X-Men: Darkest Days

Synopsis:

Mutants are simply humans who have a genetic mutation that gives them an astonishing and sometimes dangerous superhuman power. Every mutant has the X-Gene within them, though the power it gives a mutant is unique for every one. The X-Gene can be passed down through heredity, but two normal human parents can also have a mutant child. Scientists have called mutants the next step in human evolution, but society as a whole looks at mutants with fear. They fear their power, and they fear what the do not understand. America is in an uproar over what they should do about the mutants, and violence and protests have broken out all over.Certain politicians move against mutants, while other’s aim to help them. So Charles Xavier formed the X-Men to help create peace with mutants and man-kind. The X-Men would were a powerful combat team that accomplished many amazing missions, and helped protect innocent lives. They defeated Apocalypse, the Brotherhood of Mutants, and many other threats in their time. They helped bridge the gap between homo-sapiens and homo-superior (mutants). Many years ago Charles Xavier opened the Xavier's Institute for Gifted Youngsters. He created a school that would be a safe place for mutants to attend and to get an education. But the school would also harbor his secret team of fighter’s, the X-Men. Not all students were in the X-Men, and not all X-Men were students in the school, though they could be both, most of them were too old to be in high-school and some of them are teachers in the school instead. But seventeen years ago everything changed. The Phoenix came back from the dead and allied herself with Magneto, and subsequently killed off almost all of the X-Men; including Professor X. She then turned on the Brotherhood of Mutants, wiping them out as well. In the end Jean Grey went to the grave once again as Wolverine ender her life, but she managed to turn him to ashes before he was finished. It seemed like all was lost, that the X-Men had finally collapsed. But a lone survivor, the X-Men known as Beast had survived the blood-bath. He returned to the mansion, and reopened the school, now as the new Dean and leader of the X-Men. Now seventeen years after that terrible day, Beast has recreated the X-Men, with his own group of bright-eyed teens and gifted youngsters.

It turns out that Quicksilver, survived as well, and he took up his father’s mantle as leader of the Brotherhood of Mutants, he has now grown the size of his organization, as new mutants have joined the faction. The brotherhood is very much the opposite of the X-Men; they work against peace, and strive to cause a war between humans and mutants, a war that Beast fears would be the extinction of both sides.Even more ominous, a corporation known as Weapon X has survived all these years. They were the ones responsible for implanting the adamantium into Wolverine, and many other terrible deeds. They have now captured a team of mutants, and turned them all into their personal weapons, and they plan to use them for evil. The Sentinel’s are still around, their one function is to hunt down certain mutants and kill them for the good of mankind. They are mutant killers, and they are highly efficient at it. The newly re-formed X-Men and the newly reformed Brotherhood of Mutants have yet to clash; but soon they will and everything will be changed forever.

Rules:

1. You must post IC when you are speaking “in character,” and OOC when you are speaking “out of character.”2. Don’t take control of other players’ characters without their permission.3. Don’t kill other characters without the owner’s permission.4. No god-modding. You can’t ignore physics and you especially can’t ignore your characters’ weaknesses. No auto-hitting! Also you must allow your character to be injured, it’s part of the fun of fighting.5. Double posting should not happen.6. Remember that if you’re fighting other mutant NPCs, or Sentinels, you can’t just blast your way through an army of them, they are still strong. Now, humans on the other hand, most mutants would be able to mop up a large number of them.7. Limit of 10 characters total. Try not to make too many that some of your character's don't get enough attention etc, be responsible and only take on as many as you can handle.8. And as always, all regular BZPower rules apply.

Character Rules:

1. Try to avoid making your character overpowered, if you are a mutant, stick to one to two different powers tops!2. If you’re a member of the X-Men you don’t use weapons, unless they are a part of your power. Most mutants don’t use them period, but if you’re a human, then yes you can use weapons.3. No canon characters from X-Men or Marvel allowed. If you want to play as a character similar to existing X-Men; then make them similar. Also, you are permitted to make your character, the child of existing X-Men. This RP is obviously non-canon, so children of known X-Men can exist, as long as they have some level of originality.6. Your character is not omniscient. Everything they know has to be learned in some way.7. And most importantly, your character MUST be approved by a staff member before you post as that character.

X-Manor Layout

Factions:

X-Men- The X-Men are a group of mutants founded by Charles Xavier. The original X-Men all died, all of them except for Beast. Beast has reformed the X-Men with all new members; the new X-Men are soldiers, fighting for Xavier's dream of peaceful coexistence with mankind. Even though Xavier is dead, this dream is now slowly being forged into reality. The Brotherhood of Mutants- The Brotherhood is a group of rogue mutants who are lead by the powerful mutant Quicksilver. The faction was founded by Xavier’s arch enemy Magneto, but after his death his son took over. Their goal is to bring down mankind and put mutants at the top of society; if this means killing all of the humans on earth than so be it.The Enforcers- The Enforcers, are a relatively new group, they were formed in the last seventeen years. They were created by the American Government, by the same people who created the Sentinels. They are a group of average humans who want to wipe out all mutants. Mutants must register with the government by law, and if they don’t they are legally allowed to be killed without trial. They will stop at nothing until all mutants are erased from the face of the earth. They used special high-tech technologies and Mech-suits to compensate for their lack of powers.Weapon X- Weapon X is a shadow organization run by unknown persons. They are obsessed with mutants with healing abilities and have created their own personal force of powerful mutants. These mutants are usually, captured, brainwashed and experimented on. They are then used as assassins to take out high paid contacts for the organization, or dangerous missions to further Weapon-X's lucrative goals. You don't have to have a faction, but it’s recommended. Also if people really want to make their own factions, they can.

Location:

The RP takes place primarily in NYC and New York State; but characters will be allowed to travel to other locations if they chose to. Also some missions within the story will take place in other countries and locations, which will be accessible by the Blackbird (The X-Men’s jet).

Staff Characters

Name: John HowlettCodename: FeralAge: 18Gender: MaleFaction: X-MenPower(S): Like his father John has a healing factor. He also inherited his father’s retractable bone claws, with a special adaption; he can cover them with organic metal at will, much like how Colossus covered himself with metal.Appearance: John has messy dark brown hair, that isn’t very long. He is fairly attractive, and his body is pretty muscular, for a kid his age. He’s much taller than his dad, standing at 6’1’’. When not in costume John usually wears a hoodie, T-shirt or tanktop, faded jeans, and a pair of sneakers, usually Vans.Weapons: None, other then his natural claws.Skills: Good at hand to hand fighting, excellent with his claws, good strategist.Personality: (Your character’s personality)Weakness: John suffers from a terrible uncontrollable rage. He can go into a fit of rage, and sometimes people end up hurt. This can also lead to him doing rash things, and getting himself hurt. John’s healing factor is strong, but he isn’t un-killable, unlike his father he doesn’t have a metal-covered, so a shot to the head, or heart would certainly kill him, he also can’t re-grow limbs, but his bones can re-grow or repair themselves.Bio: John was only one when his father was killed seventeen years ago. He grew up in the X-Mansion, like a lot of the kids of the old X-Men.He learned of who his father was, what he stood for, and how he died, by saving everyone by killing the Phoenix and ending her killing spree. When John was sixteen he joined Beast’s new X-Men program. Beast waited many years before he reformed the X-Men, only because most of the children of the old X-Men were too young. Now he fights for the X-Men, while he’s trying to secretly learn to control his rage. He also wants to learn more about his father, Beast hasn’t told him much, and he’s never been told who his mother is.

Important NPC List:

