Oh dear, the things that happen while I sleep...

Terribly sorry for the confusion, folks. Things should be fixed now, but I'll be making sure in just a moment, and you can feel free to post your profiles for approval. I should have my inbox clear in just a few minutes, so feel free to PM me if you have any questions.

Hope to see you guys around.

EDIT: By the way, the second post in the main topic is the accurate one. I'll have to talk to Onarax about deleting the first one.

Name: Audrey ArchibaldGender: FemaleAge: 23-ish or something.

Faction: European AllianceAppearance: Audrey isn't tall, standing slightly below average in terms of height. Her dark chestnut hair is worn short, while freckles spot her olive complexion. However, her most distinguishing feature is her eyes. Her left is a deep blue color, while her right is a chocolate brown. Her admittedly good looks do nothing but annoy her. Almost always wears something covered in pockets and grease, along with a pair of thick leather gloves and goggles.Biography: Her parents having died when she was young, Audrey lived most of her early life with her aunt and uncle. It wasn't easy for them, though they managed. Although, as soon as she could, Audrey joined the European Alliance military, if only to get away from the place where she grew up. At first, she trained to be a pilot, what better way to get away then to go up? It didn't last that long, owing to her rather (unsuspected) fear of heights. So, she put her skills elsewhere, and became an engineer working on things from mechs to inside a tank. And she was good at it, though she has yet to work on one of the massive zeppelin airships.Personality: Loud, somewhat overbearing, with a distinct do-it-yourself attitude. Audrey has a slight Napoleon complex at times, though not usually. Unfortunately, she's not as good with people as she is with machines.Mech: N/AOccupation: EngineerEquipment: Is never seen without a relatively weighty wrench, going by her philosophy that anything can be fixed, should you hit it hard enough. Also has a multitude of various other tools, such as hammers, clamps, flamethrowers, etc. Stuff for fixing things, you know?Skills: Fixing things. Big things, small things, metal things, electric things, old things, new things, clockwork things, unfixable things, red things, blue things- chances are, if someone made it, then she can fix it. Given enough time and curse words, that is. Although, she's not that good at fixing alive things.Weaknesses: She's strong for her size and a crack-shot with a firearm, but she's no soldier. As such, if one avoids getting hit with an oversized wrench, then they might be able stop her.

Richard "Lionheart" VI

Name: Richard "Lionheart" VIGender: MaleAge: 45Faction: British EmpireAppearance: Richard is a tall man, with strong musculature and a rather chiseled physique, rather unlike his predecessors in this specific dynasty. His hair has a slight reddish tint, reflecting a portion of his mixed heritage; however, he still has a distinctly Anglo-Saxon appearance. He has both a mustache and a beard, kept closely trimmed, with shoulder length hair; he generally wears a blazer and slacks in every day life.Biography: Richard is the King of Brittania, heir to an empire that has been many years in the making; at the age of forty-five he has seen quite a few developments in Mecha, even helping to design some of those used in his Empire himself; and prior to his father's death, he was a common sight on the battlefields. He was, also, a major proponent of getting the armistice between Brittania and the European Alliance, being one of the few rulers there to have had a great deal of first-hand experience. Now, he generally just manages Brittania, trying to maintain the holdings he can and promoting peace throughout.Personality: Richard can be a rather gruff man, at times, though this is only when he is not involved in any diplomatic pursuits, or in the sight of courtiers; at those times, his rhetoric is that of what is expected of a King, though usually with his own sarcastic twist added. After that he is generally a rather friendly man, though if you do something to harm anybody that he feels was beyond the line of what is acceptable, expect his lion's fury to show through.Mech: Yes.Occupation: KingEquipment: Though many see it as a relic of times gone by, Richard likes to keep a sword near him, if not sheathed and held on his person via baldric; after that, nothing much more than a simple touchpad device for communication.Skills: Diplomacy, Rhetoric, Fighting (though he rather detests having to fight), Mech-piloting in general, listening to disgruntled commoners doing nothing more than begging him for money.Weaknesses: Richard, due to his 'style' of reign, is a rather public figure, leaving him rather open to attack at all times. As well, his personality and style of rhetoric could easily lead to the alienation of a helpful political ally. Model: Custom, most similar to "Warrior" Base Type.Appearance: Richard's mech was built with a bestial, lion-esque physique, in order to reflect his title of "Lionheart," with clawed hands, and a fur-like coating, that is actually a type of reactive armour.Armaments: Richard's mech has two main armaments: the first is a rather large machine gun, with two alternating barrles, fed by a hundred-fifty round magazine. The second is a large sword, seemingly made of a ten foot long, three foot thick steel girder having been heated and hammered into the shape of a straight-bladed backsword, very useful for crunching through enemy armour. After that, the mech's clawed hands also serve as weapons in a time of need.Capabilities: The Lionheart mech has increased strength and speed compared to other mechs, as well as a special type of reactive armour, shaped to look like Lion's fur. Sensors are standard.Weaknesses: The mech is much more stable, actually, moving in a quadripedal fashion, rather than in bipedal; a smart combatant could find a way to trip it up, assuming they overcome the strength and speed that come with the mech.

