Tahu vs. Tahu: Resurrection

Prologue – Return to Form

Several sets were sitting on the floor staring at the television screen, which had given up on showing them the boring cartoon for the time being and was instead spouting advertisements at them.

TV: HAVE YOU EVER BEEN PART OF A CIVIL WAR?

“Of course we have.”

TV: DID YOU LOSE COMRADES IN A HUGE BATTLE?!

“I think that’s a little obvious.”

TV: HAVE YOU EVER FOUGHT A GIANT GOD THAT IS POSSESSING A HERO FACTORY SET?

“That’s a little specific, isn’t it?”

TV: DID YOU LOSE ALL FOUR OF YOUR LEADERS TO A TIME MACHINE IN THE PROCESS?

“Whoa whoa whoa wait a minute, I heard about something like that! It happened awhile ago!”

“Evo, shut up! I’m trying to listen!”

“Rocka, seriously! This television is weird!”

“Evo, you’re fat. Now shut up and watch.”

TV: DID YOU EVER WONDER WHY THEY JUST DISAPPEARED FOR SIX MONTHS?

“Yeah, that definitely happened. What the heck is up with this TV?”

“Evo! Shut up! Honestly!”

TV: DID YOU EVER WONDER WHAT THEY GOT UP TO?

“Yes, fine, we did! Now just stop talking!”

“Evo, it’s a television.”

“So?”

“I think it’s lacking a brain. Just a bit.”

TV: IF SO, CHECK OUT THIS NEW SHOW COMING UP NEXT!

“Why did it stop?”

“It’s pausing dramatically, I think.”

“Lame.”

TV: IT’S TAHU…

“Oh boy, my favourite show.”

TV: VERSUS…

“Let me guess! The Boston Red Sox!”

“Baseball.”

“Detroit Red Wings!”

“Hockey.”

“Toronto Raptors!”

“Evo, the Toronto Raptors are so bad they don’t even deserve to be called a sports team.”

TV: TAHU… RESURRECTION!!!!!

“Resurrection? Huh?”

“Evo, SHUT YOUR FACE! It’ll tell us!”

“Somebody must have missed the launch of the new Twilight book.”

“That was a terrible joke.”

TV: COMING UP NEXT.

“Well, there’s all of our questions answered.”

*-*-*-*

First Fire Lord toppled through – and it looked as if the shadow of ALMIGHTY had fallen through as well.

Then Nex 2.0 tumbled in – and he was immediately followed by Tahu Mata. And Tahu Stars, and Lewa Mata, and Takanuva Stars.

All four leaders vanished the next second, whisked away to another time, possibly never to be seen again.

The fighting halted abruptly. With no leaders to lead them, they disbanded immediately, and only Tahu Nuva remained behind, with a terrible feeling in his gut that this could only lead to worse things for all of them.

It was rather unfortunate just how right he would turn out to be.

*-*-*-*

Tahu Stars cursed as Nex 2.0 kicked away from him and spun away into a tunnel – or at least, that was the best he could describe it. A big tunnel of spiraling and spinning purple and black squares, with endless tunnels branching off of it. How you were supposed to decide which time you ended up in was honestly beyond him. All he could tell was that he and Takanuva Stars were alone.

Then Tahu Mata smacked into him, and he really felt like crying.

“Get away from me!” he snapped, pushing the Toa Mata of Fire away.

“Whoa! Whoa!”

Tahu Mata bumped into Lewa Mata, who spiraled into Takanuva Stars and sent both deputies tumbling into a separate side tunnel, leaving the two Tahu sets alone.

“Well, that’s just splendid!” Tahu Mata yelled. “Look what you did!”

“Look what I did?! Look what you did! You sent them flying to who knows where!”

“It was your fault, you gear-lacking bozo! You pushed me!”

“I’m not a bozo, you’re a bozo!”

“AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!”

The extremely grammatically incorrect scream came from both Tahu Mata and Tahu Stars, as they had suddenly been squished together by a rapidly shrinking tunnel.

“It’s shrinking!” Tahu Stars cried, stating the obvious.

“I know! I’m being squished! Someone help me!”

“For once in my life I don’t know what to do!”

And then they both came to a halt with a rather loud squeal. They both glanced at each other as best they could, considering that they no longer had enough room to move their heads.