Name: Pietro MaximoffCodename: QuicksilverAge: 32Gender: MaleFaction: Brotherhood of Mutants (Current Leader)Power(S): Quicksilver possesses superhuman speed, and can travel on foot at speeds exceeding the speed of sound for hundreds of miles before tiring; he could "fly" for short distances by flapping his arms or "vibrating" his legs; he could also use his speed to create cyclones, dodge machine gun and laser fire, and run up walls and across water.Appearance: Quicksilver is tall and lean, with an athletes build. Now that he has aged a bit, he looks more like his father. His all white hair is a bit longer, and his face has aged some as well. He has two piercing blue eyes, and pale skin. His costume is dark blue with a lightning bolt across the front.Weapons: NoneSkills: Excellent at running and stamina, he’s also very good ad dodging, he’s grown to become a good leader, and he can command his followers very much like his father did.Personality: Quicksilver is not an evil man, he is just a man who has seen the worst side of humanity and judged them as a whole on the actions of a few. Quicksilver now believes in his dead father’s ideals, he hates humanity with a passion, and he hates even more how they treat mutants. In his eyes mutants should be on top while humans should be the lesser beings, and he will stop at nothing until his father’s dream has been completed. Quicksilver sometimes has little patience for failure, and at times his mercy is not the greatest, but he is an electrifying speaker, and man of great intelligence, he can get many mutants to follow him just by his word.Weakness: Physically Quicksilver isn’t the strongest, and if you can keep him in one place without allowing him to run, you might be able to take him down.Bio: Pietro and his twin sister, Wanda, were raised by Django and Marya Maximoff, a gypsy couple. As adolescents Pietro and his sister Wanda discovered that they had peculiar talents. When Django began to steal food to feed his starving family, enraged villagers attacked the gypsy camp. Using his phenomenal speed, Pietro fled from the camp with his sister. Over the next few years, Wanda and Pietro wandered central Europe, living off the land. One day, Wanda accidentally caused a house to burst into flames with her uncontrollable hex powers and the pair was chased by superstitious townspeople. Despite Pietro's attempt to defend her, the twins were soon overpowered and were rescued by Magneto.Unwilling but believing they owed him a debt, the twins became members of Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants as Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch. They embraced his dream, and fought alongside him for many years, until the Scarlet Witch left the group. Seventeen years ago the Phoenix destroyed Magneto and wiped out almost the entire Brotherhood of Mutants. Quicksilver was a lone survivor. He decided to rebuild the brotherhood in his father’s image, he became the new leader, and for many years he has been bolstering its ranks with new mutants. Now he is ready to show the world that the brotherhood is not dead, that they are still strong, and that humanity will see the error of their ways.Name: Hank McCoyCodename: BeastAge: 42Gender: MaleFaction: X-Men (Current Leader)Power(S): Animal-like physiology, superhuman strength, speed, stamina, agility, durability, senses and dexterity, genius-level intellect, razor sharp claws and teethAppearance: Beast can be quite intimidating when you first see him. He is large, very muscular, and his body is somewhat like that of a gorillas, with long arms, and massive feet. His body is covered in thick blue fur, and he has very sharp claws on each of his fingers and toes. Beast also has sharp feline like teeth. When not in costume and at the school he usually wears a suit tailored to fit his massive size, but alas he can never find any shoes to fit him. Sometimes he likes to wear glasses when teaching as well.Weapons: NoneSkills: Beast is excellent at acrobatics, he is good at climbing, and he is insanely intelligent, he is also very good at leading the X-Men.Personality: Beast is a remarkably brilliant mind. His vast intelligent contrasts his large brute like physique. He is often benevolent and kind, willing to teach those who want to learn and always offers his hand to help in any way he can. In the heat of battle, he can be ruthless, where the animalistic nature of his power begins to take over.Weakness: He often has a hard time fighting against someone faster than he isBio: Henry Philip McCoy was born in Dundee, Illinois, in the United States, to Norton and Edna McCoy. His father, Norton McCoy, was employed at a local nuclear power plant before Henry's birth and was once exposed to intense nuclear radiation, which appears to have caused his son's mutation. Hank was born with a vast intellect, unusually long arms and legs, and unusually large hands and feet for a human; in fact, his body's proportions were comparable to those of a gorilla and later stories reveal his nickname in school was “Magilla Gorilla”.Henry's mutation more fully manifests during adolescence, providing greater strength and agility, and although his powers allow him to briefly excel in athletics during his remaining time at school, he soon attracts the animosity of his fellow students and other non-mutant humans. As he seeks refuge, he is approached by Professor Charles Xavier, who invites him to study at “Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters”.Henry recognizes the opportunities such an institution can offer him and accepts the invitation. He finds the school both a fountain of scientific knowledge and a place of sanctuary and is there introduced to the X-Men, who accept him into their ranks and give him the codename Beast. One day, after many days of research, Hank managed to isolate a "hormonal extract" which allowed anyone to become a mutant for a short period of time, and a mutant to appear human. Beast chose to test the serum on himself. However, he waits too long to reverse the process, leaving him permanently transformed. He has grown gray fur (which later turns blue) all over his body and acquired sharp ears, elongated canine teeth, claws, the ability to run on walls and ceilings like a spider, enhanced senses, and a feral side that he had to master.Seventeen years ago almost all of the X-Men were wiped out by the Phoenix. Beast was forced to watch as all of his friends and former comrades died. But Beast did not decide to give up, instead he inherited the school due to Xavier’s will which stated that if there was a great tragedy, and he died, the school and estate would go to the next worthy X-Men member, and he had listed off certain members he’d trusted. Most of them had died, so the school became Beasts property. He reopened the school, and secretly he began to recruit new young mutants as he formed a new X-Men team, many who were the children of the original X-Men.Name: West SheenCodename: CrossfireAge: 38Gender: MaleFaction: The Enforcers (Current leader)Power(S): None.Appearance: He normally wears formal yet casual clothing, like a dress shirt and pants, but with no tie and the collar undone. West has short cropped dark brown-hair, and he has a light stubble beard. His eyes are blue-grey, and he has a scar above his right brow. He is handsome, but also stern looking. He has tanned skin, and a good build, he spends many hours in the gym working out.Weapons: High tech armor that greatly amplifies his senses, strength and speed. It also has miniaturized jet engines that open at the suit’s back and soles of the feet to allow flight. The suit has a chain gun mounted on the right shoulder. He personally is armed with a high caliber rifle that fires armor piercing rounds and is armed with a grenade launcher. He carries normal, smoke, and flash grenades with him. He also has a desert eagle armed with explosive rounds and laser sight, and a plasma sword.Skills: Genius intellect, Military training, master shooter, master mechanic, technology expert, and a natural leaderPersonality: West is a man who is utterly convinced that the ends justify the means. He has the interest of regular humans at heart, and will do any means necessary to protect them from the mutant threat that is infecting the earth. He is a stern leader, harsh and cold, but he cares for his allies.Weakness: Sheen has no natural powers, and without his suit and fancy weapons, he is incredibly venerable to mutants.Bio: West grew up under his father Albert Sheen, the creator of the Enforcers branch. He never knew his mother; only that she died when he was very young. Albert was a very strict, but very loving father, and raised West to be the perfect successor to his title. West held some resentment toward his father for not giving him a choice in what he wanted to do with his life. Instead his father chose his fate for him. He would lead the Enforcers when he passed. A lot of politicians were against this idea, but Albert was dead set on having his son take over.West grew up around technology. His father wanted him to be safe from mutants, and felt that knowing how the technology the Enforcers used worked would give him an edge when his time came to lead. West always scored above average on IQ tests, and was considered a genius by many. He was enrolled into several schools for gifted children where he studied technology, robotics, chemistry, and physics among many other subjects. His natural familiarity with technology would eventually lead to his fame at the age of 20, when he created the first plasma weapon, a plasma sword. He was also very helpful with building the first of the Sentinels. West was viewed as one of the biggest pioneers of new weapons on the planet. The laboratory was his sort of home and safe haven. The world around him was shut out. It was only him and his inventions, and that was the way he liked it. He would often create weapons and armor for Enforcer troops, and even a specially modified suit for himself. He was well aware of the war on mutants, and fully supported his father. He believed that all mutants were a danger to humanity, and that no man should have that much power, for it corrupts and taints the human mind and can lead to living in a world ruled by tyrants. It was because of this that he felt no remorse for the mutants his father killed. However, his life changed when his father was assassinated by a Weapons-X mutant. He was addressing the public about concerns people had with Enforcers troops casually patrolling the streets. A mutant with the power of invisibility was right behind him, and slit Albert's throat. The crowd went into sheer panic as the secret service tried to apprehend the murderer, but he got away. West ran into his lab and donned his armor, personally hunting down his father's murder. He found the man and killed him with ease, and it was at that moment, that he became the official leader of the Enforcers. Years later, he advanced the suits and training of Enforcer troops, and had them search every corner of the country for mutants, they couldn't hide from him forever.

If you've got Beast as a teacher, don't you think you should give him a profile? Probably Quicksilver too, just for reference on important NPCs.Also, how flexible can we be with continuity? Are we limited to playing as someone from Earth-616 or could we be from Earth-811? Are coming from the future (or indeed the past should you be inclined) off-limits?

Yeah, your right I'll write up profiles for them. I'll allow people to come from the Earth-811, since the whole idea of the Mutants in the camps, and Sentinels ruling everything is pretty neat, from the future will also be allowed, but I don't see why anyone would need to come from the past. Maybe a few characters can do this, but I don't want a whole spree of time-travelers.

There are enough people meddling with time in the X-Men canon that I can see a time distortion pulling a mutant from the past into the present without time travel powers of their own. On the plus side all the shiny new technology, but on the downside everyone hates you. Could be funOn the subject of characters, do you say how many we're allowed? I don't think I saw any specific limit so is this a case of being limited to one or as many as we want?

Yeah, I could see that happening. People will of course be allowed more than one character. Hm, how about a limit of ten to start? I don't want people to get carried away with their amount of characters, but I don't want to limit them too much either. If that sounds good I'll add it into the rules.

Oh, I notice in your profiles you list the Hellfire Club as a faction rather than the Enforcers. I assume thats the remnant of an old draft so you might want to alter it.Other than that X-Men: Darkest Days Approved [1]
Haha yeah it was, I fixed it and awesome. I might open up the Hellfire Club as another faction down the road.

