You just lost the game
I just checked my options to see if you have an option to NOT view images and there is no such thing. What I believe is that either, you have a slow browser and the images aren't loading, or Add-ons are effecting Firefox's performance [presuming you have firefox]. You just lost the game
Well, my answer is either you have images turned off, or just slow loading.
Astrotorical
Slow loading, this may be the case. BUT, this must mean that my computer is SOOO slow in loading (its a $500 AUD Netbook) that it will give up on specific images. This also means that my Mobile Phone has a better capacity for viewing images then this computer (as the images work on my phone). That being said my phone cant decide whether to put things on the 15 megabyte internal memory, or the 4 gig memory card. Riglax
Try clearing your history, for starters. Since this seams to be a particular problem with your notebook or browser, try logging into your account with another computer, aside from your phone. By the way, images don't come out as big "x"s when they won't load. So it's absolutely not slowness. Tahkuta
Maybe running a defragmentation on your local disk could fix the problem, if its a computer-related problem. Velox
I would also try simply using another browser if possible. I've had problems with IE before. Quote "As a writer you ask yourself to dream while awake." ~ Aimee Bender
P~M
Sometimes, if a browser detects that an image is too big for the memory, it will kill the image and a will appear.Which means it's probably your computer.--
Katuko
I rarely have trouble with my net connection, in such a way that pages will stop loading midway through, lreaving me with missing or corrupted images, formatting, and other things. Refreshing the page doesn't work because the browser considers them "done". Ctrl+F5, however (force reload of cache) tends to work.If it doesn't, then something else must be causing the problem, such as a plugin or perhaps an overprotective ad-blocking program? There is an expression that says "friends don't let friends use Internet Explorer" () but I doubt it's the browser itself so much as either the upgraded forum software still being a bit wonky or some of your settings.
