The War Room (ME: D Discussion Topic)

Just some questions while I work on profiles:

-What are the rules regarding using powers for non-combat situations? For example, if I'm chasing a car and one of my characters has a power that affects electronics like Overload or Sabotage, would I be able to use those powers to bring down the car?

-Are characters allowed to have multiple weapons of a single type (ie- two heavy pistols or two SMGs)

-Will powers introduced in the Retaliation and Reckoning packs be available?

-Do other grenades (incendiary, flash, frag) fall under weapons or powers?

on the part where it says ship descriptions in the profile, I take it to mean we have our own ship, correct?

Also, can we have modifications o our weapons?

Name: Major Valeria Astakhov

Species: Human

Gender: Female

Faction: USSR, KGB Agent

Class: Infiltrator

Abilities: Tech Armor, Sabotage, Tactical Cloak, Cyro Ammo, Adrenaline Rush, Fortification

Weapons and armor: Type-23 Armor, a type of armor commonly used by the Soviet CosmoForce for black ops and other covert operations. Described fully in the appearance section. Weapon wise, she wields one Trotsky Type 13 SMG a small, boxy SMG commonly used by the Soviet Cosmoforce for police duties, one Lenin Type 54 Sniper Rifle a large weapon that is normally used to crack large, armored targets. She has to mount it on a sturdy surface if she wishes to make full use of it however, it has two general settings. On is lighter, more rapid fire and has minimal recoil....but it does nothing against mechs or vehicles. The other setting requires to weapon to be mounted on a wall or other sturdy surface and is more effective against such targets. Appearance wise, the weapon is much like the Trotsky. Boxy and sturdy, as is typical of all Soviet weapons. Her other weapon is the AK-77, an evolution of the old AK-47 design. This assault rifle is the mainstay of all Soviet forces and is almost insanely reliable. It's nothing special combat wise, but you could leave it on the surface of a barren world ravaged by windstorms for a month and it'll still work.

Skills: Valeria specializes in infiltration and assassination. She's done wetwork for the KGB for most of her career...and it shows. She is extremely skilled at hacking, interrogation, Counterintelligence, intelligence gathering and of course, the removal of troublesome people. She is skilled in melee combat and ranged combat, as suits her role as an infiltrator. She can mantain any amount of weapons and armor, having been trapped in the field more then once in her career, she has learned to be extremely creative when it comes to repairing weapons and technology with limited resources. She is also an excellent actress, allowing her to be exactly who she wants to be, when she wants to be it. A useful skill for a spy.

Personality: Valeria can be described as....cheerful. Despite the dark nature of her work, she has a very bright personality. She isn't prone to depression and shrugs most things that would trouble another being right off. The galaxy is in trouble, she knows this but she fails to see why she should allow this to bring her down. She enjoys her job, her stash of Vodka and her trashy spy thriller novels. Life is good. The Union is on the rise once more, the Council is no longer the only real power in the galaxy....and her job is never boring. What more could she ask for? She enjoys her work and loves to chat about it....though, clearly, classified details will not be discussed.

Appearance: Valeria is somewhat pale, though not near enough to be considered albino. Her hair is a deep black and her eyes are a bright green. She is in shape, as would be expected of a soldier and strives to mantain a powerful body. She typically keeps her hair cropped, so it does not interfere in combat. Say what you will, but a long mane of hair just gets in the way. Her armor is black in color, with a gaskmask like helmet serving to conceal her face when she is on a mission. It has no distinctive markings that would identify it as armor of soviet make. When not on a mission, she tends to wear her formal KGB uniform. This consists of a formal officiers uniform, cap and a trench coat. All of these are dark brown in color, with red decoration, often in the form of the red star of the Soviet Union.

Ship specifications: The Normandy. She is the Soviet liason with Shepherd's crew.

Bio: Trained from an early age to serve the Union as a spy, Valeria is true believer in the cause of communism and she feels the rest of the galaxy would be better off if they were to embrace that system. She has worked for the KGB for most of her life and her record is impeccable. When she was promoted to Major (a position she earned after slaughtering a Turian Spectre who was snooping around USSR operations) she was given a new assignment, one that has proven quite interesting. She was put into contact with one Commander Shepherd, and was instructed to offer the Soviet Unions assistance. She did so.....and was accepted as a member of the crew. She found her niche tending to the weapons and armory of the Normandy, a position she excels in. She is attempting to sway Shepherd to the Unions way of thinkings....or, at the very least, ensure he does not take missions that would harm the Union.

She has supplied the Normandy with many weapons through her contacts within the Union and in return, she often asks Shepherd to undertake missions on behalf of the Union.....none that would clash with his morals of course, she is brave. Not stupid.

