to the shipments waiting their turn to load. Matoran dockworkers milled about in a mostly orderly fashion. The vahki could do only so much to curb the comedic and playful nature of Le-Matoran culture, especially when legitimized work functions in Le-Metru included “whoopee cushion maker” and “drunk machinist”. The air region knew how to work the system. Otharak remembered his orders from his Barraki lord: dismantle the city’s regulated system of transportation to upset the war effort. From the safe vantage point he’d found, Otharak took in the docks and worked on his plan...

Sidra’s report to the vahki prompted a small claims ticket to be printed and given to her from a device on its torso -- in case she wanted to follow up in the future. The claims ticket she held had a red bar along the side of the receipt paper, and it rolled in on itself no matter how much Sidra attempted to force it flat. While her nektann scurried about, Sidra noticed a scuttling squad of vahki making their way in the direction of the upper-city docks and chutes...

IC: Reliable Narrator | Silver Sea conflict

Skyra looked down-sights into the eyes of a skakdi gunner. She was the same element, with mottled green and yellow armor giving the sense of leaves changing from Summer to Autumn. Her eyes were a deep crimson, and sweat brought on by the heat inside the tank trickled down her back. There was an emotional connection of recognition between them, then Skyra pulled the trigger and fired orbs of light and destruction into the gunnery. The skakdi turned to slag, the inside of the gunnery filled with whatever once comprised the crew, and burnt paneling hung loosely on broken wires. The effects were immediate: the giant hagah cannon powered down.

IC: Okuo - Ga-Metru

Okuo almost screamed out loud when he saw the acid sphere shoot into the pod. His heart sank. At first he'd been apprehensive about her getting detained, but if it kept her out of harm's way, then maybe it was for the best. This wasn't out of harm's way. This was smack dab in the middle of its path. For a moment he felt a crushing hopelessness envelop him. After everything he'd been through, it had all been for nothing. Vhisola was going to die... Vhisola was... NO!

Okuo shook his head. Not now. Not after everything. Acid projectile. Acid. She'd be hurt. Burns across her body undoubtedly. But there was still a chance. Up to this point Okuo had made plenty of bad decisions, made wrong turns that had lead him and Vhisola to this point, but now as the Vahki transport set off and the rest of the Vahki ran away to chase down the assailant, Okuo knew there was only one thing to do. He had to get Vhisola out of that pod.

Silent and invisible, Okuo flew after the transport. With subtle grace, he caught up with the vehicle as it made a right turn down the Ga-Metruan streets. Slowly and carefully, he hovered inside, careful not to rouse the suspicion of the Vahki inside. With great care, he hovered around it, hovered to behind it, and set himself down, careful not to make a sound. Levelling his launcher, he took careful aim, only realising when the Vahki turned around that his launcher had made some noise upon folding out of its hoverboard form. His heart skipped a beat, and it was at that precise interval that Okuo pulled the trigger on his launcher, firing the disk and knocking the Vahki back and into the air. The levitation effect carried it into the air as the Ta-Metruan kanoka sent the robot flying out of the transport, leaving it to haplessly drift away from the vehicle.

Knowing he didn't have much time, Okuo quickly picked up his kanoka and put his launcher on his back, moving directly on to opening the pod within which Vhisola was being kept. He hoped, he prayed, he pleaded he wasn't too late.

IC: Othorak- Le-Metru streets

"Matoran gangs. Pfft!"  Othorak spit at the notion that Matoran could handle any sort of violent interaction.  He had dealt with countless of them, and all of them quaked under the threat of his might.  If the graffiti were simple messages, or art even, then Othorak spat just the same.  He hated the Matoran.  they were so naive, so weak.  he was glad to be chosen for his mission.  He was glad to hurt them.

He spent all day laying as low as possible.  But every second he felt could be his last, before being found out.  He wouldn't admit it, but Othorak was afraid what might happen if he were found out.  Vahki were easy enough, when in small number, but he was just one man, against an entire city.  Add into that the presence of the Dark hunters and all their weird abominations, well, who could be asked to predict what may happen?  How would one even prepare to fight some random mercenary of their order?  Othorak had to succeed, he had to press on, before he could be stopped.

His ears told him he was close to a hub of activity.  His eyes soon followed, with how many airships he began seeing flying in and out of the space ahead of him.  He dashed into the darkness behind one apparently-active building before the Vahki patrols could see him.  He could hear the ships and hear the crowds.  He was too close now; there was no turning back.  "But how do I go forward?"

After a moment of adrenaline-fueled thought, he realized, "not forward, up." Othorak began to climb the fire escape in this alley.  It was Matoran-sized, so instead of truly using it, he just scaled the outside of it.  The metal creaked and clanged under his weight, but the sounds of the busy Metru drowned out any noise he produced.  As he climbed closer to the rooftop, he could begin making out figures and shapes churning through the chutes above.  There was no turning back now.  Othorak tried to plan how he would make his first move.  "There's no point in subtlety anymore.  I have to play my hand.  I will overpower them; I'll force my way forward."  His mind was made up.

On the rooftop, Othorak could clearly see the docks' plaza below him.  He crouched and traversed the rooftop, sure that his mighty footsteps were bellowing throughout the building below him.  "No turning back now."  There were countless Matoran bustling to and fro.  A few chute entrances and exits with people and cargo utilizing both.  But mainly, there were several platforms where airships hovered or landed as they loaded and unloaded.  Vahki stood guard at every corner, some of them were even the newer models.  They watched every movement.  "I have to take away their advantage," Othorak pondered.  After a moment, he knew how to negate the Vahki's numbers.  He stood at the building's edge.  He cared not for who might see him.  The entire City of Legends would see him now.

Othorak loosed his sword before jumping off the building.

THUNK! He landed on his feet, and momentum carried his offhand's fist to the metal beneath him as well.  As he rose, he let his gaze wonder around the plaza.  All activity stopped for the briefest of moments as every active pair of eyes turned towards this sudden appearance.  Then the panic started.  And that's when Othorak yelled, "Fear me!  The League has come for Metru-Nui!"  His pride overcoming any fear or rationality, he proudly strode onward, towards a docked airship across the plaza.  The Vahki all became alert and began to approach him, but every actor moved slowly as a stampede of Matoran overflowed across the open plaza.  Everywhere, the little ones screamed, many trembled in place too afraid to move, some hid behind the nearest crate or shipment.  Most of them stampeded, though.  They ran every which way, and Vahki everywhere had to keep maneuvering around them.  It was like a rainbow had crashed into the surface and splintered into a hundred pieces across the platform.  Othorak began to pick up his pace, knocking Matoran down as they ran past his thick legs, and even swatting a few with the broad side of his sword, just to feel powerful.  In this moment- with the Vahki blocked from advancing by the panicked crowd of Matoran, and his targeted airship so close to his grasp- Othorak felt proud, and powerful, and was already dreaming of the praise he would personally receive from Kalmah once he returned form his mission.