“You know, I don’t think time travel is really supposed to work like this.” Tahu Mata mumbled.

“Yeah, you’d think it’d be a little more… how would you say it…”

“Fluid?”

“Yeah. And like, not stopping.”

Then both of the Tahu sets popped out of existence – a split second later they were tumbling out of the Time Machine to the house they both knew and were starting to hate with a passion.

“Well, it looks like we’re back home, my good friend.” Tahu Mata said, the last few words laced with sarcasm.

“That was a pretty short adventure.” Tahu Stars commented, choosing to ignore his fellow Toa of Fire.

“Hey! You guys are back already!”

The voice belonged to the Piraka Hakann, who began jogging towards them with a grin on his face. Before either Tahu could pull enough words out of their head to speak, the Piraka was engulfing both of them in a crushing hug.

“Man, you guys must like us more than anybody thought! You’ve only been gone for a day!” Hakann exclaimed, grinning.

“Eugh, get away from me!” Tahu Stars snapped. “I don’t do hugs, especially not from you folk under Tahu Mata.”

Hakann only laughed at this, patting a revolted Tahu Stars on the back.

“Ah Tahu Stars, you’re just the jokester as always. It’s a good thing you’re a little more serious, isn’t it Tahu Mata?”

“Um… sure. Hey Hakann, what year is it?”

“Why, 2011 of course. August 17th, 2011. You know, the day after the two of you went on the time travelling adventure you’ve been planning for the past month.”

Both the Tahus glanced at each other with wide eyes. Something was definitely wrong.

“Uh, Tahu Mata bumped his head on the trip.” Tahu Stars said hastily. “He’s been knocked silly. Would you mind explaining things in brief for him? He’s forgotten everything starting with my arrival.”

“Sure thing – I’m glad you told me.” Hakann said. “Well, obviously Tahu Stars, when you and the other Stars sets arrived, you were immediately welcomed with open arms. Once you realized that Tahu Mata was in charge, you joined him, obviously, to work together.”

“Obviously, yeah.” Tahu Stars muttered under his breath.

“Anyway, since then… a year and a half ago already, I suppose, you two have been leading us in complete harmony. There was a bit of a shaky start to our relations with Hero Factory when the first wave of them arrived, but everything has smoothened out now. They live in harmony with us as well.”

“That’s it?” Tahu Mata asked, disbelief etched in his voice.

“Well, and then you and Tahu Stars planned your adventure. Although now that I think about it, that doesn’t mean you couldn’t just turn up right now. So how was it?”

“It was absolutely splendid, Hakann.” Tahu Stars said sarcastically. “But in fact we actually travelled to a different dimension, where I was not welcomed, and then Tahu Mata and I launched into a massive civil war. We battled until Hero Factory arrived, and then we fought them too. Many sets died, many more were injured, and the two of us tumbled through the Time Machine and landed back here.”

“Wow! It’s so weird – you actually saw an alternate dimension like that?!”

“Yes.”

“Wow… it’s so hard to imagine that you two would ever fight! You agree on everything!”

“Obviously not everything.” Tahu Mata said drily. “Now take us inside. I think I might’ve hit my head too, because everything is making about as much sense to me as it is to our speechless Toa of Fire over there.”

“Absolutely, Tahu Stars.” Hakann said, bowing slightly and then leading them into the House that was not the House. “We’ve got your space in the Bedroom ready for your arrival already, as we didn’t know quite when you would arrive. You can rest there until you’re ready to start up again – in the meantime, Makuta and Pridak can handle things.”

“Makuta and Pridak? We left them in charge?” Tahu Mata cried out.

“Well, yes. You were going to leave Lewa Mata and Takanuva Stars in charge you see, but they decided to go off on an adventure with Nex 2.0 and Matau Hordika.”

“Of course, who wouldn’t?”

“You must have hit your heads really hard in that other dimension.” Hakann commented. “But don’t worry – you’re here now, so you’ll be just fine.”

As Hakann led them through the House that felt so eerily similar and different at the same time, Tahu Stars couldn’t be so sure.

BOOOOM, BABY!

