To The Stars: Welcome this is an epic of both Me and Commander CeeCee, enjoy.Review topic: http://www.bzpower.com/board/index.php?showtopic=9213Prologue:Kumu Islets, The Kingdom Dimension, 11005 AGC, A few minutes before the launch.Turaga Takanuva stepped forward, his head facing the crowd of people all around him. Nearly the whole island had come, all to see their newly-made chance of escaping, their only chance. He then spoke in the microphone in front of him so his voice would be heard by whole the island."My friends, I'm glad you all have come. As you all know our island, the last gift of the Great Spirit, will not last long much longer, once it will fall in the emptiness of the old universe and we'll meet the fate we so narrowly evaded ten thousand years ago. But, do not fear, as long as we live we'll fight for the good and today I am going to show you the result of this decades of work. Thanks to this six beings and all the others who helped to realize this immense project, our last chance to once again migrate away from our homes, for a new future to come. Velika, Nuparu, Xinjo, Nuju, and as he said their names a gate behind him opened, revealing the beings, Tehutti and Kikara, because of them, there will be a tomorrow." The crowd cheered, knowing these very beings could make the difference between life and death. Turaga Takanuva continued, sounding more excited then before."May these heroes carry the heart of our civilization in search for a new home. May they return with new hope after their voyage is successfully over. May the ship they made themselves carry them safely to their unknown destination."He turned around and while he did that the ground started shaking. Normally this would've caused panic amongst the Matoran, but now they knew what was coming and were prepared. The ground now in front of Takanuva shoved open and a massive object started moving upwards out of the depth. And as the object moved upwards the six beings stepped closer to the Turaga as he turned around and continued his speech."My dear brothers and sisters, I present to you, the hope of our civilization, our salvation, the ship to the stars: The Lhikan III"The crowd looked shocked and surprised, they had known before it was a way to escape the doomed island. They had suspected many things, ranging from Airships to Boats, they knew it would be should be spectacular, but a Vehicle able to reach the stars went beyond their expectations."This ship, named in honor of brave Toa Lhikan will, when charged with a power scource, carry these six heroes towards the unknown worlds that lie behind the void of space. They will then study these worlds and return when their job is done, if a world is found that we are able to live upon, we will all venture and settle ourselves there. So, let us hope they will be able to succesfully finish their quest."And while the Turaga spoke the crowd started to cheer. The brightly glowing power source he had spoken of was being carried by six Ta-Matoran towards the ship, its power was beyond the imaginable, it was a cube of a half meter, which unknownst to almost anyone, contained the three legendary masks: Life, Time and Creation. The object was placed in a capsule in the heart of ship, which powered up and the engines and lights inside and outside sprung alive. Engineers from all around kept their breath, seeing their creation functioning as planned. And as guards or the power source stepped outside, the six heroes tasked with their nearly impossible quest walked trough the gate of the ship, all except for Kikara waving towards the crowd. The Turaga of Light watched, he became a bit saddened, knowing that there was a chance of the heroes, some of which personal friends of him, not coming back. He waved to them and whispered as the doors closed."Goodbye, my brothers and sister, and let this not be a farewell."He stepped backwards as the engines of the vehicle started glowing and energy was blasted down, and slowly the ship started to rise from the ground. And right in front of the astonished crowd the energies of the three main forces combined, producing an incredible amount of pure energy. These energies provided the perfect way for the ship to blast itself out of the planets atmosphere. The ship that had moments before stood on an island was now blasting trough the void of space and was now nearing the stars themselves. And while the crowd returned to their posts Takanuva thought:May Mata Nui, even as a scattered remain of what he once was, protect them, may they live to furfill their task, may they return with new hope, may their voyage to the stars be a success. Chapter 1:

16 Hours Before Launch

The orange sun was setting, its beautiful rays slowly being enveloped by the Horizon of The Kingdom. Turaga Nuju was sitting cross legged upon his meditation stone, still warm from the suns heat. The Turaga of Ice opened his eyes and let out a long, deep sigh. When that sun rose again, he would be getting ready to be part of one of the greatest achievements of Matoran history to date. And it frightened him. The Ko-Turaga was rarely open about his hopes, fears and emotions so his doubts hadn’t really surfaces besides small hint in already short conversations. It wasn’t that didn’t want to venture upwards and travel to the stars, but just the thought of it made him feel so small and insignificant. What he used to think of as a universe was merely a lump of metal. Now he knew it was just a small part of a larger picture and a picture he would be soaring through so very soon.