OOC: @Nato the Traveler You may want to follow that squad of Vahki about to sprint towards a screaming stampede up ahead...

IC: Reliable Narrator | Ga-Metru
The vahki transport glided through the streets of Ga-Metru quickly. Most of the vahki aboard the transporter were tucked into racks along the roof and powered off, maintaining as much of their internal battery as possible before docking with a charging hive. One remained powered on in the central cargo area of the transporter, watching the city float by through the open bay doors before Okuo made it float away.  Another worked the steering and power for the craft by providing its clockwork processors as an outsourced computing system for the onboard driving technology. It was unable to see what occurred.
The lid of the copper colored containment sphere opened with a hiss as Okuo pushed the release button . A horrid smell of burnt organics and a cloud of rancid vapor wafted past him. Vhisola lay curled up in the pod, half of her and the interior cushioning twisted, pock-marked, and tortured by the acid from the zamor sphere. the armor covering her body bent at strange angles, as if she'd been hammered out of shape. The acid corroded part of her heartlight panel, but the soft yellow glow beat out a timid rhythm. She was unconscious, terribly hurt, and alive. Okuo noticed a small slot on the side of the containment sphere with Vhisola's kanohi tucked inside.

IC: Okuo - Ga-Metru

A mix of emotions went through Okuo. Horror at the sight of Vhisola's state. Then, relief upon seeing that she was still alive. But now a conundrum. From the looks of it, she didn't seem like she could endure time out of the pod without her mask, but at the same time, if he put it on her, she would no doubt experience terrible pain upon regaining consciousness. On the other hand, it was unlikely he could inconspicuously retrieve the pod from the transport and carry it all the way to a safe hiding place. For one it was heavy, probably too heavy for anyone but a toa to carry. Even if he used his levitation kanoka on it, the effect would only last so long before the thing started falling. Then again, perhaps he could utilise that in a short burst.

After ensuring no more harm would come to Vhisola from residual acids, and checking that the pod was still operational, Okuo closed it again, took out his kanoka launcher, and fired, sending the pod flying out of the vehicle. Flying after it was Okuo on his hoverboard, invisible once more, grabbing onto it mid-air and carrying the weightless sphere off to the flat rooftop of a tall building where he could place it down. Having evaded detection by the Vahki, Okuo returned to his visible state, checking in once more on Vhisola's state before sitting down and taking out his iStone. It was time to find the nearest Kanoka repository.

IC: Sidra - Le Metru (Airship Docks)

The Dark Huntress typed a quick command into her iStone, recalling her nektann back to her before sprinting after the Vahki squad. After a few minutes of keeping pace with the machines, distant sounds of all-too-apparent panic caught her attention. She stopped in the street, turning her gaze towards the airship docks and activating the telescopic lens on her mask. Terrified Matoran were scrambling around the docks, several of them being struck aside by the towering figure of the titan terrorist.

For a moment, she felt a pang of legitimate sympathy for the Matoran. She was a killer, but she wasn't cruel. She'd spent so much of her life being feared without due cause, and as such she had nothing but disdain for those who enjoyed inflicting fear.

She spotted a stack of crates situated near the edge of the docks that was ideal for her purposes. Focusing on the shadow the crates were casting, Sidra activated her mask and stepped forth into her own shadow...

...she fell down into nothingness, overcome by an unnatural chill as she stumbled through the black. For a moment, she thought she felt something brush past her leg, thought she heard something hiss on her other side...

...and then she rose up from the shadow cast by the crates. She clambered up on top of the stack to find herself roughly the same distance from the target as he was from the airship he seemed determined to head towards. Fearful Matoran were still scattered across the platform, cowering furtively behind cover, their fleeing figures keeping the Vahki at bay. Sidra drew her rhotuka launched and fired, the sharpened projectile slicing through the sky - well above the height of Matoran, so as not to risk collateral damage - before sweeping down under Sidra's mental guidance towards Othorak's legs.

Turaga Dume's public presentations hadn't been clear about whether he wanted the terrorist alive, but he also hadn't specified that he wanted him dead, so Sidra decided to play it safe and only try to incapacitate the target... for now.

IC: Reliable Narrator Ga-Metru

Okuo found several kanoka disc sellers in the neighborhood. The closest was a few blocks away from the college, with good ratings and Ga-Metru disks up to a power rating of four. He'd have to navigate the rooftops carefully with his new pal the containment sphere or risk getting spotted by the vahki. Speaking of…
The bordakh chasing Waveahk proved difficult to lose. Their ability to swim confounded him after his initial exposure to the rorzakh. In the end, he realized the only way to out pace the robots involved going beyond their operating range from the charging hive they'd been assigned.

IC: Othorak - Airship Docks

Sliiiccceeee! Pain.  That's what Othorak processed.  The Steltian knew pain.  He'd endured his own battles, and would never forget how it felt to survive the Steltian fighting pits.  His betrayal was discovered, and his kin threw him into one.  Even as the League stormed the island, and warships filled the air with explosions and smoke, the gladiators remained fighting.  Most of the audience were fleeing, yet a few stubborn members remained just to see Othorak fall.  Only, he did not fall.  Foe after foe fell to his blade.  He withstood a dozen knives penetrating his chest as he crushed his foe's head with his hands.  He blacked out in that pit, awaking briefly during some excruciating surgery, then again in a recovery ward of some League medical retreat.  His chest had been repaired- upgraded, even- but his memories of the pain felt that day would never fade.

This pain was nothing compared to what Othorak felt the day Stelt fell.  Some rhotuka had whizzed its way through the stampede of Matoran.  Othorak noticed, and tripped up some trying to avoid it, but once in motion, a titan like himself was hard to stop so suddenly.  The rhotuka hadn't really hurt him- it nearly missed him completely, just grazing the surface of his furthest-forward calf.  But there was a noticeable gash covering the greater part of that calf.  He could still use the leg, though.  In fact, Othorak thought about using that leg to kick the head off whoever dared strike him.

With fury in his eyes, Othorak turned his head towards the attacker. "Hmm..." Othorak attempted to analyze his foe in a moment.  "Some Hunter, surely.  Takadox's kin.  I must avoid his gaze."  Othorak wasn't the most knowledgeable about the intricacies of ever race in the universe, yet he did know enough about each of the Barraki's species to know that Takadox had many minions who seemed enthralled by the blue beast after daring to meet his eyes.  Othorak looked down at his leg as the blood began to swell, and grimaced, evil oozing out his maw.

