In the interest of combining these two passions, Brunk has successfully constructed a functional, large-scale LEGO replica of the classic Nintendo Entertainment System controller. It certainly isn't the first giant NES controller that's been constructed, but it is the first to be made entirely out of LEGO bricks. The project took several months and several thousand bricks to complete and is compatible with NES games played on ROM. All it requires is to wire it as a keyboard and that has a driver that would work with the computer. And since it is done with an emulator, technically he could run different platforms besides NES. Which is really just four directional controls and four other buttons. It makes me wonder if one could build a more complex controller, perhaps one with at least one analog stick. But it certainly would be a lot harder than the rectangular NES controller.
