I'm interested in the "Game Points" on Black Phantom's box. I wonder what that could be for.

That Black Phantom is so much better now! I dig that Beetle-esque thing on the blaster. BWEEZ. Splitface is so awesome. And OH MY GOD TEAL, Thornraxx is a must buy. I hate the fact it's a Prison Break series. Darn you LEGO, I was writing a Prison Break story since 2010. :( COME AT ME 2012.

And still no sign of a Pharaoh's Quest continuation? :( On-topic, these look epic. I love the prison break idea. Canister-sized heroes and Matoran-sized villains are both good ideas, too. Doubt I'll buy any of these, though.

Thoughts: Black Phantom - I'm disappointed to be honest; he looks like Fire Lord's brother... which, knowing Hero Factory, he very well might be. His launcher and staff look pretty sweet though. Breez - I'm glad we're getting 2010 helmet designs again. Looks pretty cool. Not 100% certain I like the additions of both white and mata red, but I'll live with it. She actually looks like a really good set to be honest. Evo - Happy to see him back, and that helmet looks awesome. Is that gunmetal or black though? I'll keep my fingers crossed for gunmetal. Also, compared to Furno and Rocka (whom I'm also happy to see return), both Evo and Surge are looking kind of empty. Furno - I've had enough of this guy- or so I thought. That awesome 2010 helmet returns, along with a sweet build. Lovin' the translucent red piece and the motors, but I hope his new body armour works good with the helmet (unlike the 2.0 armour). I'm questioning the addition of white here as well. Jawblade - Hello Fangz!... I mean, brand new set. This thing looks awesome as well, but it has the exact same colour scheme as Fangz. Which is fine and all, but you know. The Furno weapons look cool in red too. I'm also wondering whether Jawblade is a mindless creature or a sentient shark villain. Rocka - The goldmine. Literally. Like Evo, I LOVE Rocka's new 2010-like helmet. That shield is very awesome, and I'm liking the new small armour piece in gold. Once again though, I must wonder if he has black or gunmetal armour. Once again, I am hoping for gunmetal. Splitface - What is up with this guy? I'm surprised that it took LEGO this long to do this, and YET AGAIN I love the helmet. Please please please be gunmetal. I will love this set forever if it is. Surge - Love the return of the mata blue and the 2010 helmet (go figure). The blue electricity shield is pretty sweet, too. Nice re-use of the weapon. However, why on earth does he have lime green?! That's why we have Breez! He barely has any blue on him! He also seems pretty bare-bones compared to Furno and Rocka (like Evo). I'm questioning him. Thornraxx - Such a terrible, awkward name. Loving the reuse of Gorast's wings, And his black/gunmetal?, orange, and light blue (yeah new colour!) colour scheme. Like with Jawblade though; is he a sentient enemy or a mindless beast? Toxicreapa - An even worse name than Thornraxx, though the set makes me forgive it. This guy is a guaranteed buy in my eyes; those translucent lime green pieces are pure gold. Those green flames and lime green limbs help, too. All in all - A far better lineup then 2.0 or 3.0, and a far more diverse one in terms of colours, villain builds, and heroes (sort of- Rocka, Furno, and Breez are unique). Now I'm just hoping they don't call it 4.0. I am wondering why there isn't one more hero though; I would've hoped they'd put in either Nex to make it a team of the rookies, or just have some random new guy. But I don't mind. It means less money I have to spend, and that is awesome. Always. -ibrow

Because they are re-using some of the 2010 helmet pieces, as it seems, I wonder if they will attach to Glatorian heads or the newer Hero heads. I'd hope they use the hero heads, but I have a feeling they might not. The reason I want the hero heads is that I like the design much better, and the type of joint is MUCH better than that of Glatorian head pieces.

Hmmm... I'm trying to deduce some story facts from these guys' appearances. An example would be Splitface, who looks like a cross between Thunder and Xplode. Xplode and Thunder tried to break out of jail, but fell into some Energized Protodermis? Black Phantom looks pretty good, and Jawblade looks like a Bullet Bill...