The Vahki were more aggressively moving Matoran out their way.  It would be less than a minute before he was buried under a pile of them.  Othorak couldn't afford to linger.  He ignored his flesh wound, and focused on activating his mask.  "Let's see this thug try and stop me now!"  Othorak's mind flashed with feelings of pride and visions of Kalmah shaking his hand after a job well done, as well as imagining one Le-Metru Rahi in particular: an Artakha Bull.  Legends said these creatures were smart, but Othorak didn't care about that.  Instead, he needed one's speed and leg strength, partly to forget the pain in his calf when he started sprinting towards his targeted airship.  He took off, fast.  Faster than otherwise possible, though this was no Kakama.  Matoran couldn't get out of the way fast enough as his large legs kicked them aside or ran them down.  A few Vahki tried blasting him, but they feared hitting the Matoran, and their shots were too cautiously high to make their mark.  Othorak would soon be at the docked airship, and the Matoran cowering inside of it would be within his grasp...

IC: Sidra - Le Metru (Airship Docks)

She didn't bother trying to chase down the titan directly. She knew she wouldn't be able to keep pace with him through the crowd, and once her mask recharged she could simply close the distance via teleportation. Instead, she remained where she was and loosed another two rhotuka in quick succession at Othorak, once again aiming for his legs.

IC: Othorak, Airship Docks

Othorak's momentum was accelerating as he was closing the gap between him and the airship.  Maybe this would all go smoother than expected? No, it couldn't.  Life was never so easy.  As he ran forward, he looked backwards, and saw the crooked mercenary firing upon him again.  These Rhotuka were fast, and Othorak couldn't afford to calculate every step.  He let his Steltian instinct take over.  Steltians were naturally cutthroat and bloody.  While not as recklessly violent as Skakdi or as scheming as Vortixx, they understood more than most the balance between violence and respect.  If one could not project power and punish challenges, then one was doomed to be a slave, forever.  Othorak was no slave.  Othorak was a fighter, and a victor.

He jumped in the air and grabbed a panicking Le-Matoran's face as he ascended.  Othorak's concentration wavered, resulting in his Faxon ceasing activities, though the bull Rahi's powers may no longer have been needed.  As he jumped, his momentum carried his large frame forwards, and the first of the Rhotuka swept beneath his feet.  As he fell, he increased his grip on the powerless Matoran's skull, and whipped the green worker's entire body back behind him.  The second Rhotuka would spill blood, but it would only be that of the nameless Matoran whom Othorak used as a shield of sorts.  The sick pleasure Othorak derived from the sight only barely outweighed the terror he felt at understanding how lethal these blasts could be.  One misstep, a single miscalculation, and it wouldn't just be his mission ending.

The airship was several bio away still.  As he ran forward again, Othorak wracked his mind for a more clever Rahi to mimic, yet his thoughts were interrupted as a newer-model Vahki dove at him.  Othorak's blade matched the staff of the robot, and the two entered a contest of strength as this skirmish prolonged itself.

IC: Sidra - Le-Metru (Airship Docks)

With only a split-second to react, she tried to redirect her rhotuka, but was too slow, the projectile striking down the hapless Matoran flailing in Othorak's grasp. Sidra grimaced, holstering her launcher and drawing her sword. I guess we're doing this the hard way.

She powered up her mask, falling through her shadow and emerging from the shadow of a stack of equipment near where Othorak was dueling the Vahki.

"Coward!" She bellowed, brandishing her blade in Othorak's direction, "Face me!"

IC: Othorak, Skirmish at the Docking Bay

It was hard to hear anything outside of the screaming Matoran and Othorak's own racing mind.  Yet one voice could be heard cutting through the crowd as precisely as those Rhotuka sliced through whatever lay in their path.  "Coward! "Face me!"

"Fine," Othorak thought.  He drove his shoulder into the Vahki, and while the emotionless police robot lurched back a bit, Othorak spun around to face his emerald foe.  "HAAAAAAAHH!!" Othorak was more impatient than angry as he clenched his free fist and fired off a Rhotuka from his chest.  Eerie wisps of jade evaporated behind the revolving projectile as it sped back at the Dark Hunter.  Othorak swung his broadsword back behind him and turned towards the Vahki again, which had ducked beneath Othorak's blade.  The two squared off again, and Othorak kicked the Vahki's knee, more to buy himself time to reset his sword stance than to cripple the enforcer, and without his full strength behind the attack, the armored Vahki wouldn't be defeated so easily.

IC: Sidra - Le Metru (Airships Docks)

Nope.

Sidra dived to the side, landing in a practiced roll that would have been far more graceful if she hadn't landed amidst a pair of fleeing Matoran. Hastily disentangling herself from them, she stalked towards Othorak, calling out to him once again, "There's no way out of this for you! Surrender peacefully, and the Vahki might be merciful. If not.... I won't be."

IC: Kovac Krossfari - Ga-Metru

His eyes rested on the Matoran rescuer who'd seemingly been able to evade the Vahki and retrieve Vhisola from whatever horrible fate the corrupt police force had in mind for her. Perhaps he was a virtuous soul after all.

Were it not for the Vahki, though, none of the dangerous complications that transpired in the apartment would have happened. Kovac Krossfari, however, had a feeling that particular message was going to stick to Okuo.

Metru-Nui's Shadow slunk into the dark, bruised and defeated, but with renewed zeal. There was little he could do now, but plenty for the future.

IC: Othorak, Docking Bay Skirmish

Othorak was beginning to lose his cool.  So he did the only thing he could do in these types of situations.  He swung at the Vahki, and as expected, his blade was blocked, and as expected, the Vahki counter attacked, so Othorak unleashed his true attack, shoving his strength behind a counter-riposte which caught the Vahki off balance.  Othorak's blade sunk into the shoulder armor of the robot.  Had this been a normal unit, surely it would have been cleft in twain.  These new units were... something else, though.  Othorak had no time to test how much of a beating one unit could take, though.  The Matoran, while still practically stampeding, were beginning to thin out somewhat, or at least find more shelter.  The Vahki were closing in, as was this Dark Hunter.  Othorak was running out of time.  He ripped his sword form the Vahki and simply punched its chest, sending it back a bit and giving Othorak at least some breathing room, all while his emerald foe stalked closer to him with those ominous eyes.   "There's no way out of this for you! Surrender peacefully, and the Vahki might be merciful. If not.... I won't be." Othorak was confident he could take this foe in a simple fight, but this was just slaughter, and Ohtorak had motives beyond mindless slaughter.  The Vahki's high-pitched voice made it hard to think, but before any more foes could enter swinging-distance of the Steltian, he found a way out.