Name: Unknown

Label: Virus

Gender: Unknown, presumed male.

Age: Unknown

Faction: Neutral/Himself

Appearance: N/A, presumed to be a tall caucasian man.

Biography: N/A. Presumed to have been an experimental mech operator prior to his accident.

Personality: Varies between angry, mischevious, happy, sad, but one thing prevails: Insane and bloodthirsty.

Mech: Most definitely.

Occupation: Murderer, former scientist/mech operator.

Equipment: His mech.

Skills: Killing/Destroying things, being an all-around genius, though insane.

Weaknesses: N/A

Model: Custom, experimental.

Appearance: Seems to be nothing more than a mass of metallic and carbon microfilaments, constantly changing and rearranging themselves, able to be held in a single form if needed. Due to the size of the microfilaments, looks like a liquid.

Armaments: Whatever is created by the filaments in terms of melee weaponry, electrical arc-casters, itself.

Capabilities: Shifting to match whatever is needed of it, including the ability to get through extremely small spaces, even for a man, though the smaller the space, the longer this takes. Also, true to the name of "Virus," able to cause a mech to ignore the commands given by the pilot and fight for the Virus.

Weaknesses: N/A

My Things

Sayf al-Dawla

Name: SayfGender: MaleFaction: NeutralAppearance: Sayf has the features of a man from the Caucasus, with a tall, lithe physique, with his smooth, dark coloured hair reaching down to his shoulders, as well as a closely cropped mustache and beard, and lightly tanned skin.Biography: Sayf was a rather notorious fighter in the war, though little is known of him previous to that; afterwards, he was removed from the public eye, though he has made a few appearances here and there, generally just to help keep the peace. It is possible, however, that he is fighting against Tsarist Russia over in Chechnya.Personality: Sayf is a rather happy fellow, though he sets a great bit of store in keeping the tenuous peace between the nations strong.Mech: YesOccupation: Soldier/Mech PilotEquipment: One SKS, modified to fit as a semi-automatic sniper rifle with a twenty round detachable box magazine, scope, match grade barrel, and new synthetic furniture; one AKS-74U; one bayonet, detachable from the SKS; one la loupe garrote.Skills: Sayf is a great Mecha Pilot, and a crack shot with both of his rifles.Weaknesses: Sayf is not an up-front fighter; he is a sniper, holding back from the general battle. Yes, he can defend himself up close, that is why he has the AKS-74U, though he is more of a target than most in such a situation. Model: Seems like a mix between the Warrior and Behemoth types.Appearance: Rather like what is implied in its Model Description, though really basically an extra-armoured Assault type Mech.Armament: One very large sniper rifle, essentially an artillery gun with a scope, extremely accurate, as well as an Exospheric Altitude Gun, which can be deployed to snipe down anything in the highest reaches of Earth's atmostphere, with accuracy decreasing the father out you go, with only a 75% accuracy in the Exosphere.Capabilities: The mech has increased speed and sensor strength, fitting with its usage as a sniper-like mech, though it also has rather large shields on either shoulder, which can be manipulated to block some incoming attacks, or if needed, the mech can force them both forwards, and hunker down behind them.Weaknesses: Low strength compared to other warrior type mechs - get it into a grappling situation, and the winner will be found easily.