I believe you find life such a problem because you think there are the good people and the bad people. You are wrong, of course. There are, always and only, the bad people, but some of them are on opposite sides.

Name: Weyrloc Kruhan Age: 48 (Korgan can live for hundreds of years so he's still in his prime for sure) Species: Krogan Gender: Male Faction: Blood Pack Class: Vanguard Abilities: Carnage, Charge, Pull, Nova, and Shockwave Weapons and armor: Armor- Kruhan wears a set of bezerker armor, though without the helmet. Image! Weapons-M-22 Eviscerator Shotgun, Scorpion heavy pistol, M-15 Vindicator Battle Rifle. The rifle has an enhance scope feature so it zooms in almost like a sniper-rifle. He usually uses incendiary rounds. Skills: Kruhan is an excellent shot when it comes to shotguns, assault rifles and pistols. He is quite combat hardened, he is well versed with using his fists and his body to take down foes if he must. Hes adept with his biotic powers as well. Personality (optional): Kruhan can be described as headstrong. He is a warrior, and the epitome of a Krogan. Hed prefer to shoot someone then argue with them. He believes in the power of his people and wants to help the Krogan race to expand. Kruhan is very loyal to those he deems worthy through being powerful warriors or who show kindness to him. Appearance: Kruhan looks like a typical Krogan. The top of his head is red and black along with his hump. The rest of his skin is the normal yellowish/tan shade of the Krogan. His eyes are bright blue. He has a good number of scars along the left side of his head and other places on his body, but they are usually covered by his heavy armor.Ship specifications (if applicable): N/A Bio: Unlike most Krogan, Kruhan was not born on Tuchanka. Kruhan was born during an experiment by the nefarious Cerberus group. Cerberus collected hundreds of Krogan eggs; and as a fetus (while he was in his egg) he was exposed to ezo to see if hed develop Biotic powers. Out of the hundreds Cerberus attempted to be turned into biotics, Kruhan was one of few where it actually worked. Biotic Krogans are rare for an unknown reason. When Kruhan hit puberty his biotic implants were given to him to help him control his powers. The other Krogan who did not develop them were killed.Kruhan became an expendable weapon for the pro-human organization. They used him to kill or take down other powerful alien threats. Eventually Kruhan had enough and he used his powers to escape from Cerberus clutches. Kruhan then traveled to Tuchanka to help find who he was. He'd been named number 224 since thats the egg number hed been. When he landed on Tuchanka Kruhan was taken in by clan Weyrloc. He learned of his mother, and his father who was the current leader of clan Wyrloc. Kruhan then began fighting for them and oftentimes he was pitted against other Krogan from other clans due to how Krogan polotics worked. Clan Weyrloc was a large clan, a rival of the current largest and most powerful, Clan Urdnot. Kruhan then spent many years away from Tuchanka as a mercenary. He was hired to take down targets for credits. He was quite proficient with his work. Currently he works alone as an mercenary, but he is looking for something more; something great to do with his life. He is growing tired of all the killing. EDIT: Also unless I can't find anyone with a ship who'd like to have Kruhan join them I'll be editing this to add a ship later.

@ Sir Flex Nardius: Two small things. The only real problem with your profile is that Incendiary Ammo counts as a power so you'll have to drop it or swap it out with one of your other powers if you want to use it.Two, while non-essential, I'll point out that with krogan the clan name goes first. Fix the ammo thing and you'll be good to go, though.

and here is that profile I was talking about...

Name: Vilote Nermia' Vas Arkile

Species: Quarian

Gender: Male

Faction: ISA

Age: 25

Class: Infiltrator

Abilities:

Incinerate

Energy drain

Overload

Armor-Piercing rounds

Frag grenades

Ballistic blades

Weapons and armor:

Armor wise, Vilote wears his normal environmental suit, with armor plating put into throught out, so as to minimize possible damage.

M-13 Raptor with extended barrel and extended thermal clips.

M-12 Locust with SMG heat sink and SMG high Cal. Barrel

M-15 Vindicator with AR precision scope and AR extended barrel

Skills: Is skilled at computers and other technological items, as most Quarians have to be, to help keep the the Migrate Fleet operational. Is a very good shot with his Raptor, and can put half a clip into someone in the blink of an eye. Can be sneaky, but isn't the sneakiest. Is a good pilot, as he has had close to four years flying the Arkile.

Personality: A fairly kind lad, Vilote is still young, and has hope that the galaxy can be a better place one day. Can be hard to work with, as he is young, and naïve. Can be cold and distance at times. Is loyal to his crew-mates on the Arkile to a fault.