Othorak's gaze switched form the Dark Hunter to the airship he desperately needed to board.  He had watched the flight crew board it and some laborers move cargo onto it before he began his assault, so he knew that the flight staff were safely hunkered down inside.  Progress had to be made; he wasn't in the mood to die trying.  Othorak focused again, activating his Kanohi Faxon.  He assumed the powers of another bull, a Fader Bull to be precise.  These creatures were notoriously skittish, and had the ability to simply blip away from frightening foes.  Othorak would make use of this ability now, as he allowed his essence to blip several kilo forward and away from his attackers.  The Vahki all frantically swerved their heads in the moments immediately following the supposed vanishing of the red-and-lime titan.

Othorak felt a bad headache coming on.  Rapid switching between Rahi powers could range from a minor headache to severe pain throughout his skull, depending on how strenuous and how frequently he used his Kanohi powers.  He had only rarely used this power before, and every time teleportation seemed to mess with his sense of balance and mental clarity.  Put simply, Othorak preferred to barge into a room than to just appear in it.  Still, he made it inside the airship.  Wasting no time and ignoring the slight mind ache, Othorak stomped deeper into the cargo bay, discovering several Le-Matoran cowering behind one especially big box.  He grabbed one green Matoran with a matching Matatu by the throat, hoisting him way above the ground as he snarled, "which way to the pilot's chamber? Answer me!" Then Othorak threw the Matoran on the ground, before picking him right back up again.  He tried not to clench the poor victim;s throat too tightly, so he could listen to the response.  A meek voice and a strained finger pointing to a ladder further inside which led up to the center of the ship gave Othorak the answer he needed.  The Steltian dropped the Matoran, then grabbed his foot before dragging his victim behind him as he began walking back towards the ladder.

IC: Sidra - Le-Metru (Airship)

She was used to targets who ran. She was used to targets who fought.

What she wasn't used to was targets who completely ignored her, to run away and fight someone else.

This being didn't seem to have any regard for those who were coming after him, or those who got in his way. Sidra wasn't sure if he even cared what happened to himself. He seemed utterly focused on completing his objective, whatever it was. And that objective clearly had something to do with the airship he'd blurred towards, so that was where Sidra went, shouting at Matoran to get out of her way as she bolted towards the vessel.

IC: Othorak, Cargo Airship

Othorak released his grip on the Matoran when they made it to the ladder. "Climb," he commanded, and so the Matoran did, whimpering with every step.  He turned back around to see a few of the small, green laborers running out of the airship, but what bothered him more was the large, green mercenary running into the airship.  Othorak spat as he jumped up and followed the Matoran captive, though climbing the ladder was a bit awkward.  Maybe it was the adrenaline or just Othorak's annoyance with the sniveling Le-Matoran, but he seemed to fly right up the ladder.  He pinched the Le-Matoran behind his neck with one hand and kept his sword raised defensively with the other as he forced him and his hostage forward.  His large frame barely fit inside the doorway to the cockpit.

Inside, he found three Matoran, one at each console to the left, center, and right of the far side of the room, pressed up against the glass.  Through the window, Othorak could see the chaotic scene he had caused.  The streets were clearing of everyone who wasn't an armored war machine.  It was like someone had disturbed a nest of hungry Nui-Rama!  He could see the chutes flowing into the stations halting, and chutes flowing out of the station were increasingly full of more and more Matoran.  But he wasn't here to gaze out windows.  It was time to finish step 2.

"If you don't get this ship in the air in the next 2 seconds I'm going to squeeze the head off of this worm then beat each of you to death with it!"  His animalistic tone let the pilots know he meant it.  The three pilots exchanged glances with each other.  Then they complied, and the airship started to take off...

Ic: Reliable Narrator, Ta-Metru

The party of disc hunters worked their way through the smoky and ashen fire pits toward the momentous Great Furnace on the other side. Above them large buckets on rails carted scrapped works toward the pits and the nearby buildings to be melted into slag and fed to the Great Furnace. Some of these rails and conveyer belts went through openings in the Furnace's upper stories. The sun cut through the smoke and glinted off the vortixx's armor. She stood out like a sore thumb in this place built for matoran and toa. The Swordsman noticed something strange about the lava rock pebbles their feet crunched into between large open pits of flame: the matoran's feet left very big footsteps. Stranger still, the lava rock pebbles occasionally had the seeds of some plant scattered in the mix.

As the three grew near the Great Furnace, a monumental structure full of so much residual heat they felt it from where they stood, they realized vahki guarded the doors. Would they try and bluff their way in against robots known for being uninterested in verbal deception, or would they find another way in?

Happy chat.

IC: The Swordsman - Ta-Metru

I paused suddenly before deactivating my Kanohi, causing Zecrillia to awkwardly bump into me. I didn't react, simply raising a black-armored hand to signal my companions to stop.

"Vahki guards. Wanna try anything? We could politely ask for entry."

I doubted they would go that route.

IC: Sidra - Le-Metru (Airship)

Sidra stumbled to a halt as the airship began its ascent. She was close, but not close enough to make that jump.

But she didn't need to.

She pulled out one of her nektann drones and pitched the silvery orb through the open hatch of the airship. It struck the floor, bounced slightly, then started to roll, before it unfolded its legs and anchored itself. It peered around, its camera ignoring the cargo and workers to locate the darkest corner of the interior.

Watching the feed via her iStone, Sidra activated her mask, sinking through her own shadow and emerging inside the airship a moment later.

Seeing no sign of the titan in the hold, she surmised he was most likely at the bridge, and started moving in the opposite direction, towards the rear of the airship. Brushing aside the pleading hands of frightened Matoran, she stepped into the rear engine chamber, and started tearing loose every cable and pipe she could find connecting to the chute system that gave the ship its propulsion. If she could disconnect it, the hijacker would be able to do nothing with the vessel except go up and down.

IC: Jephro-Beach Asault @Biological Chronicler

Jephro sighed. "Well, one of the generals singled me out. I managed to beat him. And then the ground. " He pointed towards the crater where he had been fighting. "It just exploded."

"I hate it when the ground explodes too." he said, continuing to apply his remedies. "What did the general single you out for? I can't believe anyone that high up in the Barraki army could be that stupid. Maybe this war will be over sooner than we thought."

IC: Barak - Ta Metru Furnaces - @Tarn@Darth Jaller

Barak shrunk back at the site of the vahki guards at once. Once they detected him, there would be no maintaining his masquerade.

"No, no,no!" Barak exclaimed, sounding more nervous and skakdi-like than he went. "This isn't the way it was supposed to go! We have to find another way in! Now!"

IC: Tekmo and Waveahk (Ga-Metru, Waterways)

Waveahk began swimming in the direction of Ta-Metru, which should be well out of range for this particular Vahki Hive.