Okay, but seriously, this was a lot of fun to write, so I really really hope you guys like it. I'll post the next Chapter next Monday, and then after that updates will be as frequent (or infrequent!) as I please and write the chapters, just like the good ol' days!

OH YES.

Of course it's just plain coincidence that the two happened to land together. Just one question: How have they managed not to kill each other yet?

I'm looking forward to the continuation of this (provided that you're not fooling us) although wasn't Aftermath (S3) all a dream? If so, though, keep going. I'll just assume Hollywood spiced up things a little :P.

The long awaited third season of TA:OT is finally here!!

No, I'm fairly certain Season 3 did occur. =P I mean, characters like Lewa Nuva were still dead after it, it's just I forgot some (Orkham, Stronius) had died. Also, I am not fooling you - in fact, to prove it, I'll post the next chapter this Friday.

Also, do not worry about them killing each other - this is before they came back, so there are plenty of issues to be solved. With violence!

TAHU VS. TAHU IS THE MATRIX

Good first chappy. Though I do have to wonder...how exactly did any of the Bionicles get enough money to pay for a TV advertisement?

NEXT CHAPTER IS HERE! LET'S CONTINUE TO THE FUN.

Glad you're all enjoying it so far. Don't forget poor AfterWords Season 2 tho.

Tahu vs. Tahu: Resurrection

Chapter 1 – United We Suffer

When Tahu Stars woke up panting and sweating in the familiar Bedroom, he sighed with relief. It had just been a terrible nightmare - that was all. He and Tahu Mata hadn’t fallen through the Time Machine and become trapped in some freaky dimension where they worked alongside each other!

That was impossible.

“HOLY MOTHER OF TOHU, WHAT THE SHOE IS GOING ON?!”

Tahu Mata was instantaneously awake, with his sword pressed up against Tahu Stars’ throat after the latter’s shout.

“Oh man, it wasn’t a dream.” Tahu Stars sobbed. “I really am trapped in a freaky dimension where I work alongside you!”

“Shut up!” Tahu Mata whispered. “If you give us away… well, I dunno. I just have a bad feeling about this place.”

“Because it is bad, you doof.” Tahu Stars snapped. “We’re not supposed to be here.”

“No, I mean, it feels bad because it’s the same feeling I had before you came along. Which means war can’t be far off.”

“Of course it isn’t far off, you and I are always at war. We’re trying to kill each other, remember?”

“No, I mean this place!” Tahu Mata said, emphasizing the last few words. “The sets here look like they’re at peace, but I think in reality, war is right beneath the surface waiting to bubble over top. How could the versions of us from this dimension not know about it?!”

“Tahu Mata, if these versions of us were stupid enough to get along, then I think reality is screwing itself over already.” Tahu Stars told him. “Now, would you please let me up?”

“What? Oh yeah, sure.”

Tahu Mata removed his sword and stepped back as Tahu Stars slowly stood, just in time – for Hakann had just joined them, having only barely missed the confrontation.

“Oh good, you guys are awake!” The Piraka grinned. “Makuta and Pridak are waiting to fill you in.”

“Hakann, something isn’t right here.” Tahu Mata said.

“Why, are you still confused?”

“No. War – I can feel it. War is about to come.”

“Well… that feeling actually has some relevance, sir. I would suggest you come with me. Pridak and Makuta have an interesting report to make.”

Tahu Mata and Tahu Stars glanced at each other as Hakann began to walk away, before shrugging and following the Piraka warily. Pridak and Makuta were already waiting for them as Hakann had said, and both sets gave the Tahus a little bow before glancing at each other.

“Tahu Mata, Tahu Stars,” Pridak greeted, looking nervous, “we have uh, some not so great news to report.”

“Several Hero Factory sets and Bionicle sets have gathered together and taken over the Basement as their base.” Makuta said. “They have announced war on the sets under your command, a war to be launched as soon as your return is known.”

“Would you give us a moment?” Tahu Stars asked. “We’ll think of something.”

He yanked Tahu Mata away, leaning towards him.

“The versions of us here are too naïve to realize what’s going on, that’s obvious.” Tahu Stars whispered. “That means if we leave immediately and they return, these sets are going to get squashed.”

“You’re saying we should stay here and help them?”

“Why not? War is our thing, right? Why do you sound so surprised? Why do you look so surprised?”