Nuju closed his eyes again and breathed in the deep cool evening air. Only the sounds of birds and the gentle blowing of the grass could be heard with the Turaga’s frail ears. Resting his open hands on his knees, Nuju rose, picking up his staff that lay beside him. He supported on it for balance. Nuju squinted his eyes towards the orange sky and let them follow a Gukko bird flying home to its nest. Nuju whistled out to it, and the bird responded with a happy continuous “toot”. Nuju smiled and angled his face down to look at the luscious green grass the expanded far beyond the Matoran eyes capability. The Turaga’s heart filled with a warm nostalgic sadness. They were counting on returning but Nuju had a horrible feeling that this would be the last time he would taste the cool air, hear the grass sway, feel the warmth of the sun on his face and talk to the Gukko birds.

“I thought I might find you out here”

The Turaga titled his neck around to see Takanuva walking up behind him. Although he was a Turaga just like Nuju, he seemed to walk much more easily, not relying on his staff like Nuju did.

“Turaga”, Nuju let out a sad smile. “You know me all too well”

Takanuva laughed, but then silenced after he saw Nuju’s bleakness. He furrowed his brow and looked the Ko-Turaga directly in his icy blue eyes. “Nuju?” he asked. “Whatever is the matter?”

Nuju’s pulled his vacant star away for Takanuva and turned once again to face the sun, not almost completely vanished from sight, and allowing the stars to shine their magnificent in their millions spreading far across the purpling sky.

“Takanuva, I have known you ever since you were just a small Matoran called Takua. I am honoured after all these centuries to call you my friend, for I have lost so many”. Nuju rested his both his calm hands on the top of his staff and dropped his head to face the ground. “After all these years, I have grown so old and so wise, yet sometimes you lean things at the most strangest of times”

Takanuva gave the Turaga an inquisitive look. “And, what did you learn?”

“I learned”, The Turagas eyes were wet. “I learned that some dreams are meant for the young”

Takanuva was taken aback by this monetarily, then stepped onto the meditation rock, putting a firm golden hand upon Nuju’s shoulder. “Nuju” , he said. “I don’t understand.

Nuju just turned and smiled. He didn’t expect the Turaga to understand so he didn’t see the use of pressing the matter anymore. Nuju knew he was getting old now. His body was weak and his limbs ached. He just wasn’t sure he was

right to go on such a mission. Yes he had worked on the project to great lengths and had dreamed for years and years of being part of such a feat. But maybe it was time to pass the torch to someone much younger and capable. Besides, he highly doubted Takanuva would let him out of such a key part of The Kingdoms Legacy.

“You know Nuju? I don’t believe you’ve met the crew yet… have you?”

5 Hours Before Launch

From the cliff face that housed the only space station in the Kingdom Tehutti watched as the lights of the city started to flicker on one by one. He watched the Matoran little by little open the doors and enter their houses, not to re-emerge until sun rise, when the Lhikan III would fire its thrusters, projecting steam onto the ground in a blaze of glory, and begin its launch into space with him on board. He was to be the historian for the mission. It was his job to not only scavenge and research any possible history of civilizations they found on the planets they ventured to, but also record what happened to the crew and their adventures as well.

The sky was now a dark purple and the stars had fully emerged, batheing the Kingdom in their heavenly aura. It didn’t seem like he would soon be flying past them. He wondered what they would look like up close. A buzz of anxious excitement seized his chest and he struggled for breath. He made sure none of the two Matoran beside saw his sudden loss of control. As he did, the Ce-Matoran who was sitting reading a book caught his eye. He immediately dropped his to the floor, as denying he had never looked at her. He felt his face grow warm with embarrassment. She had earlier told him her name was Kikara although he hadn’t asked her what her role on the ship was. To Tehutti’s left was a Le-Matoran called Xinjo who could have been nothing other but the ships pilot.

Tehutti was resting his head on his fist in a bored, tired manner. He let a long deep breath of frustration and tapped his foot on the floor infuriatingly. The sound of the motion kept him entertained as it was about the most exciting thing going on in the room. He was already anxious and he couldn’t think of anything worse to do that sit here on Po-Wahi and wait for orders.

“Would you stop that!” hissed the Xinjo referring to the tapping Tehutti was making with his foot. The Onu-Matoran had been getting so entranced with the rythim he had completely forgot he was doing it. The pilot was leaning against the

door way, his arms folded against his chest. “I’ve got better things to be doing tonight that listening to you tap your foot on the ground like a moron”, he said shaking his head

“Then why don’t you go and do them then?” Tehutti growled, shooting the Le-Matoran a cold glare with his dark green eyes, without moving from his position. Tehutti would often act out in anger if someone question him. It wasn’t something he thought about. It was just something he did.

Xinjo seemed to acknowledge Onu-Matoran’s short temper and decided it probably wouldn’t be bet to press on too much in one go. Turning his attention away from Tehutti the Le-Matoran turned to Kikara who was reading silently in the corner

“No offence sweet-heart, but you’re not really one for conversation are you?”