Tekmo swam after Waveahk as fast as his body would let him, but maintaining speed with the aquatic assassin proved to be impossible, especially since he needed to come up for air, whereas the assassin apparently didn't. Neither did the Vahki, as they were robots, and could also swim better than he could, easily speeding past him as he ran out of energy. He eventually lost sight of both Waveahk and the Vahki.

He clambered topside, gasping for air, soaking wet. Clearly, pursuing the assassin on his own terms - in the water - was an impossibility. 'Giving up' wasn't a term Tekmo liked the sound of, but... it seemed that the entire city was being flushed down the drain, and he was powerless to stop it...

IC: Reliable Narrator, everywhere

Mazor felt magnetically attracted to the glowing orb. The lightning inside crackled and sputtered brightly as his hands wrapped around its surface. Heavy despite its size, it had the strangest feeling of surface tension when held. Was it a solid or a liquid? Before Mazor could think deeper, the world disappeared from view and his eyes rolled back in his emaciated skull. Everything happened between two instants. The world blinked and Mazor was gone.
Crawling from the chrysalis of time, Mazor fell into the void. Without even a line to base reality on, Mazor existed alone. His thoughts rolled out from him, conversing with themselves. He saw his youth, his work with the Dark Hunters, his present life on the run, and strange and twisted versions of all the possible future lives he lived. He felt strangely connected to the nothingness of his own life in this place between time. It was comfortable existing without meaning or purpose. Mazor lost definition of himself. He was the void, the unspeaking unseeing unfeeling unthinking something found in nothingness. Was Mazor even something? Mazor let his existence, his subjectivity, spindle outward and unravel.
Then the void pushed back.
He had never been alone here.
And all at once Mazor felt very real and very, very small.

Something weird pet his mind as if he were nothing but a docile rahi, and then his eyes flickered open as he returned to reality. Mazor lay on the floor of the cavern in a pool of his own puke. Pushing himself up with an elbow he realized the orb had changed from a strange sphere to a tiny silver cube and his arm felt drenched as if a balloon filled with water popped in his hands.
For everyone else in the grotto, when Mazor’s hand touched the orb the red glow of the suva pulsed twice then went out, as did all light in the grotto, and the party’s breathing echoed in the darkness. The silence slowly filled with the sounds of their heartlights beating in sync to something old. In the cave’s umbra something moved. It uncoiled from the shadows, dripped from the ceiling, and slowly twitched with pulsing veins around the party’s feet. It smelled of ash and rotting protodermis. The suva in the cave regained its glow after a few moments and Mazor slumped to the floor. Something changed: strange metal obelisks up to a toa’s height were embedded in the floor, walls, and ceiling. Red symbols written in an unknown and freshly painted script covered their surface, and the veins in the carved pillars around the suva pumped with an organic rhythm. The stalactites of repentant matoran gave off otherworldly moans but remained unmoving. The crew of The Ripple felt watched by something behind them, but no matter where they turned no one could be seen...

Pridak leaned back into his sofa as Nidhiki exited the throne room, the softest tap of his Turaga staff echoing from beyond the closed door.  The Barraki leader opened his mouth to speak, but a blinding flash of red light made him flinch. The world suddenly grew dark and cold. The stars flickered. When the suns reappeared the stars and moons remained in the sky. The world felt alien. The tides rushed away, pulled far out from shore, then rushed in with all the collected force. Ships battered against the docks and broke.
"What was that?" Takadox yelped, his sensitive eyes most affected by the red blast.
"A success," Carapar replied with a shrug. Kalmah looked out toward the sky from the window with a concerned frown…

As the fight on the rocky beach began to cede to a Metru-Nui victory, a blinding band of red light filled the sky. It stretched across the Heavens in a wide ring to settle on the horizon. Time itself seemed altered and out of sync. As Pardehi worked to save Jephro his head turned as something twitched on the beach. He couldn't tell what, but something moved. Rose in the bluff saw something twitch as well out of the corner of her eye. The fingers on one of the dead moved. Surely it was just the newly arrived howling winds?
In the City of Legends, Turaga Dume felt weak. His knees wobbled and he sank back into his desk chair as the sky permanently changed. Looking out through the open doorway to the balcony of the Coliseum, the elderly Turaga had a perfect view of the changes.
"Did Artahka actually do it?" He muttered to himself. "He couldn't possibly have felt this desperate."
A matoran page knocked on the hallway door and entered. She look terrified. With her were scholars from each Metru.
"We need answers," the scholars said sternly. Not even a how are you how was lunch did you also see the freakish change in the sky?
"I agree," Turaga Dume said as he regained composure. He tightly wrung his hands beneath the desk. "Lhikan said the heavens would change if his plan succeeded. I did not imagine he had this much sway with the stars. I will speak with him one more time. Maybe he's repented enough in that cell to be of use to his people."
"Lhikan predicted this, but you didn't say?"
"He's said many things. He was babbling when captured in the Great Temple. You don't expect me to take everything a murderer says seriously do you, Nuju?"
"You should when he was the protector of this island. When prophets speak the faithful should listen."
"Well," Turaga Dume sniffed, "he'd stopped being any form of prophet by the time he said anything useful. Leave. I'll get your answers."
The matoran nodded and shuffled from the room. He heard them whispering in the hallway, then realized they'd seen him in a moment of weakness. The matoran needed a strong leader or they would fracture as they were prone, not an elderly man in glasses pinched to his mask. Rising, he approached a mirror in the corner of the office. He stared himself down, counting his flaws and hardening them, pushing his weakness and grief aside into the small metaphorical jar he kept tightly sealed in his heartlight. He froze as a shape appeared behind him. He knew who it was, but it didn't make sense. They'd plagued him in dreams for weeks on end. The shadowy specter placed a cold hand on his shoulder. He felt nails digging into him through his robes. Warm breath passed his audio receptors as they leaned down close and whispered; "Hello Turaga. It's time."

As they made their way from the cave the crew of The Ripple stared in awe at the changed weather. The storm surrounding the island vanished, replaced by an eerie ring of crimson on the horizon in all directions. Wherever they looked, the color stained the furthest point. Further concerning, the stars and moons lit the afternoon sky alongside the twin suns. The tide came in harsher, and withdrew quicker and further than previously noted. Several dead fish floated on the water’s surface, and when someone got hit with sea spray they noticed it was oddly warm. Then they heard the howls of the haunted, and saw the swiftly shambling corpses of nynrah ghosts clambering ungainly and bloated from the wreck of The Tactical Panda.