“Well, first of all, you’re thinking about somebody other than yourself.”

“Yeah actually, that is pretty sad.”

“Secondly, you’re offering to work with me.”

“I don’t necessarily need you, but while we’re stuck here together, we might as well learn to get along.”

“Wonderful. I’m so happy that you’ve come to your senses about the entire thing so quickly.”

“Shut your face, geezer. Let me do the talking.”

Tahu Stars turned yanked Tahu Mata back to Hakann, Pridak and Makuta, smiling at them reassuringly. All three sets were immediately revolted, because this Tahu Stars was not a reassuring type of fellow. However, the confident words that followed patched things up quick.

“Well, thanks to our experiences elsewhere, we know just what to do!” Tahu Stars announced. “You three get me an army – everybody still loyal to both me and my rather ugly – urm, I mean beautiful, friend here. Then we start planning the surprise attack.”

“What happened to honor and integrity?” Pridak asked.

“Huh?”

“Honor and integrity. You’ve always disagreed with violence sir, but you said that if it were ever necessary, use honor and integrity.”

“Pridak, allow me to let you in on a little secret.” Tahu Stars beckoned the Barraki closer, putting his arm around Pridak’s shoulders. “You see, during our, ah, adventure, I discovered one very important thing: in battle, screw honor and integrity. Just win.”

Tahu Mata had already had enough – they’d already screwed up two dimensions, it seemed, but this one was still better off if they didn’t manage to corrupt it to the core as well.

“What Tahu Stars means is that a surprise attack isn’t dishonorable – it’s actually a very good technique. If you announce a battle beforehand, every fight turns into a fight to the death. However, in a successful surprise attack, you can often take most of the opposing army as prisoners, saving lives of them and yourselves.”

Hakann nodded, looking relieved. “That makes a lot more sense. I think both of you must have taken a hit to the head.”

“Oh trust me, we’ve taken more than one.” Tahu Stars commented. “We’ve been at war already. Stuff happens.”

Tahu Mata desperately wanted to face palm. Unfortunately, that would just give things away even more, so he waved the three sets away to do what Tahu Stars had ordered.

“Well, I’d say that was pretty successful.” Tahu Stars said proudly.

“Maybe you should stay here.” Tahu Mata suggested.

“What do you mean?”

“They obviously love both of us here, and you’re a particular favourite. Let me rule our dimension, and you can rule this one.”

“No way! You’re not getting rid of me. What if the regular guys come back? I’d be screwed. Nice try, buddy.”

“Please never call me ‘buddy’ again.”

“Sure thing, buddy. Sure thing.”

“You know what?”

“What?”

“I hate you.”

Tahu vs. Tahu: Resurrection

Chapter 2 – Lesson Number One

“Alright, this wasn’t exactly what I had in mind.”

Tahu Stars tapped the bars of his cage and then glanced down to the lava below, trying to remember how exactly he’d managed to get into this situation.

“For once, I agree with you.” Tahu Mata said, as his cage – the same size, which wasn’t that big – dropped several centimetres with a creak.

“Remind me how we got into this mess?”

“Well, apparently, they weren’t lying about the ‘you two are united’ bit – that was real. Unfortunately, after the other versions of us left, they decided they liked it better without us.”

“Isn’t that a relief.” Tahu Stars interrupted sarcastically.

“Yes, I know. Anyway, they started mining to the core, they’ve become rich, powerful, corrupt, rule half the planet, and are now about to drop us down the aforementioned mine.”

“I’m not completely sure why or how toys made of plastic did this, but okay.”

“Hey! Quiet down there!”

The voice belonged to Toa Norik Hagah, the set that had taken over the House in the other Tahus’ absences, and was (probably) the one responsible for this mess. Tahu Stars didn’t really want to think about what they’d do if the other versions of him and Tahu Mata returned.

“By the order of the high command, you two have been sentenced to execution!” Norik Hagah announced.

“What high command?” Tahu Stars yelled back.

Our high command, you fool! We have half of the globe under our control! Do not play with me!”

“I’m cooler than you anyway.” Tahu Stars muttered.

“Now’s not a good time!” Tahu Mata hissed at him. “We’re about to die!”