Appearance: Vilote looks like most quarians, wearing his envro-suit. The only real identifying features are the slight raises in the suit where he has inserted armor plating. His suit is full black, with red trim around his wrists and neckline just under the helmet. Also, the most outstanding feature of Vilote's suit is his visor. It is pitch black on the outside, but still shows the white glowing eyes quarians are known for.

Ship specifications: Vilote is the Captain and pilot of the Corvette class ship Arkile. The ship is small, about half the size of the Normandy. Due to it's size, the Arkile can go much faster then other ships, and is optimized for stealth. It's weapon systems aren't the best, but they don't need to be. The crew size of the Arkile is also very small, only needing about 4-5 to run just fine. The crew quarters aren't the biggest, but they work. The final feature about the Arkile worth noting is it's stealth drives. It can render itself invisible to most forms of detection, expect to the people looking out a window.

Bio: Growing up on the Migrant Fleet like most Quarains, Vilote led a simple life on the live-ships, not doing much beside what was needed to keep the Fleet going. It was when he reached the age for his Pilgrimage that life got interesting for Vilote. Bringing along with him some supplies, mainly his weapons, Violte set off to Omega, to see if he could find anything worth bringing back. It was a trip he still wishes at times that he didn't make. Having not found anything of use, Vilote was about to leave when, by luck or fate, he found a note about a ship named the Arkile. Following the direction of the note, Vilote found the ship, and began his life as mercenary. At first, it sickened Vilote, but he got used to it, and the pay was pretty good. Being the pliot, Vilote became very good with the ship. Eventually, when the old Captain died, he gave the ship to Vilote. Now doing the same thing, just for the ISA, Vilote pilots and leads the ship. Currently, he is looking for a few cremates, as two recently left.

@ Nardius: You're still listing six powers in the power section plus one in the weapons section.@ thelonewander: Approved.@ Promised Land: I'd wait for "Elvis" to have the last say on the weight thing, but I'd suggest it could decrease the weight by 1 so long as the decrease doesn't make the weight 0. So it wouldn't work on SMGs. Because then you could wield infinite Hurricanes. And that would be awful(ly wonderful). And maybe limit it so you could only use one Ultralight Materials per character. Kaithas, what is your opinion?

So once we post our profiles in the actual topic we put them here right. Oh by the way, I'm thinking of adding a second character to my list.

Name: Rick Menendez

Species: Human

Age: 28

Gender: Male

Faction: Human: USA

Class: Soldier

Abilities: Adrenaline Rush, Armor-Piercing Ammo, Ballistic Blades, Incendiary Ammo, Carnage, Blade Armor

Weapons and armor: Assault Rifle, Sniper Rifle, Heavy Pistol, SMG, and a Shotgun which he calls 'The Harbinger'. His armor is made more of for stealth combat. It's colors are mostly black with some silver linings. The silver is mostly on the arms, which is kinda like a tattoo marker that he has. His preferred weapon is his Assault Rifle

Skills: Stealth combat as stated above, which makes him more of an Infiltrator than a Soldier. But when things get messy, his stealth combat is off and his tactical combat skills are on. Those skills include CQC, Lethal Takedowns, and a raised awareness.

Appearance: Six foot six man with Mexican colored skin. Scruffy beard with mustache as well. Short cut hair black/dark brown hair that is combed back, and biker gloves that he wears. He also wears a tactical eye patch which covers his left eye.

Ship specifications: A medium fast ship that carries machine styled guns, long range and short range missels, and a rear machine gun styled turret which can be maned by a second person.

Bio: Rick grew up in San Antonio Texas, where he lived a wonderful life. His family owned a second house in the country side of Helotes, where he loved to play out in the fields as a soldier. His mother was a nurse at a hospital in the med district, and his father was a government worker that repaired system connections. His parents wanted him to achieve a life greater than he imagined, which lead to his enrollment into the military of the USA. He became a soldier in which he learned things that may be a bit out of his rank such as an Infiltrator. He mostly prefers to stay behind the front lines like most soldiers do. Instead he rather go in silently without detection, then once inside, strike the enemy. He currently resides in his country home out in Helotes, waiting for the call.

Just so ya'll know, this me in this game but with a different last name.

Okay, Flex, you're approved, just watch the Cerberus mentions. They're a bit shaky (in terms of existence, the Doctor is investigating) currently.

And Flaredrick, good to go.

As for grenades: carrying 3 of one type amounts to 1 weight.

Bunda is correct about ultralight materials, and Fitness raises your weight limit one.

No such thing as destiny.

I've been waiting for this for a long time. Spoilered for length.