1. Try to avoid making your character overpowered, if you are a mutant, stick to one to two different powers tops! And one powers MUST be stronger then the other’s.
I bolded where I feel confused, as I'm not sure what you mean. Do you mean if you have two different powers, one should be substantially weaker than the other? Or do you mean something else? The way it's worded throws me off, so I'd suggest rewriting that particular bolded sentence for clarification reasons. As for the mansion layout, I'd presume it's up to individual interpretation of what it looks like when people travel throughout the building. As, simply, some people playing may not have read the comics, or seen the movies, so they would likely describe it as they see it within their imagination (which could vary from person to person in some ways) -- Would that be okay with you, as the owner of the game, or would you rather have a single this-is-how-it-is? Either way is fine with me, but I'm just pointing it out to avoid possible interpretation issues (ie: people arguing over what one wall is made out of... or something).Lots of RP's leave it up to personal interpretation, but just wondering if that's what you intend. (If not, I'd suggest giving a cursory overview of what each floor would largely look like -- perhaps mention if there'd be paintings, rugs, what the walls would appear as, etc... to help those who like to describe their surroundings). Those are the only issues I have with the game. :)

Okay, I'll take out the part about one power having to be weaker then the other main one, that's what I was intending, but I don't think it should be that way now actually. And about the mansion, I'm fine with people leaving things open to interpitation, that doesn't really bother me much, as long as they get the rooms right and the floors pretty much.EDIT: Fixed the power thing now for good. Sorry for being so cluttered.EditedSKULDUGGERY PLEASANTERA OF CHAOSIntroduction/StoryIn a universe of magic, where the impossible is reality...Some people believed in The Faceless Ones, evil gods once banished from this reality. Others didn't.Worse still was if the worshipers were to bring The Dark Gods back. Humanity would be destroyed.Lord Vile didn't want that, but he wanted power. And Mevolent wanted the Dark Gods back.He flooded Mevolent's head with ideas of glory, of the promise of godhood. And so The War started and lasted for hundreds of years. The Sanctuaries, having suffered terrible losses were driven underground.Mevolent, having won, was about to let the Dark Gods in, but was killed by Lord Vile. He assumed power and started to rule the world with an iron fist. The Sanctuaries are fighting back as hard as they can. Now, how you act in the story will now sway the destiny of the world. Will you lead it into chaos, or into freedom? The Three NamesThe Three Names are the names every person has. They are the Given Name, True Name and Taken Name.A Given Name is the name someone is given when they are born from your parents. If someone finds out your Given Name, they can control you. This can be prevented by making a Taken Name.A Taken Name is the name a person makes up for themselves. The name you choose also protects the person from being controlled because of their Given Name. A person can only choose a Taken Name once. They can choose one name (such as Mevolent) or two names (Valkyrie Cain).A True Name is the source of the person's magic. If the person knows their True Name, they can become very powerful. A possible side effect of this however might be a multiple personality trait. Also, if someone finds out your True Name before you, they can control you. A way to stop this is to seal your True Name before anyone else knows it. However, most of us go about without knowing what our True Name is, but we can still tap into a small amount of power it provides.MagicMagic comes in a variety of types although they are classed into four types: Reaper (magic that affects physical body), Symbolism (magic that deals with symbols, the language of magic), Elementals (magic that involves the use of Air, Water, Earth and Fire) and Adept (a variety of different magics, such as Necromancy and Teleportation). The constant use of magic is said to rejuvenate the body, and extend a sorcerer's lifetime. The rate of age slowdown is not accurately known, but as Madness is over two hundred years old and appears as if he's in his thirties, so the effects are quite noticeable. As said earlier, True Names are the source of Magic. Every sorcerer has a True Name, and that enables them to use magic. However most of us go about without knowing what our True Name is, but we can still tap into a small amount of power it provides. The SurgeThe Surge is when a Sorcerer's Magic discipline is set. Though little is known of the Surge, it is implied that when it finally occurs in a Sorcerer, they are normally unable to utilize magic differing from their chosen discipline. So when a Necromancer experiences their surge, they are rendered unable to use Elemental magic should they have trained with it before, however it is presumably possible to learn and use other Adept disciplines. However, changing magic after the Surge is not impossible, it is extremely rare. The Surge does not seem to happen at a set date, but happens when a mage fully matures in one school of magic.ElementalsElementals are magicians that use the four classical elements (earth, air, fire and water) in combat and in leisure.·Air: Can be utilized to propel an object or oneself through the air by visualizing the air as a series of objects and pushing at it, creating a gust of wind. It is also able to create solid walls of air and levitate objects.·Earth: Used as a last defense in extreme situations. Covers the user in rock and when coated the user will be trapped in this form for periods ranging from weeks to years. The least used power.·Fire: Using friction to create a spark and ultimately a flame, fire is used as an effective projectile. The fire that is made can be manipulated as well as fire that was not made by the sorcerer.·Water: Can be utilized to perform feats such as walking on water to forming water from vapour. The uses of these elements can vary depending on the skills and creativity of the user.AdeptsAdept mages have dedicated their life and magical potential to a single set of powers, although the scope of these powers might vary. Powers can range from burrowing underground to having an immunity to fire. Many Adepts have weaknesses that may cause trouble for them. An example is George Madness, whose Necromancy power is so volatile that he has to store and channel it through his pistols. Not all Adept magic is combat-related, such as Nye and Kenspeckle, who are doctors.SymbolismSymbol Magic is a special branch of magic that deals with symbols, the language of magic. One notable user of Symbol Magic is Grand Mage China Sorrows. Symbols can be placed either on the body as a tattoo, or drawn on to other objects. The signs are activated by a series of taps on them, and serve many different purposes. They can be used as offensive energy attacks, defensive walls, escape methods, and other miscellaneous things, such as making tea.ReapersReapers are solely melee fighters because they view magic as a corrupting influence. They do possess some magic ability, but it is used in augmenting their already outstanding physical powers.FactionsThe SanctuarySanctuaries are the worldwide organizations that enforce the magical laws. All Sanctuaries have a Council of Elders that lead the Sanctuary, and are led by a Grand Mage. Every major magical country has a Sanctuary. They are built in public places, hidden in plain sight. In fact, a seemingly abandoned building, or even a public toilet, near you could be a Sanctuary. All Sanctuaries are built in a triangular format. They are mostly located underground. At first the Sanctuaries were unofficial. The sorcerers would go to the Sanctuaries to escape the mortal world. Over time, the sorcerers came up with rules, leaders and a code of conduct. The current Sanctuaries were established after the War. The mages of the original Sanctuary (in Ireland) had differences on how to defeat Lord Vile and therefore they separated to establish different branches of the Sanctuary in other countries. Each Sanctuary has a different code of conduct, but they all uphold the same core rules.Although the Sanctuaries have worked together before, there is a lot of rivalry, particularly against Ireland, as it is seen as the main Cradle of Magic. After the War, all of the Sanctuaries were driven underground and are now fighting against Lord Vile. Their army includes mostly Reapers. The main Sanctuaries are:·The Irish Sanctuary·The Japanese Sanctuary·The Egyptian Sanctuary·The American Sanctuary·The Haitian SanctuaryThe main Sanctuary in the war is the Irish Sanctuary. Coveted by many, due to the fact that it contains the most magical artefacts, and that it was in their country that the Ancients banished the Faceless Ones. Also, it is the strongest of all Cradles of Magic. However, it is the most pacifist of all Sanctuaries, believing that war is not the only option in ending the conflict. The Irish Sanctuary, as with all Sanctuaries, is led by the Council of Elders. They in turn are led by the Grand Mage. The Council is elected democratically, by votes from each group of mages of different viewpoints. The Grand Mage of the Irish Sanctuary is China Sorrows, an ex-Faceless One worshipper and Symbolist. The other Elders are:·Elder George Madness, a Necromancer.·Eva Casio, an Elemental.Other important people of the Irish Sanctuary are:-Skulduggery Pleasant, Prime Detective-Desmond Edgely, Pleasant's apprentice.Lord Vile“There is this very important rule. You don’t go up against Lord Vile alone. You get a bunch of people and hope that one of you gets a lucky strike.”-Ghastly Bespoke to Tanith LowLord Vile. How should I describe him? There are many differing opinions concerning him. A monster. Evil. Powerful. Imaginative.Lord Vile appeared from nowhere and in the space of three years, became the most feared general of Mevolent. Ghastly Bespoke’s mother, who defeated Serpine and Vengous single handed, died at the hands of Lord Vile.He is the strongest Necromancer, and was once pronounced the Death Bringer, the Messiah of the Necromancers. He proved them wrong. He has established a program where children who are beginning to show the first signs of magical talent are conscripted into his army.People follow him due to his power and his promises of a new world.Vampires‘Vampires are humans who suffer from a magical disease that is transmitted by the bite of another vampire. At nightfall, they transform from their human form, into their vampire form, a pale and hairless beast consumed by blood lust. When night comes they rip off their skin and turn into vicious killer beasts that seek out blood at any costs. Before becoming a vampire one will be an Infected, a creature that follows the orders of the vampire that bit it. After two nights, the Infected will transform into a true vampire. They possess super human strength and agility. Their speed and agility has often been described as unnatural and inhuman as they can make no sound whilst walking. All vampires have an extreme weakness to salt water with the exception of newly turned Infected. Should a vampire swallow salt water, they suffer an extreme allergic reaction, one that causes their throat to constrict, leading to their suffocation. It is unknown if immediate medical aid could save a vampire in these conditions. However, a vampire can use a concoction of hemlock and wolfsbane to stay in human form during the night. One particular vampire uses this powers to his advantage.Vampires are fundamentally immortal, and unlike normal Sorcerers, do not age and can, in theory, live forever. When a mage is turned into a vampire, they keep any magic they previously had.’ - The Incomplete Encyclopedia of Magic, Volume XNot exactly a faction, but more of a species of sentient, non-rotting zombies. They are a force to be reckoned with at nightfall. At daytime however, they are mostly harmless.NeutralLed by the Necromancers, those of neutral faction do not want to get really involved in the conflict. They prefer to stay in the middle of the conflict and just simply observe. Most vampires are in this group.ProfileName (Taken Name in this case):Age:Gender:Species:Magic [Y/N]:Discipline of Magic:Description of Magic Discipline(Basic idea of what he can and cannot do):Weapons (Be serious. Some disciplines won’t have them):Faction:Appearance:Personality:Bio (Short history of your character):Weaknesses:Anything else deemed necessary?Rules of the RPG·Obviously all BZP rules apply.·No "Leet". Really. It gives other people headaches. And you’ll look stupid.·No godmodding. Even a Faceless One has a weakness. I cannot stress the importance of this enough.·No teleportation, unless of course, you are a Teleporter or Necromancer. But then you have to know and have been at your intended destination. If not, walk or drive.·No bunnying (using other people’s characters as your own without permission). You are not a Remnant.·Be nice. No one likes a bully.Staff:TradTheMentalistToast of AwesomenessCharacter Rules:1. No being overpowered. One power each. Unless pre-Surge. And that is final.2. No canon characters. If you want to be someone similar to them, (who doesn’t?) then please do. This is obviously non-canon, so children of the canon characters are allowed.3. Yes, you can play as mortals! There will be some problems with your character though, as they have to constantly struggle to survive.4. Your character is not all-knowing. There can be rumor mills of characters, but they have to have a limit.5. And most importantly, your character MUST be approved by a staff member before you post as that character.6. The Adept discipline is rather flexible, so you may create your own if you do not wish to follow canon. But the staff reserves the right to deny it if we find it too powerful.7. CONCERNING THE SURGE: Mages who are pre-Surge are like jacks-of-all-trades in the schools of magic. However, they are not as powerful as mages after-Surge. Mages after-Surge specialise in one school of magic.PunishmentsI don’t like punishing people, but these are the punishments for breaking rules.1. A simple PM warning. A minor appeal.2. A public warning. Shame on you.3. A visit to Dr. Nye or Kenspeckle. Character out for a few days. (i.e. three )4. If your character is a mage, he becomes de-powered. If a mortal, a longer visit to Nye or Kenspeckle.5. OK. All your characters will somehow die (I’ll think up of a way) and you are permanently banned. Serves you right.Important NPCsName: Grand Mage China SorrowsAge: 107Gender: FemaleSpecies: Human MageMagic [Y/N]: YesDiscipline of Magic: SymbolismDescription of Magic Discipline: China has the ability to use symbols, writing them into a variety of things, such as books in her library, her apartment, even herself. Each can be used for different things, and is activated by her touching it- for instance, a healing symbol on her jawbone.Equipment: None. Other than her charms.Faction: The SanctuaryAppearance: http://images2.wikia...ina_sorrows.JPGPersonality: China is a mysterious, manipulating woman, and strikingly beautiful, which she uses to her advantage. She cares more for books and other material objects than people, and come across quite cold at times. However, when it benefits her, she can be quite the charmer, causing people to fall hopelessly in love with her.Bio: Not much is known about her past, but it is known that China used to worship the Faceless Ones and even founded the Diablerie. After she left and become "neutral", Baron Vengeous took over the organisation. China's only recent family was her brother, Mr. Bliss, who died at the hands of Lord Vile. It is mentioned that her entire family had worshipped the Faceless Ones, but China has since rejected their faith. Bliss also gave up worshipping the Faceless Ones, though much earlier. Both China and her brother believed in their existence, however.China was elected as Grand Mage as her predecessor was the wholly incompetent Thurid Guild, who was a warmongering person who never got on with anyone. Also, she is the only one who was eager to do the job. She is a firm believer in ending the war.Weaknesses: She once was a Faceless One worshipper and founded the Diablerie, a suicidal group of Faceless One worshippers. That makes her suspicious in everyone’s eyes. She is also very classy and dislikes getting into fights to avoid “messing up my look”.