“Yeah, well, why not then? If I’m going to die, I’m doing it with style.”

“Now watch!” Norik Hagah yelled. “Watch as your cages – and your lives, at that – are melted by fire!”

“Actually, it’s burned by fire!” Tahu Stars called back. “Or melted by lava.”

“Shut up!”

And that was how Tahu Stars came to be plunging towards lava faster than he’d travelled in his (admittedly embarrassingly short) life. He contemplated for several seconds how to react, as dying was a rather big deal, but was unable to reach a decision before something slammed into his cage, snapping the chain and sending it – and him with it – flying through the air.

“That’s just great.” Tahu Stars complained. “Now I’ll fall even faster!”

“Not today, sir!”

“Stronius?!”

“That would be me, yes. Believe it or not, some of us are still loyal. For real this time.”

“Oh… good. Now what?”

“Your cage is about to fly into one of our separate mining tunnels. It should shatter upon impact. I need to go save your friend.”

“Actually, he’s not my friend! You can, like, leave him there, you know! Just let him die! Please? Please? Fine, save him.”

Tahu Stars gagged as his cage entered the tunnel and shattered – sulphuric acid did not smell nice. Luckily, he was a plastic set, so he didn’t actually need to breathe in order to survive. He crawled to the tunnel wall and sat against it, waiting for Stronius to return.

*-*-*-*

Tahu Mata chuckled as he watched the Glatorian set Stronius save Tahu Stars – until he remembered that Tahu Stars was actually his sworn enemy, and he wasn’t supposed to be happy that he was safe.

“What?! Kill the other one! Now! Quickly!” Norik Hagah shouted the orders quickly, clearly furious, and Tahu Mata was sure the Toa would have turned beet red with rage if he could.

Tahu Mata shut his eyes tight as the chain holding his cage up disconnected – only to discover that his cage was simply hovering in mid-air.

“What? How?” he was speechless, until…

“I’ve got you!” Rotor grunted. “I got you boss. There are still some heroes left!”

“I’m glad.”

“No, you’re not.” Norik Hagah spat, landing on the cage with a clang. “Try this on for size, you fat Hero Factory set.”

Norik Hagah aimed a blaster at Rotor and fired without hesitation – the set tumbled down towards the lava as the blast shattered his chest, and Tahu Mata knew he wouldn’t rise again.

“Lesson number one, Tahu.” Norik Hagah hissed. “Heroes… there is no such thing.

“I feel like you copied that from somewhere.” Tahu Mata muttered, as they rapidly fell through the air.

“Perhaps… it is only right.”

“The best leaders copy?”

“Originality is pointless.”

“Says you. Look up.”

Norik Hagah looked up, confused, and then he swore as Lewa Mistika, riding the Axalara T9, slammed into the cage, flying them straight into the tunnel. Tahu Mata grabbed onto the vehicle as his cage shattered, and barely noticed as both Stronius and Tahu Stars held on for dear life as well.

“Hold on tight, we’re going down!” Lewa Mistika shouted.

“You’ll never get away with this! I will kill you all!” Norik Hagah screeched.

Lewa Mistika turned through the winding tunnels with ease as the Axalara sped further down towards the core.

“What are you doing?!” Tahu Mata shouted.

“Need to go down! Only way to get back up!”

Just as the response came, they popped out – lava everywhere. Tahu Mata pressed himself against the Axalara as lava spewed out of a geyser towards him. Tahu Stars hung on for dear life as he suddenly found himself underneath the vehicle, hanging over the lava.

“Get me out of here!” Tahu Stars yelled.

“We’re doing our best!” Lewa Mistika shouted. “Just hold on to your horses!”

“No! You are going nowhere!” Norik Hagah bellowed.

Lewa Mistika suddenly swerved to avoid a fall of lava – and then Tahu Mata was free falling, flung off by the force. Stronius reached out to grab him, but just missed, and Tahu Mata fell towards the lava. Lewa Mistika swung around and dove towards him, and Tahu Mata held out his arm.

Tahu Stars was the only one free to grab him – now was the chance Tahu Stars had been waiting for. To eliminate Tahu Mata, win the war, and rule the House.