Evelyn Wren

Name: Evelyn Wren

Gender: Male

Faction: The Council (In reality he’s only concerned about his sister and himself)

Class: Vanguard

Abilities: Biotic Charge, Biotic Slash, Nova, Shockwave, Adrenaline Rush, Ballistic Blades

Weapons and armor: As Blackbird, Evelyn prefers to remain as mobile as possible and thus only carries a Locust SMG and an M-5 Phalanx. Perhaps is most notable weapon is the sword sheathed on his back. It's a single-edged sword with a straight back. Instead of possessing a monomolecular edge it vibrates and heats up the blade to achieve the same effect. Evelyn wears light armor in order to maximize his mobility. It seems to be some sort of variant of the Terminus Assault Armor. The clawed gauntlet on his left arm shoots out physical blades for Ballistic Blades.

Skills: Evelyn is a skilled fighter. He's intelligent enough to qualify for The Council's various student programs and avoid getting his identity leaked out as Blackbird. However, Evelyn is unskilled with his biotics and requires his sword to act as a focal point to crete mass effect fields. He's also very fast thanks to his very light loadout. Evelyn is notoriously terrible with technology and can only use his omni-tool to perform the most basic tasks.

Personality: To most people, Evelyn is a kind and gentle young man. This is merely a facade as Evelyn possesses an intense hatred for Turians. This hatred is usually repressed in order to keep up appearances as a bridge builder between humanity and the Council. The only person he's truly honest with is his younger sister.

As Blackbird, he's stoic. He speaks only when necessary. Other bounty hunters look down on him for being too "soft" due to his distaste of killing more people than the job requires. Despite this, he has earned some amount of respect due to his professionalism and skills.

Appearance: Evelyn is a young man. His feminine face is framed by black hair that falls down to his chin. He usually wears a white hoodie and grey pants. His sneakers are considerably worn. Overall, Evelyn looks like a harmless student and more of a target than anything.

As Blackbird, Evelyn wears a dark grey bodysuit. His armor is integrated into a black duster. Evelyn's left arm is notably more armored than his right and includes a clawed gauntlet and pauldron. His helmet covers his entire face with a black visor and also modulates his voice.

Bio: The bounty hunter known only as Blackbird is an enigma. No one has ever seen his face and many even doubt that he is a human. He's relatively new but has managed to carve out a reputation for himself...

Evelyn Wren was born shortly after the First Contact War. His father was a Soviet soldier who died in the three-month conflict. The Council and humanity attempted to build relationships between the Turians and Humans by establishing a joint colony. Evelyn's family was relocated. His mother fell ill and died a few months after settling into the colony, leaving only Evelyn and Lila, his older sister. They lived in poverty, barely kept afloat by support from the Soviet government. Lila brought home an orphaned child one day and raised her alongside Evelyn.

As the seasons passed it seemed that the project was succeeding as humans and turians began to make peace with one another. Lila fell in love with a Turian and married. Although apprehensive, Evelyn soon came to view the Turian as a surrogate father figure. He provided a steady source of income and they lived prosperously for about three years. This came to an end when Evelyn came home from school one day and saw his sister's murder by the Turian. The Turian was acquitted through some unknown circumstances and Evelyn and his young sister were relocated to the Citadel in order to cover-up this tragedy.

His hatred for Turians was ignited by his sister's murder. Evelyn vowed to avenge her and trained to hunt down her murderer. He remained a part of the Citadel despite the information leaked out by Tali'Zorah. He began working as a bounty hunter when he became 20. He concealed his identity and traveled around the galaxy by taking advantage of student programs.

The Harbinger

Taelius Gyrus

Name: Taelius Gyrus

Species: Turian

Gender: Male

Faction: The Shadow Broker

Class: Infiltrator

Abilities: Tactical Cloak, Incineration, Hunter Mode, Carnage, Blade Armor, Geth Turret

Weapons and armor: Taelius uses two clawed gauntlets in battle. M-77 Paladins are integrated into the gauntlets. His armor is custom-made to accommodate with the modifications made to his body.

Skills: Taelius still possesses all the combat training he obtained during his time in 26th Armiger Legion. He was especially good at close-quarters combat and uses either his tactical cloak or propulsion pack to close distances. Taelius’s body has been augmented with Geth parts. As a result he can activate Hunter Mode and possesses strength almost equal to that of a Krogan’s.

Personality: Normally, Taelius is a very somber Turian. He’s stopped resisting his handler and has become submissive to the will of the Shadow Broker’s agent. Taelius is very distrusting of others and always keeps them at arm’s distance from him.

When Hunter Mode is activated, Taelius’s mind regresses to that of a child and his bloodlust is amplified. He attacks with reckless abandon and becomes solely focused with killing whoever he’s pointed at. The only time this deactivates is when he feels cornered or near death.