Still looks cluttered and unfocused. You've got subheadings which are connected to the paragraph before them and disjointed from the one they're supposed to be describing, summaries that don't really flow, vampires that come out of nowhere (seriously, you suddenly bring them up in a paragraph on factions, no previous mentions) and setting up Mevolent as a major threat before killing him off in a single sentence. And I'm still not sure what time this is supposed to be. You say present day towards the end of the opening, but thats a relative term. Present to the characters might still be past to us. Since you start off in the 1800 and say only months have passed, are we still in the 1800s? I would guess based on China Sorrows age that we were (the prologue takes place 200 years ago and features her, but she is only 107, so this has to be earlier than the 2000s) but then you say theres neon lighting which first turned up in the early 1900 and arrrrrrggghhhhh my brain hurtsOh, and since the Sanctuaries are now separated, do they have different rules? Do those rules only apply if you're in the specific country the Sanctuary is in or do they have a sphere of influence?

Please work on the formatting of the RPG... You have it there already, but things just need shifted this way and that way. Your major paragraphs should have line spacing between them, otherwise it is a headache to read.

Would still quite like a definite date for the setting. What sort of technology have we got? This surge thing, is there a set time when it occurs? Or could all the players start of as a jack-of-all-trades with a little knowledge in each school of magic?Oh, and how does one get to become a Grand Mage? Just wondered how China Sorrows got the job if everyone distrusts her

