Tomaku
It looks simple but yet cool though I would appreciate if you use a little more BIONICLE pieces. Quote http://www.bzpower.com/board/index.php?showtopic=8708
Guest Takua the Chronicler7
I like what you did with the arms, and the head, though I agree with what Tomaku said, with the using more Bionicle pieces. Otherwise, I like it.
Aanchir
Lovely design here. It's quite cohesive, with the arms nicely spaced (great integration of BIONICLE and Hero Factory torso pieces there), the length of the arms comparable, a consistent color schemes, and well-distributed details (I've seen some BIONICLE/HF MOCs that use too many BIONICLE pieces in one part of the build and too many Hero Factory parts elsewhere, resulting in a model that looks boringly plain in some sections and cluttered with useless detail in others). My one major criticism is that despite the bipedal posture, this model doesn't look entirely anthropomorphized. But at the same time, I can't think of any way to make it look more human-like while keeping the creepy look the spindly points on the arms and oversized head currently lend it. It very effectively straddles that gap between familiar and alien, and attempting to balance the humanoid and arachnoid characteristics could minimize that unnerving quality that gives it so much emotional resonance.I'm also a bit iffy about how two sets of arms use a consistent visual style while the legs and center row of arms have visual styles not echoed strongly elsewhere in the model. But again, I can't think of how well this could have been fixed-- matching all three sets of arms but not matching the legs would make them stand out too much (and might not be possible with the parts in your collection), while matching the legs to either of the sets of arms would remove the "second knee" that makes them feel so wonderfully bizarre. All in all, not a bad MOC. Good luck in the contest, and hope you can continue producing MOCs with this sort of simple, cohesive design! The Swimming Beard
@ Tomaku and Takua: As for it "not using enough Bionicle pieces", not everyone has an abundance of Bionicle pieces at their disposal, and furthermore, sometimes HF parts are better suited. @ Aanchir: Given the oppurtnity, I probably would have matched all three sets of arms, but, as you mentioned, I did not have enough Rahkshi leg pieces to do so. Anyway, thanks for the responses. Quote "I pitea the fool!"
