A New Look at LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga

Recommended Posts

Earlier this week at Gamescom a new trailer for LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga was released, showing off the upcoming game that will cover the events of all nine main-series films. Unfortunately, it was also announced that the game has been delayed until Spring of 2021, which is obviously a result of the pandemic. There's a lot of funny details in addition to emotional moments shown in the video, and if you'd like a summary, StarWars.com has put together twenty of them. I'm definitely excited for the game, and have preordered the new Deluxe Edition that was also announced this week. Let us know in the Talkback if you're planning on picking it up next year too!

Fun minifigure for the deluxe edition, but the rest of the deluxe content is so pointless you're basically paying $10 for that minifigure. Still, I'll definitely be picking up the standard version at some point. Looking forward to seeing how improved the level designs are.

We already have the entire Skywalker story, it's called Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga. :P

But let's see. I haven't touched a Lego game in years, and it looks like they're still using the exact same gameplay formula as the original Lego Star Wars game that came out fifteen years ago. I miss when Lego games had more variety...

I'm not big on the characters having voices in the game either. I think the grunts worked better like in the old ones. But I might end up getting this just to see what it's like, and maybe see what else is new.

I'm definitely looking forward to this game. A major reason why Complete Saga is so low on my ranking of Lego games is simply because, as the very earliest Lego game, it just hasn't aged well after more than ten years when compared to more recent Lego games. If the one for Force Awakens from 2016 was only a taste of what a modern Lego Star Wars game could be like, then I've got high hopes this remake that'll include the new trilogy (and probably other Star Wars content like Rogue One) could be very exciting.

Although personally, I probably won't actually purchase this game myself until likely well over a year after it finally releases, only because I always prefer to wait until the price comes down significantly from it's initial full price, and even then I'll wait until a sale that'll make it even more affordable. Besides, at this time, I'm nearing the end of a three-year marathon of completing literally all of the Lego games currently available, so I feel like I could do with a long break from Lego games once I'm finally done with my current progress.

These days, I am perhaps best known for my obsession with all Lego video games.