Submitting for approval. I trust you have all received your bribes. :PJoking aside....Star Wars: Odysseys Staffed by: Basilisk, Kothra“For agony and spoilOf nations beat to dust,For poisoned air and tortured soilAnd cold, commanded lust,And every secret woeThe shuddering waters saw—Willed and fulfilled by high and low—Let them relearn the Law.”-Rudyard Kipling, Justice (Oct. 24, 1918).“The first duty of a revolutionist is to get away with it. The second duty is to eat breakfast. I ain't going.”-Abbie HoffmanThe galaxy is a big place and it certainly isn’t getting smaller. The year is 42 BBY (Before the Battle of Yavin, an OOC method of judging dates in the SW universe), and the galaxy seems ready to fall apart at the seams. The Galactic Republic is deadlocked, corrupt and inefficient, their military, under-armed and thinly spread. This state of affairs has allowed a host of undesirables to flourish in the Outer Rim: criminals, pirates, smugglers and petty warlords hold sway there, and there seems little the Republic can do about it. Wars between planetary militaries often wage incessantly until the Republic’s famed “peace keepers” arrive to settle the matter. The Jedi Order, however, is still strong, and ruled by a decisive Council - while the Republic declines, the Jedi maintain their strength and vigilance. But they are only one organization. They cannot be everywhere and in the shadows, on planets that have not seen a Jedi for centuries, business in the underworld goes on unmolested. The Jedi Order is not the only force in the galaxy; criminal syndicates, planetary militaries and other forces vie with each other for control. This is the end of an era. The Republic is collapsing under the weight of its own corruption and the fires of war dance in many sectors. It is not, however, the end of the galaxy - business is business after all. There are still profits to be made and there still those who seek to make them, be they bounty hunters, salesmen or soldiers. The fate of the galaxy hangs on the edge of knife, but there are those who openly mock fate every day, who taunt death and thumb their noses at the Force itself, and for them, life goes on.It follows, in a scenario like this, that the future is not set in stone: the Battle of Yavin might never happen, the shadowy threat waiting to strike at the very heart of the Republic might never appear, or it might trip and fall onto seventy-six blaster bolts. No outcome is guaranteed. One thing is certain however, the galaxy is in for interesting times.GameplayAs you might have guessed from the introduction, this RPG takes place in the Star Wars galaxy. The entire galaxy is open to your characters. They can explore it, try to burn it down or simply try to live their lives. It’s completely up to you. The galaxy in this RPG is very organic and it will respond to major player actions, if you off a pirate lord on Hoth then you’ll have a few of his friends chasing after you for example. There is no true main conflict in this RPG. It is made of many conflicts. Some wars are minor, and will never trouble more than a few rimward systems. Others will, if those pulling the strings are allowed to proceed as they wish, spread from one end of the galaxy to the other, bringing bloodshed and horror to every race, every planet, every home. You don’t need to concern yourselves with these conflicts, you can make your own well enough, but know that war, like many other things, is subject to inertia - the Colicoids, for all their violent tendencies, will not go to war just because some roguishly handsome smuggler landed on their planet and said a few rousing words. They'll just eat the fool, but the distinct absence of war-due-to-a-stranger's-speech is a common thing in the galaxy. Conflicts will flare up, the Huk War is just around the corner when we start this thing off, but you don't have to enter into it. It'll play out regardless. But if you involve yourself...well, the outcome can change. Canon conflicts will be explored in deeper detail in this RPG, and if things go differently, the staff will introduce new conflicts born out of these events. Peace is fleeting after all.Overall, your character is being given the amount of freedom people have in real life. They’ll need a job or a good source of funds to survive and if they’re clever and quick they can really go places. But not everyone makes it in real life and not everyone will make it here. There is no real limit to the types of character you can create, save for one. You can’t start out rich enough to build a gold-plated tower. All that power is worth nothing because you didn’t earn it, you started out with it, and what's more, those reading the RPG don't get to see all the wacky adventures you had in obtaining the wealth. That’s not fair to other players who started out with nothing and worked their way up. So anyone who tries submitting a character who’s the leader of the Techno Union is going to have that character rejected. They’ll also have to endure a lecture from yours truly, along with anyone else who wishes to chime in.Each character is also assigned an income level, low and medium, high and very high. This is to give you a general idea of what you can buy. Low income means you’ll just have the basics…if that. Medium means you might be able to avoid a ship if you scrapped and saved and were very stingy. It’s middle-class basically. High means you can afford a very nice ship, a nice villa and such as. Very high is what Donald Trump would make, and is only the result of hard work on your part. You will not start out with a very high income. Some characters, such as bounty hunters, live job to job. So in this case every job you take will be assigned an income. Be warned, if your character gets ten high paying jobs in a row without a break between them then I will crack down on it. You won’t get the best jobs all the time. It’s a fact of life. Income is used to determine what your character can afford for the most part. I don't want people buying dreadnoughts right off the bat.Your characters can, of course, own ships in this RPG - we aren't trying to leave you stranded on Hoth. The RPG does use a time system for traveling via ship. This time system depends on the length of your post, long posts (seven paragraphs or so) can count for as much as a week. Six paragraphs can count for six days and so on and so forth. Of course, this upper limit only applies if you wish it to. You can have seven paragraphs count only for a minute if you really get into the description. In general, a post can count for less than it normally would if you want it to but it can’t count for more the maximum amount of time for the amount paragraphs. Six paragraphs can’t count for more than six days, but five paragraphs can count for an hour. Some Hyperdrives are better than others of course; it takes two IC weeks to get from the Outer Rim to the Core with a class one hyperdive. For every number higher than one, add in six days to the travel time. Meaning if you have a class one, you can get there in two seven paragraph posts, but if you have a class two, you need two seven paragraph posts and one six paragraph post. Using this core-to-rim as measurement system, if it’s half the distance then it’s half the time. So if you are traveling half the distance to the core, it’ll take one week at class one. If it’s a quarter of the distance then it’s a quarter of the time and so on and so forth. There will be time-skips on occasion so that we can keep things moving.Combat works in a fairly simple manner, if it is PC versus PC, you will post until one of you outwits the other and forces them to flee or slays them. If, by virtue of being intelligent and a good planner, someone manages to force your character into a situation where they will die…I suggest surrendering. Your characters will likely die otherwise. It sucks, but it happens. Be careful and quick when dealing with untrustworthy folks and don’t let your guard down. I won’t be sympathetic if you blunder into a known crime lord’s lair, insult him and then complain when your character is fed to the Rancor. I really will not. NPC vs PC combat is much the same. Provided it’s not an official NPC, you’ll be in control of the battle. But you will do both sides justice or I will step in and make sure your enemies behave in a competent and intelligent fashion. That said, some people are quite stupid. Provided this is stated beforehand and provided they haven’t hired on someone competent, you needn’t worry about doing them justice. But be aware that stupid beings rarely get into positions of power and those that do normally have competent security.Keep in mind that this is a story, this isn’t a game to be won. People playing to win will find that they will be viewed…less then favorably. Tell a good story, that’s worth more than trying to “win” something that cannot be won. Most aspects of the canon are included, Palpatine is still plotting away, the Trade Federation still exists…but I will be changing some aspects of the canon as we encounter them. Sometimes SW canon is contradictory or would drag down the RPG and I reserve the right to change if it becomes necessary. This is just a general rundown of gameplay, more specific information on the powers and state of the galaxy is included under the “Powers of the Galaxy” heading belowPowers of the GalaxyThis is a primer on the major forces in the galaxy. Don’t consider it a to be-all end-all faction list. Such an undertaking would take months to complete. These are the major players, if you want to join a faction that’s not listed here but existed at this time, go right ahead. This intended to give you a general idea about the state of the galaxy. The Galactic RepublicThe Republic has stood for countless years and has stood through countless storms. It has stood through many Sith Wars, many civil wars and various other challenges and emerged victorious. Many thought this golden era would never end. That the Republic would remain a light of democracy and freedom for many years to come, that the Senate would remain dedicated to its cause and that the supreme chancellors would continue to rule with wisdom. This was not to be, the Republic has gradually slid further and further into corruption. The Senate is now a hopeless battlefield and any remnant of bipartisanship and cooperation has vanished. Differing political interests clash with increasing ferocity and hatred and all the while people die in wars, people are enslaved and many other atrocities are carried and due to the ongoing deadlock, the Republic can do nothing. Its institutions have decayed and their sense of purpose is being lost. The Republic is massive and covers much of the galaxy, this made it difficult to administer in the best of times and the current chaos has not been kind to it. It is inefficient and slow and its military is slowly but surely aging and is quite small and overworked. Supreme Chancellor Kalpana is widely viewed as incompetent and ineffective. These problems are formidable but there is hope that the Republic will experience a resurgence. This is not the worst time the Republic has lived through and surely it will be able to withstand this challenge as it has withstood so many others. It is still large, there are still powerful economic forces that could be harnessed by it. All of its old resources are there but to utilize them one would first have to navigate the byzantine corridors of a corrupt and scheming senate. The Jedi OrderThe Jedi Order remains powerful, a beacon of order in these chaotic times. It has remained as stable and strong as the foundations of its temple. They seek to confront and destroy the chaos slowly consuming the galaxy in any way they can. Not only are they formidable warriors, but they maintain a powerful armed force (some would say private army) known as the Temple Security Force. The Temple Security Force consists of both nonforce sensitive’s and would-be Jedi that didn’t quite make the grade. They were originally used for simple security, but they have been deployed into battle with the Jedi with increasing frequency. But this order has come at a price. The Jedi Order is ruled by a theocratic council whose rule is law, and while they might accept differing opinions, they decide how the Order runs and it is they who decide what happens to dissenters. If they wish to execute or exile a Jedi, then that is what will happen. There are no checks on their power. Understandably, many people are reluctant to join the Order because of this Council, so since its formation the Order has recruited/conscripted children, sometimes with the consent of the parents and sometimes without it. They believe they are doing the children a favor, that if they do not act then the children will destroy themselves with their force powers. Perhaps they are right, more then one Force Adept as gone insane. The Jedi Order works closely with the Republic it often deploys its forces to enforce the will of the Senate and to maintain order and peace in the galaxy. Of course, one beings peace is another beings oppression…The Sith OrderThe Sith Order no longer exists in the traditional sense. It consists of small enclaves and master-apprentice pairs scattered throughout the galaxy. The Sith Order was once powerful enough to challenge