I think you might actually be onto something here- something like that could explain why Black Phantom looks so similar to Fire Lord including his head. -ibrow

I thought it was a known fact that these are the old villains "Mutated" Maybe we don't have the same theory :C

I haven't heard that before, but it seems very likely.

I saw these earlier leaked on another site, and the only set I was going to buy was Breez because I'm a total die hard for her, and I planned on buying all the lime sets in the future. Then I got a close up of ToxicReapa, and I cried. I cried because I realized I'd have to buy at least 3, maybe 5 of him because of his awesomeness. And at only $8 he won't break the bank like Scorpio would. Rivin

There's no explicit confirmation as such that they're old villains, but I for one think it's likely. Anyhow, loving all of these new sets. Everything about this line is new and innovative, and it's great. Evo's helmet even looks like his old one, which is great. The villains all feel new and fresh, and the size mix-up is brilliant. It's gonna rock out loud, that's for sure.

I personally like these sets. The flying theme is very nice. The complaints I have are the white cores on EVERYBODY. It just really annoys me. Another thing is the difference between some of these guys. Breez has those 1.0 feet. Most likely because you guess it folks: SHES A FEMALE CHARACTER. Also: the use of the Iron Man heads is really bugging me. I like the old heads much better. I also am not too fond of the use of old helms. I mean they are upgraded, right? whatever happened to the amazing abilities of the 2.0 and the animal capability of the 3.0? I think it's just a bit odd. Rocka HAS to be my favorite. First of all the core matches (:P), and he is a total goldmine. His helmet is very nice. I have to say, the new launchers look very nice. It's a good thing they finally got rid of the redundance of Thorn- I mean "Metero Blasters" (Except for Splitface and Black Phantom that is). I just think it's already been overused. Now Black Phantom seems to have a very nice look to him (somewhat). His helmet fits nicely and the torso looks very good. The two tentacle (?) things coming off his back are a bit odd, but I can deal, I mean who can dislike some more transparent claddings? :P His weapon is nice, and the one on his other arm seems to be a nice part-wise. But really, adding a bunch of little accessories to a meteor blaster isn't making it anymore redundant. LEGO seems to be attempting to fix the legs. The lower legs seem to be filled in nicely, but LEGO seems to have a hard time with those thighs. So that's my opinion on them. I am looking forward to their release ^_^

Probably either same way the 2.0 and 3.0 cores connected or not at all; it's one piece. Rivin
I hope that it's not just one piece. Just the fact that it is all round makes it interesting how it might attach.

Probably a central peg at the middle of the H. That, or two pegs on the top/bottom of the circles.

Yeah, I was think that it might be a central peg, but that leaves nothing to keep you from spinning it in circles. I don't see anything else holding it in position, so I don't know what it could be.

The cores, as Dorek said, likely attach the same way as, say, the flame piece from the Fire Villains attached to armor, and the way the quaza spikes attached to the SP villains. It has a pin on the top and a pin on the bottom, and they both plug into the new chest armor piece. -Mesonak Edited by Mesonak

I've been getting every HF set so far, but it stops here! I'm really, REALLY tired of the same ol' heroes being used, and the utter lack of storyline twists thus far. Although, if you forget the storyline and look at the sets by themselves, not bad! Actually, really cool! And i must say, Splitface looks like a cross between a bootleg set and a Galidor set.Ok, upon looking at the pictures Mesonak included, i think i'll be getting QUITE A FEW of these!

This is probably the best line of HF sets so far. The color scheme and design of especially the villains has definitely improved, and it's nice to see at least a little bit of creative part usage on the heroes, such as the turbines + tubes on Furno. I'm still not buying any though. Also the top part of the launchers reminds me a bit of the midak shooters, it's probably the pattern of holes.