Tehutti was a little surprised by Xinjo deciding to target the Matoran of Psonics who seemed to be doing no harm to anyone. He would have intervened if the Ce-Matoran hadn’t of looked up from the book the rested on her tucked in knees. She gave him a long cold stare that Tehutti could almost see the shivers run down Xinjo’s spine.

“I don’t see the point in adding to conversation that has little benefit to my own needs”, she said, going back to reading the tiny printed words in her book, filled with diagrams of weapons and components.

The Le-Matoran gritted his teeth. He clearly didn’t like the fact this Matoran had spoken back to him and definitely wasn’t expecting it. Tehutti couldn’t deny, he already liked her.

“What you reading there?” The Le-Matoran asked. His voice was wobbling and shaking as if he was trying to control his anger that swelled inside him. Tehutti could quite tell if they question was a pathetic attempt at small talking or a beginning of another one of his taunts. Whichever it was though, the Kikara didn’t give Tehutti a chance to find out. She glanced back up from the book again, looked the Le-Matoran right in his eyes with a glare even icier than before and said.

“It’s a book about weapons. And not just any weapons. See, the section that I’m reading right now is about weapons that kill people incredible slowly, yet also incredibly painfully” she said, as a cold smile crept across her lips.

The Le-Matoran unfolded his arms and gulped as his face grew wild with terror, His eyes as wide as an Energy Hound pup. Tehutti let couldn’t help but laugh at the expense of the pathetic Le-Matoran. He looked as if he had just been stuck with high charged lightning bolt. This certainly made it worth staying up this late.

A crackle on the speaker brought all the Matoran’s attentions to an alert.

Would all crew members of the Lhikahn III please report to the Lhikan III.

Xinjo was the first to leave. Tehutti didn’t think he could have got away quick enough if he’s of tried. As Kikara was just about to exit through the door way, Tehutti blocked her with his arm.

“Don’t you want to walk together?”, he said in a hopefull expression

Kikara simply put her head down and smiled. She then walked off in a hurry, her book clutched to her chest. Tehutti was surprised at her shyness towards him compared to how she was with Xinjo. He shoot it off and followed the two Matoran down the hallway.

Chapter 2:One hour after the launch, The KingdomAs the Lhikan III soared trough the atmosphere of the planet, Turaga Takanuva returned to the Coliseum, where the command center of the space mission was located. He anxiously entered the purely white room were around a dozen Matoran of different elements sat behind screens, constantly regulating the complex machinery inside the spacecraft."Gentlemen, could you provide me a status update."He spoke, trying to sound calm like a real leader would do in this situation, but in his heart he feared for the life of his friends. A Ta-Matoran turned around on his seat and spoke:"They made it trough the atmosphere and are now in orbit around the planet, we're trying to contact them right now."He calmly walked trough the room, trying to hide his joy which he had got hearing the first part of the impossible quest was successfully archieved. He spoke once again into a microphone, this time not to speak to a massive crowd but to a ship that was orbitting the planet 28000 Kilomiters above."Coliseum command base to Lhikan III, do you hear me, I repeat, do you hear me."Icy silence crept all over the controll room, all knowin how easily a mistake could've been made, and all Matoran waited axiously while Turaga Takanuva repeated, with this time panick clearly hearable in his voice:"Coliseum to Lhikan III, do you hear me..."And as salvation a known voice finally came trough the speakers:"This is Nuju of the Lhikan III we hear you loud and clear."Takanuva went to sit down, the stress of the launch and the lack of reaction had tired him very much. But also a small fraction of a smile was visible on his face, hearing in the background of Nuju's calm and quiet voice Nuparu cheering in happiness of getting his invention to work."Well, everything is going as planned, you are orbitting the planet now, soon we will lose connection if you are on the other side of the planet, from there on the mission lies in your own hand, for I can't forsee when we will regain that connection."Nuju responed:"Ok, farewell..."Ah cold chill crept trough Takanuva's body, hearing his friend say farewell to him."No farewell, goodbye."