IC: Zaliyah - Nynrah Wreck

Zaliyah, who had remained at the ship while the others had been exploring the grotto, was understandably disturbed to find the corpses around her begin to move. She clambered out of the ship, retreating towards the others as the corpses began rapidly shambling forth from their resting places.

"What did you do?" She demanded, glowering at her companions.

IC: Okuo - Ga-Metru

Pinpointing a disk seller only a few blocks away, Okuo got back up and turned invisible again, peering over the edge of the rooftop to make sure there was no one looking up into the sky, especially no vahki. Having ensured the secrecy of his and Vhisola's traversal of the Ga-Metru building tops, utilising his previous method of the levitation disk to keep her pod weightless. Eventually the two of them descended onto a low rooftop across the street from the disk seller, out of sight of prying eyes, especially any Vahki. Although there was no angle from which the sphere could be seen from down below, anyone knowing to look up there would be able to spot activity, which would be helpful as he left the pod on its own. There were no windows with an angle on the roof, which meant the pod would be completely hidden from the city in general.

Invisible as the air around him, Okuo silently approached the disk seller, casing out the place while regularly looking back up at the roof where Vhisola's pod rested, keeping an eye out for two distinct disks: A regeneration disk, and either a disk of healing or the component disks to make it. Remove Poison was also something he considered, but prioritised less than the other two.

IC: Tekmo (Ga-Metru)

As Tekmo rose to his feet off the floor, the shock of the red flash across the sky startled him, and he stumbled backwards, falling back into the water. Panicked exclamations became bubbling nonsense as he gurgled incoherently.

As he climbed back out again, he stared in horror at the sudden change in the atmosphere. He had been struck with the sense that something wasn't quite right all day. Now he had been run over with it. Trembling with abject fear, he slowly made his way back onto his feet.

He began running. He didn't know where he was running or why he was running, only that he was.

IC: Waveahk (Ta-Metru)

During his chase with the Vahki, Waveahk could have sworn he saw a powerful red light above the water, disappearing as quickly as he noticed it. He was now within the limits of Ta-Metru, far beyond the jurisdiction of the Bordakh, who retreated back to their Hive.

He knew that every drop of water in Ta-Metru eventually goes to cool the furnaces, so he leaped out of the canal, sneaked into a dark alleyway and-what was wrong with the sky?!

Waveahk punched himself to confirm whether or not this way reality. It was. This unsettled him.

IC: Ostrox (Silver Sea, The Ripple)

While he rested aboard the ship itself, Ostrox briefly noticed the sky glow red. He made his way above deck to see what it was all about, to be greeted with the lovely sight of what could best be described as the end of the world.

He hoped the crew would come back soon. Or die, either or. He didn't want to stick around to see what came next...

OOC: in before we get hit by cosmic waves

IC Kanohi - The Taku

Kanohi’s hands had trembled slightly at the mention of Po-Metru. He … he knew a number of refugees from Fe-Koro had immigrated there, as had some of the Matoran from Bo-Wahi. He … he wasn’t sure if he could face them, not after all he failed to do. His hand drifted over to the broken masks covering his body, adjusting them to hide even more of his orange and black body.

Finally after some fidgeting with his armor, he managed to say, “When we arrive in Po-Metru, I-I-I will stay by the ship. Maybe I can fix the broken engine. At-at least I can fix the hull.”

IC: Zecrillia - Ta-Metru

"I don't see why we shouldn't."

Recovering her balance after the unceremonious crash into the suddenly visible again Swordsman, Zecrillia frowned slightly but didn't seem troubled. Certainly not as troubled as Gessai, who was panicking besides her. A weird development, to her; he was the one of them who had all the proper authorisation, right? Unless the punishment for bringing supposed trespassers into the furnaces was harsher than the punishment for said trespassers themselves.

Or maybe the Matoran was just naturally jittery. That could be it too.

"The Turaga himself authorised the search for the disks, right? We just tell them we're complying with Dume's orders, they'll get out of our way."

Unless the Vahki hadn't been programmed with information about the disk hunt; either to make things more challenging for the participants, or to prevent ne'er-do-wells from taking advantage of the hunt to go places they shouldn't. From what she'd heard about Dume, it actually wasn't hard to imagine that being the case... Zecrillia slowed, reconsidering her answer.

"Or there's always finding a sneaky way in. You're pretty good at sneaking-" she nodded at the Swordsman "-and you're tiny-" that was directed at the Matoran "-so that just leaves the only not-stealthy one of us being..."

She frowned.

"Me."

IC: Varxii - Silver Sea, Nynrah Wreck

Well... karz.

And that was thought with considerable feeling.

The darkness - including the extinguishing of all light they'd brought with them - had been bad enough. The sense of something moving had been worse. Then the eerie light coming back, revealing Mazor possibly unconscious, obelisks that surely hadn't been there before... the suddenly increased sense of having walked straight into the gullet of something huge and living pressed down upon her, and Varxii suddenly wanted more than to lash out in all directions with her powers, to reduce this place to rubble, to fight back against this WHATEVER it was that felt like it was swallowing them all whole. She grit her teeth, and sparks danced around her clenched fists for several long, long seconds before she was able to force down the impulse.

Still, the back of her neck prickled, like something was watching her. The Vo-Toa hunched her shoulders instinctively, hating the sense of being so vulnerable.

...for what consolation it was, she was at least relieved that it hadn't been her who had touched the orb; she'd feel a lot worse than unnerved and vulnerable if she was the one lying semi-conscious on the floor there, Varxii was sure.

She was intensely glad when the command to retreat was given. The Vo-Toa didn't bother with words, but made sure to be one of the first out of the cave. Outside, the storm would be comforting, would surround her by her own element again, would--

It was gone.

The storm was gone, replaced by a bloodstained crimson sky that shamed even the most spectacular sunset Varxii had seen on her home-island. Not only that, but more seemed amiss than simply the sky; the weather, the very atmosphere seemed to have changed, and the Toa didn't like it one bit. She would, quite frankly, have preferred to have been back in the middle of the raging thunderstorm, even staring up at those infinitely vast and dangerous dragons, than this. There, at least, she'd been in her own element.

And the howls and moans coming from the direction of the Nynrah wreck didn't make her feel any better either.

"Are you KIDDING me right now? Zombies, on top of everything?!"

IC: Jabali - Po-Metru Chute Station

Well. Great start.

Ignoring the glaring eyepiece on the Fe-Matoran's mask, Jabali drew herself up a little straighter than her already-rigid stature. The other's tone wasn't necessarily impolite, but it did tell her well enough that he would much rather be about his business than listen to her, unless she had something to say that he particularly wanted to hear. But then again, that was most of her interactions every day, wasn't it? No-one wanted to be told what they should or shouldn't be doing, least of all by a Po-girl who thought herself bigger than she really was.