Appearance: Taelius is a relatively young looking Turian. His facial markings indicate that his ancestors’ home colony was Thracia. His forearms are legs are heavily augmented with Geth technology and have been painted black and red to match his armor. Taelius’s wears a black body suit with red markings underneath blood red armor. Blades extend out from his pauldrons and elbows. Strangely, his armor also has a leather cape that’s been split into five “tails”.

Bio: Taelius served in the 26th Armiger Legion after the First Contact War. He was stationed in the Citadel’s new colony. He was among the few Turians chosen to mend relations between the two races due to his youth and open mind. Eventually, Taelius met Lila and the two fell in love. This attracted the rage of his fellow soldiers and he was forced to resign before marrying into her family.

Without any way to make money Taelius decided to work as a mercenary. He would often leave for months at end – the only sign that he was still alive were the credits sent back to the colony. On one escort mission his combat skills caught the eye of a Shadow Broker agent. Taelius was offered more money than ever before and accepted. The Turian became an enforcer for the Shadow Broker who he had never seen or made contact with.

In an attempt to make Taelius even more deadly the Shadow Broker’s agent forced him to implant Geth technology into his body. The results were ultimately a success and Taelius became even stronger as a result. However, when he returned home one faithful day the Geth systems took over and forced him into Hunter Mode. He slaughtered his wife and ended up being arrested. The Shadow Broker managed to free him and took him away from the colony before he could explain anything to his shattered family.

As a result of these unfortunate events Taelius became a broken man. He stopped feeling anything but regret and guilt for his murder of Lila. He became one of the Shadow Broker’s grim executioners and is forced to kill whoever he is pointed at.

The Harbinger

Alea Wren

Name: Alea Wren

Species: Human

Gender: Female

Faction: Neutral, citizen of the Citadel

Class: Engineer

Abilities: Defense Matrix, Tech Armor, Sabotage, Overload, Submission Net, Tactical Scan

Weapons and armor: Alea possesses no weapons or armor. However, her customized mech carries around an M-5 Phalanx and an M-12 Locust is hidden with its right forearm. Should the situation become dire the mech can use a M-96 Mattock.

Skills: Alea has had a lot of free time due to her condition and has become adept in repairing mechs and hacking into systems. She possesses no combat skills and instead relies on controlling her mech to deal with any trouble. Her mech possesses the abilities listed above, not her.

Personality (optional): Alea has had very little contact with anyone since her disease took effect. As a result, she’s very shy and reclusive when she actually does talk face-to-face with someone who isn’t her brother. She’s extremely lonely most of the time and longs to make friends and tour around the galaxy like her brother. Alea is rather proud of her technological skills.

Appearance: Alea is a short girl. She’s grown into a beautiful young woman with light skin and golden hair. Her hair has grown all the way down to her ankles. She has bright green eyes and always seems to have a small smile on her face. She almost always wears her white dress.

Her customized mech, Geist, is a heavily modified LOKI mech. It’s been painted black with grey limbs. Each limb has been made longer and the flimsy plating has been replaced with actual armor. The head has been redesigned to look more menacing and angular. Two pylons stick out the back of the mech, resembling bound wings.

Bio: Alea was born in the joint colony. Her parents were both veterans of the First Contact War and instigated multiple conflicts between Turians and Humans. This lead to their deaths during a race riot and left the infant Alea alone in the world.

Fortune smiled upon her when Lila found her on the streets and took her in. She grew alongside Evelyn and became open-minded as a result of Lila’s marriage to Taelius. After Lila’s murder she was brought to the Citadel along with Evelyn.

During this time, a rare genetic disease finally began to affect Alea. Her nervous system began to deteriorate, resulting in paralysis. Eventually the disease would leave her a mindless shell before causing her heart to stop as well. Evelyn began working harder as a result of this in order to buy treatments to slow down this disease and thus lead to him becoming a bounty hunter. Alea is unaware of this and spends her lonely days on the Citadel. She uses Geist to shop for food and do things that she’s unable to. It’s also her only way to protect herself in case of a home invasion.