the Jedi on the field of battle but that is no longer the case. They are remnant of their former glory and can no longer be said to be a truly united organization. If any Sith are even aware of the others they tend to keep silent about it. The Sith Order know takes many forms, a fellow who stumbled upon a holocron, an old master teaching his students in a deserted monastery, a shadowy plotter seeking the power he needs to rebuild his order…they are all of these and more. Many consider the Sith to be evil, servants of a malevolent Dark Side. This is not the case, the Sith merely view the Force differently than the Jedi and use it differently. The reason for the continuous war between the two Orders has more in common with a cycle of revenge than anything else. The Sith philosophy is different from the Jedi’s in many respects, but the most important difference is an emphasis on freedom. The Sith do not believe they should restrict themselves to a life of kowtowing to a Council or the word of another. They seek their own way, this is not a philosophy without its flaws however, it attracts its fair share of psychotics and criminals who have killed many thousands of innocents and lit the galaxy afire with war many times in the past. This is part of the reason the Sith are viewed in such a negative way, the other is the fact that few of their records survive in public databanks or outside the libraries of the remaining Sith. This means the Jedi Order, their dedicated enemy, has had centuries to preach their view of things while the Sith are in no position to contradict them. What’s worse, the remnants of the Sith are slowly but surely being hunted down by a force far more terrible then the Jedi. What’s left of them is vanishing at a startling rate. This, added with the fact the Jedi remain ever-vigilant for any sign of Sith activity, bodes ill for the future of the Sith Order.CorporationsThis group includes everything from the Trade Federation, the Commerce Guild to a humble junk shop on Tatooine. Some are the masters of the galactic economy; juggernauts of commercial power wield immense influence in the galaxy. Their credits flow into the pockets of employee’s on thousands upon thousands of different worlds. Some are merely confined to one world and must scrap and save to get by and make ends meet. This is not a united group, corporations compete with each other fiercely for profits and resources and their weapons in this conflict are many. Many pan-galactic corporations have their own representatives in the senate…many of whom are promptly bogged down and unable to do anything of worth because of the sluggish and corrupt nature of the place. Current senate policies on corporate power are contradictory at best and have given many a lawyer reason to spend a week crying into a drink at a popular pub. Transitioning from an efficient corporate atmosphere to the byzantine maze of galactic politics’ is not something most corporations manage with anything resembling ease. At times they use money to lubricate the wheels of power to push through a bill even knowing that the next time the corruption will be worse, the bribes bigger and the cost higher in the long run. They simply do not see many options. Some corporations take advantage of this however, using the chaos and constant debates to crush their rivals and lure senators into their pockets. Some ambitious vice presidents have even use the senate to land their leader a prison senate so they can secure the top position for themselves. Many corporations are also taking advantage of the chaos…war means profit after all.OtherThis is not a true power but I have included it as a catch-all for planetary militaries, security organizations, mercenaries, bounty-hunters, force adepts and other organizations that simply do not fit into the above categories. Here be pirates, slime, good hearted rouges, dedicated militia soldiers and more. Groups in this category probably don’t wield much power in galactic politics, but there may be exceptions.Example PlanetsThese planets are a few examples of what can be found in the galaxy. This is not an exhaustive list and only details a few planets out of hundreds. All of these worlds are open for exploration, these is merely intended to give you a few ideas without having to do background research.Coruscant: The beating heart of the galaxy. This planet is the center of the galactic economy, politics’ and so much more. It may not be the center of the galaxy in the physical sense, but it might as well be. This city-planet is one giant sprawling urban landscape. Skyscrapers stretch far into the sky, built upon the foundations or outright on top of older buildings. Here lays the offices of the Supreme Chancellor, the Galactic Senate and many other offices of the Republic. The Jedi also make their home here, in the massive Jedi Temple. Beneath the glitz and glamour of the upper city however, the criminals of the under city hold sway, law enforcement units and Jedi rarely venture into the under city without good reason. Attempts to crush this criminal underworld have taken place, but they have met with mixed success to say the least. It is located in core.Korriban: This world bears the scars of millennia of warfare and deadly research. Its landscape consists mostly of dry deserts, canyons and large mountain ranges. It’s an arid world any sea’s that exist in these world are underground with only scattered oasis breaking up the dry landscape. The mountains harbor marginally more life then the rest of the planet, but since that life mostly consists of rouge Sith Spawn and various dangerous creatures the mountains are just as dangerous, if not more so, then the rest of the planet. Tough Sithspawn both sentient and nonsentient scratch out a living in the wastes and in the ruined cities of many Sith Empires, the creatures native to this planet, the original Sith, are believed to be extinct. This planet is exceptionally dangerous and the only reason anyone lands there is to scavenge for valuable Sith artifacts. Most of these scavengers are killed. The rest are driven off. It is located in the Outer rim.Tatooine: A desert planet and something of a hub for criminal activities, there is evidence Tatooine was once much more hospitable but these days it is the proverbial hive of scum and villainy. The settlements on this planet are normally under the control of various crime lords or warlords and their positions are constantly in flux as upstarts overthrow some and are overthrown in turn. The wild life on Tatooine is somewhat mild compared to the wild life of Korriban, with the exception of the Krayt dragon. It is located in the Outer Rim.Neimoidia: The home world of the Neimoidian species and located in the Colonies this is a planet of jungles, fungus farms and fields. The climate can be somewhat oppressive and humid. It is a very wealthy planet and it’s cities are amongst the greatest in the galaxy in the terms of design and credit value. It’s wildlife is mostly insectoid, with the large harvester beetles being an excellent source of profits for the planet’s Neimoidian inhabitants.Kalee: The history of Kalee (located in the Outer Rim) is a tragedy. It’s native people are a brave race of warriors known as the Kaleesh have been oppressed by the brutal Huk colonization forces for many years. The planet itself is home to a variety of terrains, with tropical forests being the most common. Deserts, temperate regions and artic icecaps also call this planet home. Before the arrival of the Huk colonization force, the Kalee had some colonies scattered amongst the stars near it. Now these colonies are held in bondage like their mother planet. But change is in the air, the Kaleesh are proud and canny warriors. The time to strike back is fast arriving…Rules1. All BZP rules apply. No hate speech, no flaming, no spamming and all that good stuff.2. We’re using the IC and OOC system. Use IC for things your character says and does, use OOC for what you say. It’s quite simple really.3. No controlling other people’s characters without permission. Use common sense here.4. Be polite. At least within the confines of this topic. If you want to have it out with someone via PM, by all means do so. Just don’t drag this topic into it.5. Keep this PG-13. Lovingly crafted posts describing a man being disemboweled accomplish nothing but making the rest of us a bit uneasy. Combat is dirty and bloody, but extended torture scenes and other such things are best left implied.6. No g-modding. Your character is not invincible. If your merchant is trying to fight someone’s bounty hunter, chances are he’s going to lose. I will not be lenient with this. This also applies to meta gaming. You might know what poisons can kill a Hutt, but your character doesn’t unless he’s spent a very long time and risked his neck quite a lot to ferret out that information.7. PM me or my trusted assistant Kothra with my profiles. Once we approve them, post them in the topic. After this, you can start posting the RPG.8. I should stress this, YOUR CHARACTERS CAN DIE. If they do something stupid, your characters will likely die. You try charging that police barricade with a vibro-knife? Dead or heavily wounded. I’m not out to kill your characters, but victory is meaningless without the danger of true and lasting defeat.9. Jedi and Sith characters need personal approval from one of the RPG staff. Send us a profile and a five paragraph statement telling us why we should let you have one of these powerful characters. Be professional and clinical when writing the statement. Appeals to emotion will get you nowhere.10. Only staff can control “canon” characters. We may give certain players permission to do so if we choose. Furthermore, you will assume canon characters in positions of power, Nute Gunray, Wat Tambor and such as got there by being clever and quick. These aren’t people you can scam or take down easily. If you try, it’ll end badly for you. Your PC isn’t automatically the most competent person in the room and you will keep that in mind at all times. NPC’s are not punching bags and their fortresses and homes aren’t made of wet card board. If you want to say, take down Gunray, you’ll need a good place, a small army and the ability to convince me it’ll work. This means armies wielding rapid fire weapons marching slowly and in rank towards another army will not exist here. NPC’s will use cover, flanking and various other clever tactics. Similarly, battle droids and soldiers were designed or trained for war and they are very good at it. A random pirate wielding a blaster pistol isn’t going to do well against a squad of them….without a good plan at least.11. I’ll borrow this from ToA, when writing your profile include this numerical sequence: 10101010.12. I reserve the right to add to the rules at any time I see fit.Punishments will vary. A first offense is normally a warning, but if it’s large enough offense then I’ll act in a harsher manner. Second offense means you are banned from the RPG for two weeks. Third is five weeks plus the loss of all your characters. A fourth offense means you are no longer welcome here. Don’t violate the rules and we won’t have a problem.ProfilesFill out the information below, send it to one of the staff and if we approve, post it in the topic and get RPing. Be sure to read everything else on this page first though.Name: What do they call themselves?Species: No custom species, if you don’t know all the species in Star Wars, don’t worry, they are humans there as well. Just put that down and you’ll be fine.Gender (if applicable):Home Planet: (Where were they born? Where do they live?)Occupation (with an estimation of income, high, low etc):Abilities: (Medic? Good with a knife? Excellent debater?)Force Abilities (for force sensitive’s only, be warned, playing as a force sensitive will attract some attention. The kind you don't want, if you don’t know what the Force is, it is a metaphysical energy that force sensitive’s can tap into and use. It allows to some telepatheic and telekinetic powers amongst other things)Equipment/Tools: Armor? Fusion Cutter? What do they have that they use for various tasks?Weapons: Blaster? Slug thrower? What do they use when they want to punch holes into a another being?Appearance: What do they wear? Are their eyes green? How many limbs do they have? A picture or a description will suffice.Personality: Calm? Cheery? How do they act?History: Where did that scar come from? Who have they sided with in the past? Who do they side with know? Are they a smuggler? How did they get that way?Name: Every ship has a name be it "Lady Bright" or "RandomshipIdon'tcareabout-0005."Model: What type of ship is it? A YT-1300 like the the Falcon?Function: Transport? Gunship?Weapons: Because it is utterly stupid to go about in space without something to shoot at incoming threats. All ships have some type of weapon, even if the canon says differently. If your ship, canonically, starts out with nothing then you can assume it starts out with one basic laser cannon.Modifications: Have you made any modifications to it? A new hyperdrive? A shiny turbolaser? Is it longer then normal? Does it have a new module attached?History: How did you purchase it? What caused that blast mark on the hull? Did she ever complete the Kessel run?

