Star Wars: Odysseys

IC: Kruvuurn Tchuul [Coruscant; Day One]Sure, there was loads to do in the city, and unimaginable number of thing to do. Out of all those things, Kruvuurn found himself doing what he did best, fixing things. Well, not exactly, but he found himself looking for parts for starships. Most beings would be amazed at the amount of "junk" that wasn't actually junk. Sometimes, all the Sauvax had to do was replace a wire, and a blaster assembly worked better then before.Hm, if beings just took the time to look, perhaps they wouldn't complain so much about faulty equipment, Kruvuurn thought as he lumbered along down the skyways and bridges of the world city. But then again, that's why they bring it to me. Still, there seemed to be a great lack of attention span for most beings these days. If it doesn't work, throw it out and get a new one. Perhaps all these glowing holoads had something to do about it. Kruvuurn passed many as his six legs carried him along, the multi colored lights reflecting off his ridged shell. After a while of just walking, not really doing much besides looking for some spare parts, Kruvuurn decided to head up a few levels. Taking an empty turbolift a few hundred floors up, Kruvuurn walked out and onto the landing platforms. He came here often, just to talk to the pilots, about their ships, let them know about his business, offer to make a few upgrades. What he found there was quite unexpected. It was a freighter, but quite unlike anyother he'd seen. Although, Kruvuurn knew exactly what it was, as he crossed his arms and stred at the ship. It was an ancient XS Stock Light Freighter, one of the precursors of the YTs, and it had to be atleast 3,000 years old by now. Of course, it obviously was upgraded, and Kruvuurn doubted that any system was original on the ship. Still, to actually have one, that was impressive.Off to the side, Kruvuurn spotted a group of beings, one of them probably the owner of the ship, but he couldn't tell which. They seemed to be occupied at the moment, so Kruvuurn took the time to just study the ship from a distance. Perhaps, the pilot would let him take a look onboard. The thought made the hulking being smile, oh what neat upgrades could be in there.OOC: Kruvuurn next to Kol, Vong, and Rorl. FYI.

IC: Kon, Coruscant (Day One)Kon's eyes moved from ship to ship, searching. Some of them he'd hired before. Some of them were rather unprofessional, others were borderline immoral. Some of them were too expensive for the limited budget his employers granted him on the job, and others were untrustworthy.Normally, he would have been sent out in a ship owned by his company, a brief two week round trip, max. Go out, meet with the client or potential client, do his job, and come back. This assignment was a bit different. He didn't have a specific client, nor was he necessarily trying to make a deal. No, he had been dispatched to investigate some of the planets further from the Core, see if there were any that might be looking for the products his company dealt in. The implements of war. Droid designs, weapons. Custom built or mass produced, his employers didn't care. Not many companies were yet making their way outward, and they wanted to be among the first to see about taking advantage of this relatively untapped market. This was a much longer term assignment than normal. Rather fortunate in its timing, as well. Kon had recently completed several designs and built prototypes. Now, said prototypes would have to go through a myriad of ethics committees, patenting processes, and other trivialities. Until they were either approved or denied, he wouldn't be able to design more, to avoid a pileup in the legal pipeline. So he was going to be bored otherwise anyway.There. Kon said, pausing and smiling to himself. An old XS Light Stock freighter. Most people would overlook it, due to its apparent antiquity, or pause only to marvel at the relic. But he knew better. Any XS that was still in service at this point was both reliable, and had a decent captain at its helm. There was a group of beings clustered near it, one of whom, Kon assumed, was the captain. Another, quite large actually, stood a short distance away. Probably waiting for the group to go away. Kon didn't have time for that.Marching briskly toward the group, suit case in hand, he paused a short distance away from Kol. "Excuse me. Would one of you happen to be the captain of this vessel?"