Here be profiles. Yar.Name: Orinthia NassusSpecies: AsariAge: 252Gender: FemaleFaction: Aligned with the Council, though technically a noncombatant.Class: Disruptor SentinelAbilities: Pull, Barrier, Overload/Neural Shock, Flashbang Grenade, Sabotage, Defense DroneWeapons and armor: She carries a heavily modified M-7 Lancer with Extended Magazine and Extended Barrel modifications. While normally a weak rifle type, shes tinkered with to the point that it is actually fairly effective. She wears Ajax armor with dark brown plating and black fabric armor underneath when she's expecting trouble.Skills: Orinthia received basic biotic training, like all asari, though it did not interest her enough to develop it much. However, she has practiced her Barrier-making skills, for defense, and has become quite proficient with them. She is not very good with manipulating large objects, but she can deftly manipulate small things at range with her Pull. She's quite good with her omni-tool, having modified it to give off a powerful electrical charge in CQC, and programmed various tools for sabotage and espionage.Personality: Orinthia Nassus is very direct, brutally honest and speaks her mind freely, so long as she's not under cover. Despite this she is patient and not a woman of rash action, preferring to mull things over, do lots of research, and seek the opinions of those that are wiser before acting on important matters. Meticulous in all things, she's a lot of bark, but little bite.Appearance: As an asari, Orinthia possesses some natural beauty and elegance, though among her species her attractiveness is simply on the nicer side of average. Her skin is a darker shade of blue than is typical, with hints of purple, and she wears white lipstick. Her omni-tool and Defense Drone's default color has been modified to be cyan.Bio: Orinthia has been a freelance journalist for almost ninety years now. She likes to be out in the thick of things, and will cooperate with even the most unsavory villains if she thinks she can get a good story out of it. While her life has been filled with dozens of small, exciting adventures, nothing stands out as a defining moment in her career or her personal life. She is the daughter of an asari and a batarian father, and has a half sister who is part drell. While she loved her father, she prefers not to mention him as batarians are not particularly well liked, no matter where you go.She has always had an intense interest in weaponry, and is very skilled with all manner of offensive tools in controlled environments. Her experience in actual combat is fairly limited, though she's gotten into a few scrapes over the years. As a hobby she spends lots of time modifying and upgrading the Lancer she got second-hand about a decade ago, and tinkering with her armor and omni-tool. Despite having a working though not expert-level knowledge of tech, biotics and weaponry, she doesn't consider herself a combatant, just an enthusiast. Still, in her line of work having a good defense doesn't hurt.

Name: Jason WallerSpecies: HumanAge: 27Gender: MaleFaction: Black Star mercenary teamClass: EngineerAbilities: Supply Pylon, Overload, Incinerate, Cryo Blast, Submission Net, SabotageWeapons and armor: M-77 Paladin x2 (modified with magazine upgrade and power magnifier) and Disciple shotgun (modified with ultra-light materials and spare thermal clips). Light body armor that can be easily concealed by clothing that makes up for its fewer armor plates with its shields and increased mobility. Also wears a Mnemonic Visor in combat.Skills: Jason is a skilled with many forms of technology, both hardware and software. If there is a door to be opened, a system to be hacked, or a machine to be repair, Jason is usually the one doing it. In combat, he prefers to use his tech abilities to strip away the defenses of his enemies and provide his teammates with openings that they can exploit. He's also a handy shot with his two heavy pistols.Personality: Charismatic and calculating, Jason prefers to analyze a situation before going in but can improvise when things go wrong. He gives respect where it is due and is generally friendly when off assignment. Even when on the job, he likes to crack an occassional joke.Appearance: At around six-foot even, Jason comes across an average-sized human male. He prefers clothing that can easily be put over his body armor. His black hair is usually tied back in a low ponytail to keep it out of his face and his arms are often exposed to show his tattoos.Ship specifications: The Black Stars travel on Dabuhs, a heavily modified corvette that is designed to be operated by the three-man team. Its primary feature is the multiple ship-board VIs that handle most of the ship's functions such as life support, shielding, and weapons. In fact, the VIs are capable of operating the ship on their own when the team is on the ground, making it possible to drop in and have the Dabuhs pick them up quickly as long as they are within radio range. Because it is mostly used to transport the team to different systems, its armaments are fairly light, including two forward-facing mass accelerator cannons and two heavy machine guns, one mounted on the nose and the other beneath the tail.Bio: Growing up on Omega, Jason spent most of his days playing in the alleyways and getting into trouble. Because his parents lacked the money to get him a proper education, many of his lessons took place on the streets and in the shipyards. Encounters with visiting Quarians sparked his interest in technology, which blossomed in to a full-on passion as he got older. When he wasn't sitting in a bar listening to mercenaries tell stories of their adventures, he was tinkering with ship parts, computers, and whatever else he could get his hands on.

Try as they might, Jason's parents couldn't always protect him from the dangers of Omega and he endured many a beating at the hands of thugs and drunken mercenaries. His fater eventually put together a bit of money and left for the Citadel to try and find better work, but contact between them stopped after a few years. By then, Jason was becoming drawn to the mercenary life and despite his mother's protests, ended up joining a small-time group for an assignment and since then, has never looked back. Now he puts his technological skills to use as the leader of the three-man group, the Black Stars.