Well, that was too bad. Because she'd got very used to those kinds of interactions.

"And if I did know? You still wouldn't be able to go there without official permission. Those are the rules, sir."

She put a bit more emphasis on the form of address than was strictly needed. That wasn't to say whether she did or didn't know what he was asking for; sure, Jabali had seen the Toa going here or there about their business, in the weeks and months before they'd been removed from jurisdiction over Metru Nui, but she'd mostly just kept well out of their way. Toa business wasn't her concern, not when she'd had a pair of carvers to chastise for slacking off at the same time.

Besides which, if she said that yes, she did know where the Toa had been around here, what was going to keep this group from trying to slip their search past her, wasting everyone's valuable time in the process? Better to simply head them off now.

(ooc: @Unreliable Narrator - just wondering whether Jabali did ought to know anything about the Mangai's activities in Po-Metru or not? I didn't want to just make something up and then find it went against what you had planned ^^)

IC: Othorak, skies above Le and Ta-Metru border

For five or six or seven minutes now, the cockpit of the hijacked airship was silent.  The Matoran Othorak held hostage seemed dead already, perhaps resigned to his fate.  Othorak watched proudly as the view outside the window slowly changed form the technological jungles of Le-Metru to the more worn and working metal manufactures of Ta-Metru.  Just as the airship began to enter this new district's airspace, though, a flash of red obscured the sky.  The ship rocked, and the Matoran held hostage frantically worked to right the balance, else they risked the titan's wrath.  But when they regained balance, the sky outside seemed changed, and the ship itself began to slow.

"Why are we slowing?" Othorak stomped his foot on the ground.  "You!" He pointed his sword at one of the pilots. "Go fix whatever was thrown off with the engine!"  He stomped his foot again, leaving a mark in the cabin, and the Matoran pilot ran quickly out the room and down towards the engine.

Othorak's mind began to worry.  He had come so close, whatever magic worked the skies and brought the stars out in the middle of the day would not stop him now.  He came too far, he could not fail.

OOC: @Nato the Traveler your turn with the Matoran ;)

IC: Sans, Protodermis Pool

Sans was impressed with the quick thinking of the Matoran.  Had his own bravery inspired imitation? He hoped so.  He hoped to inspire every Matoran he could to rise to a new level and be the best hero they could be.  The time for heroism seemed to temporarily have been abated, and Sans extended a hand.  The pool around them all began to sway, as he worked the protodermis into a current that carried them out of their current predicament.  He brought the four of them onto the land, then let out a, "huhuhuhuhu," before he began walking back towards the starting chute station.  "Let's go back.  If at first we fail, we simply try again, my friends.  Together, we shall not fail!

OOC: @EmperorWhenua @Onaku @Crimson Jester feel free to chime in but I think we're all just going back and starting over

IC: Vyarik - Ta-Metru (Streets)

The skies over Ta-Metru often had a fiery tone to them, but something seemed off when he cast his eyes skyward in that moment. Beyond the smoke haze, the stars and moons were visible above even though the suns still shone.

Vyarik wasn't one to put his faith in portents and omens, but even he could feel that this signaled... something.

IC: Sidra - Le-Metru (Airship)

As the Matoran ventured into the engine compartment, he found Sidra waiting for him.

"You need not fear me, little one," she said quietly, "I'm here to apprehend the one who has hijacked your vessel. I suggest you lie low somewhere, and stay out of the firing line." She typed a command into her iStone, and the nektann currently crawling around the hold began to inch its way up towards the cockpit, its camera attempting to discern how many hostages the titan still had on the bridge with him.

IC: Barak - Ta Metru

Barak sighed in relief. His fears of being discovered, were yet unrealized. They had not been detected by the vahki, so his disguise held up for now.

"Sorry about acting so nervous." he said, composing himself. "I've had some bad scrapes with vahki in the past. I'm a good worker, but any matoran in Ta Metru will tell you that I like exploring a lot more than I like working. The nuurahk didn't take that too well."

Like most of the lies he had told, this was partly true. Before his death, Gessai's legal records painted a portrait of a rather lazy, truant and disruptive individual. He had been arrested almost two dozen separate times, mostly for theft and noncompliance with law enforcement. He had even been briefly detained once for assaulting one of his senior workers. Apparently, that had been the result of a heated argument over paperwork. Barak didn't know all the details, but Gessai had never shared them anyway.

"You have to understand," he continued. "I'm a good person. I just had some bad luck once or twice. That's all."

He glanced back at the vahki, the seeds of a plan sprouting in his mind. If he could apply his metal-eating solution to both of the enforcers, the party would be able to cross into the furnace without detection.

"Also, I'm not just a maintenance worker. I used to help build vahki too." Some Ta-Matoran had helped, but not Gessai. "Don't tell anyone, but all vahki have a secret off switch. It's there just in case they need to be deactivated, like the krahli. I could deactivate these vahki, if you want me too." That was a lie. The vahki would be completely unsalvageable by the time he was finished with them.

OOC: Barak is planning to sneak up on the vahki and destroy them with a metal-eating virus.

IC: Tugarak

"It doesn't matter what we did or didn't do!" Tugarak roared. "We need to get back to the ship, now!" He drew both his throwing blades, slipping into a combat stance automatically. If one of these creatures that had once been matoran attacked, there would be no sense in showing mercy or restraint towards them.

"Maxor! Do you still have the artifact?"

That sphere - or cube, rather - had been the apparent cause of the current madness. If he could keep it safe, they might be able to find away to reverse what had been done. He needed to get the sphere to the Barraki castle as quickly as possible. There, League scholars might be able to identify its true function and even come up with a workable solution. Besides, he could not afford to disappoint his lord, Carapar.

OOC: Tugarak hopes to take hold of the artifact and bring it back to the Barraki castle.

IC: Jutori - Po-Metru

By now I had stepped out of our transport to stretch my legs, still cursing the sunlight. Suddenly, the sky appeared to change color to an unnatural hue of red. It was both spectacular, and foreboding, and I had the feeling some incredible change had just taken place. The world would never be the same again.

The epiphany lapsed when I asked Tallea, "Did something happen to the sky?"

IC: The Swordsman - Ta-Metru, outside Great Furnace

"I see no reason to resort to stealth or anything extreme." I sniffed and looked at the pair of enforcers for a moment. "Let's just talk to them," I said, beginning to walk ahead again. I had no love for Vahki, nor any appreciation for their methods that amounted to little more than police brutality, but I was prepared to put on a face and pretend I could stand them if it meant this situation staying under control.