My thoughts: Black Phantom: Seems pretty cool, I like the blade on the end of his mace, but he looks a bit too much like Fire Lord to me. And what's with those things on his back? Breez: Very cool, I like the rockets on her legs. But why the 1.0 helmet? Also: new Hero core piece. ^_^ Evo: Whoa this guy's awesome. Lovin' those new shoulder pieces. I also like how they made his helmet look similar to his old one. Furno: At first I thought he had a jet pack, but now I realize he must be an underwater Hero! But another 1.0 helmet? Why? Jawblade: Very nice, he must be an underwater villian for Furno to fight. Rocka: Wow, I love his crossbow, it even has a chain of ammunition! Not so sure about his mask though... Splitface: Oh that is so awesome. I'm just wondering how his helmet works, is it one piece? Surge: Kind of meh, judging from the artwork, he must be a space Hero to fight Splitface. Thornraxx: This guy's pretty cool. Do I spy light blue bone pieces? :fonz: Toxicreapa: Very cool, I like his face. He looks kind of like an advanced Corroder. Trans-lime shell pieces... :drooling: Over all Evo 4.0 is definately my favorite. Can't wait until they come out!

Evo's back! :biggrin:I'm disappointed that Evo 4.0 has no purple. That was what made Evo 2.0 special. But he still looks badbutt.I like how this line combines the advantages of the 2.0/3.0 elements with the 1.0 elements' advantages.

There's a Superhero line (some pictures available in the same web shop as where these pics came from) that has a Joker set, with a myriad of purple pieces, so that's definitely something to look forward too.

Probably a central peg at the middle of the H. That, or two pegs on the top/bottom of the circles.

Yeah, I was think that it might be a central peg, but that leaves nothing to keep you from spinning it in circles. I don't see anything else holding it in position, so I don't know what it could be.
It could still be shaped like the current ones are, so that the H fits, and there's just a central peg. We'll find out sooner or later.

Thornraxx has TEAL and Black Phantom has METRU RED!! That is all.

It's not quite teal (much like the purple being used now isn't the purple of BIONICLE's past) but it's close, and it's new for the Technic line. I believe the color is called "dark azure". But yeah, BP is Metru red. Front (one of the parts designers) hinted that it might be Metru red (as opposed to its original Mata red), so I'm happy that this confirms it.

Personally I'm interested in the wide variety of environments shown in the background; exactly what kind of prison did these villains escape from that has easy access to the sea, a swamp, and an insect hive? I'm fond of Black Phantom, though I think the horns are a bit silly looking on him. Digging that spider-zamor-launcher thing. I think it's quite amusing how the fire-themed Hero is operating underwater. I'm quite interested in those handcuff pieces. Do they actually work, or do they just clip on to the hand-pegs? I notice all the Heroes have the same hexagon-beehive-shield. I like the idea, but the execution could have been better. Rocka's helmet looks a bit too brutish for me. Evo's, on the other hand, looks pretty nice. Overall, a fine new line of sets. I like how they tried to make each zamor launcher unique.

I think that's the point; they broke out, and are now residing in their habitat of choice. I'm also curious about the hexagon shield; only Rocka and Breez seem to have it, so what could it be for? They all have Cuff pieces, though, and those are just... glorious.

I find it interesting that Jawblade uses Mistika fins and claw feet and Thornraxx has Gorast wings. Aren't those pieces retired out a year ago?

They don't really retire pieces, they just stop using them. They still have the mold, so its simply to put it back into production. Also, general observation, but there appear to be multiple Thornraxx in Breez's picture, so I guess he'll be a swarm villain? Also Breez has a surprisingly well balanced color scheme, considering that it uses some horrible clashing colors =P.

I have a few criticisms of the Heroes: Furno looks sad (I mean, just look at his helmet), and Breez seems to be getting more masculine with every release. Surge doesn't look as colourful as he did in the leaked pics, though I still think that blue, green and grey isn't really a good combination. However, the Villains are another story. Thornraxx, in spite of his name, is a definite buy. Maybe Black Phantom as well, if only for that spider-launcher. Splitface's helmet reminds me of Hewkii Inika for some reason, too. -Heat

"Thornraxx" sounds like "Thornax" and looks like a Nui-Rama. Bionicle ripoff? But Black Phantom looks interesting, and coming from HF's biggest critic, that's saying something! However I'm only interested in those pieces. That helmet (assuming the fins on the side are separate pieces) would look great on a leader-class or special forces Skrall, and I can make great use of that spiked mace!