Name: Camille MilesSpecies: HumanAge:28Gender: FemaleFaction: Black Star mercenary teamClass: SoldierAbilities: Adrenaline Rush, Armor Piercing Ammo, Incendiary Ammo, Fortification, Carnage, Ballistic BladesWeapons and armor: M-76 Revenant (modified with magazine upgrade and stability damper), M-37 Falcon (modified with magazine upgrade and Omni-Blade), Reegar Carbine (modified with spare thermal clips and shredder modification), M-358 Talon (modified with high caliber barrel and piercing modification). Wears a modified set of Cerberus Ajax armor (power amplification feature is removed in favor of slightly greater shield boost, standard helmet is replaced by Death Mask).Skills: Camille is the muscle of the team, using her powerful shields and various weapons to push through enemy lines when the going gets tough. Her close-combat skills are exceptional thanks to the augments in her arms and legs.Personality: Headstrong and short-tempered, Camille's brash and stubborn attitude has gotten her and the others in trouble more than a few times. Her unwillingness to back down from a fight has given her a reputation as reckless and dangerous. Despite this, Camille likes to have a good time as much as anyone but can often come across as rude or offensive when acting casual around others.Appearance: Due to her short stature, Camille often wears loud colors to stand out, with her favorite being red. Her muscles are finely toned and she is also tattooed. She has short brown hair with blonde streaks and a scar going down her cheek. Her armor is painted red with black highlights and has three black stars painted onto the left pauldron.Ship specifications: see Jason's profileBio: Camille was born into a military family. Her parents, grandparents, and siblings all served in the Alliance and for a brief while, she did as well. However, her violent tendencies eventually landed her in enough trouble to warrant a dishonorable discharge and Camille found herself with no where to go and angry at everyone. For several years, she drifted from mercenary group to mercenary group, even briefly working for the Blue Suns at one point but quit after getting frustrated with the leadership.

Eventually, she found herself on a team with a young mercenary named Jason Waller while participating in a raid on a Batarian smuggler vessel. The two ended up being the only surviving members and when they brought in the goods, the client refused to pay. Before she could exact her revenge, Jason pulled her aside and suggested that they team up again to chase a greater reward. After breaking into their former client's residence and robbing him blind, the two continued to work together as the team that would later be named the Black Stars.

Name: Alank VaretninSpecies: TurianAge: 45Gender: MaleFaction: Black Star mercenary teamClass: SentinelAbilities: Tactical Cloak, Decoy, Hunter Mode, Tactical Scan, Warp Ammo, PullWeapons and armor: M-92 Mantis (modified with extended barrel and piercing modification), M-9 Tempest (modified with magazine upgrade and recoil system). Wears his old armor from his time in the 26th Armiger Legion but slightly modified to be less distinctive.Skills: Alank's training during his time in the Turian military has honed him into a deadly warrior specializing in infiltration and assassination, making him perfectly suited to be a sniper. While his biotics are not as powerful as those of most Cabals, he can still use them in efficient combination with his rifle to pick off floating targets. In combat, Alank usually takes the high ground and uses his keen eyes to survey the battlefield, relaying important information to his teammates.Personality: Even as a mercenary, Alank still displays the strict Turian discipline that is ingrained into his culture. This doesn't mean that he lacks a sense of humor, however. His time as a Black Star has made him more accepting of other races, although his old prejudices sometimes slip through.Appearance: Alank's skin is slightly darker than the average Turian, making his white face-paint stand out more. He has blue eyes and has numerous scars on his body from his years as a soldier.Ship specifications: see Jason's profileBio: As a rare biotic amongst Turians, Alank served in the exclusive Cabal units for much of the latter part of his military career. Prior to this, he primarily served in the 26th Armiger Legion in the Ghost unit, going deep behind enemy lines to strike at the heart of enemy. One of his last assignments prior to his retirement from the military was the assassination of a Krogan Warlord calling himself "The Harbinger", with Alank taking the killing shot. However, his advancing age and the stigma of biotics amongst Turians eventually lead to an early retirement from the military.

Although he had retired, Alank still possessed the drive to be in the action. After drifting through several mercenary groups, he found himself in an unlikely partnership with a pair of humans that eventually lead to the formation of the Black Star mercenary team.

@ Promised Land: Flash Grenades, provided you mean like Kasumi's low damage, disruptive power, should be listed as a Tech ability rather than grenade type. I believe. The power list still isn't updated. *frowns at Kaithas*Otherwise the profiles look good to go.To everybody: I'm working on a second character but he would kind of suck on his own. Anyone with a ship want a mechanic?