He grabbed his arm, pulled him on, and Lewa Mistika spun the Axalara around to fly out of the pit. Tahu Mata crawled up to the cockpit area and collapsed, exhausted from the shock.

*-*-*-*

Tahu Mata groaned as he sat up, having been laid down upon the grass in a field somewhere. The sky was completely overcast, although the grass was dry and there was no sign of rain. The light wind and the warmer temperature indicated rain to come, but somehow, Tahu Mata knew it wouldn’t. Not yet, at any rate.

“So the Sleeping Ugly awakens.”

“I love you too, Tahu Stars.”

“Yeah, well I don’t love you.” Tahu Stars retorted, taking a seat in front of him and stretching out.

“You saved me.”

“…yeah, I was hoping we wouldn’t get to that.”

“Why did you do it?”

“Well… I dunno. It’s instinct, I suppose. It’s not like we were in battle, and at that moment, I was more preoccupied with, you know, making sure I survived more than focusing on making sure you died.”

“Alright.” Tahu Mata didn’t know what to say – this was something to contemplate. He changed the subject. “Where are we?”

“Well, after you passed out, we got to the Time Machine, and they dropped you and I off.”

“Why?”

“They went to get some friends. Once they were back, we went through, and came out in this field. They’re around here somewhere.”

“Norik Hagah?”

“Came through with us, unfortunately. The little bugger ran off somewhere, no idea where he is.”

“You know, I think we might’ve just met the main villain…”

“You think?”

“Wait. You said… wait… Stronius and Lewa Mistika went through with us?”

“They sure did.”

Tahu Stars smirked at him, clearly enjoying his confusion. Tahu Mata tried to piece it together.

“And they brought friends? Like, other good sets?”

“Yeah. We have a bit of a team.” Tahu Stars explained. “I told them everything – the truth. They told me they’ll only help if we work together.”

“So you came to offer a truce.”

“Well… yeah, I guess I did.”

Tahu Mata held out his hand. “Very well then. Until we return, a truce it shall be. Shake on it?”

Tahu Stars hesitated only for a second. They shook hands.

To Be Continued.

I'll put a character sheet up soon!

Next time:

Tahu Mata and Tahu Stars might have a truce, but the two Toa of Fire must still learn how to work together as they and their new ragtag team of sets set off on an adventure back home, racing against one set that will probably be unable to do anything if he beats them there.

Then again, look at what happened when Lewa Mata took over.

...maybe this is just me, but...if I was going to execute a Toa of Fire...I would probably find some other way to do it than lava.

Out of curiosity...what internal organs DO plastic sets have?

Tahu Stars was the only one free to grab him – now was the chance Tahu Stars had been waiting for. To eliminate Tahu Mata, win the war, and rule the House.

He grabbed his arm, pulled him on, and Lewa Mistika spun the Axalara around to fly out of the pit. Tahu Mata crawled up to the cockpit area and collapsed, exhausted from the shock.

That's a plot extender if I ever saw one. :P

Ah, television shows. Always making the impossible...possible. I do suppose this isn't the first truce, technically: both sides hated HF and the Slizers. But then they still fought against each other anyway. Ah, well. I suppose I'm trying to find a solution to this madness, but can't. I should just enjoy the show.Good chappy. Though I still question the truce, we might as wel wait and see...after the break.~MN~

The long awaited third season of TA:OT is finally here!!

“Now’s not a good time!” Tahu Mata hissed at him. “We’re about to die!”

“Yeah, well, why not then? If I’m going to die, I’m doing it with style.”

“Now watch!” Norik Hagah yelled. “Watch as your cages – and your lives, at that – are melted by fire!”

...maybe this is just me, but...if I was going to execute a Toa of Fire...I would probably find some other way to do it than lava.

Well, considering I can't kill off either of the Tahus if I want to stick with canon... xD

But then, there must be a reason they were different in Season 4... probably Tahus from a seperate dimension.

The first truce took place between Chapters 9 and 10 of Season 1 - there was a six month gap where I didn't have the sets do anything, as I needed Hero Factory to arrive during the finale. This would be the second official truce.

Will there be guests stars in this?

GENERATION 3: The first time you see this, copy it into your sig on any forum and add 1 to the generation. Social experiment.
If I actually tried putting all the stuff I like on here, the sig would burst.