IC: Thom - Beach Assault

Thom, distracted by the events currently unfolding, including what looked like Metru-Nui's defeat and even stranger, the sky turning oddly red, was very surprised when the Steltian who he'd quite clearly shot to death earlier (Rather viscerally, in fact) grabbed his leg and dragged him to the ground suddenly, weapon clattering.

Despite a few punches, the only thing Thom could do was scream for help as the much larger creature pinned him down and slowly began to kill him, brutally and inhumanely.

His watch ticked, as his chest was gradually torn open. He watched, mouth permanently open as his pained cries of agony fell on deaf ears around him.

IC: Karista - Ga-Metru

After she left the Great Temple, Karista didn't have any plans in mind. All she knew was she couldn't be caught. She wandered the streets for a time in Bordakh form, doing her best to mimic their stiff, unhurried march through crowded streets. One, two, one, two...There were so few around... where did they all go?

A Vahki transport rumbled by, seeming to answer her question. She tried to pay it no mind, but the image of dozens of the robotic enforcers in their sleep racks filled her with dread after everything that had happened that day. One, two, every-thing, is fine, she told herself.

And then the sky turned red.

There were gasps, there were screams, and then there was nothing but panic. Karista suddenly found herself awash in a stormy sea of water Matoran, some of them desperately looking to her for support. Her Bordakh head twitched, and she slowly began backing toward the edge of the street, then running, not caring if anyone wondered what was wrong with that Vahki.

The next few moments were a blur, but eventually she found herself in a quiet alleyway. The crowds were gone, just a lone disk seller tucked into a back corner. Her Bordakh form panted hard, twitching and looking everywhere, especially up, until she decided to shift into something more comfortable and became her Ga-Toa "self" again. In a strange moment of clarity she grinned, realizing she had forgotten her feathered bands again. Bet that looked bizarre on a Vahki.

IC: Morah - The Ripple

It seemed Morah got a bit carried away with the ocean, and it wasn't until the others had moseyed out that she found herself again. Not because of that, no, more on account of the red sky and what not. There was a sudden stillness, only broken by the crash of the warm water against the beach. And the possey of living corpses shambling over. Morah readied for battle, and was soon joined by the others.

"Well, get busy fightin' or get busy dyin', as I always say," she muttered mostly to herself before diving toward the undead Matoran, claws unsheathed.

IC: Mazor-Mysterious Island

Mazor shook his head. The object was still in his hand, although it had completaly changed into a small cube. He quickly stood up and saw the room around him. The object didn't seem to be doing anything, but just in case he tore off a peace of his cloak and wrapped the object up. "I've still got it. Let's get out of here." He stated. As they left he saw the Zombies climbing from the wreck. He paused and looked back down at the object. Did I cause this? He thought to himself.

IC: Informant (Duplicate)-Po-Metru

The informant duplicate was doing his best to sneak back into the chute station.

Then the sky turned red.

The dupe acted quickly, it'd be up to the real informant to figure out, he took advantage of the disturbance to quickly jump in a tube towards his destination.

IC: Jephro-Silver Sea asault

Jephro nodded. "He seemed a little overconfident. I managed to immobilize him, but it took a lot out of me." He staired upward. He wasn't sure what had happened to the sky, but at the moment he didn't care.

IC: Paju And Ellie-Ga-Metru

Ellie squirmed and whined as the sky turned red.

"It's ok," Paju said, doing her best to sound soothing, although she was freaking out too. "I'm sure it will be-"

Suddenly Ellie bolted. Paju gripped tight on the handles of the saddle as Ellie went charging off out of control.

IC, Atamai: Po-Metru

”Now listen here,” I began to say right as I became distracted with the sky. The suns, no, the entire sky, flickered, and suddenly the entire sky was painted red. I looked up, mouth agape, eyepiece zoomed out in shock and awe

“Did something happen to the sky?” I heard Jutori say to Tallea.

“Yeah. I’m seeing it too,” I replied.

I had no idea what it meant. I had never read anything like this in the Archives records. It was ominous and... a little scary, to say the least.

I turned to address the group, the Po-Matoran included. “I think this means we’d better find that disk fast. I know none of us are entirely trusting of Turaga Dume right now, but the sooner we find the disk, the sooner we can get some answers from him. The entire city might be in immediate danger.”

I turned to address the Po-Matoran specifically. “Now please, will you help us or not?”

IC: Vashni - Po-Metru -

Vashni stopped herself from letting out a sigh, this was getting nowhere fast. She didn't want to have to step in, but she was starting to think if she did things would start going a little smoother, so she stepped off her bike and approached the Po-Matoran, she was about to say something when the sky abruptly changed, completely drawing her attention.

.:What...the..****:. Vashni was so surprised by the sudden change in the sky that she managed to telepathically swear into the minds of everyone around her by accident.

"Ah...sorry about that..." Vashni managed to say as she got over the shock and surprise. Now she felt much more urgent in getting the Po-Matoran to cooperate. She knelt down next to the Po-matoran so that she was eye level with her.

"Please, can you help us find the disk? If the sky is any indication, it's more important than ever that we find it. And I know we can find it, look..." Vashni took out the Onu-Metru great disk and showed it to the Po-matoran. "We've already found one in the archives, we will definitely find the one here." Vashni decided to project feelings of openness and trust towards the Po-matoran. She normally didn't like trying to influence other people's minds, but she figured trying to get certain emotions out of someone was totally fine and moral if it was for a good cause. Right?

IC: Skyra Daring - Beach Assault -

Skyra was feeling pretty pleased with herself...and her comrades too of course! I mean she'd just disabled the enemies most dangerous weapon on the beach, that had to get her at least a few brownie points and high-fives right?

Skyra nodded to herself before looking up at the sky and letting out several swear words. How the heck!? Who did that!? How did that!?

IC: Othorak, Stalled Above Ta-Metru

It had been one full minute.  Time was of the essence, and Othorak would not tolerate any delays.  He stepped forward, peering out the window while towering menacingly between the center and left pilots working their respective consoles.  His Matoran captive started his whimpers once more.  After a few moments of tension and silence, Othorak spoke, more calm than previously, "I can feel the ship slowing down.  I swear to Mata-Nui, if your friend doesn't fix whatever that red blast did to the ship in the next minute, he'll be coming back to some bodies in here."

The Matoran tried to protest, to reason with their captor.  They told him they were pilots, not technicians, and they didn't even know if their comrade had the right tools to diagnose the problem, let alone fix it.  Othorak was tired of hearing it.  Without a word, he dragged his Matoran hostage out of the cockpit with him.  He tossed him down to the lower level before jumping down himself.  The Matoran had no will to fight; Othorak simply bent down and picked him up by the nape of his neck once more before continuing down towards the back of the ship.  His sword was ready to inspire some workplace efficiency in the Matoran he sent back to get the airship moving again.