IC: Kol (Shipyard, Coruscant -- Day One)Kol was used to this reaction: the Charm got stares wherever she went, due to her class and age. That said, he was feeling particularly hit hard by the sudden rush of people either inquiring about jobs or the frieghter, so he held up his hands placatingly and looked around at the sudden group."That'd be me," he said. "Kol Orren. Captain of the Southern Charm."-Teezy

OOC: I'm sorry about the weapon- I'll begin looking for an equivalent replacement soon.Basilisk, where's a good place to put Kyto and Cath?IC: (Yavar Merrin, Nar' Shadaa, Day 1)Yavar Merrin was not happy. The fact that he rarely experienced an emotion which could be considered happiness was irrelevant to this.First off, he was out of fire wine again. A shame, it could possibly have improved his mood. Secondly, his deal with the newest potential spice running captain had fallen through. A mental note to never again trust a Devaronian had been made.Lastly, he, Jæn, and Delor were currently being stared down by a very large, very angry T'Surr.Had he vocal cords, Yavar's choice of words wouldn't have been quite family-friendly.The hulking alien charged at him, leaving him little time to leap out of the way. His two bodyguards had already slung around their blasters, firing at the being, but he must've been wearing some very top-notch armor, for he showed no signs of injury."Tarjha sends his regards," growled the hitman, referencing one of the local Hutt lords. Ah, that explained this. Perhaps it hadn't been the most prudent idea to open a new location right across from one of his. Or this could have been over that shoot out with his chief servant, or perhaps that spice deal...Actually, come to think of it, it was rather surprising this hadn't happened before. The T'Surr brandished two vibroblades in his lower arms, but pulled out a blaster of his own, baring his teeth. He started to take aim, but Yavar had other ideas. He tossed a small metal sphere, which the T'Surr had no choice but to leap away from a split second before it went off, destroying a section of the short wall that separated this walkway from the vast chasm between the buildings of this city. Yavar's two employees opened fire again, targeting unarmored areas like the T'Surr's hands and head. The massive alien covered his head as burns appeared on his tough blue skin.Yavar stepped towards the hitman as the blaster bolts continued to fly."Tell him Yavar sends them back," vocalized the Anomid, before raising his left hand. The repulsor mounted on his wrist fired, sending the hitman hurtling into the vast space, roaring as he fell.Yavar watched the being fall for a second, then turned back to the two Covallan bodyguards."Well," he signed, "I suppose we'll need to be better prepared for those kinds of suprises. It's a rather good thing Tarjha is on bad terms with his family. Anyway, let's get home."The two nodded their heads, shouldering their weapons and dropping to all fours. That could have been bad, thought Yavar. He didn't believe Tarjha really meant to kill them- he would have sent someone much more prepared. This was simply a message- get off of Nar' Shadaa. It looked like things would have to proceed a little quicker than Yavar had planned.

Well, would you just look at that?

IC: Kol (Shipyards, Coruscant -- Day One)"Well, that's a good question, Kon Tryus."Kol took the man's hand and shook it easily, giving him a cursory flick of the eyes up and down before meeting Tryus' gaze again. Kol's posture was ramrod, despite never having joined in the military, and his handshake was firm; this was obviously a man with people skills. He grinned, and the look made its way up to his dark brown eyes as he released and took a glance back at the Charm before turning back to the group."I guess it depends on a number of factors, namely how many of them you'll put in my wallet."-Teezy

IC: Kol (Shipyards, Coruscant -- Day One)"Two to Tatooine..."Kol chewed on his bottom lip pensively, calculating the trip in his head, his eyes no longer entirely focused on the conversation. Finally, he ran his hand through his hair and then looked at the group."With a Class 1 hyperdrive, Tatooine's about four days away. I assume I'm just carrying you two? No cargo?"-Teezy

IC: (Kyto Ceya and Cath Reh'terr, Coruscant, Day 1)"Y'know Cath, we really should get a ship," said Kyto as he maneuvered the speeder towards one of Coruscant's more upscale districts. The Ebranite shrugged."It'd be nice. We've never really needed one though.""True. Alright, lets see... Hang a right here, left in 300 meters..."A few minutes later they had reached a fairly high floor of a residential complex. Kyto whistled."Nice place. Well, let's head in."They parked the speeder on the dock of Dod's home, then got out. Neither was in full armor, but they looked menacing nonetheless. Kyto had made sure they didn't bring any obvious weapons- no need to look threatening, but each carried a few hidden tricks in case something went wrong.Inside the apartment, Lott's insecticide droid would alert him to the presence of two more guests.

