I actually saw a pic of these elsewhere the other day. Nostalgia overload. That said, your first link is rather broken; you might want to upload it elsewhere.

Hey: I'm not very active around BZP right now.  However, you can always contact me through PM (I have email notifications set up) and I will reply as soon as I can.

I remember these. I never actually saw them in stores, but I did see pictures of them on the instruction booklets of the Bionicle sets I got when these cool shoes came out. Along with the ones pictured here, there was also a show that came with the Mask of Light. (Though the one with the Hau Nuva is still my favorite.)

Everyone is one choice away from being the bad guy in another person's story.

well i remember them but only because of the transparent orange kraata. i never did get them or the kraata but i would have just for the kraata even though at that time my feet were already too big for them. and plus it was like impossible to find up here in little old alaska. now my question is do you remember those toothbrushes where the bristles had a part that covered them and could hold a kanohi nuva on it.

I still have a Tahu Nuva toothbrush somewhere...not sure where though, haven't used it in years. :P

Yeah, my Onua Nuva one has gone unused for years now in the medicine cabinet. I wonder if the battery still works...But I remember the Bionicle comics advertising the shoes and how you could swap out the masks/Rahkshi heads. I feel like there was similar advertising during 2004, but I can't recall what the products were.-Ced

I was never interested in those things. They looked silly, not mention ugly.

well i agree i mainly wanted those type of things just for the promotional items like the Transparent Orange Kraata (T.O.K. which is pretty funny since that is the name of the town i live in just take a look under my post count you'll see) i never could get it but it existed because of those items

I thought they looked okay, especially if you removed the mask. Then they became just ordinary sneakers with BIONICLE-inpired patterns near the soles, which was truly awesome.

I recall the Vakama and Whenua slippers, but not the Nike sneakers way back when.

On the day the wall came down / They threw the locks onto the ground

And with glasses high / We raised a cry / For freedom had arrived

On the day the wall came down / The ship of fools had finally run aground

Promises lit up the night / Like paper doves in flight

I dreamed you had left my side / No warmth, not even pride remained

And even though you needed me / It was clear that I could not do a thing for you

Now life devalues day by day / As friends and neighbors turn away

And there's a change that even with regret / Cannot be undone

Now frontiers shift like desert sands / While nations wash their bloodied hands

Of loyalty, of history / In shades of grey

I woke to the sound of drums / The music played, the morning sun streamed in

I turned and I looked at you / And all but the bitter residues slipped away

slipped away...

I remember them very well, but I don´t remember ever really wanting them. I think it would look kind of funny and I´m not sure the kids at school would have reacted in a nice way. :fear:-Gata signoff.jpg

Oh goodness not these. My brothers both had a pair though I did not. I am actually glad for that, because I don't want to make myself look any weirder than I already do in public places. :PI don't have them anymore, because we threw them away after they got torn up. I'm not sure if they got torn up by being cheap or overuse... or both.

That crossed my mind too...the whole judgmental mindset of younger kids - not that it doesn't follow a good chunk of them into adulthood (it totally does). The only reason I didn't get a pair was that my school had a weird dress code regarding shoes (among everything else), and having them just for weekends didn't seem worth the money to my parents. *sigh*-Ced

I had the Takanuva version of those shoes. All my friends thought they were cool, and well, suited me, since I was the Bionicle guy in my class. Except one guy. He made fun of them simply for not being Heelys. No kraata, though...also the Onua toothbrush.

I still have my Tahu Nuva ones with Gali Nuva masks. Never did wear them regularily, though. My feet had a condition at the time that necessated me to wear laced shoes all the time, and the Bionicle ones were strapped. A bit disappointing.

I really need to handle my signature problems better.
