Hapori Tohu
Do you lie awake at night wondering where your next pick-a-brick cup is coming from? Do you need to get to a Lego store within the next three weeks? Do you live in Wauwatosa, WI, Woodlands, TX, or Peabody, MA? If you answered yes to all three questions, then you're in luck! Three new Lego stores are opening at those locations. The first opened this weekend in Wisconsin and the next two are to follow in the next two weeks. More information can be found at the official sites, linked above. If you live in or around those areas, I'd encourage you to go visit! View the full article Quote News Forums Q&A
Meiko
Glad to see LEGO is putting more stores around the place. Don't see them putting any new ones around my area, because I already have 3 in a very reasonable drive (not counting the unreasonableness of driving north towards the DC area though...). Toa Smoke Monster
I didn't know that Woodlands, TX, didn't have a Lego store yet. It's glad that they will soon. Ocie Denver
That's good for anyone lives near those locations. I wish LEGO should put the store in MacArthur Mall in Norfolk, VA. It surely will attach lot of ppl from surrounding cities and NC border.
Peach 00
LEGO is definitely expanding, it seems like. I'm missing the LEGO store that was at my local mall. I was so young when it was around, had I known what BIONICLE was then, probably would have gotten the earlier sets. =/ Quote On the day the wall came down / They threw the locks onto the ground And with glasses high / We raised a cry / For freedom had arrived On the day the wall came down / The ship of fools had finally run aground Promises lit up the night / Like paper doves in flight I dreamed you had left my side / No warmth, not even pride remained And even though you needed me / It was clear that I could not do a thing for you Now life devalues day by day / As friends and neighbors turn away And there's a change that even with regret / Cannot be undone Now frontiers shift like desert sands / While nations wash their bloodied hands Of loyalty, of history / In shades of grey I woke to the sound of drums / The music played, the morning sun streamed in I turned and I looked at you / And all but the bitter residues slipped away slipped away... GSR
Ah, what? I missed the grand opening of my hometown's store? Lame.I'll try and swing by there sometime before I head off to Seattle for the summer, though. I've never actually seen a LEGO store, so I'm curious as to what it'll be like. Sumiki
... here's where I make the comment that LEGO's still improving even in a harsh economy, blah blah blah. But seriously ... how much longer are they going to be able to expand at such a rate? Peach 00
... here's where I make the comment that LEGO's still improving even in a harsh economy, blah blah blah. But seriously ... how much longer are they going to be able to expand at such a rate? They're a big business - they're making huge sales in their leading toy-lines. It's not hard for them to expand so much, nationally, locally - it'd be like a companies like At&t or Verizon expanding their business. Although this is a company creating toys, not one selling cellular phones, so perhaps that's not a good analogy. :PBut I think they can expand their business for about another year or two, where the economy might pick up, with any luck, so maybe for an even longer duration. As long as they conserve the money every so often so they can open up new stores every few months, they shouldn't have to worry about any loss of money in sales. Then again, not being experienced in the business world, I'm probably wrong. =P Quote On the day the wall came down / They threw the locks onto the ground And with glasses high / We raised a cry / For freedom had arrived On the day the wall came down / The ship of fools had finally run aground Promises lit up the night / Like paper doves in flight I dreamed you had left my side / No warmth, not even pride remained And even though you needed me / It was clear that I could not do a thing for you Now life devalues day by day / As friends and neighbors turn away And there's a change that even with regret / Cannot be undone Now frontiers shift like desert sands / While nations wash their bloodied hands Of loyalty, of history / In shades of grey I woke to the sound of drums / The music played, the morning sun streamed in I turned and I looked at you / And all but the bitter residues slipped away slipped away... Cederak
I don't live near any of those places. But I'm happy for anyone in the general areas that will soon be able to experience the fun of their own Lego stores and the cool grand-opening stuff that typically goes along with it. -Ced Quote Cederak's Library l Blog: Fair Enough