Well, would you just look at that?

IC: Kurvuurn Tchuul [Coruscant; Day One]The Sauvax glanced over to the group as one of the humans spoke up. Kol Orren, was his name, and it seemed he was the captain. Everyone else seemed to want transport to Tatooine. Why anyone would want to go to that ball of sand was beyond Kruvuurn, but it didn't effect him at all. Still, it seemed that they would be leaving rather quickly, so he wasn't sure if he'd get the time to ask the captain about the ancient ship.Turning towards the group, his legs clicking against the duracrete, Kruvuurn continued to wait. He was in no hurry, but it seemed that everyone else was.

IC (Lott Dod, NPC, Day One)J-353 came to life again, it's buzzing tone cutting across the room. "Two more soldier drones approach oh most beneficent hive king. The hive prospers once more. Much royal jelly will have to be made to house new queens. Glory to the hive." Dod, used to the droids odd way of phrasing things, merely nodded. The droids would show the new arrivals in soon enough. Hopefully this team of bounty hunters could get the job done...if the Huk had hired a rogue specforce unit or collected hunters of their own, things would get more difficult. Much more difficult. The door to the landing pad slide open once more. The two security droids did not even flinch, merely kept their electronic gaze on the pad. A small squad of battle droids filed out onto the landing pad, quickly taking up intervals and taking up positions near cover in case anything went wrong. Battle droids always assumed it would of course, that was what they were programmed for. The lead droid approached the two new hunters and in a monotone voice that invited no room for debate, spoke. "You will follow this unit. The representative is currently in a meeting. You will wait in the foyer with the others."

OOC: A quick clarification on the paragraph travel system we use. If there are multiple PC's on one ship, then each paragraph the PC's post can count for one day (for details on the system in general, see the main post). So if two PC's want to go from the Core to the Rim, that takes two weeks IC. But if they each post a four paragraph post (not long ones mind, just a couple of sentences will count-I'm not asking you to write a book) twice, then it'll count for sixteen days. Two weeks is around fourteen. So it should go by relatively quickly.

IC (Corellia, Coronet Spaceport, Day 1)Zakta saw Csarissa step into the hangar. The time to strike was now.. He reached beneath his cloak and quickly activated his vibrosword, slipping through the hangar door unnoticed. Once inside, he found the door control console and smashed it with his elbow.. With a shudder, the door slammed shut, locking him in with the Selonian.

If you can't explain it, then it was probably an alien.

IC (Battle Droids, NPC's, Day One)The battle droids led the two bounty hunters through the halls of the apartment. The numerous paintings, tapestries and busts of famous figures had no shifted position. A being with a careful eye would note various small camera droids hovering silently near the top of some halls. The droids were easy to miss, though the patrols of battle droids that roamed the halls were not. Lott Dod was a being very concerned with security, that much was evident. Soon however, the droid procession had guided the two hunters to the foyer. The lead droid turned to them and in that same level voice, spoke once more. "You will wait here until the representative is ready to see you. There are others here. You may mingle."

IC(Corellia, Coronet Spaceport, Day 1):Csarissa broke into a sprint at the sound of the door crashing to the floor. She fluidly drew her blaster and vibroblade from her belt as she ran, holding the latter in a reverse grip. She wheeled around as she neared her ship, firing off a coupe of shots at her adversary. She noticed that her opponent had a much longer blade than she did; she would need to be careful. The Selonian slowly sidestepped to her left, raising her weapons defensively before her, waiting for the assassin to make his move.

IC(Corellia, Coronet Spaceport, Day 1)Zakta hears the shots before he sees them. He rolls to the right, barely escaping the shots as they impact into the door where he stood moments ago. "She's fast." he thought, quickly pulling out a small capsule. He pushed a button on the top, rolling it out into the hangar. After a small delay, it detonated, spraying a thick smokescreen out throughout the hangar. He smiled, sprinting out into the cloud. "Let's see who's faster."