I made us a banner. Link is http://www.majhost.com/gallery/ZGMF-X99A/other/mass_effect_division.png]here[/url] because I apparently can't use the image extension. Here is the code (put brackets around "img", "/img", "/url", and "url=*insert link*", remove the spaces)

She is best at getting up close and personal with her targets, just like her teacher did, yet she is also very good at shooting (not as good as Shepard), mostly with sniper rifles.Appearance: Thick, Blonde, Medium length hair, bright green eyes that often appear to glow in certain light, making her nickname that more appropriate, stands at about 5 ft. 6 in, athletic build, very beautiful. After a few years her conscious grew heavy and she began to question the morality of her career. She then became a freelancer, using her skills to get rid of those who preyed on the innocent. Hrm, well, you see, now this is awkward. Because I've been sitting on this one, preapproved, in case anyone was wondering, for a while. But somehow, someone came up with the same last name. Hmm.

Oh well. Time to start the handwave generator. :P

Name: Alistair WrenSpecies: HumanGender: MaleFaction: UnalignedClass: InfiltratorAbilities:Tech:-Hunter Mode-Tactical Cloak-Defense MatrixCombat:- Adrenaline Rush-Ballistic Blades- Blade ArmorWeapons and armor: Alistair has two pistols tucked away on his person at all times. At least, as far as anyone knows. Carried less rarely is his sniper rifle. Unknown to most of the people around him, he wears light mercenary armor, designed and built by Ariake Technologies.Skills: Alistair, despite his.... Eccentricities, is incredibly effective, both as a combatant and in his chosen field. First and foremost, he is an mechanical engineer. He is versed in the design and maintenance of ninety percent of the machines on the market, from dish washers to ships. And the other ten percent he could work out, given the chance. Personality (optional): Those being polite would call Alistair “eccentric”. Those less polite would call him “insane”. He has a hobby of collecting and learning about old Earth technology and customs, including the ones that are considered outdated by most of the modern world. He has a tendency to forgo the usual fashion conventions of the day in favor of his own style, and will use outdated expressions in modern language. Perhaps because of these eccentricities, he has no consistent associates. Despite being employed, he works far way from the usual offices of his employers, and spends much of his time on Omega or traveling.Appearance: Tall and darkhaired, Alistair manages to simultaneously be out of place and blend in. An outdated, dark red coat is his standard outfit, worn over his armor. In the dim halls on Omega, he blends in quite easily despite his bizarre appearance. His pistols are easily concealed by the bulky outfit, and Ship specifications (if applicable): N/ABio: Alistair was raised on Earth, and spent the majority of his young life there. Not too much is known about the time between when he started working for his current employers, and the present day. He barely makes a blip on the legal radar, but someone with his training must have gotten it somewhere.

Finally got this done. through extensive moral support from friends and all that

Name: Ssel Tykoh

Species: Krogan

Gender: Male

Faction: None

Class: Vanguard

Abilities:

Biotic:- Throw- Slam- Pull- Singularity

Combat:- Armor Peircing Ammo- Adrenaline Rush

Weapons And Armor:

Heavy Pistol- M-358 Talon w/Heavy Barrel and Magazine Upgrade mods. (x2)

Assault Rifle- Geth Spinfire w/High Velocity Barrel and Ammo Capacity mods.

SMG- M-25 Hornet w/Heat Sync and Recoil System mods. (x2)

Wears a set of customized armor. Overall, it's similar in design to the Heavy Colossus Armor, but with a helmet design more akin to that of the Heavy Warlord Armor. Additionally, the red coloring has been removed in favor of dark purple, for stealth purposes. Furthermore, the armor is equipped with dual omni-blades for close-quarters combat.

Skills: With his prodigious strength, close-combat fighting is in no way one of his weak points (all things considered, it's easily one of his strongest points). His heavy armor provides him with great protection within those close ranges, although it slows him down somewhat. He's accurate enough with his ranged weapons, but is no perfect marksman. This shows with his tendancy to make use of weapons that don't exactly require aiming. His real strength lies in his biotic abilities. He's skilled enough with them to be considered on par with an average Adapt, and what he lacks in fine control he make up for with sheer power.

Appearance: Tall, hulking, the kind of person you take great lengths to avoid. Tykoh is massive, even for a krogan, with an almost over-muscled physique, broad shoulders, and powerfully built arms. His thick hide has dark brown, almost black, markings across it, while his head crest is purple in color. His wide-set eyes are green, and shine with a surprising intelligence for the brute.

Ship Specifications: N/A

Bio: Biotic powers are a somewhat rare occurrence among krogans, but when they do appear, they are extremely powerful, and quickly move up within military rank. Tykoh is at all no exception to this, with his powers developed to the best of his abilities, he gained a rather high rank within the Krogan military, despite the fact that he was young. None the less, the warrior proved himself just as capable as any other Krogan, more so even. For some reason, which he doesn't discuss, he was discharged from his military, and forced to work elsewhere. The details are vague, but apparently something happened that put a permanent scar on his record. Since then, he's been working as a gun for hire, bounty hunter, and body guard.