* * *

On the Lhikan III"Nuparu, could you shut up please."Velika, who was already focussed on the future parts of the quest, spoke as he interrupted the overly happy Nuparu."There will be a chance to celebrate our survival of this mission later, I don't know when, maybe if it's done and we are still alive."Nuparu looked angered, he had spent years of hard work into this ship, very hard work, and this Toa wouldn't allow him to be a bit happy about seeing it work well, and he spat back:"Whatever you want, brother."They were interupted by the voice of the pilot:"Eeeh guys, I'd come and see this if I were you..."Both Toa walked to the main deck, which was equipped with most of the complex machines and an enourmous glassen window, through which their home planet was visible. A massive circle of deep blue, in the middle there was a spek of land, which they all knew, was the island of Mata Nui, but, what was more magnificent, was the humanoid figure, lying under the water, of which the spek formed the head. The six beings on the ship were secretly informed by Takanuva about the nature of that figure, who on his turn had obtained this knowledge from the legendary Tren Krom, to prevent shock when they'd notice it. Even though they were informed it was still pretty hard to get, being inside a massive robot, which turned out to be Mata Nui himself, to maintain it to make sure it could complete it's ultimate task: to repair some kind of distant planet called Spherus Magna. It made them all feel incredibly small, seeing the massiveness of the robot, and the even bigger planet it had chrashed upon, all crew members seemed to be touched by it, all except Velika. Who spoke calmly:"So, what's down there to see, yet another mistake some foolish beings made, nothing special."All seemed to be shocked by this respectless insult of their creators, but they chose not to respond. And as the Lhikan III continued its orbit around the planet and their island they had called home for so long vanished from sight, Nuparu started to feel terribly sad. He realised that all he had createn, all stuff many people considered awesome and made him really proud, were nothing more than a small gear in the complex system the Great Beigns had built. Even when his ship would succeed in its yourney, even when its mission would turn out to be a success, it would still be unoriginal, for a group of beings had overruled him a thousand times with their creation, he wasn't a inventor, merely a small and unsignificant part of a invention."Err , guys, you better stop daydreaming, we have a problem here."Nuparu shook his head, noticing that a giant cloud of asteroids was nearing, nearing at high speed, nearing at an undodgable speed. But Nuju had forseen such and spoke calm and quicly:"Xinjo, do whatever you can to dodge those rocks. Velika, Nuparu use your powers, don't let such a thing come close, and Kikara, you mu..." But when Nuju started his last sentence, he noticed the Matoran was gone, probably fled to the basement of the ship, hiding in the dark."Now", he continued, "let's see if this mechanism works."A special kind of power started flowing through the outer protosteelen walls of the ship, a power all beings inside could recognise as a forcefield, a forcefield of a Hau."So that will keep the smaller stones from damaging the ships, hower it won't last against those huge fragments of stone, those, I leave up to you."And while Velika and Nuparu used their powers to keep the stones on a safe distance, Xinjo, who was in uppermost concentration, spoke:"Hey, guys, didn't we have a blaster of some kind loaded on the ship, couldn't we simply use that instead of dodging these things like a madman."Nuparu, responded quickly and slightly angered :"That blaster is meant for organic creatures attacking us in the unknown lands that lay ahead, not for huge lumps of solid stone."As the Le-Matoran focussed back to the window, Velika shouted in anger at Nuparu:"Nuparu, pay attention!"In that extremely short fraction of a second the crew didn't pay attention, a stone of undiscribable size, that had stayed hidden behind a cloud of gas, appeared and flew at high speed straight towards the ship.A red light sprung alive, for the intelligent computer that was placed inside the ship had calculated that due the immenseness of the stone, it had become indodgable for the ship. In addition the flickering red light a alarm sounded trough the room, indicating the doom that was nearing the ship."Nuparu, help me here, help me pushing this rock aside!""Are you a madman Velika? We will never be able to puch this rock fully aside, it'll still impact on the side of the ship! No, we must put the inside of that rock under pressure, so it will explode!"And as the alarm and red lights continued to function and the stone came closer, bringing doom towards the whole ship, the two Toa, the two very beings that could rescue them all, were arguing."So, I'm the madman here, do you really think our powers will have any result on the centrr of a stone that bi.."Velika was interupted by an inpact, the impact they all had feared, Xinjo dove under the desk and Nuju, the old Turaga, fell on the ground, and the alarm and lights stopped, everything went quiet. But in the after a few seconds of darkness, the lights flickered back on, not the red alarm light but the normal golden coloured ones. And Nuparu opened his eyes again, as first of the crew."The forcefield... is broken ... yet we live... why?"As everyone stood back on their feet, they noticed that on one of the screen a animation was repeated. The animation showed how the rock with no effort broke trough the forcefield and suddenly vaporised before it could hit the ship, unleashing a wave of energy, immensly shaking the ship."Well, that explains", Velika spoke, "but how?"The speakers that hung all around the ship didn't let out the cruel sound of the alarm anymore, but a voice, the voice of Kikara: But in the after a few seconds of darkness, the lights flickered back on, not the red alarm light but the normal golden coloured ones. And Nuparu opened his eyes again, as first of the crew."The forcefield... is broken ... yet we live... why?"The speakers that hung all around the ship didn't sound the alarm anymore, but a calm voice, the voice of Kikara."You know what they say about the Nynrah Ghosts, give them some materials, leave them alone, and the most amazing things can be made. Nuparu, Velika, your blaster was outdated, craftmanship of the year 50000 BGC. I fixed some parts and edited it with some stuff I found in the basement, and now it seems to work better.
