Hapori Tohu
The British Newspaper The Guardian has come up with a unique way of showing off the best of the 2012 Olympics: Recreate the scenes using LEGO elements. They've made brick animated scenes on sports like basketball, fencing, gymnastics, swimming and rowing, with possibly more to come. You can check out this series entitled "Brick-by-brick" here to enjoy the Olympic Games in LEGO.View the full article Quote News Forums Q&A
Mare Tranquillitatis
Nice initiative. I hope they'll post more and more soon! It looks like LEGO is getting much advertising from the Olympic games.
Meiko
Very nice. I hope they make more soon. I wish they said how many pieces were used for each video though... Toa Smoke Monster
If only fencers could wear storm trooper helmits in real life. :PAnyway, these are really cool videos. I particularly enjoyed the one with the swimming minifigs. That one was really cool to watch! Swert
I actually saw Usain Bolt's run in LEGO before I saw it in live video. It's still impressive either way.I'm digging the LEGO replays.
WeatherDragon
They are all quite impressive, indeed. The pieces are used well, though the Kendo helmet would have worked well for the fencing, I think. Ta-metru_defender
They're cool and all it's just... the animation's kinda lousy compared to some amateur work out there.Ah well. Still cool. Aanchir
My twin brother actually saw the basketball video on his Nintendo 3DS's Nintendo Video app. Some of the animation is a little sloppy, but overall it's quite impressive considering how quickly these videos must have been created. Lyichir
The main thing that interests me about these is the fact that they are available in 3D on my 3DS's Nintendo Video app. These animations are far from the best as far as brickfilms go, but if these are a harbinger of more Lego-related content on that app, I'm all for it.