Ilja Brokvejus

Name: Ilja BrokvejusAge: 19Gender: MaleFaction: European AllianceAppearance: Slightly taller than average, at an even 6 feet tall, with messy, dirty-blonde coloured hair; blue eyes; lithe physique, with most musculature lying more in the realm of fine motor control than overall power.Biography: Ilja was born in the middle of the 'Great War,' with both his father and grandfather being fighters within it; soon enough, he had decided himself that he would continue the family tradition. His grandfather was later killed in the war, and his father was seriously injured, rendered paraplegic; and soon after joining, Ilja was ushered into his grandfather's old mech, due to their being a shortage of mech pilots at the time, and the EA thinking it would be easier to train somebody at the start to be a mech pilot, rather than pulling in previously-serving soldiers.Personality: Generally affable, though easily annoyed, and with a tendency towards vulgar speech; a staunch supporter of the Chechnian resistance.Mech: YesOccupation: Mech Operator, Musician, Political ActivistEquipment: Laptop, Classical Guitar, an AKS-74U Assault Carbine with four extra magazines, for a total of 150 rounds of ammunition, that he always takes with him into the field.Skills: Playing Guitar, Piloting Mechs, writing petitions for the EA to recognize the Chechen resistance, writing in general.Weaknesses: He's young, he's inexperienced, and he's rather quick to criticize the Tsars for their treatment of the Chechen peoples - leading to them not liking him very much. Model: Behemoth-Type MechAppearance: Standing about fifteen feet high, Ilja's mech is a veritable tank on legs. Four legs, in fact, with a rotating upper body, with every last part of the mech covered in at least eight inches of steel armour - this mech is old, and it was made to take punishment and then return it tenfold. The right and left arms, where hands would be, have fully-powered weapon systems, the legs, when in leg form, appear to have hinged, movable armour protecting something upon them.Armaments: Ilja's mech has two main weapons. The first is a dual barreled (over-under configuration) alternating fire machine gun, chambered for the .50 cal BMG cartridge. Each barrel is equivalent to an M2HB barrel, firing at 575 rpm. However, the alternating fire system leads to the firing of the bottom machine gun being offset from the first in such a way as to effectively double a single machine gun's firing rate, leading to the weapon system having an overall firing rate of 1,150 rounds per minute. The second weapon is a rifled 120mm cannon, with a 15 foot long rifled barrel, with a maximum accurate range of three thousand, two hundred fifty yards, maximum lethal range of ~4,900 yards. It is fed by an internal ammo-loading system, allowing it to be fired once every 1.25 seconds, though fifteen shots within thirty seconds will require an additional cooldown time of at least 30 seconds prior to the next shot being fired.Capabilities: The mech's main enhanced capability is its leg-transforming feature. For any ground that is open enough, the mech can transform its four legs into four seperate tank tread assemblies, with the tread moving inside what was left of the leg and then back out again, protecting the inner workings of each tread; meanwhile, when in leg form, the treads are protected by hinged, drop down armour, that raises itself up upon transition to tread mode to add enhanced protection to the rotating trunk of the mech, aside from what metallic shields already hang there.Weaknesses: If one can land a couple well-placed shots, they can break away the armour protecting the mech's treads when it is in walking mode, or they can use powerful mines to blow them apart; the same can be said about the armour protecting the rotating trunk of the mech's torso, though this is even more protected; after that, it is slow in both walking mode and in tread mode, though in the latter it can attain a maximum speed of 80mph, this is still slow compared to most other mechs; they could easily outrun it in many situations.

Name: Hubert Montague SmytheGender: Male Faction: British EmpireAppearance: Looks...kind of bland really. If you saw him you'd assume he was some sort of desk clerk, with his tidy black hair, skinny physique and penchant for suits. Everything about him screams of neatness and pacifism. He appears utterly non-threatening

Mech: NoOccupation: Secret Service Special Operative (MI3)Weapons/Equipment: Generally has a trusty revolver, because you can't go wrong with a simple gun. Customises other equipment depending on the missionSkills: Highly athletic, very good at hurting or killing others with various tools and implementsWeakness: Given the highly technological stance of everyone else his slightly old-fashioned methods of guns and fisticuffs does make him a little vulnerablePersonality: He's not quite the cold calculating killing machine his superiors would like him to be. He believes it would be insulting to the people he kills if he didn't take some measure of fun in doing it, so tends to joke and quip about when doing his job. If he says he regrets killing someone he will often genuinely mean it. It won't stop him, but still...Bio: This Hubert Montague Smythe is in fact the twenty-fifth to bear that name. Not because he comes from a long line of Smythes but because the identity was...appropriated by the government during the time of Cromwell for the purposes of "activitees moste secret" after the original Hubert Smythe disappeared, presumed killed, during the Civil War. Every time one Smythe dies another is taken from the ranks of government agents and is given the name and lands associated. A sort of promotion for your entire life.