Black Phantom looks like a beast. I love how armoured he looks :D and it's mainly black. That's how Von Nebula should have looked.Breez looks interesting. I'm not sure I like the re-use of the helmet. I thought it was one of my least favourite helmets anyway. And she looks more manly than ever. Or possibly a little like the new Dragon from Dragons Den. Evo looks epic. Seriously. I love black and yellow together, and this is awesome. I like his helmet, and I definitely like his built up right arm.Furno just looks... Well A bit cluttered, almost like he is the packhorse, carrying everything. When I buy him, I'll probably remove some of the parts.Jaw blade, is it? I don't like much. Looks odd. Rocka definitely looks epic. I love the gold, but I think having Rocka and Evo sort of creates a yellowy theme for this year.Split face definitely looks like Thunder/Xplode. I'm wondering how the face piece is made, but I expect it's a single piece. To be fair, I love the way Surge looks. I loved his helmet, and he has an amazing weapon again :DThornraxx looks pretty cool, but I'm not sure if it makes me want to buy it. But I may do.Toxicreapa reminds me of corroder. I like the green, definitely, and I would probably buy it.Overall, I quite like these sets. Exciting stuff :D~Argentum~

All of the sudden, these Hero Factory sets seam extremely close to Bionicle sets. Which is not necessarily a bad thing; for me, the sets feel less childish than they did before, almost if they are a tad more serious. I was not a fan of what they did with Hero Factory up to now, but these sets look fantastic.Phantom, Evo and Rocka are definitely the gems for me here. Their designs actually look pretty detailed and cool.

Black Phantom looks A LOT better now. While he still suffers from the same issues as Fire Lord with his legs, he otherwise looks great. If only he had a bit more trans-lime-green... I feel Breez could actually use less lime green. She looks too solid, could have some of another color, I feel. And those shoulder pads, while cool, don't really work for her. Eh, these are things I can fix. Evo looks very compact, which I like. I like that helmet. Furno looks cool. Lack of melee is disappointing... though suppose meleeing a GIANT SHARK isn't a good idea. I can see what they are going for in Rocka's crossbow, and it is cool... but it seems too big. Also, Kopaka much? lol Surge could use a little more compaction. I'm not saying make him buff, but he looks a bit loosely put together. And perhaps their is a bit too much lime green. And it turns out I am leaving now, so I'll talk more later. Xp

Breez: First off, glad to see 1.0 helmets in reuse. Swords look cool, armour looks solid. Good round core. Interesting new Thornax launcher. Not sure how I feel about the System rockets on the feet or the 1.0 foot on the back. Evo: Intriguing new helmet, not font of asymmetry though. Also interesting that he also has a white core (in fact they all seem to). Hopefully that's just a sticker on his chest armour. Not sure how I feel about the bulky right arm yet. Furno: The turbines are interesting. Not fond of the arms, would definitely do something about them. Glad to see Thornax launcher in new colours. Translucent piece, while looking cool, seems kinda silly here, since it's the only part in that colour here. Also, Hewkii Inika chains on the handcuffs? Yes please! Rocka: Oh sweet lord, that helmet is beautiful, as is the crossbow-like launcher. Also, is that a trans-neon-green Thornax launcher? Because if so, that is some serious do want. Surge: Looking pretty thin there, junior. Glad to see a return of his 1.0 weapon in a new colour. That's all I have for this dude. Black Phantom: Not fond of the build. As pointed out, too Firelord-like. Black/green sword on the end of the staff is cool though, would definitely grab for that. Jawblade: Seems too Fangz-y. Lot of fin parts so I might pick it up for those. Hopefully those 1.0 Furno weapons are actually red and not orange, because that'd be cool. Splitface: Kinda boring tbh. Having a split theme is pretty cool though. Thornraxx: Silly name, too Bionicle-y. Nice to see a cool wasp character again, though. Gorast wings make this an instant buy, and I'm interested to see what colour those sockets are (since I'm convinced at this time that they're bringing back teal). Toxic Reapa: Man that's a dumb name. Love the black/trans-green, but idk. Something about this is kinda off-putting. So yeah. Definitely picking up Rocka and Thornraxx at least, and maybe getting Black Phantom for that sword.