OOC: If I'm not here, just bunny my character out so that things will progress, if you want. xPIC-Jaron:"Good, good," Jaron said, his bright smile returning, reassuring Lott that yes, he was telling the truth, and yes, he would be willing to pay handsomely in his gratitude."If that is all, I truly must be going," he said then, grasping his effects, and quickly moving out. He nodded to all those outside the room, before he quickly passed them as well, one droid following him, it seemed, an escort out. In a minute, he was back in his speeder, riding around, spending leisure time, when suddenly...He stopped the speeder, before setting it down, and looking at the ship before him, an XS Stock freighter. He hadn't been on one of these things in years-he'd managed to salvage one from Lehon, after the massacre there. Turns out somebody'd managed to land there and never be able to leave. Or, more likely, it came from the other Sith who'd been there. Needless to say, it was now on Tulpaa, along with a few other things he'd had towed over there."Nice ship," he said to the one who was obviously the owner of the freighter, Kol. "Very nice. As well..." he turned a moment, looking at the large being who he'd stopped next to."Kruvuurn. Haven't seen you in a while. Still hunting ship captains the galaxy by to sell your upgrades?" he asked with his characteristic grin.

IC: Obaryun (Naboo, Day 1)To Obaryun, there was a certain satisfaction in relaxing on some of Naboo's beautiful beaches that many other things could not provide. It was a enjoyable feeling, with the warm sunlight washing over his body and the sand beneath his back providing an amusing sensation. There was also the atmosphere; it could not compare to the partying back home, but its rhythm and quietness had its own charm."Seems like time for another trip," said the Zeltron as he pulled himself off the ground. "I wonder where I should go next?"

IC-Jaron:Jaron's head turned, feeling the same prickle at his neck he always did when somebody was watching him and not quite feeling happy with him. He looked Rorl up and down, before smiling."How goes the hunting?" he asked, having easily made the connection from the man's appearance and attitude that he had seen, as well as the feeling he got in the force from the man, that he was likely a Bounty Hunter or Mercenary.

IC:: (Rorl, day one) "Good. Easy targets lately. Though this next mission may not be as simple." Still this feeling... Rorl half dismissed it. His master had done the best training he could with Rorl's limited force sensitivity. This meant it misfired sometimes when he was doing anything other than feeling for incoming attacks.

IC-Jaron:"Very nice," Jaron said. "Now, who is your current client?" he asked quietly, barely pushing in with the Force, barely giving a compulsion to answer. Subtlety was key. Especially with the new sensation he got that this man was Force Sensitive...however, his sensitivity, as well as his true appearance, were still carefully hidden.

IC (Battle Droid, NPC, Day One)The squad of battle droids had taken positions about the room, with their leader remaining close to the bounty hunters. It was this droid that spoke, in a flat and mechanical tone. "The representative is currently free. You may commence any business you may have with him." It was clearly being conducted on a first come first served basis. This wasn't supposed to be a work day for Dod, so his schedule was quite flexible.

IC:: (Rorl, day one)Rorl felt a compulsion to tell this guy. Why? How was it his business? Rorl's eyes looked conflicted, but in the end Rorl's extraordinary will and loyalty to his client let him resist with ease. "I apologize. My client wishes his identity to remain secret."IC:: (Roma, day one)"I've already talked with him."

OOC: Nowhere in the wiki does it say they have to have a gesture for any form of force persuasion, you realize. They could simply channel it through their voice, which would be what Jaron normally does, or it would be similar to, say, Revan's ability to rip knowledge right from another being's mind. Just have to concentrate a bit.EDIT: In fact, Jaron's customary illusion falls under the category of a mind trick, according to Wookiepedia. And that, like many other such powers, requires no physical gesturing. The gestures are just to help to distract the target, mainly, and to help the force-sensitive using the power to concentrate.