I believe you find life such a problem because you think there are the good people and the bad people. You are wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides.

Mm. Point. I'll draw that up. I'll add in a guide to some planets. With the note that if they want to travel to more, they can darn well do the research themselves. Ten seems like a good number.

I added in five example planets, as that's the number the other SW RPG's listed. That and it's quite difficult to decide which planets are important.

Trad: I feel that the introduction to the game needs to be rewritten. There's just something irksome about the choppy intro that takes up like half of the game page. Instead of giving us a mishmash of dialogue and crashcourse in history, try making it one smooth segway into the game itself with the same style of narrative, and definitely try to shorten it. The room you open up with a shorter intro will also allow you to spend more time explaining the other components of the game.I feel more in-depth descriptions of the sanctuaries should be made; these are apparently major places, so more information on them would be required. Overall, if you clean up the narrative and give us more uncluttered information, it would stand a better chance to get my approval.Basalisk: I like how you've taken a very old and trodden saga and reinvented it for us to explore once again in a sandbox format. I like what you've done, especially with the Sith. I look forward to seeing how this turns out and probably play it, too. Let's see if you can master a game of this scope. :PStar Wars: Odysseys approved.

If you are hearing this, we need help! Both humanity and Digimon have lived in peace, with humanity unaware of these creatures that live right under their noses. Until now. A dark force has rised in the Digital World, planning to take control of all Digimon and eventually, the human world. However, a new hope rises as Digidestined rise, and take their roles into saving the Digiworld. But as the numbers of light rise, so does the number in darkness. But the new Digidestined will meet, and fight together to save the digital world.<br /><br />Will you be a Digidestined and save the Digiworld, and the Real world?<br /><br />Or will you be a part of the Virus, and aid in the conquering of both worlds?<br /><br />This is your path, your journey, you choose what path you want to take. This is about your stories, how you will fit into play.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Digimon: Generations</strong><br /><br />Welcome to Digimon: Generations!<br /><br />Appearances of corrupt Digimon have entered the real world, though only few accounts. More and more started to come, and they started to kidnap children for unknown reasons, and it seems no one can prevent it. However, a new hope rises, as Digidestined are selected, to enter the digital world save the worlds. Welcome, to the digital world. You can be one of the Digidestined, a human chosen with a partner Digimon to protect both our worlds. You will be granted a Digivice, a machine that will aid in you on your journey, helping you evolve your partner into much more powerful forms. You are chosen to protect the Digital World, as well as the Real World from this virus. But will you be protecting our worlds? Or would you choose to abuse your power and fight along side the virus that plans to destroy the Digital World? That is for you to decide.<br /><br /> <strong class='bbc'>Digimon</strong>:<br /><br /><br />But this is the most important question, and one some of you may ask... What is a digimon? It is a resident of the Digiworld, a creature composed of digital data. Though they are mainly data, they are similar to us. They feel pain, they laugh, they cry. Digimon are somewhere between animals and people. They look like animals, but they can think, talk and build their own cities, such as Leomon and Bearmon. Some of them are even very human like in appearance, like Gallantmon or Sakuyamon. Digimon also act like humans, in social ways, talking, thinking, they have a soul like us. They are our partners, our friends as the Digidestined have showed. They are at ourside, ready to aid us, as we should aid them. Join your digimon and save or conquer the worlds! You will meet your Digimon when you first enter the Digital World, with the aid of your Digivice to get into the Digital World of course.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Vaccine</strong><br /><br />Digimon of this attribute are kind, noble, caring and brave. They are often appealing to the eye or have bright colors as their skin or clothes. They fight against the Virus Types and fight for the light.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Virus</strong><br /><br />Digimon who are often pranksters or even malicious. They often cause mischief in the Digital world and have a higher chance of being corrupted, turning them into even more evil digimon. But if trained properly, they can be quite a powerful ally.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Data</strong><br /><br />Neither good or bad. They are neutral to either side and can go either way. However, they do have a sense of right and wrong, but they have a hard time deciding if they should do good or mischief.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Digidestined</strong>:<br /><br />It is said only children that are destined to enter the Digital World may enter and pass freely The Digiworld, with the aid of their Digivices. These children are paired with a chosen Digimon, and help train them, as they help them digivolve to more powerful forms. They are said to be the ones who aid the digital world, and who will vanquish the virus. As a Digidestined, you have control over your partner Digimon and your Digidestined character.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Virus Empire</strong>:<br /><br />An organization of virus digimon, lead by an unknown leader. They plan to plummet the worlds into darkness, and corrupt them, and they did a good job with the Digital World. They want to corrupt and enslave other Digimon, to make an army, and it seems not all Digidestined are of good, as some have sided with the Virus Empire.<br /><br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>The Corruption</strong><br /><br />The Corruption, the virus that corrupts the data in the Digital World. Even though Virus types are mean and sometimes malicious, they aren't the bad guys. The corruption, however, makes them villains, and bad guys. It takes longer on Vaccines. The corruption is the cause of this, turning any digimon into mindless beasts, who follow an unknown master who lurks in the shadows.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>DigiWorld's Regions:</strong><br /><br />The digital world seems to go on forever, the Virus Empire has their main fortress near the nine crest regions:<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Gigabyte Volcano:</strong><br /><br />A large land with several volcanos and rivers of lava. Many Fire and Dragon digimon live here, where they train and fight, every digimon here is very brave an courageous, an will never back down from a fight. It is pretty hot so pack some sun screen and water! Two thirds of this region is corrupt.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Frostbyte Mountains:</strong><br /><br />A cold icy land with many mountains, and the grass and trees covered with pure white snow. Mainly ice, beast and mammal digimon live here, like Grizzlymon and Friggimon. Digimon here are always at each others side, and will help travelers out of the cold. It's pretty cold, some hot coco would help you here. Half of the region is corrupt.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Sky Region:</strong><br /><br />High above the Crest Regions, the sky regions is home to Bird and Flying Digimon. They are very loving and don't really hold grudges against people, this region hasn't been corrupted by the Virus Empire, and they don't want to get into the conflict. The clouds are so soft you might fall asleep if you lie down on them too long. Because of the inhabitants peace loving nature, a good portion of the region has been corrupted due to them not wanting to fight.<br /><br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Mechan City</strong><br /><br />The most advanced of the regions, many cyborg and machine digimon live here, as well as several vehicle digimon here to transport other digimon across the regions, similar to that of New York Coty or Tokyo, with many stores and cities that sell goods like ours'. There are many skyscrapers, similar to our own, and the digimon here are very wise and intelligent. This place is currently, fully corrupted<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Dawning Village</strong><br /><br />This is where digimon are born, or revived. This place, luckily has not been corrupted, but the Virus Empire is planning to conquer this village to build their armies. Many fresh and in-training digimon live here and play, waiting for their human partners. The digimon here have done their best to prevent the virus from coming, but still struggle to keep the Virus at bay.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Ubi Forest</strong><br /><br />A large forest with several lakes and swamps, with many kind digimon here. Fairy, mammal, beast, insect, amphibion and reptile digimon live in this huge forest. This region is the biggest of the regions, (on the ground that is), and four quarters of it has been corrupted, leaving the remaining uncorrupted digimon fighting for their lives.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Purity Island</strong><br /><br />A small island off of the main regions, this place has not been corrupted, being guarded by Angel Digimon. Several angel and fairy digimon live here, staying clear from the battle raging on. It is said this is an entrance to the Kernal.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Magna Beach</strong><br /><br />A giant cresent shaped beach leading out to the ocean, many water, fish, reptile, beast and human digimon live here. This is a nice vacation spot in the regions, and is the way to get to the Purity Island by riding on the fish digimon. This place is near full corruption, as this is the way to Purity Island.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Mother Board City</strong><br /><br />This city lies in the center of the regions, with many human and beast digimon leaving here, with a few machine digimon as well. Below this, is the under ground fortress of the Virus Empire, however the digimon are unaware of this. Only very parts of the city are corrupt, though, only to prevent to much attention if this city was unusually corrupt, as something lies beneath the city.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>The Virus Castle</strong><br /><br />A giant underground fortress, it has a very erie feeling to it, bringing fear into even the bravest of hearts. This fortress is huge, spanding under the Volcano, Main City, and the beach regions, allowing quick access and travel to the surface. Corruption runs through its veins.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Terrabyte Plains/Starmon Town</strong><br /><br />A huge desert like region, with a town in the middle of the region, which is similar to an old frontier town back during old pioneer age. Other than the town, there is nothing but a huge canyon, cacti and tumbeweeds. This region has become corrupt since the sheriff went missing, who was said to be the protector of the town.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>The Kernal</strong><br /><br />The Kernal is home to all angel digimon, including the Celestial Digimon. No one but the digimon that LCD here know what it looks like, as it is mainly kept hidden away from the digital world to protect it from any means of corruption. <br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Important Items</strong>:<br /><br />Digi-Egg (Normal): A Digi-egg is where digimon are born from. There are two kinds, one is where digimon are born from, the other is Armor Digi-Eggs. Digimon are either born, or reborn as a Digi-Egg. Those who are reborn as a Digi-Egg, retain their memories, or only some, or even in the rarest of cases, not at all. If a Digimon's data is consumed by another Digimon, they cannot be reborn as a Digi-Egg, as their data is now fused with the one that consumed it.<br /><br />Nightmare Rocks: A strange ore that causes the virus to seep its way the data of the digital world, though only a small perimeter, such as a large village or a small town. It is filled with the same virus that corrupts that data of digimon, though, these rocks can be destroyed.<br /><br />Digivice: You gateway to the digital world and way to evolve your hoses digimon, these are used by the Digidestined. These are the only electronic devices to work in the digital world, plus they can hold data on Digimon, and keep track of the digimon your have meet. They can also create beams of light, cure Digimon who are corrupt and a rare effect sometimes from curing a Digimon can lead them to easily digivolve.<br /><br />Types/Classes:<br /><br />Adventure/Classic: The Adventure, or Classic Digivice, has all the original functions and powers, such as digivolution and tracking other Digivices.<br /><br />(More to come as story progresses)<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>Digimon Forms</strong>:<br /><br />Fresh: New born Digimon<br /><br />In-training: The start of Digimon training, and the form they take in the Real World until they become stronger.<br /><br />Rookie: The first of the fighting forms, they are typically weaker than Champion Digimon and above, but there are some exceptions (PM the staff if you want your digimon be stronger, within reason). these are default forms for the start of your journey.<br /><br />Champion: The middle point of their forms, showing that they are strong. It is extremely hard for normal digimon to digivolve, but with the aid of the Digidestined they can evolve with ease after some training.<br /><br />Ultimate: For most Digimon, the pennicle of their training and strength. They are far more powerful than normal digimon, these are a rare class of digimon that normal digimon can't achieve so easily, however, it can be achieved, but it is unknown how.<br /><br />Mega: Even rarer, and a harder form to achieve, Mega Form Digimon are the strongest of all their previous forms. Some Digimon of this form are leaders or commanders. This is a mark of mastery for those Digidestined who managed to have their digimon achieve this form, same goes for Digimon. <br /><br /><br />Need help choosing a digimon? <br /><br />Click here for the link to all of the canon digimon.<br /><br />Digimon: <a href='http://digimon.wikia.com/wiki/Category:Digimon_species'>Digimon species - Digimon Wiki: Go on an adventure to tame the frontier and save the xrosed world!</a><br /><br /><strong class='bbc'>NOTE</strong><br /><br />Custom digimon can be used, HOWEVER, please make sure you have the following down.<br /><br />-A text description of the custom digimon or a drawing, for the rookie form and its other forms it can take.<br />-Each form must have more than two moves, but no more than 8<br />-You must have all the forms for the digivolution of the custom digimon.<br />-You must describe what type it is (either vaccine, virus, or data), this goes for its other forms<br />-Describe each move that might need explaining<br />-You must make sure each name of each digimon ends in "mon", such as Agumon, Leomon or Digmon.<br />-You must PM the custom digimon with following explained to the Game master for approval, please note that it may take time for the Game Master to respond, and he will tell you if you need to change anything.<br /><br /><br />Digivolutions:<br /><br />What is digivolving? As he picked up the device and turned it on he was suddenly transported through a portal to the Digital worldDigivice: Red colored Adventure/Classic Digivice<br /><br /><span style='font-size: 14px;'><strong class='bbc'>Digimon</strong></span><br /><br />Type: Vaccine<br /><br />Apperance: <a href=')_b.jpg<br /><br />Personality: Agumons personality is much like Jaces.<br /><br /><strong class='bbc'><span style='font-size: 14px;'>Forms</span></strong><br /><br />Fresh: Botamon (<a href='http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090127172223/digimon/images/a/ae/Botamon_b.jpg'>http://images4.wikia...e/Botamon_b.jpg</a>)<br /><br />In-training: Koromon (<a href='http://images3.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090128045821/digimon/images/3/33/Koromon_b.jpg'>http://images3.wikia...3/Koromon_b.jpg</a>)<br /><br />Rookie: Agumon (<a href=')_b.jpg)<br /><br />Champion: GeoGreymon (<a href='http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090205055230/digimon/images/d/dd/GeoGreymon_b.jpg'>http://images4.wikia...eoGreymon_b.jpg</a>)<br /><br /><br />Name: Kane Williams<br /><br />Gender: Male<br /><br />Age: 17<br /><br />Apperance: Kane has dark blonde hair that is a bit long and jagged and spiked to the side, he has two piercing blue eyes and a handsome face with a sort of too cool for everything attitude. He usually wears a dark grey tank-top, with a small tan cloak he found, also a pair of brown gloves that belonged to his father. For shoes he wears a pair of plain brown boots. He's a bit tall, standing at 6'1'' and very slender.<br /><br />Personality: Kane is a brooding and loner type. He usually feels that he is too cool for most things, so he ends up hanging out by himself or his few friends. He can be quite mean or rude to people because he often times thinks he is better then others. He is very competitive and he always wants to win.<br /><br />Bio: Kane was born in Chicago, but his parents soon moved to Japan due to his fathers work. At the age of twelve he had to adjust to the new country and learn how to speak the native tongue. It took him a while to master it, but eventually he did. He then became a popular kid as his school since he was the only American boy. He showed off with his American style, and how cool he was, working out a lot in the gym to keep his body well toned. When he was seventeen he was walking down the street one night when suddenly a huge portal opened up in front of him. Kane looked around and then moved closer to check it out, but suddenly he fell in, finding himself in the Digital world, along with his new Digimon companion, Tsunomon, who quickly digivolved into BlackGabumon. For the sake of her continued survival, she's willing to throw her lot in with the digidestined and offer her skills and expertise to them. She's in this for survival however, not out of any moral conviction. If things turn south, don't expect her to fight any rearguard actions of their behalf. Indeed, in such situations she may used them as body shields if her life is truly in danger. Due to a corruption of her code (damaged when she escaped from the Virus army) she can no longer reconstruct herself, if she is deleted, she's gone. For good. Because of this she has a huge concern for her safety and a paranoid nature.<br /><br />Appearance: Elegance, that is the first word that often comes to mind when one see's Alucia. She wears a metal breastplate, with fine black cloths worn underneath, a red cape flows out from her body, attached to the armor. She also sports a golden monocle that she wears in most situations, merely for the feel of it rather than any actual need. Her skin is a pale gray and bears an uncomfortable resemblance to that of dead, but not decayed, human flesh. Her hair is gray and no longer grows due to the data corruption. This corruption has made her look unhealthy even by the standards of the undead and by extension, makes her more fragile looking as well. Her eyes are a light orange, they tend to glow in the dark, making her a target and granting her the ability to see in the dark. Her clothes are made from the finest materials and despite the marked decrease of her access to the resources to properly maintain such a wardrobe, she somehow managed to keep them repair and in good condition. She also sports two fangs, though one is chipped, another flaw introduced by the corruption.<br /><br />Personality: Alucia is a political being through and through. She knows the ebb and flow of political power in the digi-world like she knows the back of her hand. She has a sharp mind and her personality is quite focused on self-interest. She isn't evil, merely pragmatic. Her foremost concern is her own survival and currently, that is tied to the defeat of the Virus Army. She is well-spoken and even charming at times, she can get along with most anyone when she puts her mind to it. She is also quite anaylitical, able to break down the motivations of a being from their actions quite quickly.<br /><br />Abilities: Due to her weakened state, she only retains a few of her abilities.<br /><br /> Nightmare Wing (allowing to fire bolts of electricity that turns the target into a paranoid, mistrusting mess essentially), Nightmare Claw (shrouds the victim in black energy, paralyzing them) and Crimson Lightening (uses a stream of blood like a whip) she also wields a well-crafted sword, feeling she need's extra protection in her weakened state.<br /><br />Forms: None, she's stuck in her current form due to the corruption of her data. She cannot evolve or de-evolve and it is likely attempting to do so will delete her. Permanently. Understandably she is quite unwilling to experiment because of that.<br /><br /><br />Digimon: Shadowbmon<br />Appearance: A haunting digimon made of shadows, he has no real form other than he personal form, which looks like the Shadow Blot. However, his eyes are red like blood, his right arm is thin till the hand which is huge and has talons, while his right arm is thin are the upper arm, but it is Collin like near the bottom, with a fat, think hand with small fingers, his whole body is held together by stitches, and he has no shadow, as he is one.<br />Type: Virus<br />Personality: A sadistic, malicious, and corrupt digimon, he is insane and is purely evil. Formed by the bad thoughts and attributes of digimon who are dead, he is also composed of said digimon's worst fears, and has the power to control them. He is the leader of the Virus Empire<br />Forms unlocked:<br />Moves: <br />Nightmarish Illusion: Forms a realistic illusion that traps the foe in their worst nightmares.<br /><br />Data Corrupt: Can control Digimon by injecting its data into them, though this can be cured by a Digivice.<br />