The current Smythe was originally an orphan, taken on by the Military Intelligence department for Press and Propaganda (MI7) as someone who could run the streets, keep an eye on public opinion and discreetly put up government friendly advertisements. As he aged he became more and more proficient in the various...arts the secret service liked to culture he slowly worked up the ranks until becoming one of their most valued active agents in the European circus.

Name: Hyacinth SmytheGender: FemaleFaction: British EmpireAppearance: Originally a French-African from Morocco everything about her is dark. Black hair, black eyes, skin like rich Belgian chocolate...it makes the white scar tissues of the old wound running down from her left eye stand out all the moreMech: NoOccupation: Secret Service Special Operative (MI16)Weapons/Equipment: A small kit of intricate tools for fixing things, breaking things, picking locks...Oh, and a small concealed pistol. Because it never hurts to be properly armedSkills: An expert mechanic. Has learned some martial arts, mostly of a defensive bent, from her husbandWeakness: Mostly for support, she's not so good if thrown into the thick of a crisisPersonality: A quiet and reassuring presence, the yin to Hubert's yangBio: Hyacinth was from the slums of Morocco, a descendant of slaves with a decent soul who did her best to improve the lives of those around her by rigging up crude devices and tinkering with existing stuff. Her knowledge of the local environment and this keen intellect for machinery is what brought her to Hubert's attention while on a little assassination trip. The two immediately hit it off, and Hubert insisted that she come back to England with him and become his wife and companion. It was he who was responsible for getting her inducted into the Military Intelligence department for Scientific Intelligence where her natural inclination for technology could be honed into formidable skill

The first two are fine, but depending on what you mean by "stealth" for the last one, I may or may not be able to approve it.

The sound the mech makes is decreased. He also blends in, but that is because of the camouflage painting.

The camouflage is nothing more than paint, correct? If so, then that is fine.

It is just paint. He changes it for most missions, however. Ie: forest mission has greens and browns, desert tans and browns.

Either will work, though I will be inclined to disregard your profile until you make Basilisk get in here.

IC-Richard:
"Technically, it's not the Chinese I'm having trouble with," Richard replied, mustering what good humour he could. "It's the Qing. Manchurians. The general Chinese...if they throw a rebellion, then I'll probably have a bit of trouble with them too." He stopped walking, doing a quick, military-styled about face, his heavy brow only adding to the glare he fixed upon Mr. Smythe.
"Though I wouldn't mind some information gathered on their Mecha." Richard grinned, after a moment.
"Just now, you get to convince me as to why I should let you go to China. If you don't do a satisfactory job, I'll probably assign you with another job. How would you like to be back in Germany?"
The racism is strong within you, Grochi. It's like only the Han are actually Chinese. The Zhuang, Hui, Miao and other ethnic groups are totally not Chinese. It's not like the Manchu ancestors established the Jin Dynasty or anything. It's not like they've been an established part of Chinese history since the beginning.
/sarcasm.

He's actually being surprisingly politically savvy. As you know, the Qing dynasty was resented as a group of invaders. Western ideals only added fuel to the fire. Now, imagine a foreign power inflaming historical inter-ethnic resentment. Limitless I say! Limitless! I see great potential for a secret Han society. >: ) I really wish this was set in the 40s. Any word on Hong Kong's status?

That was probably the case around the beginning and in the later years where the entire dynasty started collapsing, but the Kangxi Emperor is considered to be one of the greatest emperors ever (of course, I'm biased to the Hongwu Emperor, but that comes from sharing the same surname), and besides, seeing that in this universe, the Qing has been in power for about 390 years.Resentment wouldn't be as major as it may have been in our universe, where the Opium Wars and the like weakened Manchurian rule considerably.Besides, we probably have some Han chilling around in influential positions. It's not like ninety percent of the Chinese population is Han or anything.Hong Kong? It's ... ruled by the Chinese in name only. The British businessmen have a lot of influence in the day-by-day affairs of the island.China reclaimed Macau from the Portugese though.
