Hapori Tohu
Who knew that a small woodworking and carpentry shop founded in the early 1900s in Billund, Denmark would one day become one of the greatest toy manufacturers in existence? It happened, as I'm sure we can all appreciate, and now that same company has hit its 80th anniversary. To celebrate the event, LEGO has posted an article in commemoration of the company's founding and history, along with a fifteen-minute animated short entitled "The Lego Story," narrated by Kjeld Kirk Christiansen (former president and CEO of LEGO and the grandson of LEGO Founder Ole Kirk Christiansen). In all, it's a fascinating look at the origins of the LEGO Company, its founders, and the classic LEGO brick itself. Gatanui
Cute movie, although I wish it had gone further into LEGO's history. Well, maybe in ten or twenty years. :PHappy birthday, too! LEGO has been a significant part of my life for as long as I can remember, and I hope it will continue successful and releasing high-quality sets and promotions for many years! -Gata Edited August 14, 2012 by Gatanui Quote - Gata Please don't use my avatar or signature without permission, thanks! Toa of Ice - 1987
Amazingly well done movie, and it shows that the animators put a lot of hard effort into it.
Mare Tranquillitatis
Nice walk into memories. I loved it. It may sound like the classical stereotype of the "great person that rises from the mud and the dust", but it's always nice to see how those stories end.Well, what should I say then? Happy birthday, and many heartfelt wishes that LEGO will go on this way. Also, many heartfelt thanks for having grown us such a good way. I'm debtor with you, Ole. PDPsi HAN
Please change the article to reflect the fact that Kjeld DID NOT narrate the short film. It was Marc Graue(Grave?), as seen in the credits. Quote AΨ
TheSkeletonMan939
I'm surprised Lego slipped in a potty mouth word. It was a pretty nice video, though the first person thing was sort of confusing.
Makuta DUSt
They got a few things wrong. For example, there was a name contest for the name, and the winner one a homemade bottle of gin. However, these are just nitpicks.Happy (late) Birthday, and hears to 80 years more!

Cederak
Happy belated 80th Lego. A lot of people owe you a childhood of creativity...and the occasional hurt foot when stepping on your plastic bricks.