Just to check, you only get one Digimon, right? You can't go round collecting them like Pokemon and making your own personal army?If Crests are the only thing differentiating Digidestined and Tamers, what do crests do, exactly? They just seem to be necklaces, are they only aesthetic? How do Digimon evolve in-game? I'm assuming they can't just leap to Mega whenever the player likes, and have to start at fresh-born? If so, how do they gain access to the higher forms? Do you allow them to evolve to Ultimate as a reward? Is it just number of posts?

Digivolutions:What is digivolving? Well it's how Digimon become stronger. These are the types we will use in the game:Basic: Basic form of evolution. From here, there are three branches of digivolving.Special/Advanced.Armor: Using special digi-eggs, digimon can evolve through Armor evolution, with three kinds of digi-eggs to use, champion, ultimate (found by crest) and mega (found by emotion).
Because your coding has gone slightly wrong and bolded everything, I'm not entirely sure what I'm looking at. Is "Special/Advanced" a new heading, or is it one of the three paths you mention Digimon can evolve down? If it is, then with Special and Armour you've got two, where's the third? If its not, what are the three branches you can take from basic? What's this D-Power you mention in the profiles? I didn't spot any mention of that elsewhere

For getting to ultimate, it will take a while, I will see it as a reward so I'll add that to the list. Anyway, D-Power Digivices allow the tamers to use Blue Cards, which can only be used by Tamers to get their digimon to ultimate level, seeing how only the Digidestined can use the powers of crests.I'll give these out when I see that the players are worthy to have them.I'll add this to the list. Also, even though in the games you can collect several digimon, this is based off the anime, everyone has only one.

Re-reviewing the Digimon since modifications have been made. Quick question, but how much does the real world know about the digital one? You mention the real world slowly forgetting, so how much contact was there? 'cuz I reckon if you had giant fantasy monsters running round fighting in our world, people wouldn't forget about it so easilyWhat makes a tamer's methods differ to the digidestined's? From my understanding of digivolution you just spend time with your monster for them to digivolve? So, just to make sure I've got this straight, you can evolve your digimon to ultimate if: a.) you've got enough training, b.) you have a crest and one of the armour eggs or c.) you're a tamer with a blue card. Once you've got to Ultimate (and higher) once can your digimon do it again anytime?Oh, and you might want to give it another run through for spelling and grammar, just for neatnesses sake, since errors kept popping up

Yes to the digimon evolution. Also, I have explained the reasoning for why humans no longer know about the digital world, and also more explanation to the Tamers and what differs them from Digidestined.
